Shame this is the only table. It would have been worth seeing more.

But it looks like this one table is it.

Still worth having IMO

One of the most realistic pinball games I've played. I've played for an hour and there were no glitches, bugs etc. Most realistic lifelike physics based pinball games on Steam, and the game is very fair with plenty of multi-balls. This developer is top notch. I'd prefer a different genre than pirates next time. Highly recommend. 80's theme next, please. (I wonder if this could play on the iiRcade with lower settings)

The one thing that stops this table from becoming a ten out of ten is the way the table 'warps' when the ball hits a certain part. The movement of the ball itself is great. And the graphics are first class. The problem comes when the table warps. This is not a smooth movement and it can be very disconcerting.

I'm not sure if the programmers meant it to be this way, but it doesn't feel right at all for a pinball table. If there can be an update to fix this issue, to make the table warp smoother, then this table would be right at the top of the pile,, when it comes to digital pinball. Right now, it's not quite there.

Very nice, but Pinball FX seems be a lot smoother on my PC.

Decided to give it a try Nov 23 2017 with a moderate-but-appreciated discount of I think it was 20% or 25% (a bit under US$14). I'll keep it; it's doing well for early access.

Play is fluid and reasonably fast without being crazy; with flippers only at the bottom of the Black Flaggers table, shots tend to be long, but I was able to catch the ball fairly often and aim shots accurately.

I did have to use the DEBUG terminate ball option once in two games played so far, but I didn't notice any other bugs.

Really good integration of orchestral background music with gameplay. (Doesn't try to completely imitate Klaus Badelt's _Pirates of the Carribean_ score, but those ideas are definitely in there.)

I miss rumble on the controller to provide subtle feedback; hopefully that's on their list for some day, but it's hardly essential.

Auto-config on a GTX 1070 put all the settings full up, but only a 1280x720 resolution. That was a bit unpleasant, but 4k managed only 30fps. FHD (1920x1080) was over 100fps, so I kept going and settled on 2560x1536 (?) which was around 75fps.

Edit: In my first writing of the review, I got the _Pirates_ composer wrong... but it is a small tribute to this pinball game that after playing a few games together, we were inspired to rewatch that movie this evening, when I saw the correct credit :-)

I saw this on sale and decided to give it a go as its not something I usually go for .
The graphics are good and the soundtrack is similar enough to get you thinking of a "certain pirate film" but not enough to get the lawyers in .
Gameplay is good but I dont think I have sworn so much in the 45 mins I have played it at anything else . My lack of skill rather than the game though . There is a little occasional change of view when the ball goes up table that might cause a bit of motion sickness to the very susceptible .
Quite addictive to beat your high score , and things keep appearing that I had no idea what caused it , but again my lack of skill was probably at fault there .
For one table a bit pricey but if you catch it in a sale well worth having in your collection .

This game is pretty fun. It has a unique spin on the camera in the default view. Its kind of like looking through a binocular set the wrong way when the ball shoots down at you. I like it and wish other games had that view. It plays pretty fast at times but the paddles really allow for control of the ball. Much better than similar products I have played. The sound and graphics are good. The game has different effects I have not seen elsewhere. There is a leaderboard where you can see how well you do as compared to your peers. I liked that.

I didnt have any problems playing it so any bugs it has were not evident to me. Was it worth 17 bucks? If you like pinball I would say yes. I'm glad I bought it and look forward to trying out anything else they make.

I've no hesitation recommending this, even in early access.

This is a yery fun, imaginative table, with immersive music, great sounds,
and incredible lighting effects. This is one of the few tables where the ball
looks like it's really there, from the effects like spinning and the ball reflections.

Overall, I love the way the lighting of the table gets you into the game, very well done,
especially the transitions to thunderstorm and treasure chest modes.

As it's early access, I had a few suggestions:

For navigating the menu, at the moment only the directional buttons work, but it might
be nice to also allow the left thumbstick to be used for that input? It's because on the
Steam Controller, the directional buttons are simulated via the left trackpad and they
make a clunky sound when pressed, whereas it would feel more natural to use the
left thunbstick on the Steam Controller for navigating the game menus (as the left
thunbstick on the Steam Controller happens to be in the exact same position as
the directional buttons are in on the XBOX controller).

