Easy to play with access to a large amount of puzzles. Best way to puzzle without the pieces.
Nice and relaxing! Great to play while having your morning coffee!
i use to enjoy this a lot (as you can probably tell by looking at the number of hours i played it). however, recently and out of nowhere the developper decided to replace the existing ui (which wasn't exactly a 10/10 tbh, but it very much served its purpose and added a lot to the overall relaxing vibes) with something that can only be described as GARBAGE. no one asked for a stressful ui that doesn't even display all the stuff you want to know. no one asked for a removal of the miniature pizzle preview. no one asked for flashing, trembling buttons. the game was good the way it was. right now i can't play it anymore.
don't get this, not even on discount. the current ui isn't worth a single cent.
After the dev's for some reason decided to rework the UI,the game is now a broken and buggy mess. It is now cluttered, ugly and many part is so buggy they do not even work.
For those that think achivments matter the dev's have decided to remove earned achivments without explanation or notificaton. So beware in the future if the dev for whatever reason decide to remove some achivments.
Some Puzzles are also broken, giving wrong info, with confusing new Puzzle UI, that also is partly broken, and partly not even made to function at launch.
After new UI I've stopped playing, i just cant bring myself to play it any more.
Easy puzzlin' - no rotation - lots of dlc - just great casual gaming that you need sometimes. Every solved puzzle gets you an achievement which is nice somehow. Interface is a bit 2000 but it serves its purpose. Kids like to catch the fish which serves no purpose otherwise.
Solid jigsaw game. I can't do real puzzles because my kids and my back ends up hurting. The settings make it easier or harder. I don't LOVE that more puzzles cost money, but then real puzzles are more expensive so I just wait for sales on the DLC. But the free version of this game has a good amount of free puzzles and that was enough for me for a while. Overall enjoyable if you like puzzles to begin with.
A casual jigsaw game to pass the time, l particularly like the monthly challenge. Plenty of achievements for hunters like myself. Unusual piece shapes help to raise the difficulty level. My only complaint would be that many times I get graphic lag as the puzzle pieces float around the screen. I have a decent gaming computer, so I'm surprised this game causes my computer to chug so slowly, making me wonder if it's my computer or poor optimization.
Rating: Average
Price: DLC Paywall
Masquerades as a free puzzle game. For anyone interested in playing this for the achievements you're going to be paying up big cash a looong time. The price for each DLC is way too high for me to even consider it any further, even on sale! Big NO from me.
I just love this game. I've always loved jigsaw puzzles and this game allows me to work one anytime without the trouble of losing pieces, etc.
some of these puzzles are really nice, challenging
Yes for patient player. But no because of very expensive adon. Also, If you play for achievements, know that it will takes years of playtime onless there clues i should know!?
Very good solitaire replacement. :D
The base game is good. I've never had it crash. There is a free puzzle every month. By completing puzzles you earn tokens that can be used to "buy" more stuff. However, unless you get them on sale, the price of the DLC puzzle packs add up very fast. You can't pick what piece style you want. You can't pick what size puzzle piece you want. Overall 7.5 / 10
This is quite relaxing and easy to put away. Digital clean up is so much better than 1000 pcs on a table or mat and losing one to the dog so you can never finish it anyway!
Puzzle variety is great, and the extras are also good.
I have a new appreciation for digital jigsaw puzzles after spending more than a 180 hours lost in this game. I don't have to worry about finding space to lay the puzzle out, the worry of somebody messing with it or knocking it over, or the fact I might have to put the puzzle away because I need the space. Just the sheer number of puzzles offered in this game is awe-inspiring and there are enough of them I should be busy (and broke) for the rest of my life. Puzzles range from the small (100+ pieces) to quite large (800+ pieces). Edges are varied. One I solved was basically all straight edges which was a lot of fun to do. Only thing I wish it allowed was the "box cover" on the page to help you solve the puzzle isn't large enough to see some of the finer details of the picture and doesn't allow you to zoom in on it or enlarge it in any way (at least I haven't found it if it is there). Not sure I can explain this so it makes sense but so far there are monthly free puzzle challenges that earn you a special token. Free hints are earned through placing pieces. You can use the free hints you've earned along with the special win tokens to purchase and unlock other puzzles (though I do find the process a bit complicated). I purchased one puzzle that way but it took me a while to figure out where the puzzle I bought was....they stay in their own little section and do not join the rest of your purchased puzzles on the main game screen. I just love that there are LOTS and LOTS and LOTS of puzzles to do. Oh I almost forgot..... you have the ability to go back and reset the puzzles back to their beginning and replay the puzzles. THAT to me is an important feature of any game....replay ability. This game has that!
interface is decent and the puzzles are quite varied overall.
