Walking simulator that I can't fully describe without spoilers. The only thing I can safely say is that it make you think about things that are becoming more and more real in the modern world. Worth its 10 euros. And if you like games about walking and thinking about some complex topics - definetely try this one.

A tightly put together and well-defined, mostly polished experience (though there were a few non-breaking bugs as I played through in VR). For a game that was initially desktop-only, the VR experience was well put together and should serve as a baseline for other VR games: detailed textures, good sense of presence, straightforward interaction model, and a good variety of locomotion options. One nice touch as you launch the game in VR: a height reference so players can adjust their height in VR to match what the game expects! Loading was smooth, and the volumetric graphics (smoke, lights) looked great. Audio was suitably spatial.

The story itself is solid, and not as predictable as you might think going in. The plot plays out in a constrained space and I found it interesting, with interesting questions asked along the way (you'll know what I mean if you play this... I won't spoil the story).

This game's creator made good use of the limited manpower available to a small team, putting together a constrained, but not claustrophobic, arena in which to tell a good story. There were certainly repeating assets and it was clear much was reused in building this game, but it helps a lot that what little is there is quite good to look at (the textures of fabrics and consistent retro design language in particular). Human character models could have been better; as it stands, they were adequate, and infrequently encountered.

Voice acting was top notch, and the game made good use of spoken interactions to make the place feel much more alive than it would have otherwise.

Overall, I enjoyed my 6 hours or so playing through completely in VR, and can easily recommend this to anyone looking more for unrushed storytelling than deep gameplay (there are puzzles but these are quite simple, though enjoyable enough and well-integrated into the story).

Note to the creator (spoilers ahead): the maintenance elevator transitions are buggy in VR. I can glitch my way through locked maintenance doors (which then traps you inside) by moving my position far enough within the door. The doors also don't open from the inside when you're entering a section from outside the space station and have gone down the ladder shaft leading to a door- one has to reach through the door and grab the disk symbol to unlock, as if doing so from the other side, which is only possible because collision detection is easily bypassed in VR by sticking your head/arms through things without using the controls to move. The doors and collision detection need to be fixed together, or the doors not opening will be story breaking!

played through in VR. story kept me going, it's a straightforward walking simulator with tasks that don't need any real thinking. personally I would have liked some puzzles to overcome. still enjoyable- especially in VR. developer fixed bug i found straightaway- message him in community page if you gt stuck.

Walking sims are few and far between these days, and all of them, which are OK, are definitely worth picking up. This, however is not one of them.

Titan Station starts kind of weirdly, but you soon get to the station and realize that this game is basically a walking sim with elements from two games: Alien Isolation and Firewatch.

The voice acting is horrendous, it could have been much better which would have made the game better. The dialogue system is Firewatch like and you have more than one person to talk to. There's interesting things to pick up, and the environments and history in this "retro-future" game is actually quite good! The graphics are great and reminds me a lot of Alien Isolation, especially with the terminals and keycards.

There are lots of clever plot elements that keep you on your toes. The game makes you believe that it's going a certain direction, but then it takes you by surprise!

The voice acting does become quite awful at the end and really brings down the feel of the game, and there's lots of repetition and a bit of a pointless section. Graphics are good like said, but are constantly being reused - copy/paste style (not even "dirt" or anything, looks exactly the same) which feels very lazy.

The "puzzles" become annoying as well after a while, and one of them bugged out on me which was a minor inconvenience.

I'd say this game would have benefited from having better voice actors (especially for the awful protagonist who absolutely suck) and being around 1 hour shorter.

Replay value is roughly... 0... unfortunately.

For less than €5 on sale it's definitely an OK experience for walking sim enthusiasts, but I can't recommend it because the negatives do outweigh the positives by the end.

NOTE: That this game was developed by one single guy is amazing!

7/10 - Recommend for sci-fi fans but beware of potential technical/performance problems
+ Interesting sci-fi story
+ Really cool 90's feel/design
+ Puzzles are interesting enough
- Sometimes not clear how to reset them and restart (you need to mess up to force a reset)
- I found myself running into performance issues, had to quit to menu and reload save. There was a section of the game where these issues persisted even after reloading the save and restarting the game.

I really enjoyed the atmosphere, story and style of this game. I took a break after the first half hour, but my second play session took me all the way to completion -- it was that compelling.

Production design is heavily inspired by classic SF especially the Nostromo from Alien (1979), but don't worry there are no jump scares here!

I loved the retro touches such as floppy disks and disk caddies -- remember those?.

Puzzles aren't too taxing but that helps the keep the narrative pace up.

Old Jack

A walking sim that tells a fascinating story with a few easy-to-solve puzzles along the way. Visually, the space station is well-realised (inside and out) but very sparsely populated with objects that you can interact with. Music and sound effects are appropriately spooky. Voice acting is hit and miss. I only hit one visual glitch playing with desktop computer and mouse, easily solved by restoring to last save point. Overall, a brilliant effort by Joakim Larsen. Re-playable only for missed achievements or, in my case, a detail of the story I found out about when reading the Discussions page. Worth picking up on sale.

