Absolutely easy fun to be had here - about a 1-2hr game where you can have some fun working through a proper -choose your own adventure - 5/5 Good value for the price paid.

When the game ended - I thought I had 'solved' chapter 1 of 2 or 3, but honestly the content / story quality for the price paid is awesome - it'd be great to see episodes 2 and 3 .. and maybe more for about the same price per 'episode / chapter'

It's short, text-heavy, and mostly just a choose your own adventure game. This could have been a browser game easily enough.

My play time is just over an hour, which is one play-through. I haven't felt like coming back to it since then.

Worth it if your expectations and the cost line up with all that.

Finally, you can judge over entire species the way you want. They constantly try to overstep and burder you with their pity things and it's up to you how you handle those pesky, wannabe world dominator.s You can be a troublemaker, a problem solver, a shit stirrer, or an evil mastermind.

A nice little game, go buy it. Better and more creative than most AAA titles.

Pretty much as advertised. Graphics are what they are. Honestly, absolutely brilliant writing. Quirky. Funny. The writing is short too. You're not reading a book report in order to make decisions. There's about one hour of content which I guesstimate could be replayed a couple of times by someone who wants to explore the most important choices. The only problem I have with this game is there is no space stenographer in the space court, but I guess that just leaves room for us in Space Court 2.

(That last bit was a joke. Stenographer humor is the best humor.)

Short Sweet. Well crafted characters, they're kind of a jerk but also so cute and likable.

A minor complain, in this game a single mouse click advances the dialogue. It feels rather awkward since in most games it would only complete the dialogue. Maybe it's by design so people won't rush through them.

Really enjoyed this game. You play as Space Judge, a judge whose litigants are on the edge of disaster, or causing it. Your choices determine the outcome for better or worse. Most importantly no matter how well or badly you do the jokes keep hitting.

A fun, almost relaxing, little guess the motivation game. Very glad I picked it up.

This is a delightful game that I'd easily recommend. It's funny yet well thought out, and my only complaint is there isn't more of it. Seriously, dev, if you're reading this, make more court cases, you clearly have the tech to do it, and we'd love more.

Even for its price - 50% off, the game was too short and the jokes were not funny. I played through it multiple times and while the endings are ultimately different, the gameplay is almost identical. Maybe its just my sense of humor, but it was not fun to play or funny.

What a gem. It takes about an hour to 90 minutes to play, so it's not particularly heavy on content - but the writing is excellent, the characters are memorable and fun to read, and the pixel art is chunky but flavorful. A bargain when it's on sale, but frankly I think it's worth the price of admission even at five bucks if you like jokey visual novels.

My game of the year, hands down. Brilliant, hilarious dialogue, no game has ever made me laugh so much. If you like surreal, off the wall humor, that is very upbeat sense to it (without any meanness), please get this. And your decisions make a huge change on what happens!! But most of all, even though it is pretty short, the game is very good at making you care about the characters. They are all such fun, believable characters. Please make sequel, would buy immediately!!!

I love this little game!
It's very well written and actually funny.
It took me exactly 68 minutes to see the credits and for the price that is totally acceptable.

So i'm sure i'll pick it up again and see what happens when i'm less diplomatic.

This was a great little game! Play one week in the life of a judge in a space court who arbitrates disputes between alien races. The game centers mostly on two disputes, with some side-stories along the way. Try not to get on anyone's bad side--one week is longer than the last guy at your post lasted!

The dialog is often hilarious! I plan to play through it a couple more times just to experiment with different dialog choices and possible outcomes of the game.

What a wonderful, charming little game. I've just spent the evening playing this and I would pay more for it if I could. If you've somehow heard of this and are looking for a recommendation: buy this, Full price, right now.

Wonderfully written, gorgeous and evocative old-school graphics. One of the funniest games I've played in a long time, rivalling the high points of NOLF, Psychonauts, Portal 2 etc.

This is a really fantastic little game. I laughed out loud at this more than I have at any other game I've played recently.

As you can see from my playtime, it's a short game. And honestly, I'm okay with that. It's meant to be played multiple times as there are quite a few different ways to solve your various courtly disputes. For the price, it's a hilarious, cute, and surprisingly fun experience.

I have a feeling I'll jump back in every once in a while and make some different choices just to see what happens.

Also headphone users beware, I nearly blew my eardrums out on first startup.

Something bittersweet about this game is it's short.

The bitter part is I wanted more game, but the sweet part means that if it ends quickly, we don't need to have a super solid plot. The outcome is a really satisfying but short experience with awesome characters and charming pixel graphics.

