90's baby classic. This game will bring your nostalgic memories back. Creativity, management, and problem solving make this game the top of its time. Highly recommend for anyone who is new to gaming.

Game crashes randomly on both Windows 10 and 11, won't save. Seems like no salvation a head in the manner. Stopped playing this game for the following reason.

I don't know why I assumed Rollercoaster Tycoon 3 would be better. This is the best and only Rollercoaster Tycoon that matters. Best game that has ever entered my life, gifted from a box of cereal in my childhood.

I purchased this thinking it was the "classic" version of the video game, is in the original. Upon playing it I was bummed to learn that this is more of a cheesy copy of the original and various features do not work the same as they did in the original. The tool to build paths is all messed up. There is also no free play scenario as there was in the original game which is a huge let down. I had issues making the purchase and the Steam client seems to freeze/crash from time to time. Overall I am very displeased with the experience!

I really like all the additional parks that were added since the game's origin

Played this game for many of my adolescent years and even after playing it again you can never have two identical parks. This improved version is way better, smoother and super fun! Brings back a lot of nostalgia for me and its a great game, you go through a little bit of a learning curve at first, but once you get the hang of everything you wont want to stop playing!

It is a nice game that reminds me of when I used to play RCT 1 and 2 as a child. It is nice that they combined both games into one game. There is a bug where the game will randomly close, but luckily restarting the game will bring you back to where you were.

Been a long time and I finally get to torture my park guests for the first time in years. Hearing the screams as the coasters around them explode as they hit the ground killing everyone on board gives me a pleasure I can't get anywhere else. After all they deserve their death... Spend 20+ minutes designing a badass coaster just for them to say "this ride looks too intense for me". Hope they still felt that way as I launched them into the water on another ride...

I bought it for MacOS. The requirement for playing the game on MacOS is that don't upgrade from Mojave to any OS beyond this. Luckily, I fulfilled the requirement since I bought my iMac in 2019 and not wanting to upgrade the OS at all in favour for some personal work.

Speaking of the game, it's beautiful and far more comfortable to play on a 27 inches iMac although I've found a few problems that aren't up to the standard the Windows deluxe edition offered:
- Sluggish control of zooming in or out with the mouse device, causing the inconvenience of getting used to it.
- Graphics definitely feels awkward in some occasions, zooming in is that particular moment.
- Why scatter the tool menu into four parts??? The rotation tool on the far right top corner, the pause button on the far right bottom corner, the construction tool on the bottom left corner. It's extremely frustrating.
- The path construction tool is completely inferior in this classic edition. The Windows deluxe edition offers the choice of customizing the entrance path with various designs and four colourful palette (Blue, red, yellow, and green). Unfortunately, this classic edition just threw away that concept. It still gives you the option of customizing the different designs of the entrance path, but the colour palette is totally restricted to the available designs.
- Shame that the Steel Coaster got a redesign.

Other than these, I have no other complains for this classic edition and I'd recommend to those who're new to this game. I still own the deluxe edition disc for Windows, it's no longer playable and the disc is on the shelf well preserved.

All the levels I remember are here and as playable as ever even on my windows 10 laptop! I've never had an issue running the game and it was honestly a really good price for how much content I get. The only gripe I have, and this is just a nitpick, is that it doesn't seem to have the pre-made track rides from the original Roller Coaster Tycoon 1 like Mischief and other roller coasters that I remembered from it. Minor nitpick aside, I will wholeheartedly recommend this game to anyone that might have an interest in it!

The one "annoying" thing about this game is if you have muscle memory of all the controls from the original you will have to re learn all the hotkeys. But once you do learn the new controls it is actually a lot better than the original. Great remaster

Crashes and loses save data. Restarting the game after a crash tries to 'resume' the game you were in, but it loads very old save data and not even the most recent. Has some nice enhancements to the original, but I'm not going to keep playing if the game can't even save/load properly.

Has a lot of the great feels of the original, but the programming just isn't there. Game crashes constantly. A lot. Bugs like trees that never vanish, just stay highlighted on the land. Can't turn off edge scrolling. The menus aren't easily nagotiable. Honestly, just play the original.

Erometal

It's nice to have the first two games bundled and merged together in one package. I don't think its worth having if you already own the the original games elsewhere cause you can just download the free OpenRCT project to make it run on modern machines although thats not a complete mod as of this review. I do already own the two originals on GOG but I'm weird and love the super zoom in Rollercoaster tycoon classic. OpenRCT doesn't get close enough for me. this is still a solid game and runs great on Windows 11

I am genuinely surprised more of my friends don't own this game. It's the complete package for RCT fans new and old. Learning curve is perfect. If you can get past the patience required to enjoy this game it is highly fulfilling. Seeing the different groups being checked off map by map is personally rewarding (wish there were achievements...) and satisfying to see fill. Getting the knack for designing coasters into landscapes is deceptively simple yet endlessly complicated. An art form all its own. People like to say they "really like Roller Coaster Tycoon!" but how many of them have actually made it past playing with the designer and Forest Frontiers? If this sounds like you, seriously consider sitting down giving the game an honest few hours truly committing to roller coaster design. You may find yourself thinking about them during the day away from your computer...