I haven't played but a few minutes. Just bought the game. Saw that the developer added VR with a quickness upon request. Because of that alone I immediately clicked buy! The game runs smooth and looks pretty amazing so far. Considering the short time it took the dev to implement VR the results are excellent. Kudos to you my friend! I wish more game developers would be like you and do what you have done here. I had no problems at all getting the game to run. Has settings to adjust movement and turning and height in all ways possible that I know of. I have all the graphics set to epic and it runs incredibly smooth. I did run into a bug where I dropped a pad and it fell thru the floor and vanished. I think it's where I grabbed it again and then let go right as it hit the floor. I was fiddling with it quite a bit lol. I will update this once I finish the game.

Amazing game. I was totally sucked into the game, that time went by like that. Next thing you know, its 3 hours later and its 3am in the morning..LOL. On a work day...

Just loved the scifi story, graphics, flow... Awesome and beautiful game.

Thanks for a game i'll always remember.

It's funny how I started out thinking "I could totally work a few years on a station like this for some good money" and soon enough the game became so repetitive that I couldn't wait to finish it. BTW portuguese localization has a few grammar errors that made me play it in english... wich also has grammar errors.

But hey, it's still a very impressive job for a single developer game! And an interesting idea to make a space Firewatch look-alike. Don't let the minor bugs put you down, it was worth the time. Maybe the game could be a little shorter?

IntrepidSon

The game style is outdated, but has a very good environment and a likable concept. The play and story line are entertaining, but the game failed me with its repetitious networking task and overuse of a single style puzzle. It was bothersome having to override terminals using the virtual headset and groaned each time the game required it. The story line was at times unnecessarily confusing making it difficult to connect with the characters in any meaningful way. It was fun to explore the station, but there was a section where I became lost while trying to leave and it wasn't obvious that the door I had entered had been locked and now required a key code to exit. Overall, it was fun but not as fun as I had hoped so I don't feel comfortable giving it a recommendation.

Fashy
Fashy

cyberspace puzzles have bad coding, you can't remove blocks and some have multiple pathways and if you mess up you have to reload and start all over again. It could be easily fixed with a little code added to allow adding and removal of blocks maybe with left click and right click to different areas. Considering how boring the game has been thus far and wastes your time doing repetitive tasks it killed my interest in finishing the game.

Titan Station sits somewhere between Deliver Us The Moon and Observation, with some puzzle game elements. Good narrative, well made, a bit of screen tearing here and there but nothing bad enough to ruin the game.

Gamble fon Fabre

A very decent game, especially considering it was done by a single person!

Quite a short one, I enjoyed the atmosphere and the story overall. Even though it welt somewhat rushed at a certain point.

I would recommend this game to space theme enjoyers and fans of strictly story-based games!

Rozgrywka to równo 4h, do przejścia w jeden wieczór. Czy warto? Dla fanów Hard Scfi jak najbardziej, ale za cenie nie więszą niż 30 zł na promocji.

it is clear that the developers loved what they were doing with this game
and its definitely a step in the right direction, The concept for this game is very current to today's world
it have gorgeous graphics and the right use of assets, combined with the soundtrack which part of i recognise from Astro Colony makes the game feel and play very well.

the dialogue can be both amusing and witty - huge credit to the voice actors.
the written material could use a proof reader but it wasn't bad either.

BUT if you are the type of gamer that like closure for games, i would hold off on playing until the devs have done more with the game, the ending leaves me feeling unsatisfied, its too open and without closure to a game i feel like i've not finished it. - i understand the direction you were going for but that part is a solid no from me, but thats just my feeling and everyone is different with that.

all in all - a great game - short and sweet - complete in 3 hours - a good storybase and a well thought up design

Pretty nice. Not very long and not much replayability. It feels like it could have multiple endings and ways through, but it doesn't. It's hiding well, how linear it really is. Could have been more though.
For little money a good well made one time story experience. If the money is little enough for a one off 5 hours, is the question.

Generally it looks good but not amazing and runs well. There is a FOV issue with Ultrawide though. Needs a manual ini edit to fix it, especially to make computer screens not be slightly cut off at the top. Bit annoying. Fov slider should be standard anyway.

Reddie Systeem

Despite being linear in story and exploration it is a quite entertaining game.
The story can be completed in roughly 3 hours.

As far as i could find out there are no secrets, easter egg or alternate endings to speak of wich
was a bit dissapointing.

For being developed by such a small team the visuals, story and storytelling is amazing.

While the contents of the game are certainly nothing new to me, it was fun to try this journey. In the end, I couldn't even feel angry at Jack, or Angela. Veronica is right in that the journey matters... you absolutely should see the sights while on your way. But Jack is also right in that the destination is important - you're going somewhere, and you want to eventually get there. And Angela... did what was right for Angela. Assuming there even was an Angela to begin with. Who knows.

I asked Veronica to come with me and bid Jack farewell. Maybe we'll see each other again... and maybe not. He's got his own journey and destination to see. And as for me...

I'll take the third option.

