I haven't played for long but this game is worth a recommend. Smooth ball hits, streamlined goals and playing on a wireless headset is perfect for this. I love the way i can turn 360 and whack the ball around the arena. I hope this game gets a larger playerbase for multiplayer. Seems like it took a little long to find a match atm.

Racket NX scratches that itch of wanting to hit a ball with a racket while adding more challenge and fun than it would be by itself. Having not played too long, this game has been great fun already (and has caused some damage to nearby Lego sets in the vicinity). The gameplay loop can be pretty addicting (if you don't get too tired) and the music on top of that has some bangers in it. Very interested to see what else this game holds for higher level play for those who get to that point. There's also multiplayer but I haven't gotten around to trying it just yet.

If you have a VR you should get this game.

The graphics of this game are realy slick n polished and fits the gameplay. The gameplay itself is not so great. I think the wall move mechanics of the ball annoying as you do not have much control over it. When the ball flys straight towards the wall, the ball seems to take just the direction where it was moving in the most (which is the correct thing, but it does not fit, cause the ball should come back in an instant). The 360° arena thing is a nice idea, but is just annother annoying thing. You are always rotating and hit the cable. The wormhole break the game for me totaly. They just add to the rotation that should not be.

Had another squash like game where you just face one direction and was much simpler regarding the graphics, but made much more fun to play.

For future games:
Stay with the graphics but only take one direction the player is facing, especially in fast paced games.

Highly recommend this game; great fun, so satisfying smacking accurate shots against different challenging targets; like a hyper beautiful futuristic racketball game. Hadn't played it in a few months, and the latest update made it even more fun, with new levels and combo shots. One of my favorite VR games. Very responsive with a good skill curve; learning the subtleties of hitting fast accurate shots is a lot of fun.

Great game, very well made and feels very polished. You can feel yourself increasing in skill pretty quickly as you learn how to add spins to the ball. The only downside is you will do a lot of spinning around yourself so you need to keep track of your cable location unless you have wireless or other setup to mitigate the issue. Definitely recommend at least trying the demo first!

Played the demo a while back, really enjoyed it, but haven’t gotten around to playing this, the full version, until just recently. It’s tons of fun! Fast paced, great music and sound effects, mechanics are spot on. Easy to learn, and addicting game play. Thumbs: UP!

This game is visually stunning. I absolutely love the racquet itself. The gameplay is enthusiastic, and conceptually simple, with enough challenge to remain entertaining. And on top of all that, the multiplayer is great.

The physics are weird. The wall "slides" are an interesting game mechanic, but are not intuitive. Some of the other times when the ball is moving there seems to be a non-traditional gravity affecting it. And it's hard to tell with how fast-paced it is, but sometimes what seems like a miss connects, and vice-versa. These are minor issues that cause occasional moments of frustrations.

Beyond any of that though, it is FUN! Highly recommend.

This game is wonderful fun! Don't let the simple concept or game mechanics fool you, there's some lengthy fun to be had here. Racket NX oozes polish, particularly in their net code. Other devs, look closely, my brother has horrendous internet, worse some days seemingly dependent upon the weather but this game is completely playable on the worst connections. Players take turns hitting the ball, and when it's your turn the game is completely local so there's no lag whether you're hosting or not. If you're on the fence about which ball smacking arcadey VR game to get, I thoroughly recommend this one!

iwasjustkidding

Very basic game - hit the ball against a wall. The problem is the ball's movement is more random then I'd like. Solid visuals, but only okay gameplay means its not a game I'll be trying to get high scores in... and for what it is, it needs that element.

The long awaited sequel to 2006’s phenomenal ‘Wii Tennis’ is finally here and the game looks and feels like it’s straight out of a 90s sci-fi ‘cool-future-gaming’ scene.

Also, for the sake of safety, Racket Nx requires a substantial play-area, especially if you have a long wingspan.

This game destroys your wrists!! The game bases your attacks not on how hard you swing your arms but how much you flick your wrists. After some time it will destroy your wrists... Poor game design.