It does what it says on the tin.
Constant new content, challenging puzzles. Don't expect to have 100% achievement for long, if ever. Great for puzzle lovers.
It's a very adequate jigsaw puzzle game. My main gripe is only being able to put pieces in their right place and not being able to connect the pieces together outside those specific locations. It's the biggest flaw that the game has, but it's something I personally can live with. The menu UI is absolute garbage as well but the puzzle building UI doesn't get in your way.
If you like jigsaw puzzles, this is one of the better puzzle games on Steam and you get quite many free puzzles. It also works well on Linux through SteamPlay (Proton).
Pixel Puzzles Ultimate is pretty much my go-to game when I want to take a break from all the other games I've bought on Steam and keep neglecting to play. :P
Jokes aside, this really lives up to the "Ultimate" moniker in the title, with the amount of puzzles, the unique cutouts for the puzzle pieces, and new content added on a regular basis. Granted, the majority of additional puzzles come in the form of paid DLC, but the DLC can almost always be purchased whenever it goes on sale.
Amazing game with hours upon hours of content
And always new things.
Wonderful puzzles for when you need a break from destroying the dungeon, shooting up zombies, or saving the galaxy.
This is an excellent game with so many extra benefits and add - ons ... especially during the Christmas Season and their daily gifts in their Advent Calendar. It's not to be missed! I highly recommend this game as it just keeps on giving. And because it is a game that does just that I have nominated it for the "Labor of Love" Award.
It could be called a DLC cash grab but the free puzzles still take a lot of time to complete and it would make sense for them to want money for the work they put into the game, not to mention that each DLC puzzle pack usually take a lot of time to complete themselves, and every week like 10 different packs go on sale
Really enjoyable game
Settings to your requirement easy to hard
A good range of pieces
Very enjoyable game that simply allows players to assemble jigsaw puzzles digitally rather than cluttering up the dining room table and house. For those complaining about the cost of the DLC, for a few dollars, you get five to ten new puzzles, which would cost considerably more if purchased non-digitally. There are settings that stop the pieces from spinning, snap into place once in the correct spot, and several trays to store alike pieces. If you enjoy jigsaw puzzles, you'll enjoy Pixel Puzzles Ultimate.
Nice and relaxing jigsaw puzzles as hard as you like it to be.
I love the relaxing nature of jigsaw puzzles, without having to worry about my toddler eating the pieces.
Definitely a thumbs down because pieces don't stick to each other, they only stick to the grid board!! Half the fun is solving small portions of the puzzle and then combining them together. You can't do that on this game, the pieces will only snap to the predetermined grid. It's a shame, since I really wanted to like it.
great for anybody that likes to do puzzles
This game is one of my go-to games when i want to chill out and relax. There are plenty of free puzzles to keep you busy and the DLC packs are very cheap and go on sale often. I love the option to turn on a rain sound effect and animation while you play.
The BEST puzzle game on steam.
Facts!
If you love doing Jigsaw puzzles you will love this and there no box's taking up all your closet room. The DLC packs are very well prices to the puzzles u are getting within them. The features are amazing, i love just sitting with the rain going down and jazz music doing the puzzles super relaxing, some help if u get stuck. It saves were u left off so u can leave and come back whenever and no bad fur babies eating pieces or killing the puzzle. There is tons of free puzzles and ways to get free puzzles and a monthly free puzzle u can do.
This is a game for true puzzlers who just like to sit down and do a nice jigsaw, but not for those who dont want many puzzles and just achievements. there is achievements for each puzzle including DLC which is nice if u care to do them all.
