TransPlan is a very enjoyable puzzle/physics game at a very enjoyable price. If you have a penchant for this sort of game, this is definately one NOT to be missed.

The goal is to cause one geometric shape to be delivered to the same spot as another shape, locked in place (so far at least.) This is done by a combination of manipulating the moving shape, as well as other shapes, using the force of gravity. Shapes are manipulated by using pins, much in the manner of Crayon Physics Deluxe, or by erasing. Perhaps other means further on, and some of the shapes fall into sometimes partially controllable PILES of shapes. It can be somewhat complex, and so far the number of suggested necessary movements has gone as high as eight. The "reset" and "undo" buttons will be well used, and should be, without shame. I've had fun failing deliberately, just to watch gravity at work. (If you have a touch screen this game is a little piece of heaven! VERY well thought out.)

So far I've just passed the 40 puzzle mark, apparently of 70. Nothing is crazy-frustrating, and in fact can be fairly easily accomplished, though without the feeling of being a gift. (I've returned to a few, rather than become frustrated.) There is thought required for success, and since many can be solved below "par" (basically under "budget", or in less than the suggested number of movements) there is an additional challenge that can be quite a bit more interesting, even after initial completion. (I've come in as much as 5 below, on a 7-movement puzzle, and there are two achievements to recognize that very thing.) The map is well conceived, as is the process of becoming eligible to access certain puzzles and groups of puzzles. At any time there may be numerous puzzles available for consideration, grouped into categories such as "catapult" and "sling" (my personal favorite!)

Don't expect this to be Crayon Physics Deluxe, and at this wonderful price and degree of accessibility, it shouldn't be. Every puzzle solved has given me a nice feeling of accomplishment, without the frustration so often a game-ending part of the journey. Since I am in no way an engineer, I am grateful for this really fun, well designed game with a very well conceived learning curve. And the DEVs will respond quickly, sometimes within minutes. For me, that can be the BEST feature in a game.

I love these little physics games. My borderline for a great title is under $1/hour of entertainment. This one was over in 2 hours, so it doesn't make thge great line, but it is a fun little game if you are only looking to waste a couple hours.

Very nice game. It is simple and inside is the beauty. Fun puzzles with physics of objects from A to B, good for enriching your logical thinking. May seem a simple concept A to B, but in between you have to build the appropriate path and think from physics aspect, how the various objects interact with each other.
Nice ambient music that goes along. At the beginning it has a tutorial to teach you about the couple of tools you can use to create the right path to transport the blue object in the blue portal.

Note to developer, this game deserves a sequel in the future :)

BlaXpirit
BlaXpirit

The idea of the game is quite nice. But it's easy to make unintended trivial workaround solutions. And the bugs of the undo feature are exploitable (I accidentally finished a level once by clicking undo...)

The game still can be enjoyable for perhaps 2 hours, and the price on sale makes it a good deal.

Quite a fun little puzzle game, some parts I figured out pretty quickly but other parts, primarily in the later stages I really had to think what I needed to do to complete the level.
Very good game for the money and I definately recommend buying it if you like puzzle games.

Fun puzzle game. The objective is to move blue ball/square into another blue square using few simple mechanics based on gravity and motion. Graphical style reminds me of Crayon Physics Deluxe (which is good :P), the music is ok, overall quality of this small game is really good.

Play it if you wanna have few headscratchers :P

"Brillliant physics puzzler with simple paper sketch graphics"

You can attach pins into blocks or rubber blocks away.
The aim is to bring the blue block to the other blue block.
Levels are named after the technic you use, like catapult, slingshot or pendulum.
Highly enjoyed playing this game.

Was looking for a cheap little puzzle game during the sale. Only completed the first few levels but I'm finding this a lot of fun.

ObesePanda
ObesePanda

fun game, not worth 3$ though, i paid .79 and found that to be a fair price. the game is too short to justify anything more than that.

The game's physics are sub par, a lot of times the game would treat large white boxes to be lighter than small white boxes, and that really threw me off. Also has a few glitches where the undo button would freeze suspended objects, so you have to be wary of that. But other than that, worth the price paid

TransPlan is a puzzle-simulator game with a fun 'doodle' appearance.

