The game is enjoyable, but the practices with the DLC are utter garbage. At first glance, one would think that the tiered bundles just build upon each other until the Diamond Bundle, which would include (most) everything. Instead, each bundle contains different DLC with a little overlap. Even the most expensive bundle does NOT include all the maps. Played through family sharing via my brother's account, then went to buy it and the DLCs myself when on sale, only to find half the content is missing from the highest tier bundle after attempting to order an ATV (which I had been able to do before, probably due to whatever pack my brother had gotten). Requested a refund immediately. I'm all for supporting a dev, but if an $80+ bundle that touts itself as the highest tier doesn't even include half the maps and instead includes a bunch of worthless weapon skins, it comes off as scummy.
TL;DR: Game's fun, but pay close attention to the DLC if you look at the bundles. I should have looked harder. Diamond bundle's a ripoff if you're expecting all content-based add-ons to be included, rather than a bunch of cosmetic wastes of hard drive space.
I have a lot of hours on this game on Playstation and I invested in the PC version as well because I enjoy this game that much. I enjoy it. It's a beautifully designed game and the scenery is well thought out. Also the animals are very fleshed out but once you know the animations you can read them fairly well.
The developers drop a new map or more weapons pretty regularly. I will say there are some bugs to the game that they could pay attention to as well but it has never been game breaking to me.
This game is not for everyone. There are slow times and there are times where you are tripping over animals to shoot. It's worth watching a few videos on beforehand to see if this is your type of game. I suggest "DD 33", Flinter, and "LadyLegendXO". This game is not for everyone, but if this is your jam then this game will give you hundreds of hours of fun.
Hunting done well.
Slow and methodical, lots of variety and plenty of grind to work your way through.
Recommend picking up the base game with a couple of the weapon packs and the ATV at least, just to help get around to spots a bit faster.
Super solid hunting game with fantastic multiplayer. I do have a few issues with some things being overly realistic and then other things like your hunter having a heart attack after running for 3 seconds being unrealistic. I shouldn't have my aim butchered for several seconds after doing a slight jog. Another complaint is how bison often charge at you, but moose don't? I'm no expert on animals, but moose during mating season are brutal. They always run away. Even the males in my experience. Meanwhile every bison is a gigachad. ??? the realism scale in this game is hilarious.
Progression is pretty good with money flow, and seeing how your target died/where you hit them is amazing. Reminds me of Sniper Elite but without bullet cam, which is still gud. I do wish that multiplayer kills would share with all players, regardless if you hit the animal or not. It can become a session of a few players getting all of the hits on animals and some players getting f all (it happened). It's not a skill issue it's just somewhat of a flaw imo. Shared money and xp would be better.
All in all, great value at the current sale. Wouldn't recommend getting it at full price as it isn't the deepest game at all. Playing with friends highly recommended. Playing alone not recommended.
The bugs will gaslight you.
Reloaded into Alaska, started stalking a bull moose, it took 5 shots of polymer .270 over 2-3km of tracking to drop it.
Turns out that the bullets were disappearing in its skin. I (would have) got 1 organ hit, 2 flesh hits, and 2 heart hits (first 2), but they didn't count because there was zero penetration. The game tortured that poor thing, and made me think that I was a lousy shot, when it should've died immediately.
Tried buying 7.62mm after getting "knocked out" by wolves, instead of 50, I ended up with 10. Plenty of weight capacity, nothing left in storage.
Do some testing, guys.
I shot a damn moose at its noggin, tracked it at the edge of earth only to find it still alive and kickin doing mate calls. Yeah pretty unrealistic but still pretty fun.
Its a really good and realistic game.
8,6/10
It gets a bit boring when you dont find a animal to shot,Me and my friends ran for 30 minutes or even more and didn't find a animal to shot.
If you want a good hunting game this is for you!
Sad to say that even after trying so hard to enjoy it, it's just not good.
Sure some people may say the graphics are nice for the times and yea sure from afar or in short short periods of time, but if you look closely at any (and all) maps you will see wild inconsistencies in not only the texture mapping (E.G some parts clipping and leaving holes into sky box, areas splicing over one another creating unsightly garry's mod-esque moments) but also the model placements (E.G grass verges placed off cliff edges, trees clipping out of weird areas or rocks that coincidentally once stepped on have a one-way-ticket to Mars with your name on it).
If graphical issues or turn-offs aren't going to sway your thought then maybe the constant audio bugs causing loss of animal tracking or the grueling Revontulli Coast audio bug where all bird calls come from the opposing side will? Not only are these issues strewn across review sections for the game but also the individual DLCs and still they don't bother fixing em.
It's sad to think the amount of half assed time that must've gone into making these massive sprawling maps with near to no end of exploration ahead considering it doesn't take long to realise how half assed it really must've been. There are times iv'e spent countless hours simply walking without coming across tracks or calls or any sight of life trying to trek parts of apparent DLC maps. I Digress.
Again, sadly I tried to love this game as I have a secret spot for hunting, but this is a let down in every regard.