I like the variety of puzzles but I wish you could connect the pieces together if they're not in the right place but they would connect together.
The sheer number of achievements is too daunting for me, there are too many puzzles that have a high number of pieces. Basically I'm just not skilled enough to play this game and 100%, which is why I give it the thumbs down. But if you're a puzzle fanatic, there's no reason you wouldn't like this game.
I bought this for my wife who is a real puzzler her whole life we have puzzles on our walls
She likes it but the limation is the monitor size seems above 400 pieces very small on monitor
ENJOY!
This is a rare case of a game I actually sometimes play but can't recommend, for some very simple reasons. Why can't you connect pieces to each other? Why can't you change the cut of puzzles? Why is the DLC, which must be nearly no cost to "develop," so expensive per image? And WHY, if all the game does is puzzles, do the images seem to have no thought behind them as to what makes an image fun to assemble?
In summary, why would I invest in a bunch of DLC when someone could easily put a better jigsaw puzzle game on Steam and I literally would have no reason to ever come back to this mediocre option again...
...and now I think someone did. I'm going to check out Super Jigsaw Puzzle: Generations.
Anyway, play the three Animated Jigsaws games instead. They are fantastic.
Please...stop...releasing...DLC....help....
Seriously it's getting out of hand - you barely have anyone buying and finishing the new DLC yet they keep releasing it consistently.
Please go work on your other puzzle games and stop milking this one like you have been for 6 years.
Okay for a free puzzle game. A lot of puzzles are locked.
For a free game it's quite polished. Monthly challenges that keep adding new puzzles.
The amount of puzzle packs can be overwhelming, my advice is to get some bundles during sales.
If you enjoy jigsaw puzzles this is the game for you
Lots of puzzles to choose from with varying difficulty. My favorite part is probably the monthly challenges.
New puzzles are added constantly as dlc, so trying to get 100% won't really work
A good way to spend a few hours here and there
Its a nice game, and nice relaxing music too!
Just a shame that expansions are so exspensive. . kinda makes it not worth it.
Perfect for when you have 15 minutes spare somewhere.
This game is really fun and easily one of my favourite games to just hop on especially on a hard day, the dlc isn't mandatory there is a large selection of puzzles to chose from honestly this was very well made and I can see myself playing this for years.
Love this game! The UI is very nicely laid out and there are a lot of puzzle packs to choose from. Lots of dlc but it's always on sale for really cheap plus free monthly challenge puzzles and a points system. You get gold pieces for completing normal puzzles and purple pieces for doing challenge puzzles. Purple pieces act as a bonus multiplier for the gold pieces. Get enough gold pieces you can use them in the in game shop to get free puzzles. It's neat! I like it.
A little puzzle once in a while, with a background music... and which doesn't take any room in my appartment.
If you're a trophy seeker, accept your fate, you will never have all 1898 ones... and keeps growing.
I've always loved puzzle games, so I'm not surprised I enjoy this one as well. Picking up additional puzzle packs while they're on sale helps.
Way too much DLC being churned out and not enough focus on improving and updating the actual game itself. It really puts me off playing.
And nearly 2000 achievements! :O
No thanks, see ya~!
Settings are a little wonky, but once they're tuned the puzzles are relaxing... and no more puzzle pieces hiding under the couch (that darn cat)!
Um excelente jogo para passar o tempo.
This is a good little time killer to jump into every now and then when you've got nothing else to do, or can't decide what to play.
Even though I won't go out of my way to get the DLC's (I got some in bundles, I think?), I can see myself playing this for years as there's so much content.
Great Puzzle game, I find the Zen mode very relaxing, free monthly puzzle challenge and new packs/ puzzles on a regular basis (free ones too :) )
Puzzle pieces snap to locations on the board, but NOT to each other.
This means you end up mostly having to work from the outside-inward every single time, even when you find a group of pieces that go in the middle of the board that should clearly be able to snap together (but don't, because pieces don't snap to each other in this game, they only snap to their location on the board)
I want to exit my game because I'm done playing but most of the time I quit because being forced to play in a way that just isn't natural for putting jigsaws together just gets too frustrating and I need a break from the frustration before I can eventually go back and see if I can finish the puzzle in the one way that this game allows you to play it.