Recommended. It's fun. Unless you have trouble grappling with the idea of reality - then it just might be confusing to you. ;-)

I think this game deserves more attention than it deserves. I have read some critics' reviews and I have to say that before criticizing this game think that the team that produced this game was incredibly small; yet, somehow, they finalized this game in its good form. I love the vibes it gives me, and how strange it makes me feels. It definitely reminds me of 2001: A Space Odyssey; however, it doesn't even stand close to it because this game explores the topic of AI in a different perspective. In any case, I loved how the developer made the dunes on Titan, and how atmospheric the game felt.

Short but fun walking sim. I picked it up during steam sale. It feels a lot like Firewatch in space. I definitely enjoyed the story and there was a few times it had me questioning what was really going on. Story definitely had one of those "The End?" sort of vibes but was probably one of the better ways you could have ended with allowing the player to just sort of think about what could happen after. Puzzles were simple once you figured them out but were still enjoyable. Sort of a Tron style "In the computer" feel.

As some other reviewers have stated, it actually pains me to say that I can't recommend Titan Station.

There is some really great stuff there - the design and general concept is great, the retro aesthetic, the voice acting.

My issues are all to do with the gameplay and story itself - and obviously, that's the meat and potatoes of a game. Things are simplistic and repetitive - and it happens QUICKLY. Puzzles are all to do with simply clicking on things to gain passwords to unlock computer terminals. That's it. You do this over and over and over - one terminal leads to another. There are a few other puzzle varieties that I won't spoil, but once again, they are simplistic, and repeated frequently.

My biggest gripe comes from the continual "leash yanking" that occurs. There are numerous occasions where you are about to complete a task, and the game (without spoilers) forces you to go back and rewalk the same paths you have already gone down. Slightly different, mind you, but not different enough. Now, this happening one time would be fine, but SEVERAL creates a feeling of annoyance, frustration, and feelings of "what's the point?"

I'm trying to avoid spoilers as much as possible here. But, I actually shut the game off with a gigantic eyeroll after my 2 compatriots and I ended up getting the leash yanked yet again, and found ourselves in quasi-heaven. I wasn't invested enough in the story to bother continuing - I was just irritated, so I shut it off, and instantly uninstalled. I could have been 5 minutes from the end, but I was just so put off, I didn't care.

I hope the developers do some further study on how to keep players engaged for any future titles. I'll pretty much stick with any game until the bitter end as long as I feel the story is engrossing - even if the actually gameplay mechanics are lacking. Feeling like my 4 hours were spent running in a hamster wheel with only the vaguest of reason to do so was just not enough for me.

I enjoyed the game for what it was, once I realized what it was: a walking simulator with very slight (and somewhat tedious) puzzle elements with a good mystery sci-fi story in space. That being said, the game is excessively overpriced in my opinion, because you can see everything the game has to offer in less than 4 hours and there is no replay value, so anything above 10 Euros (or Dollars, whatever) is insulting. So I will recommend the game, but STRONGLY advise you to wait for a deep sale.

SolaceofPeople

Joakim Larsen's "Titan Station" is a representation of the best traits a linear game should possess. Despite being a walking simulator, which is a term many would (sometimes rightfully) find to be a negative, this game succeeds at because of its characteristics.

Dark but with the light of Titan's beautiful acidic rays to gaze by each hallway's set of windows, the level design and overall atmosphere of the game created a combination of dread and awe. Going along with the story, the game excels at creating the primal fear of the unknown; the monsters, the horrifying unfathomable, which makes you question how alone you are on board.

Gameplay was not expansive; only the most basic of controls that do become muscle memory, but the story kept the game enjoyable. Likewise, the puzzles in the game were not challenging, and errors made by your part can be corrected easily, which, like the overall game, lowers the fear factor, since the player's death is, likewise, non-existent when facing challenges.

Another minor critique of the game would be the spelling and grammatical errors found in journal logs and computer terminals, which does take you out of the experience to some degree. The voice acting for each character, however, was decent and held strong emotions.

As a story, a piece of art; in fact, an experience, "Titan Station" is a single player narrative that is best compared to as a mixture between "2001: A Space Odyssey" and "Tron," finding the best themes they represent and exploring those.

I came hoping for something that was a cross between Firewatch and SOMA, and what I got instead was one of my least favorite elements of Fallout 4 (DIMA minigame) crossed with what feels like a remaster of a 90's point and click mystery game (think Myst).

How can I say this? If you like Myst and science fiction settings... grab this. If you like games like Firewatch, or SOMA... skip this, or buy it on sale, and try to go in with low expectations.

Visually quite nice... except that it's excruciatingly repetitive.

Matterhorny

If You like Sci-Fi settings, the plot is quite intriguing.
As the others say - it IS a walking simulator with quite repetitive tasks and environments, not that close to survival horror as You could think the moment You see it first time.
If You are ok with that - wait for a sale and play it for one evening instead of going to the cinema or something.
If not - I would not recommend.

Pretty good for an indie--I'd give this a solid B. I liked the unfolding mystery (even if the plot went a little too convoluted for me in the last third). My playthrough was about three hours (a few times I left the game running while doing other things). Decent voiceover narration, some plot issues. I liked the graphics and environments a lot, although I did wish there was more to do in the locations. Also, I wish there was more choice. The plot moves in a very linear fashion, which could be frustrating.