Its an open world game with lots' of possibilities, keeps you on your toes do ti interactive surroundings and it is based on beautiful locations
Better than expected and super relaxing, it took me like 4 hours to get my first kill but after that the game progression is actually decently quick
moose does not die from getting shot in the chest or the face. so its nice to have to gun down the moose in the middle of the woods to live my dreams of being a real hunter.
there's nothing like tracking a blood trail just to end up dry bc what you thought was a kill shot was absolutely not. i have yet to drop a deer. i've only been going for lung shots bc idk where the heart is. my only complaint is that you have to walk everywhere. you're literally walking for miles in-game. at least they didnt include a stamina bar. overall, its fun game. just expect to grind for your kills.
I've owned this game for a few years. I play it with the guys once in a while and it is fantastic with very little gripe. I know I have problems with the game, mostly that is because I am impatient. However... What the hell is wrong with the gators? How and why can they sense me laying down in the grass, two mounds and 5 thickets away? I can tickle a moose's nuts with this method but gators, for some reason have radar technology.
The game mechanics are aweful,it make no sense I shoot at a deer with two different weapons which are sniper and a shotgun, even though I shoot the animal straight in the head the animal gets the hit and runs away
it's fun but only if you mod it. Don't even bother with multiplayer/online play, cause who the heck plays a hunting game online??? it's hunting, not an mmo. Also, you can shoot endangered and protected species. And there are no bag limits. And you can shoot from a road or near buildings. Bears only eat meat in this game. Wolves willingly and actively surround and hunt you. The turkey crow caller is legit just a normal black bird type crow noise. Blood hounds won;t track animal trails you pin point, rather they only track blood. Basically, this game plays like someone who has maybe gone hunting one time in real life and then never went again. You break SO MANY HUNTING REGULATIONS in this game, and the animals behave in UNREALISTIC WAYS. It's fantasy hunting, not a hunting simulator. Also, state parks don;t allow hunting on their land, and hunting reserves don't allow hikers.
It is a very relaxing game where you set the pace. You can just enjoy nature both, visually and acoustically, or complete missions, or just do your thing. Great concept!
Immersive, engaging and although I've never done anything like this, interesting, informative and fun. A relaxing game. Beautifully crafted and a real quality treat to get in depth with. Very enjoyable.
This game is so badly optimised, it chugs along right from the main menu screen, no need to start the game proper to see that there is a problem. I have run many other games and not experienced any video stutter whatsoever. If you have a good rig give it a go, you can always refund if it runs like an overfed moose in heavy mud.
The game is just not fun. Apparently, it's not even a "game," according to some -- it's just like real life! The hours spent, the money spent (both in game and on DLC), wandering for hours possibly getting nothing out of it, it's just like hunting! Well, except for the not getting any real exercise and not getting any actual fresh air.
If you have a week to kill and don't fall asleep watching pictures move very slowly in front of you, or not at all, and you really look forward to the tedium and time-wasting of hunting, and yet for some reason the idea of actually going to the actual woods and getting actual fresh and an exercise just doesn't appeal to you, then you will probably like this "game" a lot. It gives you all the frustration and wasted effort of hunting, without anything to actually show for it.
Some insist you just have to understand that it's not "just a game," it's a simulation, and that means, it's got all the downsides of the real thing with zero of the upsides. Well, shut up and take my money, pal!
Seriously. Find literally anything else to do with your time. The time you waste in this game will not give you any enjoyment, which should be the bare minimum for a video game, but apparently that's not a thing anymore.
Awesome Simulator and I am loving every minute of it. Great for playing with your friends online and just loads of fun!
try the layton lake map, if you like it, get all the DLCs, you're gonna be here for a looooooooong time
Love open world experience of hunting. I hunt in real life and its the closest thing to the real deal!!!
The best hunting sim game that is out there. Graphics are as realistic as it gets. BIG SHOUT OUT TO THE MAKERS OF THIS GAME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
i like the hunter call of the wild because its packed full of adventure and i have had the game for a couple of years now and I am still havent finished it and they came out with another weapon weapon pack and if you dont know what a weapon pack is than look it up and then you will now what it is. and they also came out with another game reserve and if you dont know what that is than do the same thing that i told you to do with the weapon pack. so i highly recomend it i for every one.
So far I haven't even been able to play this game with more than 40fps but even without using my good pc this is amazing, relaxing, semi realistic and possibly the best hunting game. although i'm not very good...
AT THE MOMENT I CAN NOT PLAY THE GAME, COTW _F HAS STOPPED WORKING...
I CAN PLAY THE SAME GAME ON XBOX AND NO PROBLEM AT ALL. AND THERE
ARE A LOT OF PLAYERS WITH THE SAME PROBLEM HAS MY SELF...
Kinda confusing when first starting out but playing and watching YouTube vids gets you going very quickly and it all starts working Awesome!
yes even though it is a little bit more like a call of duty game in a hunting scenario realism is not a key feature but what should you expect from a game
perfect blend of realism and an actual palpable video game. recommend this game to anyone.
sometimes the animals be buggin.
A hiking simulator in some of the most beautiful settings on Earth, where you can occasionally shoot wild animals. A fantastic game if you are looking for something more deliberate and slow paced.