Could the position of the Dot Matrix Display be "shiftable" more toward the upper left
corner, so that it could be made a little larger via the Operator menu? At the moment,
there seems to be plenty of room above and to the left of it, which seems wasted.
Perhaps it would help to be able to make the DMD bigger, without covering up the
figure in the crows nest?

Sometimes the flippers seem to absorb the ball's energy too much, hard to
explain it's as though they sometimes "lose their bounce" resulting in the ball
sometimes almost stopping on them.

The "switch view" button's operation is a little confusing, does it combine the "lock view"
functionality? I like the way the view of the playfield moves with the ball, but I lost that
functionality for a while after I switched views, then it came back, so I wasn't sure.
Edit: I think pressing the switch view button a second time while in the same view
changes from the "lock view" mode to the "free camera" mode, but the GUI for that
isn't terribly clear.

Sometimes, the view of the playfield seems to "jump" toward the top of the playfield
(perhaps because of some event that's happening there, e.g. when the shark swallows
the ball) but it seems too sudden, I'd prefer the smooth movement of the camera to
be preserved all the time, if possible.

I put together a working Steam Controller configuration, perhaps you could also
provide a default one so that folks don't have to figure it out for themselves, as
currently the game assumes an XBOX controller, but the Steam controller is a
little different. I haven't been able to get vibration to work yet with the Steam
Controller. For folks trying to use their own non-XBOX controllers, it might be
useful to provide a way to test the controller inputs e.g. on the menu page where
it currently displays their assignments (e.g. by lighting up when the corresponding
controller input is pressed, or something). It would also be good to provide
a way to test if the vibration is working properly, as the game only vibrates
the controller for certain events.

I noticed that the "nudge" is behaving in a very "binary" fashion, whereas in
Timeshock, Pinball Arcade and Pinball FX2 it seems that the intensity of the "nudge"
can be more controlled, so that it doesn't result in a warning each time. The same trouble
happens when using the XBOX controller, so I don't think it's related to my Steam
Controller configuration.

Please look into whether you could add Steam VR support, a table like this
would be just incredible in VR, you did mention it's on your todo list, I wasn't
sure on the priority. I'd even be willing to pay extra for VR support on this game!

It might be fun to be able to aim the cannon, or use it during multiball?
I wasn't sure if there's any "skillshot" in this table, some tables have them.

Also, the skull has such perfect teeth... perhaps it'd be fun if it lost one or
two from the hits it takes leading up to multiball? Also, when using View 3,
you can't see the balls resting on top of the skull, perhaps placing them (glowing)
in the eye sockets instead of on top of the skull might be a fun way to make
them visible in view 3? Nor can you see which top rollovers are lit when firing
the cannon, which makes getting the rum pretty much a random event in View 3.

Thanks so much for making this game available on Steam!

On my Windows 7 machine (build documented here: http://www.penlug.org/foswiki/bin/view/Main/LinuxHardwareInfoAsusP8Z77V)
I get the following crash immediately after the game appears (ir renders for
about one second, then crashes).
It does give the warning
"The installed version of the NVIDIA graphics driver has known issues.
Please update to the latest driver version. NVIDIA GeForce GTX TITAN
Installed: 327.23
Recommended: 378.92"
but all of the other games on my Steam account work fine with this driver,
and unfortunately none of the newer nVidia drivers work properly for 3D vision surround.
I thought I'd mention the crash, as Pinball Arcade runs OK at 1920x1080
resolution in DX11 mode, so there might be a bug in your game?
Your game runs fine on my single-monitor Windows 10 system, but I was curious
what it would look like with nVidia 3D vision enabled (if it supports that?)
hence trying it on this Windows 7 machine, but perhaps this is a DX11-only game,
hence the crash? Is there a way to launch it in the legacy mode?

After getting nVidia 3D Vision Surround working on my Windows 10 machine,
I found that in this game most of the depth calculations are wrong making the
game fairly useless in stereoscopic 3D at the moment. It'd be great if you could
fix this.