Radjage

This is easily one of my favorite VR games and is perfect for the platform. Extremely well polished and fun, you can tell the devs put a lot of work into this game and they've made great strides since this started in early access.

The physics feel great and as a tennis player it also feels satisfying. It's not a bad workout too. There is plenty to do and the sound design is top notch.

I saw a couple reviews here that it hurt their wrists, this really shouldn't be the case as you should swing more like it's a tennis racket than a ping pong paddle.

Anyway, I highly recommend this one!!!!

Racket Nx is something like Arcanoid mixed with real life tennis. It's a lot of fun, easy to learn but very hard to master.

Last levels in a Campaign mode and later stages of Survival are a bit too punishing for my taste. Some of the elements that used to crank up the difficulty can kinda ruin the flow of the game. Like those wormholes or red edges of hexagons that return the ball back to the player, stopping the combo.

Environment looks amazing and the GUI blends with it very well. The whole experience really feels like something from an old sci-fi movie. Naive and upbeat one, not those cyberpunk dystopias)

Overall, I really like Racket Nx, it is one of those games that always feels good to jump back into for a quick match.

Bought this ages ago.. was great back then... have since updated to HMD's and in that time this game has changed completely and has gone from great to HOLY FKN SH!T this is amazing!!! Polish upon polish!! Immediately went to see if it was on Quest, and its coming.. the cable is the only thing holding this experience back from being transcending. Buy this, dont even think about it. Great game mechanics too.

I love playing squash in real life, and I used to play hours on end of Breakout when I was kid. This is a perfect combination of the two, and one of the best games I've played in VR. You do not need room scale, and you could probably play it seated, but it's best standing. The devs have had a great eye for detail in the design, like the cable direction on your floor plate and the smashing being more like a flick of the wrist than an whole arm-kinda thing. The single player challenges and the arcade modes are just great and I'd be content with just that, but the tug-of-war 1v1 versus mode is just fantastic.

Crete

Y'know, with all the VR games out there, I just keep going back to this one again and again. Such a simple concept with some awesome tweaks, effects, and little things in it that make it so great to play! I for sure feel like I got my money's worth from NX, will buy the studios next game for support!

Just add this game to your library! I can't believe it took me 1.5 years to discover this gem.

This is a VR sport title where the main fun to be had is playing 1 v 1 multiplayer. Now that it's out on Quest, it takes less than a minute to find a match. I've found myself having the "one more game" syndrome, which is the mark of a truly great game.

Togan
Togan

My favorite sport-like game in VR. From years of tennis and racquetball, I can say the racket swinging and flicking mechanics are very accurate. If you have any experience with racket sports, you should catch on very quickly.

The solo campaign is extremely polished and introduces new challenges little by little as you progress, and the leaderboard / star rating incentives you to master each level.

The best part about this game is the multiplayer. It's a constant back and forth against an equally skilled opponent and can lead to some epic finishes and comebacks.

If the trailer looks like a game you'd enjoy, I'd say go for it. This game is the best in its class.

One of the greatest VR experiences - I play it multiple times per week for 10 - 20 minutes. I haven't even tried the multiplayer or the achievements - the endless mode is enough for me. This game puts you into some kind of flow - it's an amazing feeling.

This game would be so great if you didn't have to turn around. Didn't they realize we have to wear head gear with a bunch of cables going from our PCs to our head? Whenever I turn around I have to be mindful of the cables or they get yanked or wrapped up around my neck, it's a pain. Until we have wireless VR, having a game that requires part of the play area to be behind you is simply poor design. Uninstalling...

