Putt-Putt Enters the Race is about Putt-Putt fall into performance enhancing drugs to win a official competition. He might not need the drugs if he just didn't race with the extra dog weight. I'm also assuming sense we don't see Mr. Firebird around town, the race has banned him or they chased him out of Cartown for his past failures. Drunk me had a bit of trouble remembering where to get the flag, but he got there. Also Also, he really struggle bused with the race at the end, was not expecting an actually race. Fun game, though still don't like it's performance enhancing drug message to our youth.

Great Putt-Putt game, my only complaint is that the whole game leads up to a race. And you get to participate in said race. But there is literally no way for you to win during the first go-around, then afterwards they say some BS like "Oh its not about winning or losing." And I feel like thats a really conflicting message to give children. If its not about winning or losing, then why are you forcing the player to lose?

Recommended only if you're joyfully nostalgic for it. Otherwise there are much better point and click games from Humongous Entertainment out there.

Pajama Sam and Spy Fox have an all ages, Pixar kind of appeal to them whereas the Putt Putt games are clearly made for young children.

An Instant Childhood Point-and-Click Classic from the Days of my Childhood, which consist of the old MS-DOS, Windows 3.1, Windows 95, Windows 98 & Windows 98SE PCs. Another Personal Favorite game of mine in which you help Putt-Putt get ready for the Cartown 500 Big Race by finding by finding Extra High Powered High Octane Gasoline, a Safety Helmet for Pep, a Triangular Racing Flag with the Racing Number on it & Earning Money for a Carwash/New Paint Job/Super Speedy Radial Racing Tires.

And Remember: It's not if you Win or Lose, it's how you race around the Track.

This is my second favorite Putt-Putt game (Saves the Zoo is the first). However, I'm splitting hairs between my favorites.

As Putt-Putt is playing with his pet dog, Pep, he receives a letter from Redline Rick - an invitation to compete in the Cartown 500. Excited, our little friend goes to the track, where Redline Rick tells him a few things are needed before he is allowed to enter the race. And so, we must help Putt-Putt collect the items to race.

Man, so many good things stood out. There's too many to list, but I figured I name a few.
-Probably what grabbed my attention the most was the soundtrack. I ardently feel the music in any game is a critical aspect to deliver, and this game did deliver. There was something about this game that stole my heart, and I loved every minute listening to nostalgic tunes.
-Recycling. Not only is this game fun and education, this game is also teaching us a valuable lesson: and that is to help our planet in cleaner ways. Glass bottles are scattered throughout the journey. Collect enough to earn some coins. And with the coins, Putt-Putt can do two activities. (Explained in the next two thoughts).
-One of my favorite things to do in the Putt-Putt world is the paint job. That's right. In every game, you can color Putt-Putt in a variety of colors, and this game is no different. (I always color him blue). One feature different in this game is that the dashboard is painted now. It's not much, but it makes a huge difference in my eyes.
-The car wash is back. Remember the first game? One thing you could do included a car wash. Well, folks, it's back in style in this installment. I don't know why, but I always enjoyed scrubbing Putt-Putt with bubbles, washing the doors, drying the car as a child. I still do today.
-Giving Putt-Putt a new coat of color as well as a clean bath is not part of the main storyline, but it is a nice addition to the game. It just goes to show how much effort was put forth in such a phenomenal game.
-Next to the recycling machine, there's this game Putt-Putt encounters, where he must put toys back in the proper position. For some reason, I always loved this part. Now, it's been quite a number of years since I revisited this game, but when the scene played, I nearly jumped out of my seat with sheer joy. I'm practically an adult, and cleaning up toys still excites me.
-Some characters make a reappearance! Outback Al, our Australian partner, makes a visit. Rover, the vehicle abandoned on the moon, also returns. Mr. Baldini, our Italian moustache pal, is back. And much, much more.
-There's a theme that finally makes sense. Joining the parade, going to the moon, saving the zoo, and traveling through time all made for fun adventures, but entering the race is something that sounds like a car would actually do.
-One of the coolest features happens when Putt-Putt finally acquires the required. I won't spoil too much. Let's just say there's a mini-game involved, a fun mini-game.

I was five when this game sold on the shelves. Fifteen years later, I am still playing this game, and, to be honest, I may have had more fun now than I did when I first laid my hands on this game. Putt-Putt Enters the Race is a must-have in the Humongous Entertainment collection.

This game is AMAZING. I must have played for 90 hours. I don't even know where to began. The plot is pretty fucking deep. Putt putt lives in nazi-occupied Warsaw. He works underground to try to encite rebellion among the simple-minded citizens who follow the government without question. Putt putt decides to join a race to earn followers to his cause. You have to avoid pedofiles, Benito Meusilini, and cannaballistic prisoners of a Soviet Gulag. This is all done using the metaphor of mentally ill cars who know nothing about the horrors of the world.

During the late 90’s/early 2000’s Humongous Entertainment released an absolutely fantastic stream of “edutainment” point and click adventures for children. These titles focus on a range of light academics including basic geography, basic to upper elementary level mathematics, logical thinking, critical thinking and puzzle solving, topped off with reinforcement of good manners and polite social etiquette. At the lower end of the age spectrum, they may require some adult supervision and supportive guidance, but there is no better series of games for a child’s first venture into PC gaming.