It's obviously a mobile port, but it doesn't matter that much in a game like this. The UI is a little ugly maybe, but other than that, it's very functional and probably the best way to play the game right now on modern PCs. I used to play some sort of port from some several years back, but it had some big issues with working, I recall.

Highly recommended, RCT is the best tycoon type game I know, so many rides and scenarios, and a good large open free-mode if that's more your thing.
Building custom rollercoasters is deep enough to make really fun ones, but simple enough that you won't have to study engineering to make them work well, thanks to the grid-based building. If you don't want to bother, each ride comes with a prebuilt option or a few

A must try for anyone who's into tycoons and manager games. It's the best one out there in my opinion. Make drinks free, and toilet entry cost several bucks

Childhood revisited. This was such a fun game back in the day, and it can still suck you in. Wish it had more of a sandbox feeling. Wish it were 1:1 with the original, I get that it has QoL improvements, but I still have very fond memories of the original. This is more of a mashup of 1 and 2 with all of the expansions. Overall, satisfying, very much like you remember, and a lot of fun especially if your friend group has dissolved over time. Chris Sawyer did such an amazing job with this game back in the day. It was originally written in assembly, and later from assembly to C. At any rate, it's well worth playing. The basics are quite easy, and it's a very forgiving game overall.

Literally GOLD if you enjoyed the OG RCT1/2 games from back in the day. Best of both worlds put into one, with fixed mechanics that help quality of play such as fast forward, path building AI, and much more reliable instead of crashing and corrupt saves. The UI is a bit ugly and un-charming than the original, but you will get use to it.

I'm certain it's my laptop that's the issue (has all the recommended specs though), but I've bought this game and it is not working. At first, it only worked on the absolute lowest screen resolution, however, this now doesn't work either. Absent support by the company, steam, or the community with my issue. So as I said, it's probably my laptop that's the issue but the game isn't necessary that compatible and you likely won't receive help trying to resolve certain matters. £15 wasted unfortunately as I was hyped to play this remaster

Ethireon

This is in reference specifically to the port, RTC is an amazing game but there are better ways to play it. The controls are very clunky for PC, the lack of settings is annoying, and there are some questionable differences from the original like not being able to change the park admission fee for some maps.
I don't know how they managed to make a worse PC UI than the original from 23 years ago but oh boy did they manage it. It seems like a sloppy port to touchscreens was ported back to PC without much care for making the interface any better beyond being barely functional.
I suggest buying RTC2 and using openRTC.

The UI is atrocious compared to the originals, but it looks like all of the content and gameplay is there.

tl;dr: an unworthy, basic mobile port of a classic game. Get RCT2 Triple Thrill Pack and RCT1 Deluxe and use them with OpenRCT2 on PC.

I love RollerCoaster Tycoon, especially the first game. Played so many hours. RCT2 I don't remember as fondly, at the time I preferred other genres and it had no windowed mode, my preferred way to play such a game. This version includes the scenarios from RCT1 and 2 with all the expansion packs, plus apparently a couple of new ones, but I didn't get to those. I think the sorting is better than in RCT2, which sorted scenarios not by difficulty, but alphabetically. Remember the casual Amity Airfield?

This version is a port of the mobile version, and it shows. The UI is made with a touch screen in mind, which make it unnecessarily clunky to play on PC. The buttons aren't that big, but the placement and structure of the menus is horribly unintuitive. I had to guess that the main menu is hidden behind the prominently placed time scale button. Settings are also hidden behind this button, often used functions like hiding supports is very hard to reach.

I could live with the UI, but the gameplay has also changed. I can't build a classic looping coaster design, the Shuttle Loop. Because the station breaks only work in one direction, so I can't build a very space efficient design. Selecting special parts is clunky and doesn’t work sometimes. Selecting small things like visitors is quiet hard to do. Some of the scenario requirements have changed. I've only beaten Forest Frontiers for old times sake. I don't know what else has changed in other scenarios.

I really can't recommend this version. If played on PC, and after all, Steam is a PC platform, its inferior to the original. And especially to the community driven open source port OpenRCT2, which I meant and build for PC and has a lot of advanced features. Get the Original, still available here on Steam, and use it with OpenRCT2 for a much better experience on PC.

The only case I can see for this game on PC is if you have a convertible or detachable with a touchscreen. Then the touch-based UI makes sense. If you play with mouse and keyboard, its inferior to the Original and especially OpenRCT2.