like many others have already said, i just keep coming back to this game
i have so many other games to choose from but i keep picking this one

visuals are outstanding and it still runs great on my relatively modest PC with a core i5 7400 and rx 470 4gb
aiming the ball feels very natural, it feels like i'm just aiming how i would with a racket in real life
but i don't really need to tell you much about that, since this game has a free demo available
just download it and give it a shot, if you like it then i think you'll like this game

the difficulty curve in the campaign is great, i'm stuck on the last two insane levels but they definitely aren't a difficulty spike, they're just difficult :V
the online competitive mode is pretty fun, although sometimes there isn't really anyone online since the game is kind of small
i like that they let you play the campaign or endless modes while waiting in the queue, happy they added this since sometimes it can take a while
also it was very easy to put in my own music, i added some synthwave tracks and i think it fits great but the soundtrack in the game is already really nice

overall, highly recommended. if you have an oculus quest, i'd get it for that since this game requires 360 degree turning with no option for snap turning, but for PC headsets i imagine that this is a better experience with something like a VR backpack or a wireless solution

Woah. Super under rated. There are a bunch of these tennis/racket ball style VR games. But this is definitely the best one I've played, and I've tried out quite a few. This game is very fun and exhausting. I have a number of decent exercise VR games including beat saber, Box VR, and others. This is far far more intense. You really do need some space to play in though. Even with a pretty good size play area I have managed to go out of bounds and punch things.

This is one of VR's best experiences so far ... You really feel like you're playing games in the future. The game itself is really well done ... Its a simple concept, but it always works for VR. Simple and fun. Definitely my best title for VR I have to say.

There is only one thing.
If you play this game a lot ... there is not enough content for you.
But I always came back to this game.

GRAPHICS Looks amazing
SOUNDS are rly cool.
MUSIC is phenomenal.
GAMEPLAY best you can get of VR. / Also if you are new in VR or to entertain your folks.

The level editor for this game would be absolutely amazing. This game is really worth its full price. I get it with a discount of 7 whats shame. But I would pay the full price for this masterpiece.

DO NOT HESITATE.

This is a top-5 VR game for me, it feels absolutely amazing. I have well over 100 vr games purchased over 3+ years so this is a true statement. Sports will eventually become a staple segment of VR as advancements come along and this game, to me, feels exactly like what I would imagine as a legitimate VR sport. I come back to this game regularly and I sing it's praises to any of my VR friends.

This is the only physical exercise game that kept my interest. It's great! Sadly, it requires a big room and to hang your cable from the ceiling, otherwise I pull my headset off too frequently.

Vecksed

This is an awesome game, looks much better than advertised. Its music is sub par but they allow you to bring your own. There is room for improvement that's for sure, but overall worth the $10 I invested. I certainly hope to see features like: Changing your avatar skin, while I love the skeleton lizards, it would be nice to have at least some customization options since this is multiplayer intensive. Co-op modes, not just head to head, not everything has to be a fight. This game has some amazing potential to have puzzle like settings to solve between two players or with the added rhombus intervention, making that enemies to defeat as a 4 player co-op if it must be a battle. There is a vast majority of player bases that do not enjoy being pitted in a gladiator setting every single time they play a game. It adds an element of stress to something that may be relaxing. I certainly hope this game isn't ditched and the developers take note of this information given.

Wow, what can I say about this?
It's an arcade game that is easy to start and the more you keep playing it the more deep the gameplay gets.
It's so much FUN. And it offers a challenge to anyone.
If you play in MP I found that the community is helping you to become better.

The sound design in the game is incredible too. It's as good as Half Life Alyx, and the soundtrack is top notch quality.
Also the ball physics are really well made.
For around 8€ this game is a steal. Just try it. You are not gonna regret it.

If you like racket sports, you'll like this. Good exercise, and a nice balance of skill to aim and tactics to line up your next shot.

My only complaint is that I discovered this game far too late, so there's nobody online to play with in co-op nor competitive. Maybe that person could be you?

death4unow2020

I have 130+ VR games, and own this on occulus and steam, yes I paid for it twice... Games simple to learn you simply hop into arcade mode and destroy the targets by pulling the ball with the tractor beam, and timing the ball coming back and hitting it with your paddle. My favourite part of the game is twirling and slowing then ball essentially controlling it like to a very high degree almost magic... I had rated this game at 1 star because the devs had begun another project, and I feel don't really engage the public even in their own discord.. some recent updates have happened, their future planned updates also seem promising... So we will hold our breath and see. any questions, BoosieBC on twitch, death4unow2020 or cardtaker1984.....