Great video pin sim so far Imo. Good flow if you hit the shots. Ball physics are a little unrealistic at times (super easy to dead catch) but once you learn how it will move no issue. Great lighting and voice acting. Sound effects at times need work. Modes and scoring are fun. Overall great game. I have the high score in 3 ball right now lol.

Game released 10-12-17...Today's date 2-25-18.
As of today...The game is unplayable...FATAL ERROR after loading.
Game not recommended at this time.

I verified the files. Uninstalled and re-installed twice. I was able to play two times with crashes (unable to complete the game play those two times). I bought the game on the first day it was available. I always had crash issues. I am using a high end MSI gaming notebook with over 100 games installed.

I was unsure about opting in for an early access game but I am very happy I did.. I am very impressed and hope there are a lot of extra tables to come. The graphics are incredible and the unreal engine really allows for all the extra detail. Please make sure you include cabinet support. I own every Pinball FX3 table. With the quality of this one I will do the same if you make it cabinet friendly.

There's something about this table that just doesn't keep me interested enough to play more than 1 or 2 games at a time.
It has only ever crashed on me once.
I don't think the physics are really that good.
1 table for the price keeps me from recommending it.

Well, it's been over 18 months now and It's come a long way from then but I still don't think the physics are quite right and there are some sensitive bumpers. Still OK but still note a thumbs up.

mweb
mweb

The latest uodate changed the physics in a way that I do not like. There is absolutely no bounce or flex on the flippers even if they are extended when the ball hits them. They have rubber on them but they act like a piece of steel now. Also ball goes down much easier now. Sound effects for the two bumpers above the middle center flippers can barely hear. Dont like the game much anymore. Quit changing things that work.

Been looking at the reviews for this table for quite a while, which, I must admit, made me unsure. However, I took the chance while it was on sale and I am truly glad - the game played so smooth and graphics are inspiring. Hard to get a high score but so much fun. Get the DLC Supporters download too!

I bought it at the new price, love it, realized why they were asking so much in the first place, wished they had a demo way back then. Then I'd be 1st by now not just 3rd on the 5ball leaderboard, now bought the supporters upgrade to put my money where my mouth is! Though when VR "This Way Comes" Ill be lost on Vive Pirate Island for loooooong time.. :) Though HDR support would of been nice especially with all the light effects...

I love that a new pinball developer is throwing their hat in the ring and love the possibility of a new series of digital pinball, and hope this game gets the support it deserves. Though sadly, the only thing this game gave me was an error message "Low Level Fatal Error". I never even saw the title screen, despite multiple attempts at restarting my pc, verifing the game files, running as administrator, and reinstalling, but nothing worked. Hopefully there will be more tables and the price will drop a bit more (its currently $10, but got it for $8, which might seem like a lot, but I like to support new devs). Sadly, I have no option but to refund. Hopefully it gets better in the future.

It makes me incredibly happy to see a new Pinball franchise on the market! Honestly, I'm a bit bored with how the current pinball engines are doing things so seeing something fresh its a good thing.

Pinball Wicked manages to combine the real physics with a fun digital pinball table.

It's as good as any of the Zen Pinball tables but it's only one at the moment. Looks good on my vertical cabinet setup and with 3D vision on my desktop. Needs backglass support and ability to move the DMD to the second montior but these this will come. VR support would be cool also. Aaaargh!!!

One or two months before PinbalFX3 started releasing Williams tables I was playing ProPinball Timeshock!, developed a taste for more pinball and since I didn't care for TPA, Zaccaria or the PinballFX3 originals I bought Pinball Wicked. It was and still is in Early Access, there are quite a few things wrong with the table but I did enjoy playing it. In all fairness making a pinball game that I like is not easy especially since PinballFX3 has raised the standard. They've made all other pinball games unplayable for me. A lot of issues I had with Pinball Wicked have been resolved and the bugs I encountered were all fixed. I hope this game keeps improving because I'd like to see more original pinball tables if not for me for the sake of pinball

The pros:
The graphics are beautiful. I prefer realistic tables but it's great what they pulled off using the Unreal engine. Since a recent update it now runs smooth on my pc in 2560x1440 using a GTX 1060 6GB.

There are multiple modes, including multiballs and you can have more than one run at the same time. Some are quite challenging.

