Divinity 2 meets For the King. The game is pretty well done for being early access and the freedom in skill trees is really nice. Pretty fun 6 player co-op game to play with friends.

Very fun game, great multiplayer and a fun rogue like experience when doing perma death. Though it needs a lot of optimisation and bug fixes, it's great when it works but annoying when it doesn't.

Pros
Good gameplay
Amazing customisation with abilities
Nice art style

Cons
Lots of bugs
Rampant lag issues in multiplayer
No real reason to pick any other option during missions other than random / event

Top tier game, ended up buying 2 extra copies for friends. Definitely a good mix between Divinity, For The King, and the aRPG formula with enough tactical and co-op to be addicting and unique.

If You're into tactical, free form character building and dungeon crawlers with friends I'd say give this game a try, I've got at least 40 unlogged hours of playing this game offline when my internet's down and You can get Really REALLY in depth with each character's build and the role they play in the party, virtually every hour steam has logged was played with friends and they enjoyed it a lot too, working together to formulate plans and strategies in VC while passing items to the player who can make the best use of it, just a good chill time all round, except when I accidentally blew up some explosive barrels wiping half the squad, then it was pretty funny. (They have forbidden from touching barrels.)

Most bosses have a unique vibe to them and a different method to tackling them as some need to be shut down quickly before they can heal and spawn minions others need to be carefully picked apart, Champions really mix things up a whole lot more than say, those in a Diablo title too to offer as well since this is a much more tactical game rather than a hack'n'slash.

While the game is in early access it shows promise and the devs do look over community feedback and suggestions quite vigilantly from what I can tell, they're pretty friendly as well and I look forward to seeing what they can deliver as things progress.

I'd rate this game a solid 7.5/10 in single player but a 9/10 in multiplayer. It can be enjoyable in solo play but even more so with some friends.

Got about 8 hours in, so here is my take. Bugs aside, this game needs serious work. I like the idea that you do 5 mini areas to reach the boss but I don't like that you can't save during your run. You either play all the way through in one session or, repeat if you have to leave. Now if the battles were only 10 minutes or so, this would for the most part be doable but I am only 2/3 through the first act and the battles are starting to really slow down. This last run I did took an hour and it only seems that the battles will get longer. Devs really needs to tone down the Hitpoints. Some of the regulars take 10 or more attacks. I have been reading the forums and co-op is even worse in this regard. I can't see how players stick through it for as long as they do. The battles are getting really boring already. I'm sure the gameplay will improve somewhat, but for now, I'd hold off. At times, it can be hard to see an know whats going on. It can get quite crowded and I'm playing on a 65 inch. Some fps drops. I run a 3090 and most battlefields cant hold 60 fps. Some barely hit 30. Audio is ok but a little lacking in the music end. Its EA so I can't really give a bad review knowing I am playing an unfinished product but if this is its core, Its not going to be enough.

When you just want to create a custom party, build your characters, and do turn based battles, craft and gear up in town, and not be caught up in hours of story and tedious side quests, this game is great! Can build fun characters with combinations of abilities from all the skill trees, looting feels similar to Diablo 2. The maps are a unique spin on the dungeon crawler, pretty simple but its fine. Overall, a nice party builder RPG.

Valnir

Cool concept but not fun so far, combat is plain boring. I am playing on Veteran so it's not like I am steamrolling over everything, the challenge is fair, most skills are not that fun to use, and too many of the passive skills are just 5% more damage, 10% more this or less that.

Same for item modifiers. I like it when stats are actually meaningful, here I get 5 str or 5 dex and honestly, it doesnt make a difference. I dont feel progression rewarding at all, I am not eager to level up.

So that's why I am not recommending this game, if combat and loot are not fun, the rest is irrelevant.

Impressive for early access. Decent amount content and seems replayable.

I usually stay away from playing early access these days but they're a decent ways through development.

Looking forward to what else is on the road map.

Very solid game for what it is. Lots of gear and skill options to customize your toon. multiplayer, great to have in a turn base game and they did it well. Kind of wish there was multiplayer lobbies or towns/servers you coulld see other players and party up but who knows. Still a good game.

I wanted to like this game, but the movement sucks. If you cant attack you should be able to move. Like, you can do an all range team and always win....... This game needs heavy quality of life changes including movement for melee heroes. Honestly. Went through 2 waves with my melee heroes not attacking once.

I love this style of game, want to love this game. This is my type of game. I could look past the boring interface, but the fact the melee units can move instead of attacking is so lame. Its a massive balance issue

Fun strategy RPG with interesting skill combinations for unique character builds. Great multiplayer compared to others in the genre due to simultaneous turns keeping things moving faster, and opens up the window for much more team coordination. Great strategy RPG to play with your friends.

Be warned, this game is -definitely- still early access. It crashes at least once a day and locks up or otherwise bugs out every hour or two. Lots of room for improvement there. Furthermore, if you're looking for a game to play solo, I don't recommend this one at all currently.

The thing that they nailed and is carrying this game right now is the multiplayer gameplay. Despite the hiccups, the netcode in this game is really well done - me and a friend have played through the first 2 acts entirely multiplayer and it works better than some AAA multiplayer games we've tried.

The classless system works well with rewarding skill trees and many possible builds. Those build options really shine with a full team of 6 characters, and I appreciate that it's very easy to respec when you find a build's not working out.

The loot system works okay, the 'crafting' (aka enchanting) system is nice and expands as you progress through the acts.

Overall, I recommend this to tactics lovers looking for a multiplayer game who don't mind it being rough in its early access state. Looking forward to future updates.

If Divinity had this games monster mechanics and scaling along with its class system, I would consider Divinity a perfect game. This game is for class customization and battle junkies and it really focuses on that. The difficulty system scales really well compared to every other turn-based game out there. When you hit certain levels to unlock certain abilities, it feels game changing and rewards you to be creative.

Also the simultaneous turn system makes online-coop very enjoyable. Highly recommend if your looking for a combat focused turn-based game.

Really loving this game. Would recommend to any Turn-Based RPG gamer who wants the freedom to create a character how ever they see fit and explore. Can be a long time in between the leveling and farming for gear, but those who are into the grind will be rewarded.

It's a really nice classic tactical RPG. The game has a really standard theme, the controls are really smooth, and its gameplay is really well executed, specially with building and mixing skill trees. Combat is fun, there's ragdoll and the enemies have a lot of humorous lines.

The soundtrack is really dull and uninspired. Unfortunately there's no saving mid-quest, so if you start it, you need to go through it all, and that can take a while. Also, loot seems a little bit generic and numerous, it can feel a little bit overwhelming having tons of the same equipment.