There's another good review that mentions a bunch of the problems with only having a tiny space where we can place unsnapped pieces in between gaming sessions so I won't add any more to that but yes, everything that review talks about is also high on the frustration list.
They spent a lot of time adding animations and such that add nothing to the enjoyability of the game but failed to add basic essential jigsaw features that are present in almost every free mobile jigsaw game out there and that is really disappointing because it's easy to sink a lot of money into the scads of DLC they release for this game only to be reminded each and every time we play, that the free mobile games are actually a lot more fun to play.
I reeeally want to see an update to the base game itself (rather than just even more DLC) that adds those needed essentials to the game so we can all come back and give this game a thumbs up. Seriously, it would take only a few small changes to totally eliminate all the frustration with this game and make it a really great puzzle game. It's so close... but I don't really foresee them adding more playable improvements at this point. They seem pretty addicted to just selling DLC. (I'm absolutely willing to eat my words if they prove me wrong. I do, after all, have a bunch of their DLC that I would really like to actually be able to enjoy playing).
This game is quite lovely and has many free puzzles. I like many of its features. While I do not see myself shilling out 10 euros for a couple of new puzzles, whichever I did buy, I got when on offer.
I am a junkie for jigsaw puzzles and have tried every jigsaw game I could find on Steam. This one has among probably the highest production value, and yet is one of the worst to actually play for two reasons that make putting puzzles together an exercise in frustration rather than relaxation.
1. You can't interlock loose pieces together, pieces only snap to their place on the board.
2. Many of the puzzles use weird formats that make it hard to tell from looking at the pieces' tabs and slots which fit together. There are puzzles in which edge pieces are virtually indistinguishable from non-edge pieces because they're flat. This would be a lot more tolerable if loose pieces could be snapped together, so you end up not being sure which flat edges go together if they're solid colors.
If they ever add the ability to lock loose pieces, a feature even cheap perv jigsaw games seem to have no trouble implementing, then I will change my review to a thumbs up...but until then, the experience playing this just kind of sucks.
very relaxing after playing other complexing games
No wonder this game is free. I really thought I was getting a relaxing puzzle game, but all I got was a wannabe fun game. The game is a pain, no puzzle stick together, the game doesn't let you know, if the pieces you have place are correct or not, I ended up reseting my puzzle numerous times, due to the fact that placing puzzles is such a pain. I would not pay 1 dollar for this game. This game SUCKS.
if you like doing jigsaws without losing pieces this is for you
Stop adding achievements without a possibility to earn them!
Perfectly fine puzzle game.
Some people just seem to want to complain for the sake of complaining.
The puzzles are fun and the right amount of challenging; if the visuals bother you, you have the option to turn them all off in the menu, along with other options to make it easier or harder, if you'd actually bothered to look.
You can turn off floating pieces, turn off the water movement and the fish, highlight free pieces etc. You can even get rid of the sand texture and change the background colour to something else if you have difficulty with colours.
Menus are a little clunky, but they're easy enough to get used to and it's nothing game breaking.
This game is also great for Achievement hunters like myself who don't mind the long journey to completion.
Each additional DLC is cheap as all hell and they go on sale regularly so I have no issue getting them all either for a few cents to a dollar every so often.
If you like doing puzzles, then this game is perfectly fine for that. If this game is so incredibly user-UNfriendly to you, then maybe your issues are bigger than puzzle pieces.
At the end of the day, it's a free to play game and it's perfectly fine for what it is.
Do you see where it says the game autosaves your progress?
It doesn't.
So unless you feel like trying to complete a 1000 piece puzzle in one sitting, don't even bother.
Great game! I love jigsaw puzzles!
Has thousands of achievements but requires putting hundreds of $$$ into DLC. And they just keep adding, regardless of the quality of the pictures.
