Obey the Fist!

Warning: Asset Flip!

The Sapper is an asset flip, or what Valve calls a "Fake Game". The Russian "developer" at Educational Games paid for/pirated someone else's example/template/tutorial game, changed the name/reskinned a couple of things, and submitted it to Valve as if it was their own game. It's a very simple asset they've ripped off for making a hex based minesweeper mobile app. This really has no business on PC.

Educational Games have a known history of trying to scam people into paying them money for someone else's work, through this account or through closely linked/alt accounts. One example of Educational Games doing this is Fairy Tower Defense, which is really the "2D Tower Defense" asset, written by the actual developers, Rion5.

Taking this shovelware seriously as if it was a genuine attempt to make a game, it doesn't meet basic minimum requirements that most PC gamers expect as standard.

The game features extremely lazy, minimalist "art", of the type you normally expect to see in low effort Flash/browser games and mobile apps. Considering this is being evaluated as a PC game, having the graphics phoned in like this isn't going to result in a high quality, visually impressive game that PC gamers are used to seeing.

This looks and feels like a mobile app, but it doesn't seem to have made it to the app stores. It's unclear why this was put on Steam instead of the app stores it seems to have been designed for. Maybe it was removed, maybe it was rejected by Apple and Google (they do have more rigorous quality standards than Valve does for Steam, after all).

Regardless, for all intents and purposes "The Sapper" might as well be a mobile app, it has the same limitations and dumbed down qualities. It's impossible to recommend such a game to PC gamers. We don't spend all this money building gaming rigs so we can pretend they're iPhones and play games that might as well be mobile apps.

These technical defects push this game below acceptable standards for any modern PC game.

The poor quality of this game is reflected in the general public reception. At the time of this review, SteamDB shows the all-time peak player number was only 4 players. That's right, only 4. This is a remarkably low number, and now, the only player activity occurs once or twice a month, presumably someone loading it up to see what it is then quickly uninstalling it. Considering there's over 120 million gamers on Steam and well over 50,000 games for gamers to choose from, the overwhelming lack of interest in the game is to be expected. Gamers just didn't take this low quality game seriously, and for good reason.

The Sapper is relatively cheap at $3 USD, but it's not worth it. Given the defects and quality issues with the game, coupled with the unrealistic price, and the unethical nature of the developer, this is impossible to recommend.

I have no idea how to play this game.

Feeling terrible, fast start mode barely playable, and in Campaign mode, non-consumption of the game is relatively simple, there is consumption of the game often can not be analyzed by the number of peripherals in the target area is mine, completely luck. The situation has deviated from the theme of mine clearance games.

I'm a very big fan of sapper, and I liked this game. The non-standard approach introduces novelty, though the very implementation with hexagons came out rather mediocre. It is rather independent of the usual sapper. So go, take it.

Quite an interesting puzzle. In it, we need to clear the field of mines. You should rely on tips written on the ground, although often your own intuition will be useful. There are two modes in the game - a company and a fast game. There are also many achievements in the game.

this game makes me remember my childhood life ( minesweeper in 2018 )

Mine sweeper with hexagonal cells. You have two play mode: Compaign and quick mode. In compaign mode you need money to unlock harder boards that gives you more money and exp. points. Seems fine, but is not. Finishing a "free" level give you 10$ so you need to grind money by finishing the same levels again and again, and after investing you earned money, you just hit a mine in the first move.

The game itself is great. Too bad it crahses every time I play it, which forces me to restart my computer.

Good game but you can hit a bomb on the first tile you open. Makes grinding a bit more frustrating.

I love minesweeper but this game is som kind of joke. It looks like students mid term project. You have to grind every time you want to play middle or hard diff, and when you finally have enough money you can die in just first click... and hard can get maps with 7 not connected areas so your chances are next to nothing. If you sill want to buy it just remember that below 2h you can return game.

This game is not that great, it is missing two critical things from the original minesweeper (the fact that you never explode on the first turn of minesweeper and that you can actually calculate where the mines are from the adjacent squares.) This just relies on blind luck most of the time. And the helper isn't helping much. Although I did enjoy the unusual field shapes.

I thought this game had potential going in but then I broke the world speed record for losing interest. The flaws in this game became apparent during the first grind up to medium difficulty and then hitting a bomb on the first click. Easy difficulty only exists to grind money and medium/hard are virtually unplayable. There needs to be some sort of initial reveal, lifeline, or first click forgiveness in order to make medium and hard worth the grind.

Not bad. Just another minesweeper game. The music is pretty relaxing but after a while it starts to get repetitive. Can get really frustrating as well as about 30% of the games I played ended up being the first click mine. 6/10

I did it for the achievements!