It's a good game overall, recommended! Can't wait to see the full release!

akam88

Really fantastic game. Very refined for EA too, and the graphics are well polished (I love the art style). Rewards tactical decisions and leveling. Classes are flexible and you can respecialize, which is great as I went through some builds for a bit and realized I didn't like all of the skills, so it gives you an opportunity to test out and then adjust.
A couple things for the devs:
Bosses still seem really OP (at least some, like Gobfather for instance). It's still fun to keep trying, and challenging... but thing is that loot doesn't seem to scale much (harder fights don't seem to reward much better loot), and I was hoping the next town/Act would have better gear, but didn't seem to be. So it feels like there is a little imbalance between progression and enemies (especially bosses).
Honestly, it's still so fun and can't wait to watch it grow. The Devs seem great. I recommend and oh, multiplayer is great and easy to get set up :)

ChellyZ

I wish I could rate this a maybe.

I like the artstyle and the basic idea, but the battles are so similar that they start to feel really tedious. Higher HPs for the monsters you are fighting but the same basic layout doesn't make it interesting.

I think a little more polish on the UI would help as well. Anything to give it more flow and more sense of fun.

There are a few things (like replacing suffixes and prefixes) which should be more clear in the game. I had to learn the hard way.

Might change to a Yes after they finish development.

I'd suggest waiting for later updates, i'll be editing this review since i don't think i was able to do it justice the first time due to being incredibly frustrated due to the game imbalance

Graphics wise it's pleasant enough and rarely interferes with gameplay, unfortunately there are some times when the terrain makes it hard to judge if a ranged attack is plausible or if your attack is blocked

Gameplay itself is wonderful, it gives plenty of freedom to the player on building their character and party, it would be a slog to get there though because the early game is imbalanced and leveling is slow

Unfortunately there are some terrible gameplay design choices that hurt this game like the cheesy mechanics that some bosses and even mobs have, the worst of these that i've encountered being the skill Horrify by the butcher, it causes you to run in fear twice causing you to lose a turn, it also applies a lot of bleed which causes damage when you run, and to top it off the boss also has 100% lifesteal that benefits from this making it horribly broken against parties, mind you these boss skills are not actually casted but are free moves

another issue i've found that causes the imbalance is the scarcity of items, for example, i was at level 7 tackling a level 7 instance but my items were on the 2-3 level range, i am now at lvl 9 but my items are still lacking which is compounded by the very limited shop stock and the extremely expensive items sold there (these are usually not rare items btw), the loot given by mobs are also usually set to the level of the instance, the loot is also tied to specific mobs so unless you encounter a very diverse class of enemies during your runs then some of your characters will have no choice in new gear specially since loot drops are also scarce

overall though stolen realm is a fun experience and has a lot of potential, a game combining diablo mechanics with final fantasy tacticsesque style can only be a plus on my book, add the fact the devs seem to be active in working with the community and you've got yourself the potential for a banger of a game

tl;dr great game, very imbalanced right now, got great potental though so wait a bit or give it a buy if you can handle the balance issue

OLD REVIEW:

played for a bit and the first thing i noticed is that enemies rely on cheesy mechanics to win, the first boss for example summons tons of exploding barrels AND summons about 6 allies every few turns, mind you these aren't weakened summons, they're normal enemies that you worked hard to remove from the field earlier EDIT: apparently they addressed this recently by giving the summons summoning sickness, didn't really help much in my case but know it was there

i thought this was gonna be a one off thing but it happens again and again, on the second map i opened a chest that causes an encounter, in this encounter there's about 15 enemies, a few of these are elites that cause aoe damage that also lowers your max health by 20 rendering your tank useless, i tried it multiple times but was only successful after over leveling a bit, this seems to be the theme, you can't have a fair fight against enemies of your own level, you need to rely on over leveling or follow one of the cheese builds in order to survive, another thing to consider is that traditional health and armor barely matters, what matters are those cheesy mechanics like preventing death

anyway, third map is a golem that does a charging attack that can 1 shot you if you don't get out of warned areas, at the same time it does gigantic amounts of splash damage, this was actually doable and even if you get screwed by barrels preventing you from moving, it's your own fault

4th boss is when i decided to put this review, boss casts a spell that makes you run away in fear twice (once during cast and once after making you lose a turn) it also causes multiple stacks of bleed which causes huge damage when you run AND also heals the boss because it has life steal (the bleed also life steals i believe), saw my party fall one by one and the boss getting back to full hp, there was absolutely no way to avoid it at my level and hits all of your party, oh and to top it all off, after an hour of retrying to cheese the boss i finally got a shot, and then, it bugged out... the round wasn't ending even though we were all skipping (no choice because of the aformentioned fear).

after this no matter how many times i retry my tank can't move, it just bugs out. i was playing on the 4/6 difficulty btw

I'm gonna open the comments so the usual GIT GUD fanboys can have their fill, basically, good game with decent ideas, horrible game balance that relies on extremely unfair mechanics instead of smart AI tactics, still a bit buggy and it seems it's not well optimized yet since it lags my computer despite the simplistic graphics

Not sure what happened, played for about 12 hours but steam only registered 2. Came back to see 10 hours of progress gone which is a huge bummer. TL;DR probably won't come back to the game until there are some major updates.

+ Aesthetic / art direction / etc. are nice if you like this style
+ Character customization yields a lot of options
+ RPG elements (skill trees, loot, stats, party system, etc.) are pretty strong

- Bugs
- Difficulty scaling is WAY off, if you try to start the game on the harder difficulties you'll steamroll the trash mobs and fail the bosses constantly. It says higher difficulty compensates you with better rewards and XP but I saw no evidence of that. Only after farming gear on casual can you go back and complete quests on the higher difficulties
- Turns grindy quite quick, encounters are fairly one-dimensional once you've played for a couple hours
- General lack of overall polish

Final thoughts: I enjoyed my time with this game but losing all my progress plus what I listed above has left me feeling like I can't recommend it in its current state. It has the illusion of robust content, but once you realize the different "acts" (a la Diablo 2) are all just grinding through the same formula it really loses its charm. It seems the devs are active in deploying updates though so I do have hope it'll turn into a great game some day.

Solo wizard massacred by 7+ bears, five times in a row. I tried decreasing the difficulty from the highest to the lowest, each time it happened. Game basically has no balance. I don't get this game.

-----------------------------

Aug 22, 2022 Edit:

I don't even understand the childish comments - I bought three games and had to give them a thumbs up or a thumbs down ( within a relatively short timeframe ).

I have 40 years of gaming experience.

I know that I could have written a more in-depth review, so I apologize.

Stolen Realm gives you the option of building a 2-person party. So... in a traditional game you'd have a tank as the frontline defence, with a wizard in rear combat mode. This is nothing new to anyone who has played RPGs in... the last 30 years.

I have True-solo-d the Warner Brothers Gauntlet reboot ( when the game first launched ) with Merlin, on the hardest difficulties. I was usually last-man-standing in 4 player online co-op. I also True-solo-d the game with Elf on the hardest difficulty.

Stolen Realm gives you the option of building a 1-person party, so curiously, being an esports-level gamer, I picked wizard and got facerolled... five times in a row... starting from the hardest difficulty to the lowest. Maybe I wasn't supposed to fight a Spanish Armada of bears? It just seemed like the calculus for solo-player was busted.