The game uses basic physics of gravity and collisions, and you are tasked with getting the blue item to the end position. While not particularly difficult, it does provide challenges by tasking you to complete levels 'under par'. This coupled with 'pins' lets you find very unique solutions to each puzzle. It's particularly rewarding when you manage to get the game to produce a result in a very small number of moves.

The music and appearance match the difficulty, being very light-hearted, and if you ever get stuck you can use 'hints' to show you where to get started on a level. I do feel as if the game provides a bit too much help though, as if you keep asking for more hints it will essentially solve the level for you.

Not particularly difficult, but fun nonetheless.

Nice casual logic/puzzle physics based game. You can pin down or erase elements to finally set them in positions so that the blue one reaches the destination. Easy concept, well made game.

Too bad it is so short. Those 80 or so levels should have been only training or tutorial to something bigger.

Given that I bought it fo 0.5€ or something like that, I may say those were well spent money. I would buy it again for that price.

If you see it on sale for some crazy-low money and you like puzzle games, just go for it.

One more thing - works great in Linux.

anti-magic

While the charming art style and overall idea of the game are well executed, unfortunately the physics can be a little inconsistent along with the detection for getting the blue shape into the correct area. Plus the game gives you an absurd amount of points for hints that allow you to breeze through whichever levels give you grief.

If you can pick it up for cheap you will find a fun little puzzle game to kill some time, but otherwise it feels a little too light compared to more challenging games like Hexcells or Kami.

Belisama

A pretty, pleasant, pure-thinking puzzler. I love the hand-drawn-on-grid-paper aesthetic, as well as the fact that it's non-linear.

ricky1981
ricky1981

I love the style but the physics are just plain broken in some places. For example, a block that is 3 times the size will travel further when hit than an otherwise identical smaller block.

By the later levels you just can't make a sensible solution work and have to rely on hints that exploit the wonky physics.

A shame as I love supporting indie titles but this just isn't much fun in it's current state.

PottyBert
PottyBert

Enoyable, sometimes tricky, sometimes exceptionally easy. The levels are not as well balanced as they could be (some are par 9 and can be completed in 2 moves).

Still decent for the price, and they're still adding things to it.

I completed the whole set in ~2 hours, but of course I went back and got as many of them as I could under par

Squishy Butt
Squishy Butt

Great game, very good amount of puzzles, some super easy and some not so super easy, and takes a bit of thinking to complete some of them. When I played some levels that requires you to complete them in a certain way, I was able to find some way around it to reach the goal in lesser moves than required. Probably kinda cheating! xD

Getting achievements are pretty easy overall, and should take you around 3 hours to 100% it. I think this game might be even awesomer if you could create your own puzzles and be able to share them with others so they can play your own creations. Have a leaderboard so you can see who took the fewest moves to complete a puzzle.

Sometimes, you just need to kick back an' do sum tank'n. Ya know what I'm saying?? After you've been spawned out, and winding down for the night - or its Sunday afternoon and you just want to relax a bit. This game is a perfect simple, fulfilling, and challenging game. Kudos to the designers (and composer). Fun.

TransPlan was a very pleasant surprise! This is one of Steam's "bargain bin" games, when something is being sold for £0.39 in a sale, you don't really jump into the game with high expectations, but this turned out to be a brilliant purchase!

TransPlan is a physics puzzle game, reminicent of the old The Incredible Machine series, except instead of having hundreds of ludicrous gadgets and tools at your disposal, you simply get an eraser and some thumb tacks to complete the puzzles. It is a very simple concept, but it's so beautifully done.
The mechanics of this game are very easy to learn and there is a perfect difficulty curve as you progress through the levels, things don't really get all that challenging until you reach the expert stages though, some of the master levels will leave you scratching your heads for quite a while if you chose not to use the hints feature.

So without a doubt I would recommend TransPlan to any puzzle fans, at such a low cost which gets even lower in the Steam sales, it's a steal. On top of that, it's a very fun game to try and 100% too when you're in that "I don't know what to play" mood. Pick this up when it goes on sale, you won't regret it.