Spoilers & other random thoughts:
1. Poor Real Jack. We just let him suffocate in the corridor, didn't we? I mean, there was NO sense of urgency there. David literally screams "I'll be right there! Hang on" and then AI Jack tells him to go chill out in his room and David's like, "sure, this would be a great time for a nap, you know, it's not like someone is dying over there and in urgent need of life support."
2. How inconvenient that the "hacked" keycard would only work for the doors you needed to get into for the plot to move along, but not for any of the other doors.
3. So why did the AI kill everybody again? It seems like it was on track to be put in charge of the station anyway. I mean, employees need all that inconvenient food and entertainment, not to mention how expensive it is to lug losers from Earth. It seemed to me that the AIs only needed to wait, and the humans would have all been sent home, with Titan left unmanned (or, manned only by AI robots).
4. I loved the design of the station, but I also thought it would be the kind of thing that would drive real human employees nuts in a short amount of time. As far as I could tell, there was no hydroponics, no recreation area, no common lounge, no kitchen/food, no gym. You'd need a hell of a lot more entertainment and exercise options, if you're going to keep a real crew there.
5. My greatest frustration was the lack of choice. I knew Jack was evil pretty quickly, so I wanted to stop connecting the networks. But I had no choice, I had to keep connecting them until the next plot point was triggered. It would have been nice to have multiple choices or multiple endings (I suppose that would have been to expensive for the devs, alas). I also suspected "I" was an AI pretty quick, long before the character did. In the last third, you totally knew there was going to be some kind of Matrix-style "twist" (everything is a simulation! Simulation within a simulation within a similation! Gotcha!) although I have to admit, I did find it amusing to be playing a "game" (simulation) of a simulation of a simulation of a simulation of a simulation (etc.).
6. I hate fetch quests, but I appreciated the way the devs shook things up by letting us go to Titan or outside the station or into the maintenance tunnels.
7. Okay, so there was this corpse in the mainframe area. And the AI knew the corpse was there, and that you'd inevitably run into it when you were there looking to connect the networks. Except AI Jack seemed to have forgotten? Which I thought was weird.
8. I wanted to know more about the crew. Other than a few objects/notes in their room, they didn't seem like fully fleshed out characters (one guy's only defining characteristic was that he lifted weights a lot, for example). If they had been more developed, players would care more when we find out they got spaced.
9. The passwords were hilarious. Like, who uses four number (easily hacked) passwords and codes? Oh, and of course nearly everyone puts these codes in the immediate vicinity of their computer, or provides helpful hints in their emails to people on a public server. Most of the time, the password thing seemed unnecessary. It would have been more fun to have more puzzles. I genuinely liked the helmet thing and I would have been happy to have more challenging puzzles to solve as a way to "hack" passwords. The puzzles were very easy.

It's a brief 'walking simulator' style game with light puzzle elements that are very unfriendly to the colorblind or those that have forgotten their grade school color mixing skills :)

So basically you're on a track from beginning to end and you just do what the game tells you as you play out the story. That said, it's a reasonably interesting story with a few clunky bits that can be forgiven. The setting is cool and I overall enjoyed it, though I'll say the puzzle mechanic really overstayed its welcome for me. That said, it was worth getting to the end, so stick it through :)

I really enjoyed this game! It was a good, interesting story, the gameplay was fun, and it was also really interesting to see RTX effects in a small indie game! I also really enjoyed the 90's computer/future aesthetic. Look forward to other games you might be making!

If you are not fond of "walking simulators" or narrative-driven games, you will want to skip this. If, however, you absolutely like those experiences or are eager to try, I think you will find a lovely little title in this game. Depending on your exposure to certain ideas/tropes in other media, some beats of the story might seem familiar. I know a fair amount of these, but it still had me second guessing which angle it might take and it did surprise me at the end. The aesthetics and music are really great, my only minor complaint would be that the voice audio sometimes seems a bit on the low side of things, despite me cranking the volume up as much as it could.

Another review mentions the hacking game and being colourblind. I would say that even if you are colourblind, you can still do these without worry. Just look carefully at the cubes and what's written on them.

It's beautiful and simple. Great story, nice graphics. It is a 3D visual sci-fi novel. It's short (3 hours) but it's shouldn't be any longer. I don't see any replay value. So it's a one-time experience but yet it's a good experience. Congratulations to the developer! Very nicely designed and developed game.

I love these indie walking simulators in space and Titan Station is not an exception. This one is a good and "simple" sci-fi mystery with an interesting story and beautiful graphics. The acting is mostly good too (some over acting in parts from the main character, but nothing that's distracting). Normally these kind of walking simulators consist of challenging puzzles but the gameplay of Titan Station is straight forward and easy which I really appreciate. It was a relief not having to solve puzzles for once because I hate puzzle solving (I'm a woman so logic is not my strong suit). Titan Station simply delivered an engaging story in space and I loved it! :)

This is essentially an interactive science fiction story with a very nice retro future aesthetic straight out of Alien 1979. It's slow paced and focuses on the atmosphere and the narrative. Look elsewhere if you want action, but if you want to immerse yourself in an interesting, concise sci-fi narrative with a lot of atmosphere this will scratch that itch. I thought it had an interesting story with a couple of plot twists that I didn't see coming, but maybe you will I don't know. It's on the short side, I completed the game in two evenings which is actually kind of nice for a change. I've got way too many games I'm very far from completing so it's good to finish one for once. Anyway, this is a recommend, especially on sale I think it's well worth it.