I did like the AOE circles that gave different kinds of buffs ( defensive & offensive )... but forcing a wizard to fight in close-quarters combat, with no escapes doesn't really work (?), that's why wizards usually have teleport spells or crowd control spells. I also acknowledge that level zero wizards and clerics in D&D are not supposed to be able to project power until max level.

I always play games on the hardest difficulty ( you can see my accolades on my profile page ).

About the 0.4 hours. I studied Advanced Physics, so I inhale and exhale calculus. My conclusion was that either a 1-player wizard party doesn't work or I'm doing something fundamentally wrong.

I'm not saying that you can't create a 2-party team and have fun with this game.

I never actually bothered to try 2-party because... why would I, if solo Wizard is busted?

My review doesn't negate the many positive reviews for this game, it's simply a counter-point.

Malitias

DoS2 meets Diablo.

Loot and scaling reminds me of typical ARPG progression.
Except it's a turn-based game and, boy oh boy.. You and your party members take your turns simultaneously and that changes everything for me.
In games like Divinity Original Sin, every fight you enter can be a serious time commitment. Even when the fight is going to be trivial. This is not the case here. You don't spend 80% of your playtime waiting for enemies or your friends to finish their turn and that alone is a MASSIVE improvement to the formula.

This is not a story focused game though. It's only an RPG in the sense of leveling up and equipping your character.
You're not forced to keep playing with the group you started playing with, so you and your friends can play individually and group up again later. A lot more co-op games need to do this.

On the technical side of things, there is definitely some need for polishing. The mouse is somewhat jitterish/bounces back when you move it around fast and some minor bugs are present. But everything I've encountered looked like some simple coding oversights and easy to fix.
Some UI elements are tedious to go through as well.
Having to click on the item you want to sell and then go down to the sell button each time is.. Well, tedious.
Consumables should be possible to quickslot, instead of forcing you to interact with the consumables-submenu every time.

I can see a lot of potential for various builds with its free-form skill trees. That is easily one of the best aspects of the game to me and I'm hoping they will expand this even further in the future.
IMO each adventure/run takes just the right amount of time to go through. Each fight itself doesn't take too long and the various gathering mini-games and events somehow manage to make the game not feel as monotonous as a lot of other dungeon crawlers. Frequent enough to be a diversion and short (really short) enough to not feel intrusive.

I think this is one of those few games in which you feel that the developers are actually trying their best to offer a fun and pleasent experience. And it shows. Not encountering huge and obvious bugs also means they don't dump entirely untested versions on us.

So.. The current state is already well worth its money and I'm looking forward to what else they will come up with for the game.

I found this on the Steam sale for 12.99 in the morning and then played it 13 hours straight. It already was worth the price. It is addictive game play loop to me. I played a lot of Diablo and Grim Dawn and enjoyed those. I own Divine Divinity Original Sin 2 and tried several times to get into but never could. This one has the turn base combat I like in DOS without the wandering all over the map solving riddles and whatnot, just straight combat grinding with simple maps like Diablo.
I already have several different builds I'm thinking of and am just getting started. I prefer the Diablo and Grim Dawn style of art over this, feels almost like minecraft, but the game play more than makes up for it.

If there are any other games like this I'd like to know what they are in comments. War Tales is close but there is no magic it is melle only gets stale to me after awhile, and the camping and traveling is tedious. .

So only a few hours into this game and despite it having a few 'Early Access' issues it is a compelling and fun game. Building and equipping characters is endlessly fun and the flexibility of the build system is probably the star of the game. My Warrior can cast Fire spells, my Thief has several ranger skills and my Ranger is actually a two-handed axe wielding lunatic that summons wolves.

It is easy to figure out the game systems and the crafting system and the core combat mechanics of the game were very easy to learn.

It was easy to get accustomed to the game and I am having a hell of a time smashing and casting my way through quests and leveling up my party.

Great fun.

Jojo

I might come back to it when it's finished. But for now, I refunded it after an hour.

Devs, my takeaways I didn't like: Moving into a new little zone always seemed like "forced" or "fake" options. Like, you go into a new little zone, you see one or two collectibles and then an enemy. Why on Earth are we having to run to those locations? It's kind of giving the person the illusion that theres actually options and choice going on but it ends up just being extra graphics of a piece of land making me waste time running over to that Chest before fighting the enemy. Because of COURSE I'm going to go get the chest first. There's a lot of "illusion of choice" going on here, guys.

Next, the RAGDOLL enemies is cool the first 2 or 3 times then you fully see which ever one of you knuckleheads dialed up the ragdoll that much is just....amateur hour. Your ragdolling is WAY over the top. First off, they fall WAY too slow. Second, if you were knocking people around like that in endgame, that might be cool = because your strong by then. Seeing a brand new character ragdoll an enemy 45 feet away just comes off dumb as hell. Dial back your ragdoll. In fact, please play FOR THE KING to see how your ragdoll should be closer to. Where its at right now is just....dumb, guys. Like I said, cool the first 3 times, then it's obvious why it's stupid.

HEY DEVS, PROFESSIONAL ADVICE HERE: Your "super slow" ragdoll should be saved for the Bosses for a more dramatic effect. If you don't agree, that's hilarious. Because seeing the same ragdoll effect on little whelps is a ridiculous game design choice in comparison.

It's not that its completely terrible. I will likely buy the game again when it's finished and if reviews are good but I have to refund for now.

So far, very fun. Had a blast with my husband just playing a 2-man team up until we got to the Gobfather boss. He absolutely shredded us on every difficulty except casual...where we 2-shot him. Oh, and ghouls can get a little outrageous when 5 of them can just kill you in a single turn (they have a debuff that just takes away 20% of your max health). Other than that, had a blast playing this for hours, finding cool combinations with the talents. Honestly, they have a great foundation here, and I'm excited to see it how it goes in the future :)

Very well done early access title with lots of potential! Base game play feels pretty polished and is super addictive. Massive amount of build variety, outstanding skill system, meaningful and impactful loot w/ customizable affixes and enchants and interesting enemy types and affixes.

There are certainly some issues like the harder settings difficulty scaling being a bit off (especially at very low levels starting out, or very high levels towards end game) and the pool of encounter types feels a bit lacking and stale after awhile. Especially considering how the rest of the games systems are set up to allow for a lot of replay-ability as different builds and team comps.

Overall the game is super fun and more than worth the price in its current state. The developers are also super active within the community which is always great to see, and makes me hopeful that the game will continue to receive the love it needs in order to achieve its massive potential.

So far a really great CRPG that caters to enjoyable builds and loot while making good use of the random proc gen nature of the runs. Also makes a very great Co-op game with my buddy who's MUCH more knowledgeable and better at these games than I am. With just the two of us we've been pretty comfortable with the slightly more high difficulties.
Very excited to see how this game develops.