An extremely fun puzzle game, unlike anything i've ever played. It's got a good learning curve, as in it eases you into the harder levels very smoothly. Some of such harder levels I found extremely confusing however they retained to be entertaining. The game is packed with levels, too- It never gets boring. For the price, it's so much more than a worthy buy.

Peri

Another short, minimalist game. Very good for the price point.

Puzzles are quite frustrating at times, exactly what I'd want in a puzzler. Music is good, visuals are perfect for the genre.

There can be a bit of counter-intuitiveness to some of the puzzles but that's fine as they do adhere rather well to basic physics. Though do be careful on the undo option, motion isn't always remembered properly there.

In short, glad I bought the game. Was a good 2 hours of entertainment.

A fantasticly fun physics games. The early levels are easy enough, mostly trial and error if it's not outright obvious wht to do. So it's best to save up the hints you gain for the later levels! Never too challenging but always enjoyable, a nice relaxing puzzle game for puzzle gamers and an amusing but not too intimidating challenge for those not so good at puzzles.

iswisteven

A great physics-based puzzle game. Progession of levels' difficulty is sufficient to prepare players for the Master Puzzles. Plenty of challenges with later puzzles and players can utilize the game's physics system to complete some levels with only a few strokes.
Overall, a nice casual game with good music.

starshipwaters
starshipwaters

Good and relatively quick game to 100% for achievements.

TransPlan is a simple physics-based puzzle game that reminded me of classics like 'The Incredible Machine.' Each level has a par number of moves you can score under, at, or over. If you are having trouble with any puzzles, "hint tokens," which you earn by beating levels, can be redeemed to show you how to start (or if you use a lot of tokens, finish) whatever puzzle you'd like.

All in all, this is a pretty non-threatening and casual puzzle game, which isn't to say that all the puzzles are easy, but it never manages to get frustrating. For the asking price of $2-$3 dollars, you're looking at roughly a dollar per hour of gameplay, and you can certainly do much worse than that.

D150rd3r
D150rd3r

A really simple fun game with an attractive blueprint art-style.

Only minor problem with it is that it is a little bit harder than I'd like to navigate between levels and see which you've completed.

Niles The Brave
Niles The Brave

Fun little physics puzzle game. Your goal is to get a blue square or circle to a blue area to complete each puzzle. Items start stationary but when you click on them gravity is activated and the blocks will move accordingly.

You're given two tools to complete your tasks wtih; an eraser and thumbtacks. The eraser will let you get rid of undesirable blocks and the tacks can go in slots to make the block pivot around that spot.

Using these tools, you'll make catapaults, swings and other interesting tools to help you throw blocks around in ways that would give Newton a boner.

The graphics are pretty minimalistic, it's all done on graph paper and with pencil, so it's still aesthetically pleasing.

The music I really enjoyed, just simple playful little tunes that will have you unashamedly bobbing while you sling blocks around.

The overall theme of the game is simplicity hiding some pretty complex features.

It will only take a few hours to complete. The game isn't super challenging, but it will make you think a bit. Definitely worth a playthrough

This is a puzzle game in which you have to get the blue ball on the blue spot. And it is definitely not all that easy. I even think it's very hard. You need a lot of insight, and I sorta lack insight. But even for us, with lacking insight, there is hope, because it's also able to gain some hints while playing. Sadly they are not endless. And also a bit sad is, that when you know the first step, but not the second, for instance, you need to use two hints if you want to know the second step. I don't think it would have been possible for the devs to change this, because of how the game works. Maybe, changing it in some way, would kill the game.
I get a bit lost in the menu, but you will find your way, and I recommend you giving this game a try. Especially when you have a lot of insight!

I recommend this game. :)

The game has a deceptively simple premise; move an object from point A to point B. How it goes about building around this concept is where the game shines. It's physics presented well.

Made me feel like I was back in school during the days when I would sketch things like this and then I would imagine it all move according to my rules. TransPlan is a physics game with an open-minded interaction (glitch or intended play) that sets itself to be challenging but never to the point of frustrating. My only complaint is that it is missing a creation mode where we can continue playing in this wonderful playground.

Transplan is a little and very enjoyable strategy puzzle game where you try to get the blue box/ball to the blue portal through rotation and gravity.

