thanks game for always reminding me when my general is in "grave danger" (12/200 yari ashigaru unit)
It's fun with a friend. One of those games that you didn't think you'd like and then when you play with the right friend it becomes an amazing time.
RTS Hall of famer, it was the best game in the genre at its time, it was best enjoyed playing with mates online taking over the world together.
The perfect balance of old and new total war mechanics. This game is a gem and I would 100% reccomend it to any total war player, not matter if they prefer the older games or the newer ones. The addition of the Fall of the Samurai DLC makes the game even better!
Best Entry of the Total war series hands-down. I'd ask for a total war: Shogun 3 but in Creative Assembly's current state I just know they'd ruin this games majesty.
capable of firing at a rate of over 200 rounds per minute with its rotating barrel and hand cranked automatic reloading system this is the Gatling machine-gun created by renowned inventor Dr. Richard J Gatling his gun is the finest weapon to provide a continuous high rate of fire without pause for reloading
I often think OLD GOOD | NEW BAD, but I believe this sequel does justice to its predecessor. Shogun 1 Total War and the Mongol Invasion expansion pack were the first original games I ever owned in my life. I must have played that game for 10+ years, and even tho I loved Rome: Total War, my heart always returned to Shogun 1.
Last week, I loaded Shogun 2 for the first time, and I admit Shogun 2 is an improvement in almost every aspect over the original game, it does lack certain 'soul' such as missing the emissaries coming into the war-room to discuss diplomacy with you, I also remember the ninja videos being cooler than what we have now, I have yet to see any geishas in shogun 2, and the original soundtrack being delegated to Loading Screen Music pains my heart. But my god, there is no greater feeling than literally headshotting the enemy general with a cannon ball or Yari-lock the entire enemy army to death.
Naval battles kinda sucked tho.
"Samurais and Ninjas and Dojos on fire! Raising up all of my enemies' ire! These are a few of my favorite things!"
"Shameful displays and Dying with honour! Arrows and muskets and katanas to ponder! These are a few of my favorite things!"
-A song for Shogun 2.
In my opinion this is one of the best Total war games you can buy, especially with the blood and war dlc. With the blood and war dlc, the fighting looks really good and gory. Battles are fun and challenging. There are many factions each with their own unique spin and look. Sieges are a bit less grand and difficult due to not needing any siege towers or battering rams as units can climb the walls on their own, but this just makes the siege game play different to most other Total War games.
Older game but very good and a lot of fun well worth the purchase and as cheap as it is you can get all the DLCs for cheap and I would recommend getting them all. This is one of the gems of the past that is still good today!
My first TW game and a classic. Base game and expansions provide hours and hours of gameplay. One of the best strategy games ever made.
So installing flash player
Then selecting Direct X 9 setting
The game is stable
on steam deck
with discord running in the background
I am running a keyboard and mouse
Also in deck mode not desktop mode.
One of the last of the Total War games that didn't fail hard
Wonderfully interesting time period to play in
Best Total War game ever made.. Polished and stable, yet simpler than all the newer games. Still fn all these years later
The game is over 10 years old and still just as good, if not better than other games in this category.
always just awesome to show warriors who trained their whole lives to reach peerless prowess in sword combat, how cool some funny black power in a metal tube is
A game which truly embodies the concept of 'quality over quantity'. One of the more simplistic and small scale total war games, but ultimately one which is refined, polished, aesthetically pleasing and wonderfully balanced in practically all aspects, from campaign diplomacy to AI competence on the battlefield. Ultimately, it lacks the scale and ambition of Rome 2 for instance, but this game truly delivers and is a must buy for total war enthusiasts.
Best Game! Please update this game
An amazing game, gives a lot of valuable gameplay from diffrent prospectives in a long ago era.
I procured the game from the internet long before buying it on here. Can say, without any doubt whatsoever, this is the single best TW game in the series. Even the DLC is amazing. Highly recommend.
its an older game but for what it offers its not a bad game. i surely enjoy it