Enderstone
Enderstone

So far, the game is just a good time waster. It's just generally fine. However, It has a ginormous issue with balancing. Most regular enemies, including Elite/Champion are trivial to deal with. Bosses on the other hand, are poorly developed, with most of their 'mechanics' being a cross-map attack that ignores all of your stats. This makes bosses unjustifiably difficult, usually forcing you to rely on grinding for gear/levels, or getting lucky.

Another major problem is the 'roguelite' part of the game. Random encounters is fine, but NOT when the placement of enemies is randomized as well. It completely removes the tactical nature of the game, and forces you to just facetank most of the enemies.

The impression this game gives off is rough. It makes me feel like the Devs were sour about struggling at actual Tactical RPGs and thought they could do it better. Regardless, the game is decent, and being in Early Access, gets some leeway. I hope to see it improve some of it's weak points before it leaves Early Access.

Done25
Done25

It's...not a *bad* game, but it's kind of shallow. You fight through randomly generated battles and...that's it. There's a faint ghost of a story during the intro, but then nothing. It's literally just combat and character leveling.

The difficulty is also poorly balanced. You'll sleep through the normal battles, have to half try during the "hard" battles, and then utterly *smashed* during the boss fights.

Spelling Airor
Spelling Airor

Really fun game that scratches that itch. Music is great and enjoy the sound effects, combat animation is simple but very well done. I snicker a lot at the rag doll effects. Would suggest playing with your friends if possible as sometimes a discord group could be hard to get going. But have met a lot of friendly players who'll show you a few things about the game. Would easily recommend to anyone.

Fun co op turn based RPG;
Multiplayer works well as people can do their turns simultaniously & you can play any amount of players from 1 to 6, with a drop in & out option where they can join & leave at any given time (so no waiting for all your 6 friends to gather before proceeding)

Stolen realm is really fun. It has great character customization, it is sufficiently difficult, and is just plain fun. You won't regret buying this game, I would have paid $35 for this, but I cannot stress how much joy I have gotten from playing this game. Just buy it already!

I am really enjoying this game. My only issue is that you can spend over an hour in ONE battle because the boss enemies with Reg are that OP. We spent one battle basically just trying to survive the Troll / Ogre boss spending his 800 mana so he would stop regening and we could actually damage him. It is pretty frustrating when you get a boss down to over half health and they completely refill their health bar simply because it has been 4 rounds. Please take a hard look at this. Reducing the reg rate of one enemy is not enough. They all need to be looked at. Otherwise, this game is absolutely amazing.

For a game that is very early access, this game feels far beyond where it claims to be. In the 20 hours I've played so far, I've only found one game-breaking bug and it was easily fixed. Furthermore, the networking is the best I've encountered in any game, bar none. The developers are also very active on discussions and are doing constant patches and adding content to make the game better, something necessary in early access. I've really enjoyed it so far, although the game isn't without issues.

Buy it if:
You want to support the developers. There is more than enough content to justify the price. In 20 hours playing with someone else, I'm still on Act 1 of 5.
You like turn-based Diablo-like games. It's grindy and mostly about finding good gear and leveling up right now, so it takes a while to progress. I personally enjoy the combat so I can play that for hours.
You like theory-crafting builds and trying new things. Right now there are 9 skill trees and you can build a character however you want without limitations (other than the level 30 cap), so you can try things forever.
You have money to blow?

Problems:
There are still some bugs in the game. The game has a long way to go before full release.
The enemy mechanics can be a bit frustrating at higher difficulties where you have to build a specific team by resetting skill trees just to beat that one boss.
The game, despite the graphics, eats at your memory. My computer runs very hot, despite what the game looks like.

Overall, the only thing I would change about the game is to give it more rougelike aspects. I personally like rougelikes and would love a game like this where you could improve your characters and performance at higher difficulties without just having to grind XP and gear to get to the point where you can beat things. A roguelike addition could be that. Other than that, I can't wait for more content to come out!

Not right now. I think the game at the moment has a fun set of mechanics, but it's essentially a roguelike without much in the terms of fun variation, fun strength/weakesses in the game dynamics, I think it could be made a little linear with the map/enemies, as much of the strategic offerings don't make much of an impact, it's all incremental.

That being said, I would bet this will get a lot better with development, and the base of it is solid.

While some of the most recent changes/improvements have been contentious, there is no title I've played this year that I've had more fun with than Stolen Realm. I initially ran the campaign solo, and with just one character, but a party of four (after I'd added three friends for some co-op shenanigans) really allowed this game to shine.

Fans of hexes, tactics, slo-mo ragdolls, crafting and loot--SO MUCH LOOT--might find their Game of the Year here, just as I did.

I was looking for a game that I can play 1 handed with a newborn baby.
This has turned out to be excellent value for money and I have had a lot of fun trying different builds.
There is plenty of content for me still to go through and I look forward to the future development of this game.

I also played some hardcore co-op with a friend while on voice, I would definitely recommend this as it adds a nice social and "high-stakes" element to all decisions you make.

One critique I do have is that the quest format can get quite repetitive, especially due to the fact that the individual fights leading up to the boss can mostly be handled by the exact same repetition of spells. I'm not sure what can be done to offset this, but perhaps some quests that only involve boss could at least be a nice change of pace.

Some future development I would suggest is on the crafting screen - it would be nice to be able to see what character a piece of item is equippped to when applying a craft. For example my party contains a fire and frost mage which both have a weapon with the exact same name - I want to apply +cold dmg to one and +fire dmg to the other and it is unneccesarily hard to manage this.

Likewise it would also be nice to have more filters for the item screens, being able to toggle between sub classes of weapons or even search for effects would be nice.

A great turn based game. When i first looked over it i was worried about how the turn base work and if it will be a one time play through and then I'm bored since i don't like redoing the same content but I'm 200 hours deep and still trying to get through it and enjoying every second of it. The way the do the turn base is amazing and what I am even more impressed with is how they do the difficulty since it actually gives you a reason to do it. Most games difficulties just be more hp, more damage, and new attacks. This one does more with it and gives you more loot and better rolls.

And don't get me started with the class flexibility. If you can think it you can pretty much do it.

hatfr0g
hatfr0g

This game is a ton of fun. There are so many ways to build every character that it really just lets you do anything you can imagine. There are so many unique items in the game and they actually show up on the character when you equip it so it really makes it come alive. I looted a new hammer and when I saw how it looked on my cleric I literally went "oh hell yeah". I had to replay the first 5 maps after switching computers and it was still fun. I didn't mind going through the same bosses again and since the nerf update, it wasn't as much of a slog this time. I'm really excited to see what else gets added to the game.

My only real feedback is that I wish each character had either the name of their base class or a symbol on their little portrait to denote what they are. Earlier in the game I had a healer with a staff and a wizard with a staff and I really couldn't keep them straight. I would also like to be able to re-order the party. I can switch between the party members during combat but it might help keep them straight if I had control over their portrait order.