The game and story are very linear with a uninspired plot. There's so many locked doors that you think you'll have access to this huge station. But no, you get none of that.

You have access to 3 or 4 areas, depending how you count it. All of which are part of the storyline and inaccessible until then (which is fine). However, there is no choices in the game at all, not even like a "oops you clicked the wrong button, game over."

I'm not asking for a whole open-world thing, but just a little bit more than "follow this path and go to this place." Even the tablets scattered throughout don't add much lore literally some of them are just repeated text.

Overall, I think the story could've let the player have some of their own ah-ha moments instead of spelling it out. In addition, i think a secret room here and there would've benefited the game a lot.

The TLDNR; The game is fun, but quick to complete, it looks good, and sounds fine, has an interesting story but is a little predictable however executed well, the price was my only issue, hence why I waited for it to go on sale. If you like games like Scorn, & Firewatch (I've played both of those games) it may be a game you would enjoy playing!

Going into this game I knew it would be pretty quick to complete and achieve all the available achievements in a single play-through, so I waited for the game to go on sale before purchasing. With that out the way I can confidently say this game was a lot of fun to play, I thought I may have trouble with some of the puzzles being fully colorblind (there were images I saw online of sections of the game that indicated the color related puzzles) however to my amazement the developer made the puzzles very much an enjoyable, and achievable experience.
The game sound design was very well implemented, with the only critique being the male character's (the person you are controlling) voice seemed to be quieter than the other voices in-game. The visuals and atmosphere all worked great with the games ambiance, and it was all in all a "very nice looking", fun and engaging experiance, with the only negative being the price, however like I stated at the start, I bought the game at a discount during a sale.If you enjoy walking simulators (the only game I can compare that I also bought would be Firewatch, or even to a lesser extent Scorn) and you like storys set in a sci-fi environment I would say this game might be what you are looking for.

This is a walking sim/narrative game where you explore a space station to determine what is going on. There are some small puzzle sections that are easily self explanatory. I looved every minute of the experience.

Rarst
Rarst

The station is a little cartoonish and more of a "long corridors for you to walk" than anything interesting. Plot picks up eventually, but the start is slow and "puzzles" are dull. It's not a bad game, but a weaker one in the space station with a story niche.

ArterialSpray1066
ArterialSpray1066

Got to admit the highlight for me here was the retro-futuristic station in all its atmospheric glory. :p
So if you want to wander around a space station from a classic scifi movie, without having to worry about being ambushed by an alien menace (though you will half expect it at times) this is a game for you.

Decent enough plot (some slow bits some fast). Excellent voice acting and character dialogue (frankly far more than I expected for a simple little game like this, was genuinely fond of some of them by the end, lol).
The exploring style puzzles (finding clues to passwords etc) were simple but good for world building. The hacking minigame puzzles were a tad fiddly because the game is occasionally buggy on input, but they were simple enough and broke up the walking and talking.

The game is short, in about 3 hours I believe I read and experienced everything.

Overall would recommend.

The negative reviews sort of have it right... But I still enjoyed the game.

SET EXPECTATIONS (It's a walking simulator not a puzzle game).

The good:
The graphics that will age well due to the retro future look.
The voice acting.

The Meh:
The story... Made palatable but the excellent voice acting but so linear your actions do not matter. Still enjoyable (Like reading a book not a game).
The conclusion is predictable and bittersweet.
No alternate endings.

The Bad:
Very linear story.
Very simple non puzzles.
Repetitive game play.

I believe it's almost a one man show... Support him and his next project may be excellent...
The potential is there.

GET IT ON SALE.

A very cool take on AI and whether they can be "alive" or not. Can't really say much without possibly spoiling the story but I was happy with it. I got a little over three hours out of it. I did buy it on sale for around $7.50. Definitely worth it at that price.

I really enjoyed this game. It took me just under 4 hours to complete, and that was with exploring a lot of the details of the environment around me. It definitely has a Soma feel to it, which I consider a really good thing. For a while I thought it'd be predictable, but it has enough twists and turns to still keep it original and fun. If you like a heavy story-driven Sci-Fi game with some puzzles and good voice acting, this one is a winner.

Good sci-fi/mystery game. If you like stories like Moon, Soma, Firewatch and similar, you will like this one. Great atmosphere, good voice acting, inventive puzzles, and a nice visual homage to the 60:s-70:s sci-fi productions. An intriguing mystery well done. Very impressive considering the limited number of people behind it. Not a very long experience, and you can probably finish it in one day. But since most games these days are too long and bloated anyway, I don't see that as a minus.

Spoiler-free review!

