I was waiting to play this game since it's original release on consoles. Many years later dream came true and I am so excited. It was definitely worth the wait. Haven't finished it yet, but the plot is engaging, characters are great and memorable. The STYLE of this game, the OST. It's all so beautiful. Absolutely worth the money and your time.
Incredible game, will absolutely take you a lot of time to finish, like a lot a lot, don't expect a game that ends after only about 20 hours here! The gameplay and characters in the game are both fun, and I really recommend the game to anyone who might be intrested in it, Persona 5 Royal is an amazing games that gets a huge thumbs up from me!
Somehow taking a great game and just making it better. Did it have its flaws and controversies? Yeah, but this is still Persona at it's absolute best. This is a great example of how you can improve a game without fundamentally making it a different game.
Oh look, it's Joker Persona 5 from the hit game Super Smash Bros: Ultimate, but now with a mysterious red hair girl
Persona 5 is not for everyone, but for those that it is for it's a masterpiece.
If you played Fire Emblem Three Houses and hated the Monastery half of the game do not get this. If you enjoyed it and are okay with turn based titles then you need not read any further.
What this game has:
- Incredible music
- Incredible artstyle
- Lots of well crafted characters
- Some slightly abrasive characters
- Great story (so far)
- A cat in your backpack
- Solid PC port (Would have appreciated more graphical enhancing options like LoD and Render Distance)
All in all I'm very happy with the game so far, glad to finally see that it lived up to the hype.
Paid for this game 3 times now and easily one of if not the best game. Absolutely fantastic
Also fuck Morgana. Thank god they nerfed his ability to force me into sleep in this game
Absolutely fantastic game in pretty much all aspects, but everyone is saying that so here is a tip for new players. I recommend using a non-spoiler guide for this game (in terms of what to spend your limited time doing to level up stats and relationships). This is a LONG game, 100+ hours at a minimum and if you don't level up certain stats/relationships you can miss out on important parts of the story or individual character stories. If you are like me and only plan on doing one playthrough it's good to get a guide that lets you experience everything the first time.
It's 2022 can we get some camera controls that aren't fucking trash? You cannot move the camera diagonally. Literally. It's no different than D-Pad camera controls on a joystick. It's unbearable and you shouldn't buy this until they fix it. I've never played P5 and was stoked but this fucking hurts and is not enjoyable to play. Planned to do my playthrough on Steam Deck but that shit ain't tolerable. At least I can try with KB/M but I've heard that controller is 10x better.
I held myself back on playing this game for years but I'm very glad I finally got around to playing it. One of the best JRPGs you can play and it's now on nearly every readily available platform. It is honestly worth the 60 dollars asking price and you will get A LOT of play time out of it; the story is honestly well written and you enjoy each character that comes around, a very solid experience. 9/10.
Honestly one of the best games Ive ever played. Played it on PS$ before, but so glad it moved to PC!!!
Amazing main story line with some interesting personal stories youll learn about by hanging out with them. Fun turn based fights, with some great combat animations that never really get old. I would highly recommend this game!
Even need to ask?

Rating: 10/10
A JRPG unlike an I've ever played before. Good for anyone who doesnt normally like JRPG's and great for those who love them already.
10/10 sound design as well
The exact same game but it's 60 fps and is more smooth.
Not that there's anything wrong with that.
20/10
Amazing game, my personal favorite video game. Already beat this multiple times back when it was a PS4 exclusive, this PC port is very good as well and being able to play the game at 120 FPS instead of the original 30 FPS cap on the PS4 is pretty awesome. I love this game a lot, great story, characters, music, gameplay, etc. The Royal version of Persona 5 is an upgraded version of the original game (which is only on PS3/PS4) back from 2017, this version coming out in 2020. It adds some new characters, some new gameplay elements, music, and most importantly an entire new story arc at the end with a new dungeon and everything, as well as a new ending following that. The new story is amazing as well and honestly my favorite part of the game, the final antagonist being my favorite in the Persona series. P5R is a fantastic game and this is an excellent port.
The is a gorgeous port of an absolutely astounding game. Had my on the edge of my seat with my jaw dropped for most of it. Epic moments and incredible fights make this game an instant classic and a new all time favorite. Cannot get enough of this game.