When you pause there's now a status report so you can see how you're doing and what to concentrate on next. Tradionally on DMD tables you would hold one flipper up and the status report would show on the DMD but this works fine as well maybe even better.

The real time nudge icon is great, it's like what's inside a real machine, a grounded plumb bob centered in an electrified metal ring. Of course you don't see it while playing a real table but it would be nice to see. In other games I can only wonder how the nudge sensor system works and whether it's a realistic representation.

There's no videomode, which I think is a good thing. A lot of real and digital only DMD tables have a videomode and it takes up too much time and can break your flow.

There are multiple balls to choose from, steel balls with and without the table name, a bone ball and glowing balls.

The cons:
There's no camera view I really like. I prefer to play in landscape with a higher angle than cam 1, while I have learned that others prefer an even higher angle than me. To me it feels like I'm crouched down a bit just looking over the table instead of standing behind it. If you like to play pinball in portrait or cabinet view then you're in luck, it's better but it's not for me. I'd like to see more camera views added or a custom height adjustable camera. Having more views available would make it easier for gamers to switch between PinballFX3 (and other pinball games) and Pinball Wicked.

The ball is a bit slow. The ball physics are not quite there yet. At least it does seem better than TPA's.

The flippers move almost instantly and you don't see them being deflected by ball impacts. Real flippers move a bit slower and balls make the flipper deflect a little relative to their speed. I'm sure this wouldn't be easy to implement, but maybe something to add in the future. The more realistic flipper physics were only recently added to Pinball FX3 but it really improved the experience for me.

You can't aim the ball. I'm decent at Timeshock! and at the PinballFX3 Williams tables, I think I'm in the top 5 of most Williams tables. In those games I can make the ball go where I want it to at different ball speeds. I look at the ball and adjust my aim and I will either make the shot or at least be close and I will know I missed because my timing was off. In Pinball Wicked I have no clue where the ball will go. I can aim for the skull but that's pretty much it.

The skillshot will time out, is cumbersome and too easy. I'm not aware of any other table where the skillshot can time out. It's annoying, if I just lost the ball I want to take a moment and then continue only to realize the skillshot has timed out again! You can pause the game but having to do that is annoying. Then there's the slider and you have to hit launch at the right area. It takes up too much time and is too easy because it's always the same spot you have to hit and if you miss you just move the rollover target light. I just want to launch the game and play! I think a launch button like in Medieval Madness and Attack from Mars with both a regular skill shot and a secret skill shot would work better.

The nudge system is not great yet. On keyboard the up nudge is a bit strong. It's like punching the table everytime you nudge up. It also enables you to make bang backs. I used to think it was a part of pinball because ProPinball allows it but it's not actually allowed to do that on a real table. You can hurt yourself and damage the table. In PinballFX3 it can't be done on their Williams tables (except on two where they used too low a slope) and it plays much better.

Using a controller the analogue nudge is way too powerful. An up nudge will make the ball move half way up the table.

Tilt count carries over with extra balls and when you finally reach tilt you lose any extra balls you might have collected. This is just disappointing. Losing your end of ball bonus should be enough incentive to avoid tilt. It should be allowed to do anything in your power to try to save a ball using nudging without having to risk any extra ball you've collected. Tilt count shouldn't carry over either, playing any other pinball game when launching a new ball into play whether it's an extra ball or not you start with a clean slate in regards to warnings.

Playing on 'pure' you get pirate and skull drop down targets. They're in a similar style as the troll targets from Medieval Madness and they look and play great. Because you can't really aim they're tough to hit and when you do hit them there's a good chance you lose the ball, similar to Medieval Madness. In 'action' you get 3d animated skeletons and pirates which walk over the table and into your ball. You don't have to aim for them and they're pretty save to hit. Yet 'action' and 'pure' share the same leaderboards. The walking figurines look great but for fairness and the sake of the gameplay I'd like to see them removed. Out of principle I played it on 'pure' only, but for this review update I'd tried 'action' and now knowing how much easier the walking figurines are to hit how can I not leave it at this setting because pinball is all about scoring and surviving.