Incredibly rewarding and beautifully zen. Something I will likely always come back to from time to time.
gooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooood
Dobra je igra, samo imam jednu manu. Slabo zivotinja ima, nije kao pre sto je bila.Sad mi je bas tesko i odraditi neke misije.Kao sto su kojoti
Im hunter from Renko, Finland. My grandpa Pentti was a famous in hameenlinna finland in hunting for many decades. And you wanna know how many trophys hes got huh? HAHA well, more than your game allows you to get. PAL! BOOM! that was a inside joke then :) anyways very very good game :))
Great game, walking around finding animals, shooting, spotting, even getting involved in danger is here.
very fun and realistic hunting game. Even for someone who does not enjoy hunting IRL this is an entertaining game with loads of content available in the base game, as well as DLCs
It's such a good game that i recommend it to hunters in real life.
the graphic's are like a rtx 3090
theHunter has a lot of problems in terms of monetization, but I won't let that get in the way of that fact I had a genuinely good time playing it.
If you're:
1) burnt out from other video games
2) looking to try something new
3) a fan of other hunting titles
OR
4) looking for something much more relaxing/long form
I'd recommend this game. You won't learn much about hunting, but it'll give you a good snapshot into that world if you're stuck somewhere hunting IRL isn't feasible.
It is supposed to be a hunting game, but I am strolling on a map virtually devoid of animal life. Yes, I know about the importance of stealth (visibility and noises) and scents, I am lvl 30 already - I am talking about the Vurhonga Plateau (of an African safari-like) map, which is a DLC you have to pay for separately: and behold, more like a desert than a savannah. I've seen 1 springbok and heard the voice of 1 jackal for a full day, thats all. No good.
Relaxing and different than the FPS genre - the game you pick up when life itself is action packed and you just want to unwind.
Game is fun. Some complain that it's too arcade-like with the number of animals it spawns, but that's what makes it fun to play.
Played 419 hours so far and this game is my 5th most played game. This game also happens to be one of the few games I keep coming back to experience the new DLC.
holy man GET THIS GAME!!! when you drop a moose your heat rate SPIKES! it is so fun to track an animal for HOURS and finaly taking the final shot to drop the animal. if you get the savna and the tiaga as extra maps and the atvs with the moddern rifle pack wich has a 308. (great for moose and deer) a 223. and a 22 lr wich are all free along with the atvs
Amazing game very easy to learn and looks beautiful. But! i wish it showed the weight of the animal once you put it in your trophy lodge. I had caught my biggest grizzly so far but there's no way to tell which one is which.
best hunting game i have ever come across but i would add 1 thing to the game which is be able to swim but don't get me wrong it is a very good hunting game very realistic
I love turning rabbits into red mist with my Rangemaster 338. 10/10 Game is worth the money and so are the DLC's.
1400 hours in. Love this game. Steep learning curve at first. It has its bugs too but you wont notice them until you are hundreds of hours in. Devs are always working on it...slowly.
So having played for a good few hours now i will write a review. Firstly I have to comment on how good the maps look. I'm using a 12900KF and a 3090TI and play at 4k resolution in wide format, it looks stunning, down to individual grass stems and tree leaves etc. I'm finding it nice just to walk around with the dog.
I'm still having some issue with trying to work out just how close i can get before spooking the animals but I can handle that.
I cant really find fault in the game. I don't like the fact that if I shoot an animal and wound it, but then am unable to find it I do get a bit of a guilty feeling but, the good thing is that it is just a game, I'm not actually harming a real animal.
So far I have only played two maps and they were both stunning. Because of that i bought all of the DLC during the sale so think I got a bargain. Recently it's been my goto game as its both relaxing and exciting and there is that feeling of triumph if you score a clean shot and bag the animal on the spot.
I Have experienced a couple of crashes which is annoying and don't know if it the game having the odd issue here and there.
Would I recommend it?, yes certainly. If you want a game that looks absolutely stunning then get it. Heck even if you don't want to shoot anything you could just go for a nice walk.
Overall I have to say there isnt a negative I was going to whine and say it takes too log to find an animal, but i have found if I stick to the paths they do show up and the you can go off on a wander tracking them. I love the dog, he does silly runs when he gets excited which is a nice touch and had realistic dog sound.
On how it looks I have to give it a 10
game play 10 again, its realistic
I do wish if I take a seagull out that it would register points for hitting a moving target so small.
Buy it and try it you get two hours to test it anyway. I think that would be more than enough to sway anyone as i am sure you'll like it if you appreciate the work that's been done to make it look so pretty on the eyes.
Caveats: Ive played for about 5 hours now on one reserve with no DLC.
So, I dont exactly know why I bought this game initially. I was bored with Tarkov, Star Citizen, Bannerlord, Rimworld, Civ5/6...basically everything that Ive dumped time into in the last year or so. I got so sick of super action packed games that I just...wanted a break. Gaming was starting to get stressful.
Enter theHunter Call of the Wild (COTW for short). I threw it on my wishlist a while ago because it got a lot of "oooh, pretty" comments. In my boredom while doom-scrolling the store up pops COTW.
I think to myself, self...why not?
After about 30 minutes of tromping thru the woods I realized I loved this game. ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ is it ever cozy feeling. Not getting shot at, no real loss if you mess up, everything in the game just kinda works. Then again, theres also excitement if you choose to seek it. Having a pack of boars jump out of a treeline next to you and bolt across the field as you knock two down with you shotgun is exhilirating. Finally catching that trophy-grade deer with a massive set of antlers when you can ACTUALLY make the shot on him is tense...cause you know your only getting one shot.
