Rising Judo Star Gushiken Takahiro was two weeks away from the match that would make or break his career -- a championship match where the winner is then signed up to be a young national athlete for Japan. He was very determined to win, in order to fulfill his dreams of finally representing his country for a sport he loves so much.

I used to kind of look down on these Sakura visual novels because they have a reputation for being lewd, but when I was watching some let's plays of one or two of them online, I saw that they had some touching moments in them. I wanted to play some of them for myself.
Sakura Spirit is a sweet game. It has a lot of lewd CGs, but it's nice being in the world and spending time with the characters. I even liked spending time with the village elder, drunk in the grass, and looking at the stars. I've played one or two very old visual novels from the late 1990's / early 2000's that have quite thin plots connecting explicit sex scenes, and Sakura Spirit isn't like those. The plot is more touching and well-written than it has any need to be. It's light-hearted but can be touching and even tragic at times. They clearly wanted to make a lewd game, but that isn't all it is. It has heart in it. Also, at least the version I played (purchased here on Steam) had no explicit sex scenes in it. The ending is also heartwarming.

Back then i was unhappy about the lack of choices to make in this game and how little we can impact it, but i supported the game and bought it hoping, that they would eventually improve, a sequel was supposed to come out if i remember right they said back then even that there will be a sequel, and the story ends unfinished. But it actually never came out yet after many years. I can't recommend any of the Sakura games.

A solid Visual Novel that I suggest for fans of that genre. The fanservice is great too!

The first Sakura game from the WingedCloud.
It is a very short comedy visual novel.
The main selling point of it is the ecchi art by Wanaca. It is better than most out there.
However, that's where positives end.
The story is very short and very generic. Standard isekai harem where main character, who ofc does martial arts, ends up in alternate fantasy-past where he has to save the Wor... a village. It is pretty much a kinetic novel as there is barely one choice which has no influence on the ending. Actually, there is no proper ending. It feels like this game is just a prologue to a bigger story. No part to so far, so I guess continuation was never planned.
The heroines are based on the standard tropes like tsundere or imouto/onee-san, with little to none character development.
The music is ok, but sometimes I felt that it did not fit the scene.
Overall, 4/10. I can't recommend it. Plenty of better novels out there.

A cute short comedy VN with fox girls, and some regular girls too. Mature warning for nudity and dialog though.

I'VE MADE A HUGE MISTAKE
I'VE MADE A HU…

This is just about the most poorly-written VN I've ever played. Mercifully, it's unbelievably short, so the suffering doesn't last long. Still, don't waste your money.

Sarkoth

Sub-par visual novel with literally one single and completely plot-irrelevant choice. If you're only here for explicit content, there is none either. The art is decent, but the writing is partially cringe-worthy, even for the genre.

It really shows that this was the first title they developed. Later installments are much better.

The pictures are above average. The story is pretty standard. The sound is good enough too, though im pretty sure its a midi file. This visual novel is just average. But the thing that really shits me... isnt even how short it is... its that there is only one branch/choice in the story and it has hardly any effect on anything.

Nice romantic love story, nothing that hasn't been done before, the writing was pretty good easy to understand only couple of typos that i saw other then that it is well written imo. There's only one real decision to make with low impact on the overall story but overall i think it was a real good visual novel.

This game is a fun to read novel, although it only have one choice to unlock the gallery art. The characters are lovable and the arts are lovely. I think this is the first of the Sakura series and in my opinion it is a good start.

I was expecting the game to be way more graphic, but it stays very pure (no complete nudity or "18+" stuffs really, barely just "half-covered" at some moments). Charming characters, although the story a bit lacking? And very wholesome (and surprising) ending!

I wasn't that interested in the story, which takes about 2 hours to complete. There are two paths which lead to the same ending. For a visual novel it's kind of meh to me, but I hopefully will like the rest of the series and this is just the prequel because I got this game in a bundle with the others. The characters are ok, I guess. I hope there will be better development later for all that text... Just anime tiddies aren't enough for me in a VN.

The Sakura series. A series of visual novels from a group of degenerates known as Winged Cloud. When the series began 6 years ago, I tried to read it for the sake of the story with the sexual content as an added bonus, but not the main attraction.

Sakura Spirit is one of the few games in the series where this is possible.