A charming, goofy game with distinctive characters and music I keep humming. The art's great and full of personality, and the writing kept making me laugh. One thing I'd like to see is, you as the Judge get referred to as "he," so it would be cool to have a toggle for that. Anyway, I only got one civilization destroyed, so I think I did good!

Definitely unique and worth a look.

Well... that was a nice episode of... oh wait.
It's a game... I almost forgot. It just feels like a 90s sitcom! And that's awesome!

It's a short game, you can finish it probably in less than an hour. Or you take your time, enjoy the humor, plan a re-play or two and try out different decisions.

It entertained me REALLY well! Totally worth buying it.
Would be great to see more games like this, or DLC, or an update, a sequel.

This is a well written story that does a great job of not taking itself too seriously and not wearing out its welcome. That's are in these days -- where writers will often beat a little too hard on one theme. And don't get me wrong, there are some serious topics and issues discussed in this game, but the way they are presented via aliens bringing their grievances to a space judge ends up being pretty hilarious. There's a lot that can be explored with comedy, and this game does a great job of it. Definitely recommend. A full play through won't take much more than an hour but I've been happy to try it a few times just to see what dialogue options I missed.

Space Court is a sci-fi comedy about interspecies relations, implemented as a Visual Novel. It is short, but priced accordingly, and provides many choices that actually influence the story.

Said story begins with you being appointed as the new "space court judge" by means of a lottery. Without much preparation, you get thrown into your first day at work and gradually learn about three conflicts involving five species. For each conflict, you can usually either side with one species, or try to find a solution that both sides can live with. The story skillfully parodies common sci-fi tropes and is full of absurdist humor, I had a lot of fun playing through it.

In terms of gameplay mechanics, Space Court follows the usual Visual Novel approach: You read text, and occasionally get to make a choice. What's notable though, is that the choices in this game actually do make a difference, the story can develop in radically different ways depending on what you do. This also provides some replay value, as there is an "optimal" ending that you probably won't be able to get in your first playthrough.

Graphics are low-resolution, but still manage to highlight the uniqueness of each species. The upbeat background music fits the light-hearted atmosphere of the game. Sound effects are rather crude but do the job. There is no voice acting.

The game is pretty stingy with usability features. It saves automatically after each screen, but manual saves are not possible and there is only one save slot. Standard visual novel options like text speed or autoskip do not exist. You do, at least, have separate volume sliders for effects and the music. I didn't really miss the lacking features since the game was fun to play and lasted little more than an hour - but it would certainly be nice if the game provided a bit more in this regard.

I recommend Space Court to players who like sci-fi parodies and/or visual novels where choices matter. It is well worth its low price, even without a discount.

What I think about “Space Court”, a short game with multiple storylines that you can choose the outcomes of!

In Space Court you have been “hired” (Or harshly drafted) by a galaxy in need of a judge. While you can make decisions that change the dialogue later on, the game doesn’t have any defined “endings”, instead they are more like small outcomes. The game isn’t that replayable and after finishing the game once or twice you get an idea of how the other outcomes will turn out. Even though it has its flaws like this, I would say the $3 price isn’t that bad.

The writing in this game is great, especially if you anger 1 of the 4 species by the end, and each personality that the aliens have is great. It is interesting to see what sides you take by the end. I somehow ended up taking the “Bloon’s” side against the “Emps”, even though I felt bad since the Emps were nicer. Some of the aliens’ cases are unjustified, while the other ones have unlikable personalities. You have:

The manipulative angry red blobs known as the “Bloons”, going against the serious but sensitive cat-bug-human mixes known as the “Emps”

The blue jellyfish-like blobs that expect too much known as the “Floaps”, going against the un-educated monsters that try to be nice known as the “Porc”

And “Melissa”, a literal missile that can destroy worlds.

This game takes a little bit less than an hour to complete, and another hour to replay. After two playthroughs, though, you have kind of seen the full game. I will recommend it because of the cheap price, and if I had to give it a rating on graphics, originality, music etc. I would probably give it a 7.5/10

Made it to Tuesday, then the game blacked out for a moment, came back, and couldn't click on anything. Had to shut it down with Task Manager. Par for the course with Unity games.

Before all of that, the game wasn't very interesting. Basically a clicker with some reading. And none of the text is compelling, every character has it's own font and color. Some are difficult to even read.

I didn't hate my time in game, but I didn't care for it either. Just an average 'meh" game experience. Space Court for the crimes of not working properly, I am sentencing you to life time uninstalling, and hidden from library.