But outside those moments its simply a walking simulator with absolutely drop-dead gorgeous scenery, fairly realistic forest sounds, and calming music.
Mechanically the game seems well put together. Animal tracking and luring works relatively well provided you use the right lures and manage your noise level. The whole rest/eat/drink cycle for animals helps with being able to predict where you can actually find them when you need to. The missions all seem simple enough so far too and basically are there to teach gameplay mechanics (ok, im not THAT far on them. Hey...5 hours in, right?).
So overall, I was really happy with my purchase. For $20 its good gameplay value (I consider
It's 20:30 in game time.
The night fills the sky.
I haven't moved from my hunting structure for 20 minutes.
The crickets are the only thing keeping me sane.
I keep blowing through my "Distressed Fawn" caller.
All of a sudden to my left I hear some bushes rustle.
A black bear casually walks out, looking for easy prey.
I pull out my Rangemaster 338 loaded with a single .338 Polymer-Tip Round.
I look at the beast through my scope, 30m away.
The bear looks dead at me with those big ol' eyes for a solid second.
"I know what I have do but I don't know if I have the strength to do it".
*I remember The Revenant bear attack scene*
I pull the trigger and put one right between the eyes.
Instantly drops, no pain.
I immediately climb down and claim my prize.
10/10 would search for bear poop again. (Yes, that's an actual quest).
Best hunting game out there! Would highly recommend to everyone! Developers are constantly making this game better and introducing new content. This is probably my favorite game ever!
The game has a very fun concept and I was drawn to it by its high positive review rate, however 90% of the content looks like its behind a paywall. Base game is not fun enough to justify the price, and having most of the content behind seperate paywalls is disgusting. Let this genre of game die.
10/10 would recommend. Peaceful and calming game to play alone. Also fun with friends. There are a few things that need to be polished and merged into the base game like bloodhounds and other reserves and ATVs but overall, good game.
If your looking for a casual fun hunting game this is the game for you.
Really calming game to play if you have a lot of stress and its pretty hard to get mad at this game as well, I've played a couple hundred hours on console with the DLC's and all of the new reserves that kept coming out were super fun to check out and the game would always get updates.
Good game if you are interested in hunting.
Love this game, the realism is pretty nice. Some things are over powered both player and surroundings. Overall Amazing hunting game would absolutely give it a shot!
This is one of the best games there is, and if you love to hunt this is the game for you.
This game could end your life.
If you want to be a master of this game collecting the rarest animals rarest furs all over your lodge.
8hrs per day on this game won't be enough.
The average play time of a master is over 2000hrs played. 4000hrs probably now.
I have over 100.000 harvests. Around 600 diamonds. Almost every Albino I've targeted inc LYNX from Medved lol. That was an incredible day. Lv7 too.
I started Jan 2019 and I truly truly wish I never found this game. I got too addicted I truly believe they designed this game to be a life eater. Oh boy did it end my life too. I have nothing anymore just a phat stacked bunch of cotw lodges.
By the end of 2yrs addicted my Facebook addicted partner found love elsewhere I was finally free to play all day if I want. No more woman moaning at me. No more noisy kids annoying my chat party.
Just me on my own with all the hours and suddenly only then. Did I break my addiction.
I have no idea at all how I put so many hours into this game i can't even play for one hour now. Its so Boring.
I truly wish I never touched this game and now I have a strict rule for gaming.
No grind games at all. Keep your grind. Game devs are nasty people doing what they do knowing what they are doing too.
Mostly it's the devs who spam loot boxes etc but these grind like it's a day job devs are just as bad.
We truly do not need games we can live on.
So I just downloaded age of empires 3 lol. That's a good olde grind game though. Pick up and play. Feel like you winning immediately lol.
Not 5hrs into session and still not even one diamond harvest yet. So you keep playing until you get something.
I've still managed to rack up 529hrs on PC Cotw. 2.5hrs in the last two weeks.
I think I'm done with this game. But I'm still at the point of mayb I'll play it today. But don't or I quit within the hour.
Shame on EW they the worst team I've come across they took a great game and made it suck. The last 2yrs updates for cotw just broke it. More and more.
They just made a fishing game now and it's horrendous yet again EW release an empty map game you'll need 33 DLCs before it feels like a map.
Yet people wanted fishing DLC in COTW not a new game. More bs thinking from EW. There's so much of it too.
EW anal bs ruins cotw no elephants thats wrong. Not OK here's elephant's to hunt 50% of the profits for this DLC goes to protecting elephants that's too smart for EW.
WOW!! I bought this game and man was it worth it.as you can see i have put many hours into this game and for new players it can seem boring and repetitive but if you can get through that it is top 3 all time.PS there is a a fishing game too.
Dear CoTW,
1. Storage is very difficult to look through. This is an spreadsheet at it's basic version. I shouldn't have to scroll through every rifle to get to pistol. so on and so forth.
2. GPS is amazing and gives the ability to add more than one point.
3. Though it adds some challenge, riding the ATV in first person is very challenging. change or don't I will overcome.
4. Thank you and i will edit as i go
7. You have beat others. Please don't ever make it easy. Real men want a challenge.
8. how do I show pictures of the issues i want to show?