This is a wonderful game - well worth the price tag - with super fast, tight combat and a well-structured respec system allowing you to tweak your characters after each run. Levels 1-5 are very good; Levels 6-10 are the real sweet spot where you can explore creative builds; Levels 11-15 you start to feel the lack of late-game balance and polish - the underlying mechanics feel like they start to scale disproportionately as the leveling system adds linear enemy stats that feel like they start to outpace hero leveling.
At Level 11-15 this is still doable, but many early and mid-game builds start to be infeasible and I found myself respecing into meaty damage dealers and dedicated healer/buffer - summoning really drops off as a source of damage and becomes relevant only to misdirect and soak enemy attacks.
Unfortunately, at around hour 40 (so still got a great deal of value) I graduated to Level 16+ and the game became fundamentally unplayable for me. To be clear - not unplayable in the sense that it's too hard, I actually felt that the difficulty in the 6-14 levels was really fun and you could lose a battle in a single incautious turn or need to respec to tool your party to specific elemental threats. At Level 16+ the game becomes unplayable because each battle becomes such a long slog. Even when you have a tight build and are in control of the battlefield, you have bosses with 10K HP dropping summons that each have 3-5K HP. Conversely you have characters able to deal 500-1000 HP damage. Yes, you can carefully bait enemies into groups over a few turns and set up moments of extreme burst damage, but at a macro level the length of battles explodes and runs go from a quick, intense 45-minute affair to a multi-hour proposition. I'm happy to spend multi-hours on quests with deep, enriching story - but the beauty of Stolen Realm is that its a dungeon-crawler tactics game. You've got to get the battle time back down at high levels otherwise you're asking for a time commitment much higher than the emotional investment I have in a single combat.

Enolates

Lame. Can't even get past level 1 as a hardcore solo player anymore. Boss gets down to 1 hit left and 10 barrels spawn, instantly exploding next turn and deal 69x my health while I cant move because chilled x420 stack.

Its so good! And super addictive! Loving the class customization and the fact that there arent limitations on builds.

Improvement thoughts:
- In regards to skill level, casual is good but normal mode is a MASSIVE difficulty jump which is weird.
- Please add more things to do in town, as it feels empty and like an side thought. Maybe a tavern that you can temporarily recruit over powered and expensive unique hero's to help with a mission/run you are stuck on? How fun and cool would that be?
- More story

LOVE THIS Keep it going!! I will buy expansions if you polish this and make it have more weight! Excellent start.

The game was enjoyable, however, after several acts it got repetitive. It was a hack and slash, tactical game. It is okay if you take it an act at a time. The rewards are random, and the paths are random but basically it became repetitive. I did enjoy it if I wanted to play a bit at a time but there wasn't any story and even if you pick different pathways, the enemies didn't vary much. I still enjoyed the game for a tactical sense and if I wanted to do an act at a time.

Dc

Stolen Realm is a much much smaller version of Divinity:Original Sin series. They cut out ALL the rpg elements like quests, talking, flavor and then they also cut the depth out of combat. It's nice being able to pick skills from different classes however you want but that doesn't add much depth to it. I don't think there is a wide selection of items to justify build customization. Not that it matters that much when you can just bring everything on board as 6 players. After an act the game quickly becomes repetitive, and there is no sense of accomplishment like you don't unlock or upgrade anything other than your heroes. Even the UI looks extremely similar to D:OS games (and a weird mix of For the King). Maybe with more content I'll try it again.

Overall, it is a very enjoyable experience with or without friends. There are some areas that could use additional polish and QOL changes such as a toggle for auto-attacking on left click. More customization options for the UI in the menus would be helpful. Additionally, an area to test builds and damage would be useful to reduce guesswork about skill interactions.

Many skills to mix and match.

You'll likely have most fun playing with friends, although 99% of my hours is me playing solo with a single character.

stevewallace67

Alright, So this game is good, it could be great. But for that to happen the difficulty scaling really needs to be adjusted further.
As it is Classic mode boss will have 12,000+ Hps and deal at least 300 dam per attack.
On Casual mode the Hps are around 3,500 with a Dam Attack of maybe 100.
Their Mass Magic attacks will devastate your group followed up the others will kill you dead.
Your parties Attacks are consistant as well as Magic Dam in either scenario.
The game plays really well for the most part but leaves you wondering what the hell just happened, strategy is replaced with a desperate couple of moves before the first then second and third member is obliterated cartwheeling from the board.
The battles that lead to the Bosses are pretty good, allowing for the game to be played to it's maximum potential of a front line slug fest backed up with ranged weapons with well placed magic attacks and summons. This gives the effect of warm fuzzy feelings when the plan works.
Then you get to the Boss and it all turns to the proverbial, I guess it's OK that after getting your bleeding ass handed back to you it's possible to lower the difficulty by one notch but it leaves me thinking of reinstalling Baldurs Gate (it's been ten years)
The Crafting system is interesting, but almost ineffective with minuscule increments of F!*k all that takes a lot of time experimenting with dwindling hard to come by ingredients that it's about pointless.
Anyway in summary it's a good game that could yet be great. I will probably persevere for a while longer and be constantly on the lookout for a better game to come along. 6/10

I am a 45 yo father, probably one of the oldest people playing this game. I am a single father to my Son, who is 14 now. My son got this game for Christmas in 2021 from his uncle, so we installed it on his computer and he started playing. By the end of the week he had 24 hours on this game. This was horrible for me, as it was already hard for me to find ways to spend time with my son, as he is always out with his friends or just watching YouTube. So i decided to make a Steam account and get this game to see if I could maybe play alongside him. I loaded into the game, picked my character and world and started playing but I was stuck on what you where supposed to do. I asked my Son for help and he hosted a game for me to join. I loved it as it was the best time I had spent with my Son since my wife had died. This game has ever since brought me and my son closer again and now we actually spend time together outside the house together as well. This game reminded me that there's fun to be had in everything, and it has brought both me and my Son many happy memories.

Hold off on buying this game - it's not ready for prime time.
GOOD:
- The minimalistic art is well done & appealing.
- The skill trees have some neat abilities.
BAD:
- Absolutely no story, which is bad for single player.
- End game is repeating missions with more modifiers.
OTHER:
- Strength governs healing & magic damage. What?
- Never play melee. You can build tank mages & rogue snipers.
- Loading up on broken combinations of passives & using your base attacks is not only a good idea, it's essentially what end game builds look like.

Its a good foundation for a potentially great game.
IMHO it needs a better way to set up MP sessions with strangers as currently MM only works with IP or Steam Friends.
That being said the mechanics are mostly solid so far with a few bugs here and there.
Do not buy now if you expect a finished game but if you want to support a promissing EA project, you might chip in here.

Great game, being able to play coop from 2-6 people is really smooth, cool devs that always communicate with the comunity and prioritize doing what the community need, a lot of content for an early access game, the class system lets you build dozens of different builds and see how they perform, and if you don't like, you can respec.
Recommend for anyone who likes coop rpgs!

