EDIT: The game is finally working fine - no more controller issues and when I exit the game, I'm no longer placed 2 meters below the floor in SteamVR Home! Performance is also improved - so I can finally recommed the game!

My old review:

BEWARE - this is alpha software or early access, it's by far not a game ready for full launch. Performance is significantly worse than the demo, probably due to the added AI players - maybe. I'm using an oc'ed RTX 3090, and this game is just as demanding as Reviving Lone Echo 2 with Ultra settings, lol - but unfortunately I'm not kidding.

Worst, often I can't even start the game - that is, the game starts, but then my Index controllers are locked, can't select anything. Seems I have to be standing in a correct position when I start the game, or controllers will/may be locked. When the game is running, you cannot reset your position using SteamVR - the reset position becomes deactivated - might be the issue causing locked controllers.

Also exiting the game using the SteamVR button, I get placed like 2 meters below the floor in SteamVR Home. Clearly devs did little or nothing to test this game before launch. Did get the game to work, and fun thing - after finishing a track there's a Continue button, but it does not work. There are very few buttons in the game - how can devs miss that the "Continue" button is not working?!

Do not buy this beta/alpha software yet - there's a nice but small game hidden under the lack of polish, but it's not ready yet. I did enjoy the dynamic shadows and nice views, but not much is going on - the performance should be twice as good as it is now.

There're also only 4 levels (4 x 2 for day & night), you do get very limited content.

In short, do not buy this less than half-baked cake, but do get the free demo - the free demo is much better than the lackluster "full" version, even if the demo also may cause locked controllers and falling through the SteamVR floor.

A soft and pleasant simulator. Very similar to real skiing. I would like to add the Freeride mode. And if you don't play with real players, then it's boring to ride with bots (very easy). 7/10

Skiing VR seems to be a promissing VR arcade ski game

It's not a simulator game, but feels pretty good, and by far it's the best ski VR game on Steam. It looks stylish, it's really fun and relaxing.

But it's overpriced, you'll get only 4 maps and only 3 modes to play, I hope the devs will add more content.

And it's hard to meet anyone in multiplayer. I want to ski, fellows!

8/10

This game was my first VR experience, and it's fantastic! I even fall off my feet a couple of times. I hope wish be more new locations and maybe some events. And yes! I'd like a place where I could spend all of the coins, until that moment they are fun but useless

This is actually my first review! I don’t really understand games, but the feeling of this VR is simply stunning! The whole body seems to be floating and moving along with you across the snowy landscape! I also really liked the music - so calm and organic! I have a Rift S and the game launched through the oculus without any problems. I saw that some wrote that there is a problem, but I personally did not experience any problems. Atmospheric, Competitive, Feelings.
There are some bugs in the game, I hope the developers will fix it soon.

The game is excellent, but why I’m not allowed to ski to the top of the hill?

They told me that VR skies are safe and I would never break a leg. Now say it to my TV. Absolutely recommended.

Well, this game will be interesting for those who want to keep their body in good shape. 2-3 descents down the slope with friends will make you sweat. I advise the mode for a while or better for glasses, excitement in the eyes will be provided. As for me, the game scores 6/10 points, there is not enough online in the game.

my advice is to add a character acceleration effect when pushing off the snow with sticks. add for the passage of cards options of equipment for the desire to play.

Of the minor disadvantages:
-the hands in the menu are too big.
-the music disappeared from the menu at startup a couple of times.
-the laser pointer from the hands in the menu is raised too high.
-the height is displayed incorrectly, my avatar was 30 cm higher above the ground.

I'm sure these little things will be fixed soon)

An interesting game. I haven't seen games in this genre yet. There are several game maps and several game modes. It is interesting to ski from the big mountains. The only downside is optimization, sometimes there are small freezes.

Just started Skiing VR, never played a VR sports related game before. I was not expecting that - skiing in VR blew my mind.
It is also a very nice looking game with great music, overall a pleasant experience. Looking forward to play with my friends. I hope the developer will keep adding content to the game.

In my opinion this game on this step is just for relax. If you are expect only this from this game you can buy it. If you are waiting something else I would not recomend.

The game has 3 game modes: race, time and score.

1)You can try to play "race" with your friends (I wasn't try) but I don't think you will play it for a long time because you will fast get bored. Playing race mode with AI don't give you much competition and you will win the race just on relax.

2)Time "try to finish the track as fast as you can" there is no interest for me to play this game mode. Try to compete with my self using just skiing mechanic? But for what? No, not this game.

3)Score. Sounds more interesting, right? In this mode you will not just skiing but also collect coins on track. More coins - more score. But you collect only coins and that's all. The same tracks as other game modes no interesting buffs, debuffs, no opportunity to die. You just collect it and will not get any reward for this except "score". It's also boring and you don't have any motivation to play this.

All game modes are boring but I found one thing that can be interest for now. And it is just play for relax. The game has some pretty nice soundtracks and atmospheric night winter tracks. Go to the setting make sound tracks louder turn on race or time game mode. Choose track you like, night tracks works the best for it. And just RELAX. Do not compete and try to win, just RELAX.

So I can see only two directions this game can evolve.

The first - as relax game if it will get more atmospheric tracks and soundtracks.

The second - evolve in score mode. If it will get more competitive with buffs, debuffs, opportunity to die and rewards.

Or maybe the some mix of these two. Just like beatsaber it has a great competition and wish to get better plus it great musical and lightshow atmosphere with felling you are dancing on some tracks.

About motion sickness. If you have it you can get a bit uncomfortable but not a lot. I think it's a good game to fight with it playing some track a day and get used to it.

I like real skis, but can't ski often, so I decided to try this simulator :D What can I say... It's pritty sismilar to real ski, i suppose. When I finished my second ski slope my legs were tired, because I trided to control myself on the track with my legs (as I did it on the real ski track). That was fun! Also I really liked all dark/night tracks, they are so beautiful! *_*

p.s. I would like to be able to fly off slope :D Even if the game is over ))

Good responsiveness make you feel like you actually skiing! Definitely recommend!

this might just be the harshest VR game i've played to date when it comes to motion sickness, also it claims to support single-player and with-friends multiplayer but You can't play without joining/hosting a lobby and as far as I know you can't set a private/name-protected lobby
