Very fun game, only negative aspect for me is some performance issues, but looking forward to future updates and would recommend!

This was a great game in the earlier versions. As of the more recent MACOS versions, the app will crash every time with the native MACOS and the windows version using crossover on an M1 MAC. If it does not support Apple Silicon it shouldnt have MAC support on the store page.

The art style for the game is really pretty, and it gives it a chill businessy vibe. The game takes a bit of time to learn the ropes and get accustomed to the way things work, but after a bit everything starts to fall into place. I'm glad they're working on a more detailed way to manage your companies with the holdings, because I want to monopolize the market and jack prices up even more efficiently.
All around great game, and hopefully will get even better once it reaches full release.

Hmm i don't think I can recommend this game. Its a little laggy. Waaaay to heavy on the pc (mine can both handle it though). The stockmarket sound is atrocious and cannot be silenced. The early game phase is very very boring and the late game to easy.

Save files are really, really huge and aren't steam synced. Huge dissapointment since i play on multiple pc's

Plutocracy is honestly underappreciated. It is an economic strategy game that puts you in the position of a businessman, and your ultimate goal is to become the richest and most powerful man in the world, through corruption and blood if necessary.

It's honestly pretty fun, and I'm excited to play more of it as time goes by. There are many different features and facets of gameplay which seem to make this game a replayable experience.

The major hang-up that this game encounters is that it is just so laggy. It can't really run at all on anything lower-spec, even though it is just a strategy game. In near every game review I have written on strategy games, I have stated graphics don't matter, but for the love of God if you're going to make my PC blow a gasket at least make the game look good!

The sad part is that I actually enjoy this game, but the lag and the slowness make it impossible to recommend for anyone without a gaming PC.

In short, the game is great but it doesn't play well on any conventional PCs. So don't buy it unless you have some sort of gaming PC.

I'll probably come back to it once I get a new PC myself so that maybe, just maybe I can enjoy this experience.

I can imagine this game being like Project Zomboid, which has taken years to make. Hopefully, this game will also hit a critical mass of players, and have more money for developers, and they can complete more of the features they want, and fix some of the game's shortcomings.
Overall, quite a neat learning experience in a game. It seemed kind of underwhelming at first, but before long I found that there were many different levels to the game.

A harsh love... ;)

An unique concept. Constantly evolving - increasing - scope and, thus, unstable mechanics.
For Early Access status, one should forgive numerous half-implemented features and limited optimization.

The latest large update (July 2022) significantly changed many key game elements and introduced a new ones as well as improved general stability. Unfortunately at a cost of increase in game breaking crashes.

They will be removed ultimately, but be prepared for a bumpy ride for some time.

Plutocracy is definitely worth trying while being prepared for some - sometimes critical - problems.

But let's give developers signal, its worth continuing work on this game!

I understand this game is not complete, but this is not acceptable. The campaign is completely missing, the game only works in sandbox mode and even that seems very simplified and limited. This just sucks basically. It is not even half a game, let alone a full game. This should not be for sale unless it was like $1. I played for under 1 hour and requested a refund. Crap.

props to the small development team for taking on such an ambitious task, there's really no game out there quite like it in terms of becoming a loan shark or a oligarch investing and running a company while lobbying state government to pass the laws that benefit you. The problem is when this game is listed as early access, it's definitely in early access, even being out for 3 years there is only a sandbox mode to play ,with limited options to customize the rules to fit every playthrough differently. The performance is also very poor, as the game progresses the lags become more severe to the point your game starts crashing regularly, im on a rig that's an RTX 3070ti, i9 10850k with 32GB of 3600Mhz memory so it's definitely nothing to do with the specs. Being as this is developed by a small team, the updates are also inconsistent, there will be many, many months where the game isn't updated, not even minor ones.

all in all I give this a thumbs up because there isn't a neutral thumbs option, the concept is really good but the execution is lacking. I look forward to revisiting my review in the future when more content is dropped and performance issues are fixed.

pretty niche, would only recommend if you're into economics sims. still a unique game that's got some passion behind it. poorly optimized atm but it has potential since it's still being developed.