The kickout hole at the top of the playfield takes up too much time. When it kicks out it usually goes in the right rollover target, hits a bumper and goes back in the kickout hole. When you're in a timed mode and the ball is in the upper playfield you're losing precious time. It's frustrating! It would be slightly better if you could turn off your bumpers like you can in ProPinball, holding both flippers up for a second. Although the game flow would probably be better without the kickout hole or if it couldn't go back in using a one way gate.

There's a 3-ball and 5-ball leaderboard but since pinball is normally played with just 3 balls I don't play 5-ball. I like how ProPinball and PinballFX3 Williams have 3-ball arcade and tournament leaderboards. In tournament you usually don't get random awards and the table has a steeper slope (in PFX3 only I think) making tournament mode more challenging with shorter games.

I am not a real pinball gamer, I only play for the fun and not care about the rules. During 2018 I purchased some pinball games and today I purchased the Wicked bundle. And this is realy the first pinball game I like for 100 % from the start.

A lot off possible settings. Great fun to play for 9 to 99Y.

Really well made table with good physics.
There is enough going on with the table that I don't see myself getting bored with it anytime soon.
The graphics are fantastic and the sounds are great.

That being said 10 dollars for a single table is a lot. Pinball FX3, Zaccaria Pinball, and even pinball arcade all offer better prices and more variety.

I hope the developers find success with this game and continue to make more tables seeing as they clearly know how to make a great pinball table. But as of now the price is high enough I would only recommend this game if you have all or most of the tables from your other favorite pinball game(s) and are looking for one more solid table to add to the collection.

I'm a pretty big pinball player. I follow the industry, play all the newest tables, play in a few leagues, go to tournaments. I really like that there's now a pretty decent offering of PC pinball games now. It's great. However, it hurts me to say this, but they're not all good. This one is not good. I mean, its a good try, but the graphics are very muddy, and it is just not fun. That's it really, its not fun.

This is an expertly crafted digital pinball experience.

The engine and the physics are arguably a master-framework for seamless and natural play.

For me, and this is personal preference however, I just do not like the tables flow and layout. Therefore, since it is just the one table, I will be unable to enjoy the engine in all its glory.

I still highly recommend this game as if you can find that you enjoy the table where I have not, you will certainly be in for a treat.

I can only hope this development team continues to design and implement new and varied tables so that maybe I too can enjoy the fruits of their labor in the future.

I am not exactly sure what I should say about this game as of yet. Most of the pinballers on Steam really like it, and so far from my own personal interactions with this game, it seems to be the real McCoy, however, I am still hoping to see more content for this product and given how long this program has been available on Steam, I am getting doubtful of new content, however, it is still an "Early Access Game." All things considered, it seems worth it and darned good play through IMO, pick it up.

As a big virtual pinball fan, this has been one of the best experiences I've tried. Pinball FX wins on the multitude of tables and licenses, but if Formslingers can produce more tables like this, Zen's going to have some serious competition.
Graphics and physics are excellent. Gameplay for the table is deep and objectives are pretty obvious. This will easily end up in my regular rotation.

In a fairly crowded market this was a title I decided to miss for now until finding it cheap in the Fall Sale. Am I glad that I did though, haven't had so much satisfaction playing Pinball since the Pinball Fantasies series back a long time ago (although Pinball HD Collection came close), now with the excellent "ultra high" quality graphics this one looks to be a real winner and I expect to put many more hours into playing this game. Hopefully further tables will follow in due course. Budding and present Pinball Wizards please give it a whirl.......

A whole lot of fun to play. One of our families favorite pinballs to play on our virtual pinball cabinet. Really recommend it!

I'm a bit of a pinball fanatic, as my wrists can soundly attest to over the 40+ years I've been playing them, and Pinball Wicked is one awesome digital pinball.

I wasn't sure about Action Mode at first as I've seen others try similar effects but after one game I really loved it and mostly play in this mode now. I also enjoy the extras in the dev support option; the balls really feel different and have different properties in-game.

I'm really looking forward to seeing more tables from you guys. If you love pinball or even if it's your first time, give this a try. I'm pretty sure you'll have a great time.