I love this game. Just buy it.
Addictive turn based combat, beautiful FX, great voice acting, amazing story, and just an overall great experience. If you've never played a Persona game, you can start with this one.
Looking cool Joker :P
Such a great game. I normally get bored of RPGs after one play through but I have played through this game a few times. The characters, game play, music, art style are all wonderful.
This game tells the story of a Japanese bad boy student named Gopal Ramasamy who goes around stealing hearts.
Gopal is such a player, he has a whole harem of girls at his beck and call, incuding his own class teacher. He first realized he was such a chad when some pussy followed him to a coffee shop. He jumped on that opportunity and rode it to the shadow realm.
Unfortunately, like all bad boys, he was caught by THE MAN, in his case, Japanese CIA or something, who threw him in jail which is wardened by 2 lolis and a Jewish guy I think, judging by his nose.
I don't know man. Japanese games are weird.
just like sykrim, with each release, ill buy it. is that a good mentality? no. do i care? no. will i buy it for a fourth time?
...yes.
Yes Yes and Yes, this game is so good.... Well you probably wont get a Real Life girl after playing this tho so be careful, and your current Girlfriend will probably ask to break up with you if she know you're playing this game
An absolute Japanese treasure.
This game offers SO MUCH in terms of hours (and seriously, I mean HOURS because if you do "take your time" - it's easily a 100+ hour experience). It's not a total grind-fest to pad out all of those hours, no. It doesn't feel like a total chore to play through. What it offers is so much more than the general dungeon-crawling and palace-conquering madness: the game throws you into a world of immersion in reality. The game itself takes place over a year, but each day is made to feel important. The game fully means it when it says "take your time" just because there IS a lot to do. You go to school like a normal student, build bonds with unique characters with their own strengths and personalities, partake in various activities to increase your stats, etc. Between everyday life, the dungeon-days, and the story-heavy days - your hours will easily rack up and make it well-worth the time spent, even on multiple playthroughs if need-be for those achievements.
It beautifully involves each character as well. Each one that you'll come across is unique, with their own stories and traits that make them feel real. The relationships developed with said characters also feel worth it, from the interwoven bonds that can either slowly or quickly build - depending on your pace and focus. The graphics are spectacular as well - colorful, vibrant, but with the ability to set what the game would like to depict. Each palace and the places in reality you can explore have their own unique dynamic to make sure you know which is which, or what they're meant to represent. The music that accompanies throughout the entire game is LEGENDARY, with so many amazing tracks that you can get lost in and want to simply chill to later. The battle system is great - reliant on a turn-based, strength-based gameplay. Your teammates aren't there for simply show, as the game punctuates the importance of using everyone's strengths in battle - from baton passes, to weakness targeting. The game itself runs smoothly, despite the size of the game and how great it all looks graphically. The controls are easy to understand. The dialogue is fluent and smooth - each voice actor (at least I can confirm for both the English and Japanese dubs) is amazing, and puts personality into the character they are voicing. The story itself has so much to offer - while some things are naturally foreshadowed or could be predicted by keen eyes, it's overall really well brought together and interesting to the very end.
All in all, I highly recommend this game to anyone who wants a worthwhile experience with an RPG title. It would not be a waste of your time or money. And just to drive that point home: this is my fourth purchase of this game. First being the original Persona 5, next two being the Japanese / English versions of Royal, and now here too. This is something I rarely or at all have done with ANY game. Now? I'm just so happy that more people will have the opportunity to experience this same brilliance for themselves. It's taken a long time to get here, but I promise to anyone who is either on the fence about this game or has wanted to play it but simply couldn't for the longest because of the exclusivity: you will not regret this buy.
I love this game so much, I have bought it again for Steam, despite owning Persona 5 and Persona 5 Royal on PS4. It's a JRPG crossed with a visual novel, crossed with a dating sim.
It's bloody great and there's a reason this is one of the highest rated games ever on Metacritic.
The game in its current state is highly unoptimized, and needs to be patched. Ignore forum posters who say the game is perfectly fine. It isn't, there are more than a few people experiencing frame rate issues on higher end systems. Wait for a patch before buying. It's a shame because i really love this franchise and this game.
