The Death | Thần Trùng

Definitely has some annoyances but for a small indie game, well done. I've played many that were just too hard to find enjoyment out of. I hope these guys keep making games. I'd like to see better endings, better story telling, and less flashing lights. This game is worth the price so give it a try!

Though the game still have some bugs and some rookie mistakes since the game was made by an Indie Studio (note that this is their first game) with a few staff members ( 4 to be exact) . But, overall, the game is a 7,5/10 for a good plot, sound effects, and its graphic. The Death is a 100% must-try game.

This game is not a bad game per say. Its got some jump scares that got me good.. But thats all its working with. I screwed up somewhere along the way and got the bad ending and was so over it I just said, well guess thats it.

Its not interesting enough to finish. The character walks at a literal snails pace. The game relies on cheap scares.

The things it does do well is tell a story although in a very abstract and obtuse way. It builds a good atmosphere but it ruins it with such slow movement speed. This game should take an hour and a half. If they would increase movement speed and at least add a sprint. You are never running from anything in this game. It doesnt make sense except to bloat playtime. Its just annoying.

The beginning began strong but halfway through i just wanted it to be over.

Also the puzzles are asinine but if you just go have a smoke while the puzzle sits, when you come back you can just press G and let it solve itself. So theres that.. i guess.

Its a very very average game.. but the puzzles and walking speed and how I got a bad ending just left such a bad taste in my mouth... I would not waste your time on this.

there's a huge bug at the puzzle game: when I tried to move a piece of the board, sometime it doesn't move, or another time it disappear, or both (it cannot move and then disappear), and it happened randomly with all the pieces of the game, I had to retry the game 2 or 3 times and it made me loose my patient, please fix it because I realize there're so many gamer had run in to this bug

Overall a very good game. The scene that I found impressive must have to be said when the main character was surrounded on all sides, the situation was hanging by a hair, right after that changed the scene to the part where he looked directly at the camera and shot: "It's Than Trung time!" And the epic soundtrack started playing.Super product, excellent game. After playing, I burst into tears because I was so emotional. Relatives and friends watching me get the ending secret were buzzing in the air for 8 times because excitement. Without a doubt this is GOTY

âm thanh trong game được chen vào lúc kết thúc thì nghe là biết bị cắt ngang nữa chừng .. nghe không thật tí nào cả, vs lại game nhân vật đi rất chậm ! tốc độ chuột có thể chỉnh dc nhưng hãy để nó Defaut nhanh sẵn để khỏi phải chỉnh .. còn phần chơi game thì game hù rất nhiều ! từ mới vào game cho đến vào dc nhà là bị hù rất nhiều .. theo ý em đóng góp cho Team là như vậy .. và mong team có thể gop góp thật nhiều commet của mọi người và làm thêm những con game hay hơn , nhiều hơn

Bad graphics, there aren't any proper animation. (Cheap) Jumpscares abusing. Story pacing is even worse, the whole game can be played within 1-2 hours. Finding and using items are too easy, in the contrary the puzzles are too few and ridiculously hard. I've bought this to show patriotic support, but honestly speaking, this is exactly the quality you'd expect for a $5 game. You get what you paid for I guess.

Its bad. No tenstion, all jumpscares every 5 seconds. the puzzles ruin the immersion by wasting your time. 6 dollars spent better elsewhere.

How the fuck is this overwhelmingly positive.

Its a walking simulator with loads of jumpscares, and back and forth walking, its also really slow at that. No different from the Unity horror shovelware you find at that price.

The game looks nice and has good voice acting though.

Thoroughly enjoyed this game. it reminded me of Devotion and ParanormalHK through it's game play and graphics. I love Asian inspired horror. I would highly recommend to those who enjoy horror walkthroughs. Good story and worked great on my low end pc.