Despite this not having a ton of play time theirs a lot of variation with the classes for your runs, as well as items and choices. The fact that you can play this with friends I think is super cool. I wish the character data didn't act also as you're run saves but as a work around in case it never gets added to i recommend making a character to store loot. Difficulty is unforgiving at times, it can be a little repetitive. But overall I definitely think this is game that deserves support.

ouiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii :)
ouiiiiiiiiiiii…

Great game but very poor optimization.

Averaging 15 / 20 fps on a 2560*1440p screen. I have to set a more "standard" resolution if I want the game to be at 50 / 60 fps.

Not enough content for now.
Can't customize keybinds.. (why seriously)
UI is weird, not bad but "old looking", but maybe that's just me.
It gets very repetitive once you complete the main story. I like farming but when it's done right. Right now it's not ideal.

Buy it when they fix these few points and add more content.

I know it's a small team, I'm just giving my two cents.

I like this game that's why I want it to be great.

Okay, now this game is where it's at.

- Divinity like combat system with Diablo style loot.
- 6 player co-op and the game scales depending on how many people are in your party.
- Dope build diversity.
- Slay the Spire type map for missions.
- Turns are simultaneous so won't feel too bad in bigger groups.
- Difficulty levels that aren't messing around (probably more of a balance thing tho)
- End game mode with a basic loop right now but looks pretty fun.
- Game is still in EA but it seems like they have been doing work since October.

Game might get repetitive because of the turn based nature but I'm sure after getting to max level, it'll feel pretty good making a build come together. It gets one thumb out of two because we all know what's in the end game is what really counts but I haven't gotten there yet.

Dangperson
Dangperson

So far I really like the game. Real good DnD alternative. A good assortment of skills. I really like that skill trees with all the passives and active skills. The normal difficulty seems pretty balanced to me, the one with all the modifiers are at 100%. Although I do recommend when you start make a full 6 man party because you can't change the levels of the dungeons till you finish the story. I also recommend to the developers, that they add a list of possible crafting loot attained by the level, not just the gold and exp. Overall good game I really enjoyed it. Still am trying some different builds haha.

Feels a lot like the combat from Divinity Original Sin 2, but the game is more focused on that aspect as opposed to the story. That being said, I think the class trees are incredibly interesting and varied, and you can have a lot of fun building out your individual characters.

Three words to sum up this game; paradigm changing idea. This game is like if an AI polled my brain about the best parts of the top 10 best multiplayer/co-op games that have existed and blended parts taken out of them and others, almost as if by surgery in such a perfect fashion.

It has balance issues, but it's early access currently? Despite that fact 95% of early access is not this fun and functional.

Play it if you liked D2R, BG3, For The King, O.S. Divinity 2, Chaos Reborn, Slay the Spire, Pillars of Eternity and a few others you may recognize. If you ask me the title being what it is feels *very* ironic for what it is. Although the result is extremely novel and original...

It's worth buying and trying anytime. Playable for all ages, fantastic with college buddies, parents, kids. A ver very welcome form co-op to forge memories. Same sort of thing BG3 is doing but in infinitely replayable rather than story based. A game for those who enjoy chess or many popular e-sports as well.

Best played with others though. I'm hoping they add more social functions but time will tell what this project becomes. My father (70) and I are both playing solo characters. We hunt solo, meet up for game night to craft each other gear or fight co-op-tactical-turn-based-ARPG-DND style matches inside dungeons which are reminiscent of slay the spire. It needs an invoice client option! Discord works currently. And the developers have a very functional discord up. Players are actively helping the game grow into what it could be.

See you when you get it!

1. more statuses, like movement type of damage (every hex deal damage to enemy) or action type of damage (whenever an enemy use a skill deal damage).

2. Multiplayer rotating events in the future (increase loot drop modifier etc.)

It's really clear how much love went into the making of this game. It's really well balanced, it could be better optimized but the game play elements are very strong. Items are interesting but not overwhelming, the builds are different enough to allow a variety of play styles team combos etc. It's really very interesting. There are lots of interesting choices and even the map exploration has lots of little details and fun things. The game is fun and there's a lot to enjoy with the freedom to diversify your class/skills as you'd like. However, there are a few pretty severe 'issues' that make me put this as a negative recommendation - despite liking it.

1) The leveling is really slow. And I mean REALLY slow. I've only gotten to Act 2 and it usually takes 2 entire maps to get a single level. This means about 1-1.5 hours of play per 1 character level by level 8-9 (out of 30, supposedly). I saw other comments saying they're around ~150 hours and still didn't hit max level. I'm fine with the grind slowing down at 20+, but it takes too long to even reach the end of a skill tree, and likely 100 hours just to start considering a multi-tree build. Pairing this with the fact that skills deeper in the tree cost 2 or 3 skill points, unless you spend gold to respec later, you will likely need to stockpile skill points for the next 5-10 maps just to get the 3 levels you need to put in that last skill. That just seems miserable. I'm stopping myself from playing constantly because I know that I need to put in 5 more hours of gameplay just to change my character about 10%. You're best off just stacking passives in the early trees until you get to Level 13 or so, then respec to reach the end of a tree. But respeccing costs gold, and I wouldn't say it's a small amount.

2) There is no save. You can stop at any time, and if you do you're required to start over. I understand the concept, but this isn't made known to you. Once I had to leave while I was fighting the boss on a map, expecting it would save where I was and let me pick back up. Nope. If I had just played another 10 minutes, I would've gotten the huge chunk of XP I missed out on by assuming the game would save. This would be fine if you were told that so you can make a decision from there. Since basically half the XP you get is from clearing the map rather than the individual fights, closing the game then cost me another hour worth of game play to get the experience I missed. You need to be sure you have a minimum of an hour to play - probably two on higher difficulties. Otherwise you won't have enough time to finish and you'll need to start over. Sure, you get some gear, a pittance of XP, etc., but the only real reward is completing the map for a huge chunk of XP - otherwise the already-dreadful grind takes twice as long. Stupid design.

3) The randomness of enemies with the Difficulty. So, Soldier (100%) difficulty is way too easy to the point it's just casually going in and killing everything you see while staying at full health at all times. Upping the difficulty to the next (125%) felt much better. That is, until you get set against an unlucky draw of the enemies. After playing a few maps at 125% difficulty, I found I was still able to clear fights without much issue, but had to actually put thought into decisions. Then, I start another map and in the first room is a Golem and 3 other enemies - what I would normally expect to see in a 'Hard' room. I started as normal, killing everything pretty easily except for the Golem, planning on just CC'ing him until he died last. Welp, that might've worked, except he hit 3 of my heroes and killed them all instantly. Odd that everything else hits for 5-10% of my health, then you get a random Golem that hits for 150%. I had killed plenty of Golems before and this one wasn't even a special. Just woke up and chose violence, I guess.

4) Lack of QoL: The inventory system is complete garbage. You can't sort items and it's just overall cumbersome to use. Want to find that new weapon you just got? Hopefully you remember the exact name of it, otherwise you need to scroll through your list to find it. Want to sell items? It resets back to the top of the list, which, again, is not in an order you would want, so you need to individually select them one-by-one after reviewing them with mouse-overs. Not to mention, if you unequip an item, it gets temporarily removed from your inventory. You have to re-open the window for it to pop back up. Just general lack of consideration for user experience. Functional but tedious.