This "game" certainly has a lot of hyper-sexualized females in it's cast of characters, but the story genuinely interested me. Keep in mind this was before the isekai craze even started, so when the MC was sent to a fantasy feudal Japan where magic exists, it was pretty awesome to me. I really enjoyed the journey the MC took to try to get back to his world and the fact that he doesn't even really want to go back but he knows that he has to. it was a really good story back when it came out. Same goes for Angels and Fantasy CH. 1. After that, however, the Sakura series became a series of storyless eroge's with even Fantasy CH. 1 getting an R18 patch. Personally, that's not what I read VN's for. If I'm paying $10 for a VN, I want a decent story. The only one after Fantasy CH 1 that I thought had a story worth paying $10 for was Sakura Nova.

If you want a series of short VN's with decent story and some ecchi, buy this. If you like it, try Sakura Angels, Sakura Fantasy CH. 1 and Sakura Nova. Sakura Santa is also okay but only because of one specific ending that hit me in the feels. After that, I would not recommend sticking around unless they finally give us Sakura Fantasy Ch. 2 and complete the story, but that's about as likely as Half-Life 3

M'kai Noren

The only reason you'd play this is for the CGs. The text is cringy, it feels like what a weaboo imagines "japan" would be like. It's pretty rough. Maybe the other games are better, because this only has a single choice with no impact to the actual narrative.

The art is okay. Not to my tastes, but it's just well drawn.

Just look up the CGs on the internet somewhere. Save yourself the whatever this thing costs.

The start of a series, something old yet new.

PROS: This is a fairly standard by the books ecchi visual novel, with nothing too obscene, and a light, simple story to invest oneself into. The lack of hentai makes it easier for some to slide into, though some of the images are a tad racier than others. The characters have their cute and charming moments, and it's a very easy read. The visuals are decently drawn, and a few pieces from the soundtrack were calming in their simplicity.

CONS: Sadly, there isn't too much to take away from this visual novel other than it's simplicity, as most else is rather standard. Some may find some of the racier images borderline hentai on their own, and many would label it questionable content at most. Finally, although it doesn't state it, this is actually a kinetic visual that only has one choice to the end, providing no change other than a few new CG's.

FINAL: Sakura Spirit is a rather standard visual novel that launched the Sakura series into existence. I feel as though even if I played Sakura Spirit around the time it first came out, I would still feel the same. It's harmless, providing a quick bit of cheesecake, and could be worth an examination, but may not have much else to back itself up after that first look.

This game saved my life.

I am 27.

My ex-wife and I have a daughter together, and adopted our son together. They are now both 4 years old.

When we were going through our separation, I found myself lost and miserable. I was self destructive. I got so mad one day from everything spiraling out of my control that I punched some concrete in a moment of overwhelming emotion. That caused me to break my 5th metacarpal in my right hand... my working hand... my games hand.. the hand that I held and carried my children to bed with.. The hand I desperately needed to make sure I could continue to provide.

After learning of the severity of my self-inflicted damage, I was depressed. Keep in mind that just a few months before this, I was the happiest man with no history of depression or anxiety. I have never had fits of rage, or been one to break down and cry, but I was in a low spot that just really buried me from being able to see the light on the other side.

Having nothing better to do, I searched for a game I could play, ONE HANDED while I recovered. I somehow stumbled upon this game and read some of the reviews. I decided that it had to be worth a shot... I must admit, I didn't beat the game, or play nearly as long as some of you. In fact, I may have only played this game a day or two.. With that being said, after doing so, I had a new found joy and hope for life. I was able to put behind me the pain and suffering that had been cast over me. I was able to experience other peoples joy and happiness. I was able to see the fruits of my "labor". I relaxed for 5 fucking minutes to this music long enough to realize that I was going to be okay.

After coming to that realization, I turned the game off, and I went back to work. It hurt my hand like hell but I was motivated. I stopped feeling so damn sorry for myself, and I became the father I needed to be in that moment, not the weak boy I was behaving as.

Today, I am close friend with my kids mother. We don't fight, or argue, or say hurtful things to each other. We are parents, and friends.

I now have 3 kids. My third child is, wait for it, ALSO 4 YEARS OLD. The woman I am with was going through a very similar situation at the time of my own separation, and we just stumbled in to each others life unexpectedly. We have been in a relationship for a year now, and are very happy together.

Moral of the story, you never know what life holds in store for you, and if I would have given up when all the odds were stacked against me, I wouldn't be where I am today. This silly little game helped me realize that.

Thank you.

A very short and not too polished visual novel, but a satisfying one. Likeable characters, sexy fanservice. Kudos on the protagonist being an actually capable character although his personality is, like the genre usually does, a rather bland person. Minus would be the unfortunate lack of assets, especially obvious by the reused monsters ones and the characters not having alternate outfits such as during the festival. Characters are not obnoxious, this is really just a fluff plot you can just sit down and enjoy the ride to !