Growing up playing many different hunting games, this one has been the best so far. The graphics are about spot on, the dynamics of the game are incredibly accurate. The weapon selection cannot be beat. Overall Amazing game and cannot wait to see what the future holds for it.
I'm a hunter and love the outdoors!! This game has it all!
Personally, One of the BEST if not already the best hunting games in all of video game history, it's an absolute steal for its price and I can't stop playing it.
very fun But i would recomend looking on youtube for guides
Good Hunting
Still looking for the Great one
As a hunter myself this is a great game. Biggest complaint is that it does become somewhat predictable once you know the drinking times and need zones. I therefore strongly recommend that you dont go to youtube to find the best spots but try to find them yourself. Also rotate maps often to have those surprise moments.
This game sucks donkeys whole. The community climbs up and into your urethra if you aren't careful about how you word your complaints on their official discord, they all smell like crusty moldy cheese, and the game is boring as fuck man all you do is set up a bajillion tents on your map and go from tent to tent nonstop resetting the time each day while you endlessly slaughter the same animals over and over and over. This game is for brainless fuckwits that wouldn't mind cleaning a wall nonstop no matter how clean it is every day for 8 hours at the rate of 12 dollars an hour.
great game once you hit level 20
Very happy with this Sim. I have searched for years for a realistic hunting sim that wasn't arcade style play. Very realistic way to pass a rainy day when you cant be in the woods in person! If you are looking for a realistic hunting sim you wont go won't with the Hunter Call of the wild!
The accuracy to real life is quite suprising in this game!
Realism like you've never seen before
Excellent game but not for low-end PCs probably
I was hunting up north in the snowy tundra big moose world record moose walks acroos 500 yards away i shoot and miss and cry myself to sleep
Best hunting game out there. Bit like old school Cabelas
Дуже атмосферна і розслабляюча гра
MOST EPIC GAME I EVER PLAYED. 100 HOURS AND LOTS MORE TO COME.
great game. very chill and relaxing. hunting and killing the animals feels great too.
very fun and chalenging at the sme time definitly would recommend
it is a very fun game if u like to hunt and see beautiful views
It got it's hook in deep and they are not letting go! 9/10. Super fun time. I'll be grinding for Diamond hunts to fill my lodge for the rest of my life xD
really fun if you like hunting
very fun game i like hunting so i hunt a lot
Scenic and so beautiful, so relaxing with huge maps to explore and hunt on, what more could you want. Just the virtual world for those like me, who can't hunt or visit and experience these locations all over the world for real. All we need is some fishing to complete the experience. Its a game I keep coming back to and shall continue to do so. Nothing is perfect of course, just as real life but this comes close in my opinion.
Very good graphics and easy to master the mechanics 9/10. I love it
This game is a great game for playing alone or with friends. The only bad thing about this game is that it isn't cross platform.
Best hunting game ive played. It has some good mechanics and even a skill tree to upgrade your hunting skills. Several maps are available to hunt in and all the maps are pretty huge
i usually play escape from tarkov or similar games but this game is a very nice game to chill on with my friends and have some passive fun
I got a quad feed on some deer
Best poaching simulator game out there
10/10 for downing the same number of bison in less than a minute, just like my ancestors used to do
i really recommend this game who like shooting and tracking, you ban buy guns, scopes, ammo, and much more. You can also buy DLC. For begginers i recommend to buy DLC, when you get the DLC the guns are free in game. I really like it this game. Another tips is to shot in lungs, heart and neck. Hope this helps and dont wait buy it and Hunt!
This game feels and looks great. I played this game on Xbox and had 300 plus hours and now on pc and have 285. it's a great game. there's a bit of bug but still fine. the best hunting game out there I 100% recommend getting this game. getting a big male is the best feeling.
by far the best hunting game ever
Very relaxing in single player and a lot of fun with friends in MP.
This game is addictive! The lure of the hunt!
if ur a wigger that wants to be a little special this game is for you! you will spend hours on one fucking animal and it will make you want to slam ur balls in a waffle iron and scream slurs but the second u find the anger is slightly gone until the next hunt
Spent two hours downloading only to spend 12 minutes staring at the loading screen watching the bear turn into a wolf and vise versa before I eventually gave up and realized this was all a waste of time. Granted I have a laptop but it is above the min specs listed and I would have appreciated the opportunity to actually play the game
Its damn fun even tho I suck at aiming you might start off hard but It will get better I recommend to play with friends it will help with a lot of things
It has many areas to explore and very beginner friendly. The graphics are amazing and controls are good. Slow and easy gameplay.
Before playing theHunter: Call of the Wild, I didn't know where every other mammals vital organs were located within their body (Birds too). I didn't know what the fecal matter of every other mammal (Birds too) looked like laying in grass, and its freshness. I had no idea what fucked up noises deer make, it's kinda scary... but makes them easier to shoot in the end because no living thing should make a noise like that. I now shoot and eat every animal I see because it's fun, gives me energy, and it's a great way to stay in shape.
It's a very relaxing hunting game. Recommend a good PC rig to get the best out of the beautiful graphics.
cape buffalo is my lord and savior
Great game. I am at 200 hours and have only had a handful of bugs. I see others complaining a lot about bugs but I just do not see it. There is a lot of DLC, but DLC is not expensive and it is definitely worth paying 8 dollars for a new map. You have to be patient with the game. You can't play this like CoD nor should you expect it to be like hunting in RDR. It took me several times of playing the game and then dropping it for months before I finally learned to accept this. Move quietly, take your time, and aim for vital organs. It is slow paced and that is a good thing.