5) Last, and this one is very minor, is the random shops. Within maps, you can come across a shop that will sell you a Legendary item. Because it's random, it's really a toss up as to what you'll get - which is intended, fair, and is perfectly fine. However, the costs of those items are almost always astronomical. I mean 25,000 - 50,000 gold by the time you're level 5. By then, if you sold everything you maaaaay have just enough to grab one. But it's typically pointless, because you'll usually replace it with a Green you get in an hour or two.

In truth, I DO enjoy this game. There's just gameplay decisions that were made that make it so I normally talk myself out of playing because I don't know if I'll have enough time to clear an entire map - and if I don't, is the time I spend reaaaaally worth getting 25% of a level from 9 to 10, when I still don't even have very many skills/passives?

The game we have been searching for! Years and years of browsing and waiting for a coop tactical RPG. Support these guys because this is very very close to a master piece. At the time of writing this the price is 15.99, Easily a 30 dollar game considering the insane customization and replayability.

Cons- Only a few bugs seen so far after loading a saved game. Nothing game breaking and mostly animations.

Its a good game with rogue like mechanics; Randomly generated maps and events that lead to eventual boss fights. The main focus is the unique turn based combat and the plethora of ways to build your character.

The game is actively evolving as they push new updates, and its still in early access, but the developers seem very active within the community. Its a great buy for the price its set at.

If you enjoyed the combat and skills of games like Divinity : Original Sin then I'd recommend trying this game. Combats a bit simpler, but the builds are more complex.

I don't normally buy Early Access games anymore but I craved more turn-based violence. So I took the leap and Stolen Realm delivered! I've been playing it almost nonstop since purchasing it. As others have mentioned it has a Diablo style loot system however you can, with materials, add or replace the prefix/suffix on your items. There's a large variety of skills and the classless system lets you really go nuts with theorycrafting. It's pretty cheap to respec too so you can try out lots of different builds. Despite being turn-based combat is actually relatively fast thanks to the simultaneous turn system (you go, then all the enemies go at the same time). I'm only halfway through the game but so far there's a decent variety of enemy types, some with random modifiers. I highly recommend Stolen Realms!

AMAZING GAME!!!!! Do you like DOS2, Diablo style loot and Final Fantasy Tactics? This game was made for you. It's always awesome to jump into a game to see the devs played and loved the same games as you for the same reasons. 10 skill trees to choose from multiple layers. Fun engaging combat, scaling difficulty and Multiplayer. Just buy it already.

This ticks a lot of boxes for me: co-op, flexible party size, and lots of different viable builds. As an added, rarely-seen feature, co-op turns are simultaneous! The Discord server for the game is very active, and the devs are making frequent improvements in response to the feedback given there. The balance feels a bit off in places (especially around new content), but from the conversations that I see in the Discord, I have faith that this will keep getting better.

I really only have one sharp complaint: There's not much dialogue, but the writing is bad enough that I wish there was none.

If you liked the gameplay of Divinity: Original Sin 2, and you're willing to overlook the writing, this is an easy recommendation.

Constant improvements. Combat, enemies, skills, items, leveling, map, tactics have all come a long way already. The game is awesome if you are looking for a multiplayer turn based game that can handle up to 6 players.

Pretty good game in single player and multiplayer. It needs some balancing but the discord is pretty active and they update the game frequently. I'm spending a lot time trying out different combos of skills and enjoying it quite a bit.

A rare gem, there are very few games that have this playstyle that are co-op and more importantly... Good. Feels both like a party game and a serious tactical game which is tricky to achieve. I could start listing negatives, but I listed negatives and problems to the Forum and Discord instead, dozens of people agreed and the Developer listened and made dozens of changes for the better. This game has all the recipe for success, and It's definitely worth your time.

FDGAMER
FDGAMER

I'm never going to remember the name of this game. The devs could change it and I wouldn't even notice.
Gameplay is good and co-op is a blast. All players take their turn at the same time, which is very convenient, but the downfall of the system is that so does the enemy. So your tank can be killed in a single turn with no chance of healing him and it's not really anyone's fault until you learn how important CC is in this game.

Sota
Sota

early access: the systems within the game are pretty shallow at the moment but the bones are there.

party play can feel like a bit of a joke when some of the strongest builds are thorns / attack on dodge setups that require you merely to end your turn.

the item/crafting system is not as robust as you would be encouraged to believe.. (500+ items! but guess how many of those are crafting ingredients... now guess how many useful crafts there are....)

at the moment i cannot recommend, will finish my playthrough and give it some time

Stolen Realm is a BRILLIANTLY simplified hex-based tactical strategy game. It has translated some of the best combat elements of CRPGs (like Divinity: Original Sin 1+2, FF Tactics) while adapting progression and gameplay loops (like Slay the Spire's pathing) to a very enjoyable experience.

PROS
• Well worth the price, even in its Early Access state.
• 6 Player Online coop, with ability to reconnect players to the session without any progress lost.
• Incredible item and build variety
• Most classes are fairly balanced to cover DPS or utility with numerous ways to achieve 'meta' damage

CONS
• An occasional session-breaking bug, but their devs and admins are very active on Discord and will personally troubleshoot issues with you until resolved.
• Content beyond 30 can be a little repetitive, but at that point you're playing for the item grind and to test the metal of your builds against the game itself.

____
FWIW Levels 1-30 (main 'questline') are a cleverly disguised tutorial that introduces the entirety of the gameplay mechanics and challenges. I feel like the real game begins after level 30 (after your character caps) and you can really dig into builds that suit your playstyle.

The battle system is like a good chess match, really enjoyable. Lots of classes and skills to pick and build your own class with. Campaign/overworld and sound department is where they need to improve on still to my opinion. If you like a good turn based battle game, I would say this is the one (specially if you have friends who also play this game or join the developers discord and find other players for coop). Worth a buy for sure!

Stolen Realms caught my attention after randomly appearing in my discovery queue within the last two weeks, the game itself has been out since 14th October 2021. Already it has entered one of my top games.

Whilst writing this review I must stress that this game is currently in version 0.18.11 which is incredible to see an early access game perform so well at this stage.

The loot for this game is randomised and there are hundreds of items with thousands of different prefix & suffix customisation, tiers of loot (standard, T1, T2 & T3) and rarity of items from common to mythic. If you like grinding gear and creating a unique build look no further, the skill point system allows you to mix and match abilities from all classes or be a master of one.

I have been able to reach and successfully complete the 4 acts which brings you to around level 20-30 depending on side quests and events in the map zones. I have also reached floor 150 which was a great challenge in itself.

As always with early access their are a few bugs here and there but the discord, community hub on Steam and general discussions are open for a fairly active community which are for the most part easily resolved.

I cannot wait to see what this game becomes and I will follow this closely on every update, 10/10 highly recommend.