It is a jigsaw puzzle game. It can be difficult to sort pieces as you would physically but that is offset by the hints and pieces snapping to location when in the correct place. It would be nice to be able to zoom into the picture like you can look at the physical box of a jigsaw. The interface generally doesn't get int the way once you get used to it. My only real gripe with the interface is piece sometime do a 180 degree rotation rather than a 90 degree rotation. There are a good selection of free puzzles to try to decide if you like this. Overall I think if you like physical jigsaw puzzles this is a good electronic version.
-rep broke my mouse... you guys owe me a new one fr fr!!!
Unfortunately, there isn't an option in between recommending this game and not. There are basically two types of players for jigsaw puzzle games. For all except the edge pieces, one mostly works by looking mostly at the colors, the other by sorting pieces into different categories of shapes and then uses the shapes to narrow down the pieces with the appropriate color for each piece position.
If you work mostly just by color, you may find the layout and UI for this game adequate, but the second category of player may find some of the space restrictions irritating. There is a pool area with pieces floating in it from which to select pieces to sort. Unfortunately, there are only 5 sorting tray with very limited space. This only allows subdivision of the pieces into 5 categories, likely not enough to sort all the pieces. Additionally, the space allotted to the sorting trays will only accommodate roughly 1/3 to 1/2 of the pieces total and any pieces not placed in position in the work space or in a sorting tray is dumped into the floating pool of pieces when you exit the puzzle. This means that efficiency of solving the puzzle is hampered by only being able to really look at at most a random 1/2 of the puzzle's worth of pieces. The sorting trays are also very small, the 5 trays each accommodating sometimes as few as 25 pieces on the most restrictive trays.
I think that making the trays slightly larger at the expense of the floating pool area and expanding the number of sorting trays to 10 would solve most of these issues. One other helpful change would be to allow changing the background color of the trays, not just the work space, and maybe even allowing each tray to have its own background color.
In spite of the restrictive work space, I am recommending this game because I like the way the game is monetized. You can do many of the achievements without paying a cent, and there is enough free content to keep one busy for many months, maybe even years. On the other hand, if you want to do more puzzles and do more of the achievements, you can buy additional packs as needed. I don't know if there is any intersection between the packs (I hope not, as that would mean possibly buying some puzzles more than once if not warned). The achievements still require that you do the work, so that's all good.
My personal favorite game for digital Puzzles. Perfect to calm down after a stressful day to relax with some music or a podcast in the background.
The game has a good number of free Puzzles so you can get a feel for it and how it plays. There is a huge amount of DLC packs, so everyone can find motives they enjoy for sure. Mostly they are fairly priced and many of the packs are often on Sale, so if you have a bit of patience, you can get your favorite packs for a great deal a couple of times a year!
Besides that, there is a Free Challenge Puzzle each month for you to enjoy.
Pixel Puzzles Ultimate offers a hint system with 3 different kind of hints you can activate. They cost hint tokens to use which you will earn after you placed a certain amount of pieces correctly. After each completely Puzzle you earn Golden Puzzle Pieces, which can be used to purchase new Cursers, Backgrounds, Music and many new Puzzles in the Kiosk.
What PPU is missing, is a system that matching puzzle pieces can click together anywhere on the board. The Puzzle pieces only lock in their spot when they are in the right place. I don’t mind that, but I can see how this is a turn of for some, so I wanted to mention it.
The Music that comes with the game is relaxing but gets repetitive after a while. But it’s the perfect game to listen to something you enjoy in the background.
If you are a fan of Jigsaw Puzzles, I absolutely recommend you to give Pixel Puzzles Ultimate a try!
More fun than i expected. Recomand it if you enjoy puzzles
I have played this game for almost 2,000 hours! so much fun! its got great controls, graphis
and such fun!
Mindless stress-less way to kill a night !
if you love puzzles this is the game for you and you get free puzzles all the time
It still is a cash grab just like so many years ago. If You are a completionist - just stay away from this piece of cash grab.
It's Ok, for a time consuming black hole void.
What I really like about this game.
Love how we can sort the puzells into 5 different sections for easy find. This is really helpful.
The effects of the water running is relaxing.
Customize our theme and turn off music change music or just listen to the water, feng sheui.
The images DLC we can choose from are just georgous.
It saves the progress if I quit.
We can zoom in and out to view the pieces close up.