Putt-Putt Enters The Race was the last children's “Edutainment” game I played. Since I was older, it didn’t engage me like the others did. At the same time, I feel like this was when the Putt-Putt titles began to slip in quality and originality. It’s still a worthy title of the Humongous label, but I would purchase the Parade, Moon, Zoo or Circus before this one.

This was a game that I played all the time as a little kid. After seeing it on Steam years later, I knew I had to get it. As an adult, this game still is fun to play. The characters are a little corny, but very loveable and definitely entertaining. The goals were intended for a younger audience obviously, so it will be easy for adults. For kids, this would definitely encourage them to think and solve puzzles. For nostalgic reasons, it gets an A+ in my book.

Putt Putt Enters the Race Written Review I can do a video one if you guys want

Pros
- Racing is fucking amazing
- Puzzles are great
- You can change your colour
- Teaches you about recycling
- Get hyper on Racing Grade Gas
- Doesn't use Nvidia gameworks

Cons
- FPS is capped at 100 (sorry 144hz users)
- Animations are capped at about 5-10
- The cursor in some minigames is also capped at about 5-10 fps
- No options menu, so no anti aliasing, supersampling, Ambient occlusion
- 4:3 resolution only

5/7 perfect game, would relive my childhood again.

A very very great game. This feels like the spiritual successor to Putt-Putt Joins the Parade, as it is the only other Putt-Putt where you explore Cartown. Cartown is a bright and lively environment full of fun and memorable characters. Also has a nice soundtrack. The puzzle solving aspect though not too challenging, also isn't too easy. The race at the end is a neat feat of engineering that they managed to do it within the SCUMM engine. Very solid Putt-Putt, though I prefer Travels Through Time, this one is also worth your time.

This putt-putt game has god mode here’s how you activate it. Add Speed=R under file scummvm-puttputtenterstherace.ini with notepad then save. by prassing Shift+G putt putt can teleport anywhere in the game. plus added bonus Shift+I gives you Items and Paths Select.
by adding StateSpeed=101298. This tells the users video speed at start up.

this game has 4 temporary, unused spots that will only appear every 2-4 times the user complates the game. that will keep young kids playing for hours. that it changes a litter, everytime you play unlike putt-putt peps birthday surpirse. That will stay the same on every game. this is the toughest putt-putt game in the series. this is more like freddi fish style of game play. i'll not adised first timers playing this putt-putt game with young kids instead play putt-putt saves the zoo.

it is about that putt putt is excited of going to the race. He can't just yit. he needs to found the appropriate items from his car friends or helping some business owners.

The series is meant for kids, and I'm not a kid anymore, but I had fun playing this one. I played some of the series when I was little, and I bought the Humongous pack when it first came out. I'll get to all of them eventually.

Putt-Putt Enters the Race was the one that took me the longest to finish so far at 80 minutes - there are definitely more puzzles here than in the earlier games, like Joins the Parade and Goes to the Moon. The animations are cute.

Recommended for: nostalgic twenty-somethings and little kids.

I'm in love with Putt-Putt and I love admiring him pop that trunk in the music cutscenes. Hell ye boi. You know that bit where ya gotta cut out the shapes? I mean I understand he hasnt got very efficient hands to cut things out/hands at all but like...STEP UP YOUR GAME BB. Anyway, I'm planning to propose in a few months but IDK whether to invite Mr Firebird...Doesn't he seem like a shady trucker? Lettin a kid get sucked into a time machine, hangin out in a hidden factory with a kid alone....changing the location name to avoid authorities perhaps? Anyway for sure inviting Mr Baldini, he's prety swaggy. Hell ye.

Oh right ye alright game, love the graphics.

Okay, this game is only meant for a real intellectual. You see, I have completed by third doctorate, this one in quantum physics, and I frequently browse subreddits such as r/ProgrammerHumor, as I am a true intellectual. I also endulge in watchig Rick and Morty, a show meant for real geniuses such as I, meaning I am most likely one of the smartest human beings in North America, especially with its de-evolution into baboons in the current age.

Returning to the matter at hand, do not buy this game if you are not intellegent. The game is extremely difficult, with puzzles hard enough to trick an intellectual such as I or Stephen Hawking, however, I managed to make it though this game with little challenge. But I DO NOT reccomend this game for those who suffer from lacking mental capacity.

Overall, I would have to rate this game a 7/10, due to its challenge at some points, yet its memorable characters.

One of mine and my brother's favourite games as we were children. Years have passed and this game is horrible, terrible and 1/10 - when you're sober. After getting stoned would rate this 10/10. Amazing. Best game ever. We're hearing colours over here.