Got it the day it released into EA. I thought about asking for a refund. It was really a skeleton of a demo. Now the Game has the foundation of a great game. The game is developed by a small team so you have to be paitinet but at this rate the game wont be good it will be great. Just might take a while. Also a big fan of the art style how could you not like it?

BEWARE, the game is very far from finished. The game idea is really awesome and I have loved playing it a year ago, however, recently the game has been having way too many bugs. Such as the "dynamic q" is displayed instead of populating values to the graph data, the game is not optimized at all, feels as if I am playing on a 90s pc. The game thinks that you went bankrupt if your income is negative even though you have millions of cash and make you quit the game. I think that the developers need to polish the updates prior to releasing them. There is no reason for new content if the content does not work or breaks current content. Currently would not recommend, however if and when the game is fixed I would love to rewrite the review. The game has been out long enough to be able to make the basic fixes.

Just keeps getting better.

I do wish they would rework agents and make them easier to use.

Some points to improve:

1. When owning a lot of companies, you constantly get spammed with random votes, would be helpful if I could delegate it to someone else
1a. Late game spam from lots of people asking to buy my shares, allow us to disable this
2. In votes, you don't see the company name, becomes a problem when you own shares in 50% companies
3. Lobbying is super tedious
4. Allow us to straight up bribe people instead of buying them horses and yachts
5. When owning shares in a company both as a company and as an individual, the game doesn't recognize you as a majority shareholder

So this game is fun, definitely worth it for its price point at the current stage. However, after like 30 hours into the game, it starts to get repetitive. I wish the game would dive deeper into certain aspects. For example, I wish we can dive strictly as a politician, or there were more ways to expand your company.

Good game. Right up anyone's alley if you dream of becoming a billionaire in the 18 - 1900s, or if you have an interest in economics or finance. This game has been in early access for almost THREE YEARS and the game still runs like crap. Very badly optimized with crashes and freezes all the time. I would love for them to just optimize/fix the game instead of adding new content all the time.
The longer you play the game the more the game will start to freeze..

the devs deserve a positive review for this game, just for the sheer determination with this project. As somebody who has actually been to Barnaul, I'm amazed how people from remote places get excited about this particular period of the american history and decide to make a game about it.

It's still in very early stages and the major updates are a bit spread out and overly massive and tend to take a few days of hotfixes and smaller patches to get balanced and running smoothly, but the game is slowly fleshing out. In it's current state it's mostly a Gilded Age investment sim, but it's an ambitious project with a lot of planned content on the way and I'm honestly looking forward to seeing it develop.

What else can I say? Epic masterpiece, should u have it completed and fulfill the promises, developers!
Just wondering, when will u guys finishing the game? I check the dev notes, seemingly there aint a regular schedule for update.

So far the gameplay is very limited, the first 5~10 hours should be all it is. Pretty much is repetitive operation (how about a regional manger? Someone who can auto negotiate deals?)
, and the characters setups r quite faint.
Moreover, here is a friendly suggestion, devs. U might want to add some more tutorial for new players, if you want more players to sit down and try it out. It took me quite while to figure out the basics, another hr to figure out how to make money, eliminate rivals, etc. More classic music, cut down the quarter loading (I confess, this is very annoying), more econ & enterprise setups, it is gonna to be perfect.

A note for starters. DONT BUY STOCKS AT THE BEGINNING.Make your fist bucket of gold from auction. This aint a spoiler, u dont get any other ways around. The rest? This aint a community post but a review, so u try it out. Dont give it up for the first ten mins, it is worthy of some of your time and patience, I assure u.

Ppl, this game is gonna to worthy it. Buy it now, try it out, give it time.
Devs, take your time, no need to rush, though I cant want to play the full game. If you need money, upload a support dlc like music pack. I dont know about others, but I am certainly buying.

P.S. : Speaking for balancing, how about start with trains? They always run out of the rail. Plus the argument cards could be absurd, despite I hit 5 stars ability.

Forsaken

I remember the times when we were waiting this game to be released for early access. It was delayed back to back multiple times. I know that no Developer does this on purpose, but it brakes people's trust. I am still skeptical if this game ever will be finished.