Within about a minute of firing up my first game on Black Flaggers, it was clear that, though the graphics and playfield elements are suggestive of fantasy, this is a real ground-up pin simulator engine - not crudely repurposed video game physics(although I admit it's totally possible that it's stock Unreal physics code underneath). The ball, which defaults to a texture with "Black Flaggers" printed on it, really rolled and tumbled instead of just being a shiny sphere floating in space.

For that reason alone, this game is worth a look as a contender for "best modern pin engine." Pinball Arcade has a noticeably lower-res sim that gives some odd bounces at times, while Pinball FX tends to be overly smooth and light. In my recent experience real location tables tend to feel somewhere in between the two, but most of all are generally inconsistent in that playfield wear, levelling, ball, flipper and rubber condition are all "noise" factors that make every single bounce different. Games from different manufacturers and eras also have distinctive feel since they will use different flipper mechs, rubber types, etc. so it's not like there is any one way for balls to bounce or a definite speed they should return at. This game looks and sounds good and it sits in that in between space where one could imagine a real game dialed in like this, so it gets high marks from me.

"Okay, but how does it play," I hear you saying. Well, that's always a matter of taste. It's a pretty conventional fan layout with a dense upper playfield - there are hundreds of games that follow this kind of setup. I have no comments about the rules yet, but it's fun to shoot, and sometimes that's more important. It's the kind of game that gives you the occasional fast outlane drain, but lets you control most shots pretty easily since there's quite low flipper bounce, and this may be the most "video" part of it. I'm more of a "ball is wild" fan, but either way, in the "video pin vs. sim pin" spectrum, it's still heavily on the sim side of things and that's great in my book.

Wow, what a fun game! This one was a huge hit over Christmas with my guests. Graphic settings maxed out on the living room bigscreen is glorious. If you're even remotely into pinball, get this.

Very good pinball game. Very good physics and fantastic graphics. Personally I prefer simulations of real tables (like Zacarria and Pinball Arcade) but this one has the right mix of real physics and "video pinball", The table is relatively deep and can be played over and over again. I ended up buying the supporter pack because I was so pleased with the game. Well done! (BTW works perfectly with proton on Linux)

Like other reviewers have mentioned, a lot of potential here. This is however for hardcore pinball fans while in Early Access.

I am on the fence after a small few plays. The reason for that is that, like real world pinball, there are periods of "nothing" where you're just bouncing around in the less than exciting/interesting parts of the machine. I know that's part of the skill behind pinball, to get the ball to where it needs to go, but those boring bits become a little too accentuated seeing as this is still a 1 table game.

Visually, the game is great. It does the pirate theme a lot of justice.

Gameplay wise... 100% responsive, the way it needs to be. And that responsiveness can also make you feel like you're missing out while the ball is doing "stuff" up at the top of the table, yet you only have your basic 2 paddles at the bottom to work with (and limited nudge of course). Another table with a more dynamic set of inputs than just the default 2 would really show off that claim of "cutting edge" pinball simulation.

It is a good game, but for those like myself that have more of a casual attitude towards pinball... perhaps wait and see if this game makes its way out of early access and/or produces more tables. It looks like this has been on Steam for at least 2 years now... at least 1 more table needs to be added to keep the faith and encourage more interest. Even with the promise that new content will be purchasable DLC... at least one new table needs to be finished off and released. The engine itself seems solid enough for release... AAA studios push out games with far less finesse than this... git'er'done!

Long Review

I love pinball. I love going to the arcade to play and I love playing virtual tables at home. And when I saw the screenshots on the steam page I was impressed and excited. Before I start criticizing let me just say that the devs have clearly poured some very significant love into this game. It is a beautiful table and it has a lot of really cute touches.

BUT... I have to say every time I play this I am left frustrated and bored. The good news is this really comes down to three problems and they're very fixable.

First of all the sound mixing, or the confusing lack of sound effects. For you to have made such a beautiful table I'm willing to bet you devs have played a bunch of pinball yourself. And what I'd recommend is just pay attention to the sounds as you hit different targets on some different tables at your local arcade. You'll find that most targets and ramps will have a pretty punchy little sound clip. This is actually really important. First, it's just satisfying. It makes you feel like you hit a target and did something awesome. Part of why your table right now is kind of boring to play is I swear there's so many targets that either have missing or really underwhelming sound clips and it just becomes a snooze fest.