Story:
Titan Station is well paced and thought out with intention. Considering how quickly you can potentially complete the game (took me 4 hours start to finish) it manages to hit lots of satisfying narrative moments in a short amount of time. It may not have the bandwidth to really dive into some of the concepts it centers the story on, but it arguably gets you to the most exciting bits of those ideas without much fluff or distraction. Putting it another way, the narrative steps happen fast enough that you don't lose interest and the story doesn't get side-tracked, but paced carefully enough so that you have time to put the pieces together and let it sink in. The main ideas of the story are sci-fi staples, but thankfully the devs didn't try to reinvent the wheel and instead devised a story that offers a fresh take on heavily used subject matter.

Gameplay:
Everything about the inputs felt intuitive and was kept minimal and unobstructive without being overly cryptic. A nice balance of immersion and accessibility. That being said, a more casual gamer than I may have a different experience, but the game doesn't go out of it's way to hide anything from you too terribly much. The choices you have are all more or less linear save for a handful for things. Connoisseurs of puzzlers will likely find this rather easy, but as the story is the focus of the game that isn't anything to take points off for.

Visuals/Technical
The environments were a real plus for this game! Some excellent spot lighting, gas effects for ventilation systems, and overall good texture details really aided the immersion into the story. I didn't experience any bugs or performance issues beyond just the very occasional hang-up on a few frames usually when going from one main area of the station to another. But really nothing to report as far as bugs or stability issues. A solid experience and some wonderfully lit space station interiors!

Sound Design:
My biggest complaint about the sound design and music/ambiance is that the game went by too fast to enjoy it more! Overall a really nice soundscape with a low ominous hum of one kind or another usually present at any point in the game. Creaking noises, vents hissing, and especially the sound of mechanical keystrokes. The moments that brought music, or at least more of a musical ambiance, were all well done and satisfying. If the sound feels off it can ruin the immersion for me so this gets an easy passing grade! If I had to nit-pick I would say more sound effects when interacting with items and things might've been nice but I didn't feel the game was missing it either necessarily.

Genre Score (how I would rate this compared to games of a similar genre):
4/5

Overall Score (how I would rate this game compared to all games I've ever played):
3/5

Unfortunately, I can't recommend this game, even though I'm usually a big fan of walking simulators. It is unfortunate because the developers clearly put in lots of work and from a technical point of view the game works flawless.
For me, a walking simulator needs either an interesting story or engaging gameplay to be fun, Titan Station offers neither.
Of course, the retro spaceship environments look great, but that's about it.
The story feels like a Soma knockoff with a pinch of 2001: A Space Odyssey. Not bad but also not good enough to compensate for the dull gameplay. First of all, there is no point in exploring the station because the game is mostly linear and there is nothing interesting or useful to be found, except for a few key items here and there that are usually right next to the "puzzle" they are required for. The game is not only very linear, it also holds your hand and not even trusts you with figuring out passwords / codes on your own.
Speaking of the passwords / codes...the first half of the game feels like a constant password hunt, which is not fun because as I said above the game does not let you figure them out on your own. After the tenth time you find a note telling you "Remember the password for the door is 3245" it gets dull very fast. Of course this note is always on the PC right next to the locked door...
The only other puzzles are in the "Tron" sequences later in the game and consist of matching a few colors, also very dull.
Overall there was one fun puzzle in the game.

Titan Station gives you a beautiful retro space station but sadly the story is not interesting or captivating enough to compensate for the lacking gameplay.

One of those nice little games with presumably a low budget and great team behind it. Good voice acting and a solid story. Setting is somewhat similar to Evennt[0] (And I LOVE it), takes maybe 3 hrs to complete and I was entertained the whole time. If you like walking simulators you will be too.

Titan Station is a very linear narrative adventure with some very light puzzle sections. It's here to tell a story and it doesn't get in its own way to do so. The voice acting can be a little jarring as some of the more emotional line reads didn't land for me and the audio levels between one character shouting their lines while another calmly delivers exposition don't help much, but overall it provides necessary colour to the story being told.

Don't go in expecting this to hit the highs of a SOMA or Tacoma, but if you enjoy these kinds of narrative adventures there's plenty here to enjoy.

I don't usually leave reviews but this game was such a great experience for me - I completed it in 6 hours and 2 sittings. It definitely scratched the Firewatch itch that i've had ever since that game. The story was interesting but not overly complicated, the voice acting was very good. I enjoyed the small puzzles in the simulation

I played maxed out with DLSS and this might just be the best looking game I have ever seen, running at a smooth and consistently high framerate. No crashes, bugs or jankiness. I took a lot of screenshots, though I do wish there was a Photo Mode or at least a setting to disable the current objective HUD for screenshots. I'd also have liked an FOV slider since I play on ultrawide so the FOV was a little narrow.

Awesome music to top it all off. Very impressive for such a small development team!

pretty good.
only problems i have with it is:
a bug, textures would break often.
the ending.
im not a fan of endings were you put simulations in simulations as the "ending" its lazy story writing.

why am i not describing the good parts?
its what you expect really, decent graphics, decent story(a bit predictable) and such, what can i say? its your average 5/10 game, didn't really wow me but its better then alot of trash out there.