On the other hand, it mixes the Crusader Kings' relationship management system with Capitalism series. People management and business management goes hand in hand, so you can't accomplish one without managing the other. You can bribe, extort, be-friend, investigate, put a dirt, seduce, assassinate, etc every single person in the game to accomplish your goals. You can buy luxury items to increase your standing among men, or gift them away to gain powerful friends and build your network.

Currently there are multiple states to play with. You start in one, and slowly take over the country. Every state has their own laws, House of Representatives and Senate. You can use all the methods that are mentioned above on people who occupies these offices to gain political leverage, so they can help your businesses by passing laws that lowers corporate tax, or make a government contract with your businesses to increase their revenues.

I can see where they are going with this, and this is why I am skeptical about if we ever going to see this game finished. I want this game to flourish, because there is no other game like this in the market with this kind of vision, and probably there will never be.

My recommendation is, if you have some spare money, just buy this game to support these guys, but don't expect the game to be finished anytime soon, because they are slow. Let's hope they don't give up.

I was skeptical given some of the top comments. But if you’re like me and you love historical themes, finance, and Crusader Kings/Sims style management you will love this. The development appears to be speeding back up, and the devs are very proactive with bugs. The game’s tutorial is a bit weak, however if you experiment with it the system does explain itself eventually in my experience. I’m really looking forward to see what direction they take this. Also as a last note, I wouldn’t say this game is a “shell” or “frame” in its current state but rather just more causal (for now). But trust me, it’s still plenty deep.

The game got worst since the last updates.
It's just frustrating, I used to like to game last year but now i just hate it. It's not fun at all!!
Most company end up in bankruptcy of course only the one that you have share in.
BTW the game only give you the "easy" level of difficulty but i guess the developer did read the same definition of EASY than i have in dictionary...

The game is missing a lot of business type real-estate!!!, banking, retail stores (such Macy's, Bergdorf ...), early film industry, etc..
The focus of the company doesn't feel right, for example why would a company only focus on research only but not into production and/or work safety..

Save your money and wait 2/3 years for the game to be finish if it does.

The developers took the time to reach out to me and address the issues that I pointed out.
The game is in early access and still needs a lot of work, but it has the potential to be an amazing game once finished.
The artworks are stunning and well made and the core game mechanics are great, but like I said the game is still raw and in the early to the mid-development stage.
Would suggest buying this game to support the devs in finishing the project.

I give this game a thumbs up with a caveat, as there are a lot of things I greatly enjoy and then some frustrating aspects I dislike. My caveat is that I enjoy simulation games, and I'm a sucker for Line Go Up games like this where I get to see my character make a bunch of money I wish I actually could make!

I've read some complaints of lack of updates, and communication from Devs, but personally I have not noticed/experienced this. They seem to be rolling out updates regularly, and when I encountered a game breaking bug they responded quickly and then fixed said bug just as quickly too.

Overall, the game is fun and relaxing. It's fun to invest your money into companies and see the line go up, or down if the investment goes sideways, or become a loanshark and constantly loan out your money then summarily have the suckers who you loaned money to roughed up for not paying you back! You can invest in a range of companies such as oil, transport, mining, etc (I believe currently they only have 5 company types available as of 8/12/21). The devs also seem to have a bunch of cool plans for the future, and I look forward to seeing them!

Some of the downsides I've experienced so far that I hope get modified involve the lack of clarity on how exactly a company succeeds, I've yet to truly figure out how to *actually* know if the company is doing good or bad, even when I've invested in them and I get all the extra financial information you'd expect if you were an investor in a real company. The current dividend screen leaves some to be desired, and I believe I remember it being different than it currently is and I hope it gets modified to better allow for more control over it.

Another complaint I have is the randomness feeling of certain aspects. For example, if you're trying to buy stocks from someone, it feels completely based upon RNG than anything else. Same goes for getting Agents. What potential fix could be implemented to better this system? I don't know, but it can be frustrating when you have a 60/40 chance of 'succeeding' in your negotiations only to have it fail because the ticker just... lands a hair on the other side of 60!

I will also say that I am doubtful that the Devs will actually be able to keep to their full release in 2021 schedule, which is personally fine with me. I'm enjoying the game currently as it is, so as long as they continue to update and respond to bugs, they can take as long as they want imo.