Each map has a "story." They are usually lightly complex fetch quests or "shoot this animal in a certain way." I like the missions because they can easily be ignored and do not take themselves too seriously. They also give out good rewards if you do decided to complete them.
Best thing about the game for me is that I am able to go to a hunting stand, and wait for the action to come to me. I have to read a lot for school so I will go to a stand, and then read while waiting for an animal to appear. Very peaceful except for the times I am shooting a deer at close-range with a shotgun.
10/10 wish I would have gotten into it sooner.
Preliminary review at 13h. I was looking for an open-world game that is relaxing and reasonably realistic (it could be much more tedious and I'd like it). YouTube is useful to understand the mechanics and avoid getting frustrated. Following the story provides structure, which is good. The European map is absolutely beautiful (I have not tried the N-America map yet). Highly recommend the ATV DLC, and the tent/cache one too.
Simply put, this is the best hunting game on the market. There may be some little elements that are better in other titles, but the scale and variety is second to none. Every session feels like an actual hunting trip where you can spend multiple days exploring and tracking your prey. And when it comes to the visuals, photography is probably half of my time in-game. I will always advocate for more customization and weapon options, but there's a good enough amount of both in this game. Gameplay feels very satisfying. If you take your time to learn and use the various systems to your advantage, you can get some awesome kills. And even if you botch your approach and have to track a blood trail for miles, the feeling of finding that trophy is worth the extra effort. For those who want to play with friends, the multiplayer aspect is fun and makes you feel a little less alone. Great solo game, great multiplayer game.
love this game its easy and relly good for a good time
good game very very hard at times but very fun
Fun game especially with friends.
Its my top game its so fun to play with friend and my houndog and his name is buck.
A perfect game for you who loves a chill game with a little bit of grinding
The detail in the maps and the variety of the areas to hunt are realy amazing
absolutely 100 percent amazing, best game I've ever played.
Sure theres plenty of great guns! too bad youll never get to use them. Theres tons of animals out in the world! too bad if you get within 30 miles of them they run and take every other animal with them! hey maybe you got lucky and saw something. now that youve shot it, you wont see another animal until the end of time. Dont use my 6 hours of playtime against me, as with another steam account and an xbox account, my hours are over 150. and id say 95% of it is sitting in a bush or a hunting stand using a caller and seeing nothing. Only get this game if youre fine with mind numbing boredom.
needs a Bigfoot in the Mississippi map
Enjoyable. sometimes buggy. but enjoyable
My family of 3 now all play this and it has become very easily one of the best ways for us to bond about a game we all love! It is really easy to get sucked into playing for hours but it is always so worth it.
Definitely an enjoyable game!
I love this game....its the greatest hunting game that ive ever played to date, and ive been playing this game for a looooong time. Also looking forward to the release of their newest call of the wild game "the angler"......The only downfall im seeing on the game thats bothering me now, is their sale prices through the DLC Store. Many of the maps are on sale up to 60% off but when you click on them for purchase and it routes you to steam, they're showing up as the original non sale price without the discounts applied. If you add them to the cart, they stay the same price without being discounted. Am I missing something? Or is this a fake advertisement??
Trouble falling asleep? Then this game is for you! Zzz..

The game used to be great, but now has become almost unplayable due to bugs. Yeah you can close the game and re open it and fix the huntermate, but it goes back to buggy within a half hour.
Its a great game that has a lot to offer, the graphics are unreal and the level of detail is amazing .. However with most games it does have it flaws due to mostly crashes while playing a server and encountering hackers on more than one occassion.. But overall a neat hunting game
if you love hunting and have the time, this is a fun game.
its a good hunting game thats realistic
Great low key game that is fun in multi player as well.
I bought a brand new high-end PC just to play this in Ultra-High settings... This game is beautiful.
Scenery
Realism
Story lines
Thrill
Peaceful
If you are only into FPS Shooters then this game isn't for you but let me tell you my friends that I've been hooked on hunting and I've never played games like this before.
Very fun but must have patience.
So i have been playing for about 2 mouths and i have a friend who has been playing for 2 year so we would recommend this game.
its great
i wish lodges were free
Great game overall, like any game some bugs here and there. I believe the predatory animals could use some work as well as spook levels intensified on some animals such as Bison, Turkey and Feral Hogs.
it is a fun hunting game and the most relstic out there
Don't expect an action packed shooter.
If you like a relaxing and calm time with some concentration and tension sprinkled in, this game is for you.
Waiting / Tracking a target down, waiting for the perfect moment and dropping it with an accurate shot to the heart is very satisfying.
Also: Best DLC Content I've seen so far. DLCs done right.
very fun and has a lot to offer
fun game takes patientce and time but is overall the best game i have ever played
Its a great game but definitely recommend getting a few DLCs for it. Makes it so much more fun being able to hunt different animals and use different equipment when hunting.
Fun and addicting game, a lot of content and stuff to achieve.