The main image could be larger but its a no brainer.
I've seen many feedbacks stating that the pieces wont lockin as a single piece anywhere in the main page this is not true so long as you have the piece correct way round just drop and pickup and it will slot into the right spot if you find it so we can work from different areas..
But if you get stuck as we progress we get hint bonuses to use.
Just a lovely game takes you to a peaceful place as your create your image piece by piece.
Very addictive and immersive..
One of the best Jigsaw Puzzle games on the market. A new (free!) challenge puzzle every month, and HEAPS of DLC puzzles as well.
Recommend for the family and jigsaw lovers
Love this game and the many varieties of puzzle it offers.
A very relaxing game that can be played while catching up on podcasts, etc. If you're into puzzles, and by looking at this page you probably are, then this is a great game with a very large library of puzzles.
It's just ok when you don't have anything to do and want to kill time
One of the rare puzzle game that doesn't include hentai pictures
I hate doing puzzles in real life, but I enjoy this game a lot. Go figure!
I love it. I love puzzles but can't do them, IRL due to asshat cats. The packs prices are fair and the variety of pieces makes for a great change
This is a great way to relax, especially if you are fond of jigsaws. Some of the themes can irritate and the fact that most of the puzzles are paid DLC is not so good. However there are enough free puzzles and challenge puzzles to keep you going for a while. Some of the DLC puzzle packs are not bad value, others not so much. It's a bit of a money grab and with no puzzle generator, slightly annoying but still something I like to while away an hour or two after doing more active and intense gaming
Jazeker een aanrader maar ik vind vooral de expansions goed! Ze kosten weinig, zeker tijdens de frequente sales !
Puzzel ze !
If you're a jigsaw puzzle addict then you should add this to your library!
It's a calm, chill game that saves progress as you go. For someone like me that may only have a few minutes while resetting my brain for the next task...this game is perfect since I can simply place a few pieces and pick up where I left off next time. It's got some customizations for backgrounds and other stuff, as well as the ability to get more puzzles and stuff just for solving puzzles.
One of the big complaints I see from others is instead of having over 300 individual games, the developer simply adds puzzles and associated achievements to the existing game as DLC. So while some scream about hundreds of dollars of DLC, I for one appreciate not having to scroll through over 300 pixel puzzle games alone in my library every time I want to move from "O" to "Q" in my game list. Talk about something that would drive me crazy every day!
I realize it isn't everyone's cup of tea, and that is especially true of achievement hunters who want to one and done a game. This game is not designed for achievement hunters - it will constantly drop you out of 100% by adding monthly challenge puzzles and new packs. You will have to spend more money without increasing your game library count if you want a chance to 100% the game again. I know it's a real crying shame that you can't buy the whole Pixel Puzzles franchise and add over 300 perfect games to your profile. If you can't handle having a game that you can't 100%...don't buy this game. There are over 50,000 games on Steam specifically geared for achievement hunters. Leave this one alone please K? Thanks, bye!
Good stuff. Got already 1000 hours on the steam clock. Also dozens of free puzzles available.
For relaxing and doing something this is ideal, especially if you like puzzles!
If you enjoy completing jigsaw puzzles then this is the game for you! I just wish there were more packs included in the initial download but the DLC's are cheap enough and seem to be on sale regularly.
You like puzzles? Look no further.
I am 58 yo father, probably one of the oldest people playing this game. I am single father to my Son, who is 14 now.
My son got this game for Christmas in 2021 from his uncle, so we installed it on his computer and he started playing. By the end of the week he had 40 hours on this game. This was horrible for me, as it was already hard for me to find ways to spend time with my son, as he always out with his friends or just watching some tiktok videos. So I decided to get this game to see if I could maybe play alongside him. I loaded into the game, picked my character and started playing but I what stuck on what you were supposed to do. I asked my Son for help and hosted a game for me to join. I loved it as it was the best time I had spent with my son since my wife had died. This game has ever since brought me and my son closer again and we actually spend time together outside the house together as well. This game reminded me that there's fun to be had in everything, it has brought me both and my Son many happy memories.
Pixel Puzzles Ultimate Jigsaw
10/10