Things I would change - adding a run or speed walk button and being able to change the settings during game play instead of quitting the game to change. Hope to see more from this small team of dev's. I also loved the gaming setup in the room :)

The game definitely could've been a great experience from start to finish. It has a unique foundation for a horror story rooted in Buddhist mysticism and superstitions. However, it becomes jarringly apparent how many problems plague the gameplay:

1. Item interactions are way too simple, to the point of being lacking.
2. Over-reliant on jumpscares. The only scene that gets me is the one with the mannequin.
3. Annoying ass puzzles ruin the game's flow, especially the jigsaw one that constantly bugs out, forcing me to replay the chapter. I probably spent most of the time solving bullshit puzzles rather than playing the game.
4. The more I progressed, the story felt rushed. The last chapter felt incomplete; we could've gotten more explanation about the toys but instead, nothing.

Love the game! It has some minor glitches but can work around. A lot of jump scares that are really scary. DUT is a very small studio made by friends of TrucTiepGame, they have been working hard on this project for so many months and I really appreciate it. I played this game and have no trouble of game crashed, I think the reason game crashes because of the CPU or GPU not strong enough to pull this game. Other than that, it is a great game, Thank you DUT studio!!.

Nauseating head bobbing, slow movements, you can't set options in-game, makes me feel too motion sick to be scared

Ủng hộ game đầu tay của idol, nhưng có một số góp ý nhỏ không chi tiết của mình sau khi chơi như sau:
+ Đồ họa đẹp, không gian khá chỉnh chu ( nhưng model nhân vật lại chưa được chi tiết lắm )
+ Nhân vật đi khá chậm, nhiều bug ( nhất là chương 4 ở chỗ giải đố xếp hình ) làm mình bị bad end cũng không muốn chơi lại cho lắm ( mất thời gian vl ).
+ Lồng tiếng cũng không phải là rất tệ, chỉ một chỗ buồn cười là một nhân vật lại có nhiều người lồng tiếng ( mình nghe thế ) nên lắm lúc hơi ngượng, song nó cũng rất có giá trị vì cũng coi như là kỉ niệm của team DUT, rất đáng trân trọng
+ Game không có giá trị chơi lại cho lắm, gameplay basic và hơi có phần lủng củng. Là game do sếp làm nên cố chơi chứ bthg e bỏ mẹ từ chap 1 rồi

Không phải là một con game hay, nhưng mà chơi được và vui. So với các game indie khác thì nói thật là chưa có tuổi, nhưng mà đừng một mình thì con game nầy thật sự cũng không tệ, rất ổn. Tôi có xem TTG, cũng có thể nói là 4 5 năm r, cơ mà dù con game này có do DUT hay không đi chăng nữa, thì với gameplay như này, theo gu bản thần thì t đánh giá ổn. AE nên chơi, game rẻ mà, mua tí thôi.

Nice game. Pretty good story line if you spend time on it. Worth every penny (the price pretty cheap anyway)

Overall this game isn't bad at all, considering the price tag. I quite like the art style the devs have gone for and it did feel atmospheric throughout. The use of the lighter which intermittently cuts out was a nice touch and generally the animations are good. The audio is decent in places and there's some truly harrowing cries, screams and cackles to be heard to give enough of an impression that you're not alone.

I thought the jump scares weren't particularly effective and relied on excessive volume to startle the player. I'm not a huge jump scare fan anyway and I didn't think this game needed them. A run or jog button wouldn't have gone amiss given that your character walks incredibly slow. The backtracking became tedious towards the end.

Ignoring the negatives, I still think it's worth a play.

I have to be honest, I loved this game.
I played the demo and got frustrated during it, not being able to figure out what to do next. They did clear that up in the full game and it isn't very difficult to keep the story flowing. I will say, the longest parts are the 2 puzzles you need to figure out. Outside of that, once you finish the first playthrough, you get a better understanding of how to successfully navigate it.

I will most likely try to get the other endings. This game was fun and scary to play. The jump scares were very well done.
As with any Indie game, there can always be improvements, but overall the game ran great. It wasn't boring (until you got to the puzzles, but it went right back into the "action"). It is an item finder game (for the most part), so be prepared for that. The map is fairly small, so if it takes you a long time to figure out what to do next, you are probably over looking something.