I can't properly comment on the Politics side of things since I haven't really dabbled in it much.

Complaints aside, I again have to recommend the game if you're someone who enjoys simulation games that involve making money. The future plans the devs have for the game are exciting, and I look forward to seeing them expand further on the game!

Save your $25, this is maybe worth $4.99 at best. I get that it is alpha, but that generally means at least 50% of the game is playable. The amount of content you can access is maybe that of a demo, and thats if you can figure out how to play. There is little to no instruction.

It looks cool, but the content isn't there and no release date has been announced. I recommend against purchasing unless you're looking for a 20% completed game with no updates on its progress.

Agent cards. Remove them. No....
Honestly, it is beyond wrong... you have billions of dollars but if you want to hire a PI or even just call a news paper, well first random citizens with little or no influence or money can give you magic cards because apparently everyone in the country has unlimited cards to give away except for you despite how rich you are so you have to give them millions up millions and they may or most likely will not give you the card that you want... why be rich or have money? No reason its not like you can use it to buy services, well, not without special cards because this is apparently actually a new card based form of communism where the state controls access to all services via a system of secretly distributed cards only available to everyone but you... that's not a good feel for a game called plutocracy.
I would say it goes as far as to break the entire concept of the game and devalues the point of influence and money in the game to being almost meaningless in a strange dystopian system of card based service-communism simulator. Actually that could be a cool game but it is out of place here.

Honestly what is overwhelmingly clear is that the developers of this game don't live in the USA and have a poor, propaganda influenced understanding of the USA with hints of an underlying communist ideology, in short, it's rather clear that the developers are based in Russia or China

In a capitalist system money is above all else and you don't need state permission or special secrete magic cards or connections to buy a service or conduct business. So kindly either rename the game to Dystopian Magic Secrete Card Based Service-Communism simulator or remove this feature and anything else you might want to replace it with from the game .

In fact I should be able to build my own news papers and run my own detective agency, collections agency, crime-ring, church etc. Letting me use many agents of the same type at the same time for free, assuming the agency makes money.

Safe to say I have played enough of this game to write a review. As someone who has seen this game evolve slowly over time I can say that it is a fun game, but buyer beware just like any in beta game is it isn't completely done.

2/9/22 A quick update to my review is the game has received a few updates that flesh it out more and makes the game run longer but the devs are currently working on a story scenarios which in I think the game should be more fleshed out rather than adding a one time story mode. Anyway love the new updates but the game feels less stable now with more crashes than I have ever experienced. Overall I still recommend the game but wait for it to go on sale.

The game is still early on and still has a load of features. You are able to buy stock through the stock market, buy from other people, and puppet, or befriend people in political office. This game is coming along nicely.

I've always loved economy management games such as Capitalism 2 or Patrician 3. Plutocracy has its rough edges, since it is still in early access, but it is slowly coming along as more features, such as the stock market keep being added. I do rec this game, but I also want to inform anyone interested that this project has been worked on for two years, and based on the ambitions of the developer, there still seems like quite a bit of balancing and development to go.

really excited for this game to be updated. at the current moment of course there are some problems.

my first issue with the game are the strikes. it seems as if people just strike all the time, could happen multiple times a year or multiple times for years in a row. and almost every company is just affected by strikes. youre making good money then suddently almost all the companys you invested in strike until they go bankrupt. its seems as if the way companies is affected is very one dimensional in the game so far. i dont think there were many year long strikes no matter what time period.

most other things in in the game i like, like competing against the A.i to see who can build more wealth and am excited for the larger maps to unlock.

currently i havent been able to get very wealthy because every company just constantly strikes until bankruptcy so ya know. but i know it will be updated and improved.

As a simulation game enthusiast, I really wanted to like this game. However, this game is unplayable. Most features listed on the store page haven't even been developed yet or are shown as "in development" in the game. As of right now you can't even change your starting cash or starting map. I understand this game is still in early access. But every single early access game I've ever played had waaaay more content than this. The current version of the game is also full of bugs and doesn't even run smoothly. The time to load a save is literally longer than my Skyrim with 50+ mods. This game overall DOES NOT justify the high price tag for an early access game. It's like the someone took everything wrong with Cyberpunk and Battlefield 2042 and put them together.