But the second and even worse issue with the sound is that even turned up all the way your damn narrator is so quiet and his instructions are often really vague and unclear. I honestly don't know how the hell your ship battle multiball actually works. Because the damn narrator is so quiet and doesn't tell me what I have to do. Honestly you have to at least turn him up with the mixing and preferably get the guy to record more voice stings that tell the player what the hell to do.

That leads me into the other really massive issue. Your table is stunning but its signposting is just plain terrible. With your narrator's already quiet and vague instructions it becomes even more essential to be able to see VERY clearly what the targets are to hit. And there is a serious lack of flashing arrows that identify what targets to hit for various events and modes. Maybe you have arrows somewhere in there? But if you do, they're blending in really badly and I'm missing them because I really have looked for them. Again PLEASE use existing pinball tables for reference. There's a wealth of experience from the likes of Williams, Stern, Bally, and others on how to really make the different objectives pop. I really encourage you to use it.

With that massive rant over let me just say I'm glad I tried your game because you clearly have worked hard on it and I'm happy to have thrown 10 bucks towards your project. I hope I see this fixed before the game leaves early access and I will be checking in on it every once in awhile.

Decided to jump in with Pinball Wicked when the 50% off sale dropped.

Having fun straight away with this table. You can see some serious love has been put into it.
Some immediate pros:
- Portrait support is in
- I really like the DMD work here, with some great little animations coming up. Can imagine these looking great on a full cabinet with a separate DMD
- Some great ideas for table models
- Not overworked with badly placed extra flippers

Some cons and things I'd love to see improve during EA:
- The ball doesn't look very nice. I checked my graphics settings to make sure, but the ball looks grainy and low res.
- As mentioned in some other reviews, I can hardly hear the voice over effects that chime in with helpful info.
- While I liked the table models and the effort in design to carry the pirate theme, the actual labeling and table graphic seems off. I got the impression I was playing a pinball table that had been built on top of an online Poker/Craps table. Casino-esque gold number values above the flippers. Too much green with all these square labels with rounded off edges (like playing cards) i.e. The Hostage and The Bullseye.
- R.U.M. gate lights seem a little bland
- the audio and visual design doesn't give the player much info to work with. As another reviewer suggested, check out the Williams/Bally/Stern tables and how the labels visually help you decipher where to shoot/how many times etc. How the sound effects play when you hit that ball lock or extra ball. (To be fair I did enjoy the Jackpot effects during my first multiball)

Overall I think this title has some awesome potential, and the current table is certainly fun and playable.
I'm looking forward to seeing this design improve, and also the future content.
If you're currently playing fx3 or TPA, and you'd like to be a part of some promising unlicensed designs being built from the ground up, this might be the Early Access title for you

I'm having stuttering issues, which I would attribute to some kind of garbage collection. Occurring every 5-10 minutes, lasting 20-30 seconds each time. Makes the game pretty unplayable. Let's hope it's only me.

7/10
"Solid - not new nor creative - Pinball."
The Pinball Wicked table is definitely not really innovative and for me the pinball(s) just feel too light. But I love those awesome pinball skins and it's still, another pinball table which needs to get your highscore!

Pros:
+ great --
+ very good ball skins (dlc)
+ good physics
+ good graphics
+ okay gameplay
+ okay atmosphere
+ okay sound/music
+ up to 144fps

Cons:
- only one table
- ball feels too light
- table is not really intriguing
- some unsuitable mission music

Wishes:
?? more tables
?? ball needs more weight
?? more pirate atmosphere
?? improved ball roll sound

Verdict:
Okay table with beautiful pinballs.

I'm not a pinball league player like some of my buddies IRL, but I think even they would enjoy this game if they can accept it's only one table. Cost me 5 bucks on sale and previous reviewers liked it. Only played one game so far but it was smooth, stable, and the graphical fidelity is good. Consider it if your pinball player and bored during quarantine.

Erbkaiser

A beautiful original table made with a lot of love, but the physics suck. The ball bounces all over the place as if it has moon gravity. The slingshots can actually launch the ball all the way over a ramp!