I would definitely recommend playing the game.

its nice to see a horror game that isnt yet another unity asset flip. it does get a little loud, though. good job for a first game, DUT Studio!

Cơ bản game còn rất nhiều lỗi.
Xét về mặt Truyền Thuyết dân gian thì nên tìm hiểu lại kỹ hơn về Thần Trùng cũng như hiện tượng Trùng Tang để có thể chỉnh sửa lại nội dung kỹ hơn cho những người nước ngoài tìm hiểu về Thần Thoại/Truyền Thuyết dân gian Việt Nam hơn.
Xét về Art thì tương đối ổn về Ground cũng như Background và Map, nhưng về Texture và Detail thì tệ vãi cả hàng, nên fix lại những điểm như những bảng dán tường, những cánh cửa và các Detail có liên quan đến cốt truyện của game hơn và nên xóa đi những thứ không cần thiết không liên quan đến NPH, DUT Studio,... Tránh những thứ "Tuyên Truyền" dị hợm của cộng sản Việt Nam vào game gây ra những thứ cực kỳ xàm xí cho game của các bạn.
Các bạn nên ổn định lại Art, tìm hiểu lại Truyền Thuyết dân gian để củng cố lại cái cốt truyện cực kỳ lãng nhách, củng cố lại phần Lồng Tiếng cho nhân vật, thuê một bà cô, một ông chú, một cô gái thực sự có tâm, để cảm xúc của họ vào phần lồng tiếng sẽ giúp cho game có nhiều cảm xúc hơn là cái giọng ngang phè phè của tất cả các nhân vật trong game.
Xét chung thì game được 4/10 cho toàn bộ. Nên cải thiện lại trong tương lai.

- Game hay nhưng Jumpscare hơi nhiều và hơi dễ đoán, hi vọng có những pha jumpscare xảy ra tự nhiên hơn. VD đang chơi xếp hình thì tự nhiền có tiếng động lạ như tiếng gõ cửa hoặc tiếng cười gì đó thì sẽ tăng thêm nỗi sợ khi chơi game hơn.
- Giọng nói của nhân vật chưa được tự nhiên cho lắm.
- Nhiều đoạn đường đi bị khựng không đi được, nhất là đoạn đi lên cầu thang.
- Được cái bối cảnh rất VN, rất Hà Nội và rất là sợ nha. Thử đặt mình vào vai là 1 người thuê trọ ở đấy 1 mình lúc đấy sau khi nghe hàng xóm đồn "Nhà Đó Có MA ÁM..." chả cuốn gói chạy gấp luôn.
Nói chung là mình đánh giá 8/10 nha. Anh em nên mua game để trải nghiệm.

you must try this game, it's good! This is the first horror game from a small indie studio from Viet Nam, although still have some bugs and voice acting doesn't really good, the story line and gameplay quite thrilling.

Everything looked amazing and the vibes were awesome! I think this game was really well made by this small studio!! Except for the tower of Hanoi puzzle, everything is relatively easy to figure out. While I got the bad ending, it was really nice to play through. Loads of jump scares! I also want to warn people about flashes since they also kind of overdo it with that. If you're sensitive to it then be cautious. Some scares are rather predictable but there was still plenty to get scared over. 10/10 would recommend this game to anybody and it's affordable! You can easily play this in one sitting of 2-3 hours or even less if you're better at puzzles than I am. I love that more games made by a team of Vietnamese (and the game's even set in Vietnam) are coming out.e

At this state, the game is an unplayable buggy mess, i believe most of the positive reviews are fake since it's impossible that a bland horror game like this has as many positive reviews as the mortuary assistant.

Played it on stream and what surprised me the most was the way the game looked, mixed in with how it plays. The creators of this game really did an amazing job with this title. The puzzles were refreshing but I must admit I was lost on the order of the combo at the end of game. (vague as possible) I know this was has to be 100% my fault, but overall I LOVED this game and it's 100% worth what they are asking for it. Maybe even more. Well done indeed!