I have played this game for a wile now and i really enjoy the game i will say tho that the one thing i wish they would add is a option to buy to entire company instead of having to go through each person. i feel like it would help more in mid to late game when you have enough money to buy the whole company. other than that i love the game and will keep playing i cant wait till the campaign is out too.

I love this game and the content it simulates. The mechanics of the game are amazing! I noticed a couple minor graphical bugs and a very minor performance issue during one session but it was easily fixed by reloading a previous save. In this game going back to a previous save is almost cheating, because by then you have learned so much more of the game mechanics.

Is it playable? I would give it a 9.5 out of 10. Is it immersive? I would give it a 8 out of 10, but mind you I am one of those old school gamer pursuing game mechanics instead of high graphics for an economy simulation game. I have a better understanding of real world concepts because of this simulation.

What do I find tedious and hope they will fix or change? The company strikes. It is not clear why the stupid workers are causing problems. I wish someone would tell me. The assistant just said "they when on strike" yes but why? And more importantly, how do I keep them from causing me too much headache? The other thing is the letters and messages. If I am not interested in politics, can I tell the mail man to just trash those letters and news automatically? Or at least give me a delete all button. I feel like Simon Cowell, going thru a bunch of bad just to get to a good one. Now I understand why he is so harsh.

In total I recommend this game, there's a lot to like about it, starting with the premise. It being early access does mean that some of the updates are hit or miss, and for the most part of this year those updates made the game worse in my opinion. The addition of the stock market got my interest up enough to give it another play and I found that it had made the game considerably better.

There are quite a few things that could be tweaked/changed/added to make the game considerably better though:
-AI character motivation is weird and doesn't make any sense really. Of course I understand the function in general is to make the game challenging but at times, most times, the actions of AI characters don't really make much sense, a good example of this is mergers. While mergers does dilute the AI share in x company the resulting merged company will often times be more than 2x the size of the current company and have a much better financial outlook than one company alone, however the AI (never in my case) presumable rarely votes in favor of a merger. There are other situations similar to this, in essence most actions in the entire game lead you face to face with an almost always adversarial AI. The systems in place to turn that around or to build loyalty are really just not important enough to mess with because there's always a work around to the problem in most cases, but the work around often comes at the cost of enjoying the game.
- The actual running of businesses is too simplified and easy to manage affecting late game play. Cut cost, increasing worker output, turn profit, pay off debt, and bam you've built an unsinkable ship, repeat this two or three times in the same industry and state, merge those companies, you've created a money factory. Repeat this by state and you've created your empire. My best suggestions for tweaks would be to A) be able to your company from zero in new states; for example if you own generic oil company in California, that company would be able to put up the capital to start a new business entity in Oregon, this would build realism but also a since of pride in a players playthrough. Also this would go a long way towards building backend interest in the game. B) rework the business management system and streamline that part of the game, there are roughly 20-25 things the game tells you about your company and very few of those can actually be affected much, meaning most of them are actually pretty useless. Some sort of rework or really just cleaning up of this screen into better categories could make it more useful and allow for more player input.
- The politics of the game are overextended, tedious, and totally useless in reality. Sure you can spend ten minutes gathering up the ability to to bribe an official or get a in with a congress person or you could not do that and day trade and probably make more money. To me, I feel that the web of influence and the building of the political system is just too muddled, it's very simple but very very tedious. The reality of the world has and always will be that money talks, a far more simple system can be made by donating a truck load of cash to a party, thus providing a spread of influence within it, rather than going person by person and gaining influence that way. The current system is really just making the game longer and more complicated for no real reason.
-Finally, the stock market, which is the newest feature is good, but could use tweaks and causes conflicts within the core system of the game. Why would I buy share five dollars above market price when I could just buy them at market price over the course of a couple of weeks? It doesn't make much sense, does it? One of the major issue in the current stock market system is that all share are owned by characters, so if that character won't sell you their stock, you can still buy it on the market if you buy enough of the stock. This either means the negotiation systems needs to be reworked- which is does- or there needs to be a generic public percentage of stock created within a company that players can buy and once that share is bought there are no more shares available to buy on the open market.