It's a harem anime you can click through instead of watch. There are no decisions and the whole plot is girls trying show you their panties/bewbs. Which you get to see a little of. The art is really pretty though.

Set in a world where nobody knows how to keep their clothes on, Sakura Spirit delivers a truly pioneering experience where you finally solve the ancient mystery of "What does the fox say?" 🦊

And apparently the fox says: "Let's undress and share body warmth, nyaa~" 😻

The art is well-done, the characters distinct, but the story itself is lacking. While the writing gave me some chuckles, the typos will have you scratching your head wondering if they even playtested the game before release 💀

But at the same time... I did have a wet fox girl suggest that I taste her. So there's that 👀

My first Sakura experience, I hope to see the games evolve in quality going forwards! 🌸

Sakura Spirit is a very interesting world and has a kind of past age feeling given the shrine and the small village in the middle of the forest.

We are about to have a judo championship and we are looking for good luck, but somehow while going into the destined shrine, the shrine sends the protagonist into another world or a past time of the current world? (which is unclear at this point, both answers can be right) and we have a quest given which we have to accomplish if we wish to be able to go back in our time/world to do our Judo competition. While in this quest we have to find out what it truly is we have to solve and a way to accomplish it, which at first glance doesn't seem easy since we have to face spirits and a hotblooded "Tsundere Tyrant".

We are accompanied by an adapted typical Japanese music which fits very well the story. I did really like this music this time around.
Characters a the typical Winged Cloud design, different character sprites, and clothing.

The story is fun, we have some ecchi fanservice with hilarious scenes, some action, and a lot of strange situations we have to face always accidentally. This spiciness gives the story a nice touch and an agreable pacing through the given quest we have to solve. We are able to befriend both fox spirits and the village guards and get the villagers to see the spirits in a different manner.

Overall I did like the setup of the story, the agreable environment and world, and the very interesting characters. I can recommend it further!

I thought these Winged Cloud games were good when I first started reading VNs, but frankly they're all just bad.

Everything you see in the trailer is pretty much it. The backgrounds rarely change, the characters use the same poses with slight facial expression changes every few minutes, and the story itself is mediocre at best. The dialogue isn't half bad.

There's no nudity at all, and only suggestive images (melting clothes, but only half melted, for example), this game having the nudity tag is rubbish. No explicit sexual dialogue, just chitchat with cheeky remarks.

Jal

Sakura Spirit is a visual novel about a young up-and-coming judo star that goes to a shrine to pray for luck in his upcoming match and suddenly finds himself in another world. He gets caught up in a little fracas between a couple cute fox girl spirits and another couple cute village guards. He must solve their conflict to return home.

The story is lighthearted and fairly short overall, clocking in at roughly 3 hours. There is a single choice near the end that changes things up only slightly, unlocking different CG. The graphics are certainly suggestive though there is no real nudity in the game, the most revealing image being nipple-less breasts semi-covered with a top. Also, there is no external patch.

The ending implies there will be sequel, though I don't believe one has been released. I do recommend the novel but not at full price. This is not a $10 story, it's simply too short and without any nudity. I'd wait for at least a 50% discount, probably more.

☠️☠️☠️ - Horrendous

(This game has no redeeming qualities.)

    • This is barely a game: there is only one (ultimately meaningless) choice to make in the whole thing.
    • There are options in the menu that don't do anything.
    • The story was so boring and generic that I couldn't even read it all, just clicked through most of it, waiting for some interaction that never came.
    • The music is generic and mind-numbing. There is no voiceover.
    • There is no nudity, only suggestive drawings, too cartoonish for my taste.
    • There are no achievements.

See all my ratings at my Curator Page.

☠️☠️☠️ - Borzalmas

    • Nincsenek achievement-ek.

I am a 35 yo father, probably one of the oldest people playing this game. I am a single farther to my Son, who is 24 now. My son got this game for Christmas in 2022 from his uncle, so we installed it on his computer and he started playing. By the end of the week he had 24 hours on this game. This was horrible for me, as it was already hard for me to find ways to spend time with my son, as he is always out with his friends or just watching YouTube. So I decided to make a Steam account and get this game to see if I could maybe play alongside him. I loaded into the game, picked my character and started playing but I was stuck on what you where supposed to do. I asked my Son for help and he hosted a game for me to join. This game has ever since brought me and my son closer again and now we actually spend time together outside the house together as well. This game reminded me that there's fun to be had in everything, and it has brought both me and my Son many happy memories.