Fun game def catch it on sale though. Ending was interesting some of the game-play made me feel like I was playing Tron Legacy or something which was cool. Overall, a few minor glitches, but good game.

Nice atmosphere and a story that keeps you want to play more. I don't remember 1999 to be like this :)

It is a short game (roughly 4 hours, which is a big plus for me), and well worth the investment.

Wrote a bad review because the mouse had different speeds for X and Y axis, which felt really weird. Dev replied he has fixed it within a few hours. It's still a bit wonky and you need to reload a save to apply mouse sensitivity, but I appreciate the fast reaction.

Now to the game.
I really enjoyed playing through this game. The atmosphere of this game is really well made and lets you immerse in this unusual situation. The storytelling is great and fulfills the genre "mystery" Perfectly. While playing you are constantly trying to understand what is going on.
There aren't many choices you can make for yourself so you should consider this as an interactive movie mystery thriller.
Definitely enjoyed the experience

This game is fantastic. It looks great, it is fun to play, the story is great. The developer is super helpful and friendly and very quick to respond. I don't replay games very often but this is one for sure that I will replay over and over again. I am absolutely already looking forward to other games from the creator of Titan Station.

Above average "walking simulators". Very nice graphics, you run around a space station, communicating with other people via a radio (a bit similiar to Firewatch) and doing stuff. No action, no jump scares, just you, the station, and the story.

However, first, the price tag is really a bit high and second, the overall story is, for me, just too super-fancy and pseudo-philosophic (not as strange as "Observation" but into that direction). Maybe its just me, but I would prefer a more rock-solid and realistic/believable story (like in "Deliver Us The Moon" or in "Tacoma").

Overall its really hard to decide, its not on the level of some of the mentioned walking simulations but still above average, so yeah, its ok.

I quite enjoyed this game. It is beautiful on Titan, always wanted to go there, and has a cool story.

I quite enjoyed this game, It was not difficult, or even scary, but it had a nice atmosphere. The story was intriguing, although it was short, and therefore you might extend your stay by looking frequently out the Station windows and let yourself dream away and imagine that you are actually on a Titan Station. 😎 Parts of the game, led you to go outside, and that was cool because the views are beautiful.

I always love coming across hidden gems like this. A very well made indie game set in one of the best environments a game can take place in with nice visuals, voice acting and a good story to back it all up.

This game is a love child of SOMA and a Firewatch.

Yes, this is a walking simulator with no combat, but make no mistake - the plot and atmosphere here is so thick you can cut it with a knife. Building up suspence is what this game does perfectly, I remember feeling uneasy and on the edge of my seat as the plot unfolds.

The game runs smoothly on Steam Deck while looking quite spectacular. Problem with small text has been fixed thanks to the addition of zoom mode (Options > General > Zoom). Shout out to the developer for fixing this issue so quickly.

An astonishing achievement for an independent developer. The story was excellent, the art style felt very consistent and the retro computing aesthetic was really well executed. There are some analogues with the game SOMA both with the story and the gameplay, which is definitely a compliment. For anyone who loves unique stories and games this is well worth a play through. I look forward to the developers next game.

No jump scares, gore or horror, it was a thrilling story but not a scary one. Very safe to play in that regard.

Is it worth 15 euros? Sure... the atmosphere is nice if you allow yourself to get immersed. Unfortunately, it took about an hour to predict the whole story, right up to a very anticlimactic ending. This had potential to go in many interesting directions and I can't help but feel it that it took the least interesting one. I feel very disappointed.

This is an AMAZING Game! I am truly Shocked it is from a small developer. Most small time Indie Games you can say are good because the small troubles can be overlooked. This game does not really have any drawbacks. Without any spoilers, I can say the game makes you think SOMETHING is off from the early stages. But when I THOUGHT I knew what was going on, The game throws unexpected twists your way. Not truly a horror game as there is no health, but trust me. If this was labeled as physiological horror, you would not bat an eye! A truly unheard of masterpiece!

After 4 hours of playtime, my opinion is only stronger! This is an amazing game. I literately spent my whole off day [playing. I just could not stop! Dont pass on the game. It is a relativity unknown game, but one I feel should be more know. Games like this are why I started my YouTube channel! It is a great game I want everyone to learn about! If Joakim Larsen ever makes another game, Ill be one of the first lined up to try it!

I give this game a thumbs up. It was an entertaining space drama with some very nice scenery and a thought provoking theme.
I had a relaxing day playing Titan Station and did not encounter a single bug. Very solid build.

And lastly, the achievements are all story related so you can complete everything in one play through.

Good stuff, I can't say I loved every minute of it but as a whole package it was worth the time.

Great atmosphere, story that gives you plenty of reasons to be interested in what is going on, and just enough puzzling gaming to keep it feeling interactive even though it's mostly a 'walking simulator' type of game where you walk and take in the story for most of the experience.

Great game! As a lover of space, computers, story games, and all things retro idk if there is a better combination of them out there. Such a pleasure to play.

Fans of walk simulators with a great story like Firewatch, Outer Wilds, What Remains of Edith Finch, etc. don't hesitate. You will not be disappointed.