I'm also not a fan of how the Pure mode is harder than the Action mode. Let me explain, in Action mode the dead man pirate and some other targets are animated characters that walk around on the playfield, allowing many opportunities to hit them with the ball, but in Pure mode they are static objects which can only be hit from a single angle.

Still, there is a lot of potential. I'm also happy to see it is actually under development. I will keep an eye on how it goes and update my review if problems get fixed, but for now I cannot recommend it for the bad physics.

Was a big fan of Digital Illusions: Pinball Dreams and Pinball Fantasies on the Amiga, since then, no pinball game that I've played has come close, until now. esp love the features that would be impossible on a real table, such as the shambling zombie pirates.
I just hope there's more tables to come :)

The flipper physics on this game are awful.
Dear dev team, please go out and play a real modern pinball machine, then adjust your game accordingly.

For the rules, this is the same "we can put as much tiny inserts on the game as we want, so complete this arbitrary spelling feature on each shot to start a timed mode which runs in the background unnoticed, and if you complete it we will flood you with extra balls" that somehow always ends up in these games.

Once the physics are better this could be an enjoyable game because the art, VFX, sound and music are great.

I would recommend this game, its great, the only disappointment is that i hear that the triggers / msg queue etc have not been made available to the virtual pinball community for full integration into doflinx.

Hopefully this something the devs could look to do in the future and it would probably give this game more staying power.

It would also give Form Slingers more legitimacy akin to zen within the virtual pinball community that use vpforums, vpinballuniverse, pinball nirvana , the discord channel etc.

From there this could become potentially a platform whereby you could justifying launching different tables
where you know to a certain degree there would be a base audience from cabinet owners/enthusiasts rather than a single game amidst a sea of other steam games.
It makes good business sense IMHO.

Great game though thanks,

Kindest regards Mike

If you're a virtual pinball enthusiast - you should add this to your collection. It isnt as efficiently coded as Zen pinball, but the graphics and play field look slightly better too - so you will need a beefier GPU for max setting. My 3060TI handles it well as dose my 2060, but older hardware or current gen APU's by amd cannot do this at 1080p with any kind of quality.

So not appropriate for a virtual pinball table running older hardware, but it plays like a dream on newer hardware just fine.

Pinball Wicked has only 1 table, but it's the fanciest table in digital pinball. It has the best graphics of any pinball game, perfect Pirate of the Caribbean movie vibes down to sound-a-like music, and plenty of things to discover on the table. Get this on sale for $5 or less and you won't regret it.

Black Flaggers is a very unique table in the way the ball reacts to your flippers. It feels more akin to launching cannonballs than pinballs so the whole gameplay is dictated around these peculiar physics which make accurate shots harder than on a regular table.

Other than its peculiar gameplay for a video pinball table this is one exciting experience for anyone thats into pinball and/or theme of the table itself which is excellent with great visuals, music and sound effects. So as long as you don't mind the feeling like you're not totally in control and just managing to keep as many balls in play so you can get some good things going (at least thats how it feels to me) and see all the plenty of goodies the table has to offer... I heartily recommend it.

If you can only afford one pinball table, this is among those to look at. It's got exciting music, sound effects, and game-play, lots of features and modes, and great visuals. I'm kind of a pinball nut, for both sims of real-world physical tables and original ones that exist only as bits. This is a phenomenal example of the latter. You can set it to behave like only a physical table, but that's...making half the fun walk the plank?

Gorgeous graphics and animation. Very impressive voice acting, with the possible exception of whoever says "Jackpot" when you achieve one. A foley artist who really knows their stuff. And holy cow, that music! Someone put real time and effort into the soundtrack, and I I'm pretty sure it's gotten noticeably better, recently. More orchestral, and more atmospheric.

This game also highlights how many of the Pinball FX tables—OK,the ones that I've bought and played—show a desperate lack of imagination. A bunch of different ramps and a couple of figures that stand on the sidelines, occasionally moving? Really?

"The review's the thing." Back to it. If you've got enough machine to play this (I can, pretty comfortably, on a GL753VE) and love pinball, buy this game. Then try to keep the grin off of your face, every second you're playing it.