Very great game! highly recommend if you are a fan of hunting!
i 100% the hunter on ps4 and i hunt in real life the pc version seems harder and i think its because this version has less wildlife to harvest. why that is i dont know but doing missions for achievments takes forever with no population. its frustrating getting two animals in hours of real time i dont get it. its got great graphics because its on pc but its like a different game.
not much of a hunting game guy, mainly just came here for the realistic firearms.
well built, nice graphics, and smooth performance, my only real complaint is the fact that I have to delete half of my steam library before I can download this
i love this game sadly my friends don t buy any games because they have a social life and i have to play all games alone but if u like this game and want someone to play with add me .
So about the game
69 % of your time you spend walking around the forest,
blowing in the animal whistle without actually seeing any animals
10 % of your time you spend carefully approaching the animals you have spotted in the far far away distance
1 % of your time you spend aiming, fireing your gun and missing all the significant organs of the animals
The last 20 % of your time you spend running after the animals you have wounded without ever seeing them again
Stayed still for 9 hours trying to bow hunt for red foxes. Didn't kill one
you will get impatient just remember when you do, don't run at a bear
-someone who ran at a bear
I once shot a moose 18 times with the .270 rifle before it died.
I grab gun, I see deer, I miss, I recommend
Most realistic hunting experience ever
A very good game. Good quailty good graphics. PERFECT GAME TO PASS THE TIME..
Hoping I can have the all bundle for FREE. I just bought the two RIFFLE PACKAGE. And IM BROKE ASF. HAHA
Completely thought it was dumb after purchase. Once you figure out the mechanics...its awesome. If you're big into hunting, like I am, then this game will be for you. THIS IS NOT YOUR TYPICAL HUNTING GAME YOU MAY HAVE PLAYED WHILE GROWING UP.
waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa
It was a life changing expierence. After i played this the bank gave me my house back my wife and some of my kids came back.
game is very relaxing and dope
Very chill. Much calm. Super relax.
A fun hunting game that scratches the real world itch if you can't make it outdoors to hunt.
Really well done. Enjoy the side missions and all the different areas.
I am a hunter in the past, due to my living location currently I'm unable to hunt any longer, my son found this game and I really loved it, it really feels like real hunting, it emulate a real hunting environment and condition, just like real hunting, lots of challenges, frustrations and excitements.
it has beautiful graphics but its kinda boring for me, i have been tracking Moose for 30mins then i turned off the game xd
dont buy. gets boring after a while
its boooooooooooooring. i bought it on sale but it doesnt worth even on sale.
see moose and shoot it for like 2 or 3 times and the moose is still alive and u have to track it for like 10-20 min to find it died or maybe alive and shoot again and repeat again. (in addition u might get attack by wolves)
Beautiful claiming game, super fun, skill trees, fun dlcs, and many unique amazing animals to hunt and find! Would recommend to those out there and friends :)
aim for the neck it paralyzes them
Awesome game, works well without dlc's too. Really love it.
its nice but i recomand u geting it when it a offer
great game with great gameplay looking forward to new updates
Best Hunting game ever 100% recommend it so much
love the game, best hunting game in the market right now.
Everyone has that one game where they sink hundreds or thousands of hours into. This will easily become my 1k hour game. Loving it so far!
So far the best hunting game out there! There is so much to do and hunt, I rarely get bored with this game.
Beautiful landscapes and breathtaking scenery, theHunter Call of the Wild is an amazing game with a great hunting experience. The map is big and there's a lot of content to go along with it, from story to randomly hunting around the map and leveling up your weapons, getting money for new weapons and customising your outfit. This game is amazing, I definitely recommend
You don't need to be a hunting legend to just have some simple fun with the game. It's gorgeous and the soundscape is great. My -only- complaint is the amount of leveling up you have to do to gain access to some of the rifles and the lack of a true way to zero in detail with scopes in order to hit long shots consistently.
Amazing. Even better with friends
this game at the begining is boring but after you play more become interesting and the best part that i like when are a lot animals that you can hunt
one thing i have noticed is that you only get 2 areas with a couple of animals to hunt, then you have to pay around 7 to 8 dollars for a new area with only a few new animals. not only is this scummy marketing, but it is a quick way to lose players. there are other games that do this better. for example, there is a free game called fishing planet, that manages this problem with licenses, which should really be a thing in a hunting game, and a premium service, with a premium currency. what they do is they have temporary licenses you buy with in game money, but you can pay real money for the premium currency to get an unlimited license, which gives you a good reason to buy things in the game. but to increase player satisfaction and playability, you can also get the currency by leveling up or completing challenges. this is a great model for new areas in games and premium services. please do not become the next ea. it is not a good look. instead, open up areas, but make it require in game money, or allow the players to use real money for a permanent pass, and i can garuntee you will have a lot more players. other than that, and the loading screen freeze, it is a pretty good game.
Are there bugs? Yes but the dev team is always working towards resolutions.
3 HOURS IN SO FAR , SO FAR SO GOOD ITS ENJOYABLE. THOUGH SURPRISINGLY REALISTIC .
this is a game thats damn near spot on to real hunting you have to learn to shoot, type of bullets matter, scopes matter, guns matter sit around and wait or hoof it across some of the most beautiful in game graphics
overall i think great game though its a game youll need to spend hours in to really immerse your self in , expect to be playing this game for ages before you get anywhere then again huntings not about running after your prey its about sitting around waiting for that perfect shot which is super cool as they also give you a shot review and rating per each kill.
happy hunting
Beautiful game! i love the detail and being a big game hunter you couldn't really get a much more accurate without making it boring lol great games guys thank you! also very nice i can play offline while living in remote places in Alaska! actually going to be playing in a wall tent on the stormy days.