I feel like this is one of those games that ends up developing one of your arms more than the other.

It's a ton of fun, I love to play zen mode and just work through my issues of the day by hitting a virtual ball as hard as I can against a virtual wall for points, in what looks like a mini-game within Tron. Who needs therapy when you can hit thing in VR, right?

This is my first VR game where Multiplayer (Co-op or against a friend) work and you can chat while having a game. As a Rift S user I recommend Quest2 or VR that's wireless. Just starting with this game so my review is not very deep -- basically just yep, I liked it. And it worked perfectly with the Quest 2 and Virtual Desktop.

I'm not usually real big on arcade stuff (more into simulators) but was tempted by the sale price, plus I like racquet sports. I was pleasantly surprised. The graphics quality is quite good, the premise is simple but fun (kind of a cross between racquetball and tetherball, since you can "call" the ball back to your racquet). You're inside a geodome and you have to hit certain hexagons in the wall in order to gain points and/or strength. Target shooting with a flaming racquetball, what's not to like?

There's a time trial mode which I avoided 'cos I hate timers (stress, meh, who needs it) and I wasn't interested in competition... so I tried the solo arcade no-death mode. That was quite pleasant -- active enough to keep me moving the whole time and fun physics (extra snappy hits get rewarded with some wacko ball behaviour). There are elements of pinball in there (bumpers and ricochets) which add to the amusement.

The racquet mechanics feel pretty natural (no latency). For a moderate/light arm workout, this is a pretty good app. You can switch racquet hands any time, if you like a more symmetrical workout. It's visually a bit overwhelming after a while (Great Big Blocks of Hot Colour!) but hey, you probably won't play for more than 15 minutes anyway. There's a voice over track, rather annoying but easily got rid of.

On sale, this game is a great deal. Good choice for anyone who plays, or used to play, squash/racquetball/handball.

In a nutshell : a really fun and immersive VR arcade BreakOut.

This games really focuses on one thing - being a really fun breakout experince in VR. It is fast, arcady and exciting. The whole experience feels great, including the menu and sound effects. Unlike many smaller VR titles, it feels like a game, not a tech demo.

Without a doubt, Racket: Nx is the best money I've spent on a VR exclusive game. The developer claims to strive for an "unreasonable level of polish". They're not joking -- this is the most polished VR title I own (in four years of VR playing). The audio and visual design is excellent, 10/10. It's a great cardio warm-up, too! One of my favorite things about it is that the developer gives players a monthly set to play through that always surprises with new elements and skill-building features. I've owned it for years, play for a few hours a week, and still haven't been able to complete every set in the game, let alone get every star for each set. It's challenging, fun, gorgeous, and never ceases to impress me. If you like standing VR games with a mild-moderate level of exercise, this needs to be in your library.

Mobilephone2003
Mobilephone2003

This has quickly become one of my favourite games on the Quest 2 via Virtual Desktop. It's not a game to spend countless hours in as its physically intensive but its the sort of thing that takes the advantages of VR and bottles them up into a fun jump-in-and-play-daily package.

Loading up own MP3s is the icing on the cake, listening to own songs gives that extra boost to the play. May just be me but there is a slight lag when changing song, weird as the PC is pretty beefy with SSDs, but it's worth pushing through to play this!

The warning to keep the hand strap on is not a joke, it encourages hitting the ball as hard as possible, and i have slipped grip of the controller a few times so definitely recommended.

10/10 game, wouldn't change a thing other than that slight skip on track change which likely wont happen when using the ingame music.