Amazing music, UI, gameplay. Great JRPG with exciting characters and story. Hoping for Persona 6 announcement soon.
I bought this today and played it for 7 hours straight. I'd say its pretty damn good. Addicting gameplay, AMAZING soundtrack as usual for a Persona or Shin Megami Tensei title. Happy to see it on steam and I hope someday to see the entire Shin Megami Tensei Franchise on Steam too!
I had this game on ps4 and was in the middle of playing it when I had to sell my Ps4 for my sister's college. I always thought about coming back to the game once I get a PS5
But now that it's on PC, I'm going to finish the game as I always wanted to. I wish the local pricing was fair for a 5 year old game but I'm still happy Persona 5 Royal is finally on pc
As for the quality of port is concerned, its a fantastic port and I've encountered no issues whatsoever
Thanks Atlus and Sega
After 5 years, the Persona 5 fanbase can finally play Persona 5!
What is Persona 5? Think of it as Pokemon but actually challenging, with visual novel/dating sim elements and Yakuza-lite mini-games.
While this game's fanbase is definitely one of the worst and certainly a turn-off for some people, the game's quality speaks for itself. It's stylish, bold, and has a strong pacing in both gameplay and story. Persona 5 is certainly the best jumping point to the Persona series and also a great gateway drug to arguably the best turn-based JRPG franchise out there, that is Shin Megami Tensei.
Combat is certainly still a bit too easy for my liking even on the hardest difficulty setting. But the elements they've added from the mainline Megaten games: namely turn passing (Baton Pass) and Persona negotiation easily makes the combat the best in the entire Persona subseries.
It's far from perfect. But it's hard not to love this well-crafted JRPG either. If you're looking for something to enjoy at a comfortable pace without having a bad pacing, you can't go wrong with Persona 5.
Good game so far but i dont reccommend buying until they take off denuvo. locked me out for 24 hours after trying to play on linux and cant play in offline mode on steam deck. because of this i give it 3/10. i will change my review after this anti consumer bs is taken off the game
BRUH. This game is so good, I cannot stop playing it for the life of me, and I do not want to stop. I love the Persona games but didn't have a Playstation to try this one, so I watched a couple of playthroughs on YouTube over the years, and honestly, playing it myself is so so so much better than watching someone else play it. The combat feels INCREDIBLE, the soundtrack is so hype, and the daily grind is very rewarding and satisfying to play through. Super excited the PC port is finally here, I can't recommend it enough.
I have always wanted to play Persona 5 but I've never owned a PlayStation at any point in my life. Once I heard they were coming out with Royal on Steam I patiently waited for its release for over half of a year and now that it's finally here... I can't stop playing it, I work and go to school and every single day when I get done with everything I have to do I come back home and play more. This game is spectacular and I highly recommend it to anyone. I'm not usually a jrpg kind of person but this game has been an exception for sure.
Coming from Golden, it takes a little while to adjust to the UI high contrast red and blacks, but the story is excellent again and clearly made with a lot of love and attention. Works great on the Deck too.
Persona is amazing this is my 5th play through and still finding new things trying to max out everything this time around, beautiful story, well written characters and interesting plot twist. The port is really good as well cant recommend this game enough
One of my favorite games of all time brought to PC, I've been having a blast since I (re)bought the game! Def recommend
If you want to know about persona 5 royal, here is the conclusion of the game. The combats are pokemon, the story is inception, the graphic is cowboy bebop, and the music, gosh, the music is really outstanding. I can step away from my controller just to listen to the music until its over.
Persona 5 Royal is finally on PC! Part dungeon RPG, part life sim RPG, and at 100+ hrs for a playthrough this game is absolutely worth your time.
It is also possible to import saves from PS4. Methods of doing this can be found with a google search. (Some achievements wont work though, such as the one for maxing the social stats)
Word of warning: this version includes a number of Persona's that were originally released as DLC, and a few make a majority of the game trivial if you use them, and they are given to you literally free so consider avoiding them until the late game unless you actively want to mow through everything without trying.