Pros:

-Fun
-Teaches you a tiny bit about irl markets and such

Cons:
-Quite hard to properly learn
-A few bugs
-Not 100% done

This game is still in Beta, but even so it is still an amazing game, the game can become quickly repetitive, but all you do is create a new save file, and boom, you've got a whole new experience with new companies too. I would recommend this game to be bought in 1 or 2 months once its got more features, but even so the game is fun now too.

For whatever reason, this game runs at 1 FPS after the major update with the government and UI overhaul. I can run ARMA III, War Thunder, Witcher, Dark Souls, etc. with ease. This game? Literally kills my frames until I Alt-F4.

I really like the game, I've played it using different investing approaches and I can't wait until more updates come. Can I recommend the banking industry being opened up next? I can only imagine how differently we can play around with the stock market with our own Bank profiting of losers and winners. Big fan from South Africa I can't wait for the full release.

You can’t even sell companies. It’s like a game ruining thing that continuously makes me regret playing the game. Could and definitely should be added asap. If I can’t sell a company I spent time growing there’s no point to growing the company except returns which is definitely not enough when you take control of a company and 10x it’s value. LET ME SELL PLEASEE. Will not be playing again till it is added so please do get to it soon. I enjoy the game but such a little thing should definitely be implemented by now and it really does ruin the experience once you’ve already put a lot of time in. Makes it hard to even open the game back up.

Great economy sim game. A little overwhelming at first but once you break it down state by state, and split up industries you will be paying off sentors and fixing elections. I hope the devs keep working on the game cause its amazing and all future features seem rad. All in all 10/10 would pump stonks of companies on strike.

This is a cautious yes, Plutocracy has a lot of potential, and I encourage you to buy this if you can afford it to support development of the game and take a look at its gameplay, I have both positive and negative observations:
- The game is deeper than its graphics suggest. There is a lot going on there. The economic system, insofar as company management is concerned, is untraditional and a bit puzzling at first, but cleverly designed when you plunge into its mechanics. You control only a few select strategic variables: whether to expand your company and by how much, salary level, intensity of work (called workplan) research budget (5 choices from nothing to a lot), and dividend levels. You can also place your character to a different role in the company to positively influence one of the variables that goes into calculating net income,

- The political system looks good but is a bit difficult to apprehend. Twenty six hours in, one of my characters it the richest man in the USA but I am still unable to figure out how to implement a strategy to get my guys in power in even a single state or correctly lobby.

Now the negative observations, and I hope developers will read as they concern core but easily rectifiable mechanics (changing some values without changing the underlying algorithm).

- The dividend levels are almost always set at 90%+ of a company's income. This means very little growing and crazy ROIs for investors. One of my first moves is typically to invest in a stock with high profitability and high dividend yield: I am then making 15% or 20% of my initial capital every single quarter meaning if I invest my initial $100,000 into a company with high profits and high dividend yields, I make my investment back within a year and a half only, which is incredibly short, and then profit massively with cash flow coming in. This leads me to my second critique:
- Despite the system's depth, it is very easy to get very rich. There are two paths to wealth, but you always should begin by identifying a company with high profitability and high yield. With each round, you can initiate votes to expand it, which will almost always be accepted and increase the market value of the stock, and reinvest the cash flow you gained from dividend you the previous quarter holding's into buying more stocks at the stock market. You do this for some time until you either sell your stake (do it through the market, over several weeks/quarters so as not to crash the value suddenly) or get a majority share in a company.
Once you have a majority share, you have two paths again. They are not mutually exclusive. One is to bet on the value of your company. Then you want to reduce dividend levels to a minimum, max up research budgets, and expand whiles till avoiding overproduction. Your increase in immediate income will be very limited, but the value of the company should go strongly upwards. In this case, you do not need to acquire all the shares of the company, a simple majority is enough.
The second is to use the company as a cash cow. If it makes a good income already and the company is huge and has little perspectives to expand in the state, then you can probably use it as a cash cow. First, buy out everybody else via the stock market over several quarters so you don't massively overpay. Second, raise the dividends to 90% and use the millions generated to buy other companies.
- Unless there is a historical reason for this it seems to me the economic system should be structured in such a way that incentivizes growth over massive dividends. This would make things slightly more complicated for the player (so please do make the 1M start available!) and make for more important strategic choices when managing companies.
-A banking system should absolutely exist. The player should have access to a credit line that is roughly equivalent to his wealth. To use with caution and increase returns...or to fall into a fatal debt spiral.
- Please make the political system easier to understand. I know US politics very well yet I can't figure out how to effectively mount a lobbying campaign. I can do less things, it's less immersive,
Good luck to you guys, the game is en route to being a good game, but some pretty significant improvements still need to be made to make this review into a total endorsement,