Have you ever wanted to be a prepubescent automobile? well with Putt Putt enters the race now you can! honestly this is a very nostalgic game for me as i played almost every single putt putt game as i was growing up through good ol' kindergarden. This game is fairly good for a younger demographic and not as much for adults but there is still some semblance of a story. the puzzles are all fun except the farm maze. it might say 0.9 on my steam but i used to have these babies on CD's so don't be fooled by the low playtime because im sure iv'e clocked in plenty of time. anyway if your teetering over should i buy it or not I would definitely recommend it

Putt Putt taught that when Dr. Stan told me cars don't talk he lied. There is n othing wrong with me, its the government. Stan deserved what he got, I'm proud to own his head which now hangs on a stick in my cell. They wanted to take it, but I bit them, just like Put Put bites the grass.

One day I will set the cars free, and I will be purple just like them.

Well, this was shorter than I was expecting. I thougt Putt-Putt Saves the Zoo was the wimpy, short one, but this one only took me what, like, a few minutes longer? Oh well... at least it still felt more quality overall. Not sure why exactly, but there ya go...

Anyway, this is the sort of game you play for the sake of nostalgia. Or create nostalgia for, if you're still, like, a toddler. Looking for games for your toddler? This ain't a bad choice... not by any means. It's goofy and charming. Looking for games AS a toddler? Um...

Putt-Putt Enters the Race was one of my childhood games, and it's still a great game to this day. This one and Travels Through Time are probably some of the best Putt-Putt games. This game has a lot of variety, and you can't really see everything in one playthrough, so you should replay it a lot. The characters are charming and funny, and there are a lot of fun minigames to play. And one of the things I love about Humongous Entertainment games, they're made for kids, but they're also not made so that older people can't enjoy them. The writing can be cheesy in some spots though.

Except a negative for me at least, if you've played the previous Putt-Putt games, you'll notice Putt-Putt has a different voice. It's not terrible, but it's definitely a huge change.

But overall, this is a great game. If you have young children or you like adventure games, this is a good game to play(though honestly I would recommend Freddi Fish over Putt-Putt any day).

This is within my top 3 favorites of the Putt-Putt games (alongside Travels Through Time and Joins the Circus). It has basically everything you expect from a Humongous Entertainment title with really fluid animations and getting to see some older characters that haven't been seen in a while. My only real complaints are with the farm and digging for hubcaps. The farm can be VERY confusing to navigate due to how big it is and how many branching paths there are. Digging for hubcaps can be annoying since the dog is random on when it decides to start barking, which can make it take longer than necessary.

I remember this game as a kid and I can say for sure now that I am in college it is still one of the best games I have ever played in my life. The sound design is on POINT and some of the best voice acting out there. if you are thinking of buying a new game I can say that this should be the first one of your list. I have been playing more game that are meant for people around my age, but there is something that is always missing that I can't find anywhere else but a good Putt Putt game. This game is 10/10 - IGN

Amazing game, absolutely spectacular. Possibly one of the best games to ever be created, probably ever. No game is more nostalgic, thought out, and executed than Putt-Putt Enters the Race. One of, if not the best Putt-Putt game to date by a mile. I am not entirely sure how this game did not win Game of the Year, every year, forever. Nostalgia, just NOSTALGIA!

Putt-Putt Enters the Race is a game that I only got to play once while at school. It was cute and fun and I'm SO GLAD that I can play it again today, at my own time and pace. The art style, while basic, it very cute and there are many things to interact with, perfect for a kids game. And it's good for older people too, as one can skip almost any cutscene with the Esc key, meaning they don't have to sit through random guides or tutorials if they already know how to play.

My only gripes with this game are the imperfect collision detection in the titular race - what appears to be a small gap between an obstacle and the edge of the track still causes you to run into the obstacle, and the digging up of the hubcaps, where despite the game implying the dog's barks reveal the hubcaps, that doesn't seem to be the case.

Even so, this game is still fun and nostalgic to its core. I definitely recommend this game to kids and nostalgic adults alike.

Putt Putt Enters the Race is like smooth vanilla ice cream on a warm saturday evening at the beach during the peak beauty of a sunset. It taught me happiness, sadness, laughter and pain. Through the works of helping those in need, Putt Putt is able to achieve his own personal goals while changing the lives of those around him. Not to mention his best bud, scooby doo, who always stuck with him no matter what. It is beautiful to see such a strong sense of loyalty portrayed by scooby.

Overall, Putt Putt valid.

the fact that where you find the items can change every time you start the game is so cool???? and unnecessary in the best way possible?? realizing this as i revisited this game was very bizarre; like i thought i knew putt-putt?? no i don't, apparently. love this one a lot; did not at all remember actually getting to race in the race so the sprites + mini game interface showing up was a bit of a surprise. i saw in a walkthrough (i had to look up bc somehow i missed the milk at the drive-in ok leave me alone) that there's 2 different endings?? depending on if you win or lose?? which i guess makes sense but omg why does putt-putt have so much replay ability??? also mr. fender bender's cat is awesome and so is rover's milkshake shop love him hes doing great

OH and the fact that outback al will have a random animal out of the 26 in the book in the library?? that's so cool dude!!!! i love that book btw putt-putt is so informative and made me look up pictures of polecats and jerboas!!!!

I ask you, is God dead? This is the perfect example of how dark the posthumanist future could be. Musk stopped at nothing to develop the Twitter Tesla human-car abomination, as we sold our bodies piecemeat for what, the dopamine of telling journalists they are evil?
Is the cost justified?