Phalange
Phalange

Yes yes and yes! In about 3 minutes I already felt like a fish in his element and once past the tutorial I was already looking to get the 3 stars on each stage not because I am a completionist (I am not), but because the game has an excellent skilled based mechanics "easy to learn hard to master" vibe that will require your brain to work just as much as your body. I just love how you can put an effect on the ball and drift it just like in ping pong which is especially useful to get moving chains in one hit. You don't sweat like a pig, you barely get moist compared to some other VR games but it's nonetheless super fun and exciting. I just don't see anything wrong about it. If you like arcade games or are looking for something that makes you move without getting exhausted after 15min this game is for you, I think it's perfect for an after work light workout just to move and a have fun time. I know I review this after having played it only 2 hours but I am quite confident that I will play this on a weekly basis just as I do with Synth Riders. Talking about music you can implement your own MP3 playlist.

10/10 all the way this is the kind of game VR is made for.

A brilliantly designed and impressively polished take on racquetball for VR. Playing solo is a fantastic workout too. There's a decent amount of content in the campaign with quite a few unique levels that get progressively more challenging alongside an arcade mode and monthly challenge.

The multiplayer is the main area I would like to see fleshed out. Currently you can only play versus or coop but in both modes you switch off hitting the ball. Hitting the ball every other time results in a considerably less active game which is disappointing for me.

My main draw is the still the multiplayer, but I would like to see more options. Namely in a head to head mode where each player gets their own dome and whoever depletes their energy first takes the round, or whatever gets me moving more as this is one of my favorite VR games for exercise.

Maybe it gets harder later in the game, but i felt immediatly bored, you don't really have to move that much compared to beatsabre where you're forced to move your arms to reach the cubicles. Also no way to adjust your standing point, at least i didn't see a menu for it.

Not an awful game but there's isn't really much going on. The multiplayer worked smooth, only had a minor positioning issue and the movements feel good. Awesome and polished gameplay, tons of fun and a great workout. Had a couple of weird menu bugs once or twice but nothing a quick restart didn't fix. Shoutout to the excellent sound design, too.

One detail I love is that the in-game platform shows where your headset cord is. Extremely useful for not getting tangled up since it is a 360 direction game.

There don't seem to be a ton of levels in the main campaign, but there are a couple of endless modes, level editor, and multiplayer matchmaking. I picked it up on sale; I probably wouldn't have bought it at full price, but if all those features appeal to you then it could be worth the full price.

Its a very fun game, and it comes with lots of easy and hard levels.

Still one of the best sports VR games I've played. Always coming back to this title- it's basically the perfect implementation of an arkanoid / tennis concept and it works perfectly in VR.

Recommend? Hell yeah!

One of the most fun experiences in VR. Especially if you have a friend to play with.

Started to lag like crazy after blocking it with the built-in windows firewall. Looking at the log reveals ~3500 connection attempts per second. How do you even do that?

Criminally underrated sporty VR game. Very simple idea, hit the ball at the targets, but while progressing through the campaign it becomes obvious there is a level of skill to be achieved, which I'm glad for because I was concerned the game might end up turning out to be too easy. I can confirm that is not the case, I am stuck on the hard campaign levels right now lol.

Outside of the campaign, there is also the endless mode, which is exactly what it sounds like and I found it a lot of fun upon first playing it. There are two other versions of the endless mode that I haven't tried out though. Endless mode is also pretty great for working up a sweat if you're into that sort of thing.

Like I saw another review mention, the game takes advantage of the VR format very well: the arena is 360 degrees and builds itself around the player. I've felt pretty immersed to be honest. I think this is a title that really shows the potential of VR as a gaming platform.

In terms of multiplayer, I've only played one match, and while the player counts on steamcharts are depressing, the game is crossplay with Quest users so you'll probably run into them most of the time. A beautiful aspect of the matchmaking though is that you can queue up for a game and still go play while you wait, a feature more titles VR and otherwise need to embrace.

In short, very underrated, simple concept but still provides a challenge. I haven't been playing for very long at this point but I can already tell it's a game I'll be continuously coming back to. Also runs great on Proton if you're into that sort of thing. Buy it.