Those not familiar with the genre, for $15, give it a shot. You may be surprised how much you like it.

Excalibur
Excalibur

Short and sweet sci-fi mystery/puzzle/walking simulator. The developer nailed the atmosphere with the setting, environmental and level design. Gameplay is barebones (as with most walking simulators), but the story moves at a breakneck pace with more twists than an M. Night Shyamalan movie.

Solid game.
Great atmosphere, cool animations and intriguing story.
If you're into walking simulators I think you might like this game.

I went into the game with level headed expectations since it's developed by one guy and game development requires many different skills that rarely a single person have.
It's for this reason many games are developed by a team of people where people are specialized in one thing.

The story was better than my initial expectations which made for an intriguing experience. I felt like the story was interesting enough that I actually wanted to read through the texts in the terminals because it explained things about the story that I desired to know more about.
An important thing to the story for me was also the inclusion of voice actors in the game. It made for a more immersive and interesting story.

The atmosphere was great in this game and reminded me of the atmosphere in Alien Isolation and Firewatch. Not the same, but similar in some ways. Both of which are amazing games and I think it's a great accomplishment to make something that has a similar experience to those games.
I think the sound effects also added alot to make for an immersive atmosphere, which can be challenging to get right as an indie developer.

I think there were enough variation in the game to keep my interest. You were introduced to new environments throughout the game and of course you're on a space station. It's gonna be a space station environment but just slight variations are enough. I don't wanna mention specifics since I think it could remove from the experience when you play it yourself.

The final thing I wanna mention are the animations. Solid animations create a much more immersive experience. In this game you don't only click a button to open a door. There's an animation of you interacting with the door in order to open it.
Which for some people might seem small, but I think small things like this make for a much more immersive game.

The game ran smoothly and I encountered no bugs, which is a major plus.

If you've been playing deeply narrative science fiction games for more than four or five years, than Titan Station is a story you've played before, but it is executed very well. The graphics are evocative of the 1970's or 1980's in-space aesthetic, but combine a number of different styles together into it's own blend. The game maintains a tense atmosphere, but there are no jump scares, at least that I ran into. If you liked SOMA but didn't care for the monsters, or you very much liked Event[0], you'll probably enjoy this short-form entry into the genre.

Applecrow

Hard to believe this is a solo dev project, its pretty well put together, beautiful and the dev is responsive to any issues that prop up. Titan Station has great atmosphere and has an interesting premise. It doesn't waste to much time on what's going on, while also keeping you guessing as to what really IS going on, if that makes sense.

Its short but I think expanding it might just make it feel bloated. I say that but I also think I would enjoy more of the menial tasks a maintenance worker would encounter on a space station, but this game is much more about the story rather than the job.

Short and sweet - But a good game, never-the-less.
I enjoyed it. This is one of those games, that may never replay. But you're kind of glad that you did.
Solid story, I was half hoping for a different kind of ending, but I also wondering if it was designed to be that way for a follow-up.
Good game, worth the price tag.
No performance issues.

This game is great.
I went into it only knowing that it looked a little like Firewatch but in space, and I do think the general gameplay is similar.
I liked the story. At first it seemed a bit basic, but surprised me several times. I wont spoil anything here as I think it's best to go into it blind like I did.
Visually this game looks amazing. It perfectly captures a 'Alien but slightly more modern' look and I love it.
Animations are a bit clunky, but they get the job done and don't detract from the overall feel the game has.
Voice acting is a bit cheesy, but I feel like the actors get better as you progress into the game.

Overall I would highly recommend this game if you like story driven walking sims.

Also, maybe a little bit of a spoiler, but you never have to run or hide from a 'monster' in this game which I am very glad of.

Titan Station is a fantastic game, one with amazing atmosphere and an attention to detail in everything that puts some other games (bigger games) to shame in my opinion.

The fact that this game is made by a solo developer, doesn't change my opinion. This game is amazing!

Straight off the bat, the first thing that drew my attention was the attention to detail in the environment - the Station, the objects inside it, the visuals, the ambience and all the messages you can find have an incredible level of detail to them.

The music is also something I have to highlight. The soundtrack to this game is fantastic! It really sets the mood and helps to really immerse the player into this world.

The story and characters were honestly very well done. Every time I got new information, I was building a theory in my head. The way the story plays out is done in such a way that it makes the player want to start building theories to what is happening here.

While this game is "only" 3-4 hours long, it is worth playing for anyone that loves story based games! This game deserves so many more positive reviews and deserve way more attention by so many in the gaming community.

At this stage, I hope Joakim Larsen pursues more ideas and makes more games in the future. This being the first game, that doesn't mean this game is rough or anything like that. This is a stellar first game! And I want to see what Joakim can do next.

Very good Sci-Fi Walking Sim. One of the better games in the genre.
Good story. puzzles are simple and straight forward.
The Synth Soundtrack & 80s Retro look are also a plus.
Maybe a little too short & a little too expensive, but in this case that's fine, because for a one-dev production this game is top tier.

If you like sci-fi, mystery & supporting indie devs, play Titan Station.