Its pretty fun game. If u can look past a crash every few hours, its quite fun and a lot to do.
But i think it could use some work. I've beaten the game once on easy and once on medium.
I would love to see the ability to make up a start up company, so u start a company from scratch.
Also i think some of the aspects needs rework. For example, influence and politics are not needed to win the game (if the goal is to become the worlds wealthiest). On easy i become the world's richest in 1888 (game start in 1870). i decided to continue, by 1901 i was 1 billion worth, 2nd place was only 225 mil worth. I did it without using any influence or using agents or using politics, and i barely made any negotiations. I beat the game on medium by 1887 (because i now know how to do it faster).

1 thing i think need some serious THOUGHT is the fact when someone wants to buy a portion of shares from a company u have shares in, and u decline the deal (even though they approached you), u get negative reputation with them. Which i think is weird, even with the skill that normally have 70% chance to deflect the negative reputation hit if a deal fails, it's not taking into consideration. I made 5-6 new enemies in 8 years, just because i didn't want to take the deal they offered me. I get that if YOU as a player want to negotiate a deal, and it fails u get negative reputation with the person you try to buy from (because u have "wasted" their time). But i fail to see why i get negative reputation with someone just because i don't take the deal, they offer. I can't even negotiate a price with them to sell, i have to accept their deal even if its below market share or face negative reputation with them. This system needs rework for sure!!

Also companies seems to easy to generate money once u have 51% shares. i brought a company for below 2$ per share, brought 100% of shares. Set the dividends to 5%, started auto building big buildings, after just 3-4 years the shares was worth 45$ each, i then sat the dividends to 35% and generated a shit ton of income. as soon as u control 1-2 companies with 100% of shares you have basically won the game, its just a matter of time.

Would be fun with some different endgame goals, other than: Wealth and influence. For example: Control 25% of market share/cap of a certain company type in USA or: have 5 of ur assistants as governors. just a few examples.

Besides that its a fun game for sure. But needs more work.

Overall Thoughts:
This game is a slow burn, it takes awhile to learn and to get anywhere but once you accumulate enough wealth and prestige, that is when the game is afoot. I always grew up loving business, mgmt, strategy, and tycoon games. This is a more in depth grand strategy game minus wars. It's instead how to capitalize on situations (good or bad), dirt, and how to build a company. I am only 19 hours deep on this game but can say so far its been entertaining. I am a tad bit worried that after a few more play throughs I might be bored of the grind etc. But time will tell.

Pros:
- Business nerds will love this game
- Massive business grand strategy with more add on to come (Multiplayer, full world)
-Style (Enjoy the cartoon aesthetics)

Cons:
- Game has crashed when loading between quarters (when I am alt tab on youtube, so it could be my pc)
- Still slightly buggy but it seems like the developer is still adding to it which seems very promising.
-Early game grind (It takes a bunch of turns to build up capital)

Absolutely amazing game. I've been really into this game, it is a fairly realistic and very complex simulation that well represents the time period, there are constant updates coming with new and interesting content. However this game is not for everyone, although it has a tutorial it is still quite a difficult game to learn and master, don't expect success immediately, and be prepared to fail often.

Honestly great concept but I wish their was perk to using your money like buying property’s and showing your wealth the game gets kinda repetitive. There has to be some aspect of lifestyle, perhaps having family and fixing their basic needs
