Incredible Visuals. Incredible Writing. Incredible music. Lots of little things to experience if you look hard enough. Fun little moments. It had an enthusiasm stat (my in real life enthusiasm stat for this game is 1000). It has a bar to measure how weird things are getting.
please play this gem of a game.
Weird
Funky how a little game I spent 3h playing left me with most questions and feelings than the majority of everything i played.
PRODUCER (2021) is a weird-ass game, with beautiful and enticing writing, good pacing and art and music perfectly contributing to the cohesiveness of the experience.
Calling the game too short would be doing it a disservice, its size is perfectly acceptable and doesn't hurt the experience. Still, I wish i could be a producer again and i'll probably replaying more sooner than later. I wish more games were like this one, unapologetically weird, i wish more people played this game, and i wish to make games like this one someday.
So do yourself a favor and be sure to wishlist it if you don't buy it immediately.
A prescient work of art, and really enjoyable. Short and sweet. Comes to mind alongside games like Citizen Sleeper and Kentucky Route Zero (other indie bangers about technology and rot), but with more urgency and humor. Totally worth your money.
PRODUCER(2021) is an extremely creative and entertaining visual novel/adventure game hybrid with music that slaps so hard. Experience the stresses of Producing! The world is falling apart but you Gotta Produce. Gripped me from start to finish, and the shifting and mutating art is hypnotic, especially when driving, Great writing too. Just the right length.
I remember playing this interactive (reactive?) comic book as a teenager on a 5000-in-1 bootleg GBA cartridge. These duct-taped together dirty pixels and chunks of throbbing meat helped me overcome my depression back then and they did it again in 2022. One of my games of the year!
One of the better adventure games I've played. Although it's fairly short, PRODUCER 2021 has a surprising amount of depth and attention to detail. The soundtrack fits the game perfectly and has many tracks I'll be listening to outside of the game. The writing is funny and sad, the world is beautiful and disgusting. The game is great, go play it!
A fantastically creepy pixel-crunched ‘non-horror’ narrative with some damn clever writing to it. It’s seriously intriguing and the simple yet elaborate dialogue system is interactive enough to let you investigate, make choices, and solve problems at your own pace and in the order that you want to. I adore the unnaturally normal tone that comes from how typical the decaying world is for all the amorphous characters. The game is uneasy in the best possible way and quite frequently funny as well.
Love this game. I guess it's an adventure game if you're speaking mechanically, but it doesn't have very much of the frustrations that are normally associated with that genre. Maybe because the text helps narrate you so clearly, and that it's less concerned with making you feel special for clever associations and more trying to tell you a story or convey some humor.
Vapor-wavey and dank, a truly strange game. Wonderful graphics, amazing music, and great writing. A philosophical story that was perfect for me because I just had quit my job. I'm still wondering whether there was something I could have bribed the fat fish with successfully
Absolutely adored this little narrative gem about productivity during the apocalypse. The writing is funny, poetic, and sad. The music is wonderfully funky, and the visuals beatiful in a Lynchian-nightmare-kinda way.
Only takes a couple hours finish, Definitely worth the price of entry.
Short. Funny. A happy game for sad people. Brittle and beautiful, it stands out amongst the trash. Personal yet weirdly all-embracing, like assembled poetry. Amazing yet clawful pun(s)! Makes you think about think69ng. Hehe. This joke will never grow old. Like the toast and pickles I'll never get. Hm. Tasty. Deep. Like a puddle of weird juice. The effect might be fleeting...but the impact is forever. Really glad I p(l)ayed!
If you ever wondered what a producer does, you should play this game... there havent been a better answer to this question imo!
This game is weird but can hit hard at times... Loved the driving sections!
The soundtrack was fantastic (was expecting that!!!, what a composer!)
If 10 bucks is a suitable price for this experience in general is hard to say, but this was definetly the case for me...
Heeeyaw!
i was put off at first because i don't really enjoy absurd-ish humorous stuff, but this game quickly proved to be much more than that. did not expect producer 2021 to be this real.
the sprites look somewhat crude, but are used in very creative ways especially when it comes to motion. banger music. a lot of interesting/funny interactions that may not necessarily have anything to do with the story.
up to you if it's worth the full price. to me it definitely is.
PRODUCER 2021 is a hard game to compare to other games. Calling it a two-hour visual novel is accurate, but feels wrong. Despite having a main path and keeping you relatively close to it, the entire thing makes you feel like you're fishing around in nooks and crannies (and I mean that as a positive).
It's weird, it's got a unique visual style, and it definitely achieves what it sets out to do - so, it's a good game in my book. If you like Cronenberg movies, or I Have No Mouth And I Must Scream, or anything you see in the game's trailer, I think you'll appreciate this.
i was reeled in by this game's raw visuals and bodacious tunes and stayed for the worldbuilding and intrigue, definitely worth trying if u like big chunky stories with big chunky graphics and big chunky sounds told within the span of a couple hours
literally one of my top favourite games of the year and i'm Not kidding
This game proves paying 10 bucks for a 2 hour experience is nowhere near close to a waste of money. I absolutely love the art direction, the visualisation by seemingly endless textboxes that describe everything to the last breadcrumb and of course the amazing tunes by mr. HighHeels. Incredibly happy I bought this and I hope this game gets the recognition it deserves.
Very interesting adventure that is probably the closest thing I've ever played to playing a dream. Music is fantastic and aesthetic style is amazing. One of the most distinct games I've played in a while. I recommend it if you're into experimental storytelling and bold design.
You know what nobody does anymore? Collages with pictures from magazines. Sure, you can hit google image search and make a "meme" by pasting whatever you find there, but it's not the same thing. You're not taking nice, carpeted houses and artificially happy people, cutting them into pieces and pasting them into a monument to your anxieties.
Anyway, play PRODUCER 2021 (2022).
A visual novel / choose your own adventure game like you've never seen before. Great writing, fascinating concepts and themes. Hilarious and spooky and chill and exciting at various points. Great music, creative interactions and systems. I've only got a couple of the endings and I'll definitely go back for more.
The Producer is always talking about how he loves that economy.
Can't wait for it to get cheaper for everyone.
Sue: I don't know.
I'm torn between "Don't look" and "How could you not?".
Both make me wanna barf.
But he's also kinda sexy when he cries.
Sue: Great.
Shaun is back.
Can I get my money back for the last time he was here?
When he didn't do anything interesting?
This time he's swanning around taking selfies and calling everybody "cute".
When they weren't even cute the last time he was here.
This time he's done nothing interesting.
Sue: Has he?
I don't recall seeing him in this bit.
Well, he might have done when I wasn't looking.
PRODUCER 2021 is a fantastically written adventure narrative game.
It's grimy and sad, yet funny and cosy.
If any of those adjectives describe you, then this is the game for you.
It clocks in at just under 2 hours to play, but you'll be thinking about it for much longer afterwards.

Compelling story with quite a bit more freedom than you might expect. You've got items to collect, puzzles to solve, different locations to explore in the order of your choosing... And because of that, it really feels like a true adventure game at its core, as opposed to an on-rails visual novel with a few narrative decisions sprinkled in. Just make sure you exhaust as many dialogue options as possible whenever you can, otherwise you might miss something crucial to advancing your progress!