Pros
- Multiplayer - Online COOP up to 6 people (Steam Remote Play can work and is being fine tuned)
- Unique items, plenty of builds and no limit on character freedom
- The music is very chill and nice for grinding the latest crafting update
- Difficulty is flexible with 5 to choose from and amendments of modifiers late game
- Very friendly development team and community

Cons
- Bugs are present however during my 100+ hour gameplay I encountered three which didn't affect my gameplay from progressing
- Crafting although great, certain resources are only avaliable on specific map nodes, specific enemies or single quantities from the shop making it hard to swap late game gear
- Story isn't really present nor is there lore or item descriptions here, come for the gameplay, stay for the grind.

TLDR - If you like crafting, dungeon crawlers and something to fill the void whilst waiting on Diablo IV this game does a very good job and stands on it's own two feet.

Uhh. So. I have like ~15000 hours into CIV VI. I mean, obviously I love that game but I was really starting to want to play something else.

See, in 2019 I had a stroke. As a result, my dominant hand is wonky so my timing is awful(!!) so I am stuck playing turn based games. Which in itself is fine, I like turn based games. I played CIV VI anyway. I played HoMM3 back in the day. A lot. Not 15000 hours but you know.

At some point in the last year I even fired up the ol' HoMM3, which was cute for a bit but it's so woefully dated, and 20+ years is not enough time to separate me from the amount of time I played it when I was younger.

I also hate genuine RPGs. If I want to read a book, I'll go read a book. I like books. I like games that allow me to execute tactics and strategies and flood me with dopamine. Having to read and remember plot points ruins it for me, which has made games I might otherwise like very tedious, e.g. Divinity.

I check out any game that is applicable. I like Battle of Polytopia, but it's a sometimes game, I get wore out on it pretty quickly. Some others are close but something always throws me off. Or it's an RPG with a story and yuck.

I forget how I found this game, but it's been a real treat. Almost exactly what I've been looking for. It's almost a turn-based Diablo, straight up. Has the flavor of WotLK era WoW a bit too, mostly in the skill trees as an old raider I'm having fun picking up low tier skills in other trees to min/max my character's specialization. Combat is structured a bit like that old FF Tactics PS1 game but obviously not so story driven and not so granular.

I think it has a story but sorta in the way Diablo does. Deckard Cain, yadda yadda something Diablo, yadda yadda ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ You pay attention, you dont, who cares. Ive had no requirement to read anything here, I just play. As it should be.

This is very obviously in early access. It's entirely playable but there are weird UI issues. Like buying multiple potions seems to require you to keep clicking vs typing how many you want, something I recall being fixed in Diablo. Or if you're at the enchanting vendor, you can select a piece of gear but there's no indication which character has it equipped. Not the end of the world and I'd somehow imagine that stuff will get fixed eventually. But even if not, they dont entirely break the experience. But I hope they fix them! haha

Anyway, thanks devs! Definitely scratches an itch for me.

Game is definitely turn-based but not really tactical. You are never encounter tactical scenarios in which tactical choices need to be made. You are merely presented with more enemies. The correct response to every situation is not to adjust your playstyle or use abilities in creative ways, but simply to do more damage and more healing. There is an extensive skill tree but it is all just the illusion of choice.

Endgame loop is essentially non-existant. Once you get to level 30 and have completed the main story line, there is no reason to play on higher difficulties. Even if you want to do so, you will have to grind the same maps for dozens of hours to get one piece of gear for one character to the next "tier," and then you will have to repeat this for every other piece of gear, and for every other character you want to use. It will take hundreds of hours to advance one character to the next tier. The developer does not seem interested in correcting this.

after 50hours of playing the game with a friend (both controlling 3 chars each) i can say the game is really fun and worth the money the game has a lot of potential! i would love to see some improvements tho

1 tooltips - i would love to have better (detailed) tooltips for example when i hover over armor why does it not tell me what armor does in this game? i have to go to a wiki to understand it the same with other stats like crit rating

2 items - in general the items are fine but i would love if there where some more unique items not just stats and sometimes a chance to proc a skill a little bit more creativity would be great

3 difficulty scaling - the scaling felt a little of between the different difficulties like in one difficulty you feel like its to easy and in the next one its REALLY hard

i realize its early access and it is already a good game i just wish it improves in some parts to become a great game! ;)

Game is good you will def get ur moneys worth but the endgame needs to be tweaked feels more punishing to play with a group of a friends then then to play solo and only like 1-2 builds viable if u plan to climb high in the endgame stuff i feel like when thats polished i will come back to play more ill give this game a 7.5/10 atm will come back if a update hits and i think it deserves a higher score

This game is similar to Divinity Original SIn 2 but less complex. You and your friends can team up and fight enemies and the best part is that you don't have to wait on someone else on your team to go. Your team goes at the same time, so communication is key. Having a blast with the game.

Super fun. Multiplayer up to 6 people - a rare bonus with this type of turn based game. Super fun and relaxed play - Need to take the dog out mid battle? NO PROBLEM! It waits for you. Need to throw your flip-flop at your teenager for mouthing off to you? EASY! The game waits for you. Your stash works for all your characters to use with holding your crap as well as supply you with the crafting materials you need for upgrading and enchanting your gear. No friends? NO PROBLEM! You can bring all 6 of your own characters with you in Single player mode! Have friends? NO PROBLEM! You can play with up to 5 of your knuckle dragging buddies and slay monsters and take their treasures! Have friends but they've abandoned you for a night? NO PROBLEM! TL;DR
So far (7hrs in) game is great, it just needs a small polishing in ui etc. and few more classes.

In depth:
- Similar to Divinity in many aspect but has 1 action point with most of utility spells not costing any ap. I think melee classes are bit more op in early game (Which is where i am now).
- Some detailed information in UI is missing, like is the game scaling itself for 2 characters or is it dumb not to get 6 in every team. Another example is that some skills have lines in between, indicating that previous skill is required to unlock the other, but in reality it is just for shows and you actually can get the skill regardless. (Please say if you know that the game scales or not)
- Gearing is really free, as in you can go as hybrid as your dreams go. Want to grab a 2h and cast fire spells? Be my guest. I was able to make the life steal tank that i am most in love with.
- Firing line of sight for spells and arrows are important, but i was able to make weird shots that are completely blocked while the enemy weren't able to fire back.
- While i haven't tried multiplayer i do believe that it would be really fun.
So far, these are my opinions, will write more once i reach higher playimes

Divinity II original Sin is one of my favorite games ever. So finding a game that's essential a more relaxed version of it is right up my alley.

This game really has no storyline, and the combat isnt nearly as in depth or tactical as DOS, but it still has a lot of key elements and the multiplayer is a blast, if you enjoy playing games with friends then I'd highly suggest picking this up and playing multiplayer, even solo it's really fun being able to control 1-6 characters at a time. But where the game really shines is of course, the multiplayer.

-Play hardcore
-Be a Tank
-Group with your friends
-Log off
-They Continue