No doubt the best hunting game i've ever played.
Feels like I'm out in the woods. Feels like I'm actually hunting. Runs absolutely great on Linux!
watched youtube vids on it, thought it was cool, not worth it, very boring, no animals, walking simulator
best hunting game imo, lots of stuff to do and it is updated frequently so it is well worth the price 9/10 would recommend
It's boring but I can't stop playing.
i liked the almost to real tracking and the behavior of the animals the weapons look great and all in all no complaints except i wish there were more animals closer :p
Monster Hunter: Call of the Grind
Beautiful views, shooting some wildlife with some mates. Quite casual, grab a beer while you're at it. Thoroughly enjoyed even though some in game menus aren't up to snuff.
Beautiful game...probably best hunting game ever ,but multiplayer its really bad.
I was virtually mauled by a virtual bear. The fear is real, virtually
Very slow, long hours of waiting stalking and well, hunting. This game is everything it is claimed to be, and the difficulty is well designed. The maps are huge, with lots of exploring to do.
cool game. has its bugs but generally the best hunting game out there.
fucking beauty of a game only problem is the ammount of dlcs like holy shit did paradox make this ?
are you tired of the pressure of multiplayer PvP games? tired of teammates stressing you?
You wanna get drowned in some relaxing environment and atmosphere which you can also play Co op with friends?
then this is your game to get
its beatiful fun and i got ultimate so i have africa and stuff but even with base game you can play these on multiplayer tons of fn and live out all your hunting fantasies wether it be heart shotting a grizzly from a ridge in medved or taking down the king of the jungle with a friggin elephant rifle
the game is amazing and has been until recently my game continuously crashes i have done everything i can possibly think of to fix even wiped my hardrive and re installed everything still crashes no corrupted files nothing im getting tired of it fast i just want to play the game with out issues i put all this money into this game to enjoy it not have it crash over and over and over and over fix your game!!!!!!!!!
Shot bambi's mother 5 times in the anus, felt really good after that.
amazing game play if u like hunting, it kinda sucks how most DLC cost money but its good.
-Spot lion
-Lion spots me
-Lion attacks
-Shoot lion
-Lion dies
-"haha L"
This game is definetly worth buying except how lots of reserves and weapons are dlc which is kinda unfair
i would add more weapons and reserves for the people that play without dlcs
but other than that this game is a pretty good game
i would definetly recommend it!
very gamer i enjoy shoot and sometimes kill tiny animal with big gun because
just being able to go for shoot with no stress - perfect
What this game need now is an Australian map with emus.
They should also add a ute with a lewis gun in the back while they are at it.
Nice Game you need to have patience
It's fun, but be prepared to buy some DLC if you want to enjoy the game fully. Wait for a sale to do so, they usually drop to around 2$CAD.
Best hunting game on the market. No contest.
Aiming downside with my hunting rifer with tone of the most exquisite scenery you can ever be in.
-I see a deer
-Me: "DIE"
Medžioklės sezonas atidarytas;)
great game but holy sh it it crashes so often i have never had a game crash so much fix ur broken a ss game re tard devs
love this game it did everything right that hunting simulator didnt
Te awaroa lake in the middle of the upper map second lake down 4 diamond red deer and 1 melanistic level 6 super good lake
Friend: Is there Jumpscares in the Game?
Me: No there's not it's a Hunting Game my Guy.
Fox: I am about to end this Mans whole Career.
This is definitely one of the most immersive games I've ever played. The landscape is breathtakingly beautiful, and the challenge of learning how to hunt is deeply satisfying. I had a moose come right up next to me when I was hiding in a bush, which was surreal and thrilling. I tried to shoot him, but he ran off. I used my bloodhound to help me track him. Found the moose, tried to kill him again but he attacked me. Now I need to figure out which type of rifle to use to kill moose. I know absolutely nothing about guns or hunting (I'm a vegetarian lol) but am having a blast with this game! I can see myself playing for hundreds of hours. Even without the hunting, I would buy this game just to ride around in an ATV. It is so much fun!
Sees rabbit
Pulls out the 470 nitro express
The best hunting game out there.
Great game. Scenic, immersive, and very exciting. Would recommend to anyone thinking about buying it.
This game is very cool. It will seem difficult at first but once you learn about when animals drink you can go to the pond at the right time of day to easily find animals to hunt. Just wandering around the woods is very hit or miss. It can be slow but the shots you take feel very rewarding.
good game needs skinwalker dlc
This is literally the best hunting game I have ever played. It is my #1 chill game to just enjoy the scenery and hunt through various landscapes and a variety of game. It's got a realistic feel but not too difficult to be annoying. You can "run and gun" of you're just in a shooting mood, or you can take your time and stalk prey you can put on your hunting lodge walls and trophy pedestals. It's fun solo or with friends, an all-round great game.
I liked the asthetic of this game, but wasn't a fan of the tracking system. Also the performance was pretty bad.