As always with this type of game its simple to understand but hard to master. It starts out simple and easy and become gradually more and more difficult. The graphic is made like a paper with handdrawn boxes and with pins and an eraser. Very nice style.

This is one of those rare gems of small but highly enjoyable games that sometimes surprisingly shows up at Steam sale. I got this one for one euro only and it was more than worth every cent. I hope we will see a lot of DLC's or a Transplan 2 very soon :-)

A casual puzzler, with clean graphics/interface and a chilled mood. TransPlan promotes playing around and iterating towards a solution.

The projects/levels are not too numerous, but the game (bought for less than 1€) delivers a solid fun/price-ratio.
If one uses no hints (strongly advised to try without!!!), the game can be finished in 2-3 hours... without being repetetive at all.

Minor point: the physic-engine seems a bit "touchy", meaning: tiny variations can lead to very different results.
And the game will not help you towards a good outcome, but will do what the engine dictactes.
As a result, TransPlan can feel odd sometimes, as trying to repeat a previous setup might end with a different outcome.
On the good side: trying to play with timing and variations, one can beat some levels waaaay below the "par".

OhMagoo
OhMagoo

TransPlan is a very enjoyable puzzle game. The play screen is simple &well laid out, with a graph paper background that also helps let you know where the drops will end up. The puzzles are well done and give a sense of satisfaction after solving them. The first couple of times that I navigated the menu was kind of frustrating, but after the first couple times, i started liking the menu layout, kind of like a mini-game unto itself.

My "gaming" computer is a 10 year old laptop running Linux with a 2gig processor & integrated video. This game ran flawlessly on it, with no problems.

If you like puzzle type games, then absolutely give this one a try. My only advice would be to solve only one or two puzzles each time you play it, instead of blowing through it all in one session.

Well done Kittehface - Two thumbs up!

Pschiu

doiron5's negative review precisely summarizes my complaints about the game, so just read that.

tl;dr the main dealbreaker is the physics, which is:

1) non-intuitive, e.g., if I drop a block on a catapult, the payload flies far, but if instead I drop TWO blocks, somehow the blocks drop slower (wt* gravity plz?) and the payload flies less far.

2) non-deterministic, i.e., if you perform the same action from the same state, the outcome could be different, so for every failed approach, you'd actually have to try a few times to be sure that it's really not working, and not just bad luck.

Half the puzzles also feel like "can you mindread the level designer" challenges.

Ygg
Ygg

Outstanding game.
There's not a lot more to say. The puzzles are good and require thought.
Also, it seems there's more than one way to solve most of them, which is pretty cool.
Only had to have the game flat out tell me how to solve one puzzle straight out, so they're not over the top difficult.
(It was Master lvl 14 I think. The one with a top and bottom section. Srsly just had no clue.)

Alpha Raven

I love this game. Basically, if you like physics puzzles, this is for you. It feels like a sequel to Crayon Physics Deluxe, which is great. If you like mental challenges and physics, you will like this (and should go back and play Crayon Physics Deluxe as well).

pb
pb

Pretty fun physics puzzle game, although not without flaws. The problem is that the behaviour of elements is nondeterministic, which is especially visible when you use undo and end up in a completely different situation than before the last action (most notably, blocks lose any momentum they may have had). Sometimes it helps to solve puzzles, sometimes it's a nuisance - one can only wonder if it's an intended behaviour or poor programming. Overall, though, it provides 2-3h of solid entertainment, so worth a try.

TLDR: Reskinned object routing game where you place handdrawn assets to solve simple puzzles. Does not qualify as a proper mechanical & assembly game other than the art.

If you want something 2D I would recommend contraption maker or if you want to step up get crazy machines 3. This is the same idea, solve puzzles by dragging drawn assets of things on the board. The drawn aesthetic and blank page background get bland and somewhat grating quick. You have none of the freedom that one might expect coming from a drawing/creative inspired game. For that I think you are still better off with Crayon Physics. All things considered this game was just a reskinned object routing game where you solve puzzles by placing objects. The whole idea of pinning things around and using a physics based solution system was terrible. The piano track was way too sappy. Somewhat disappointing overall. Removed for declutter

A reasonably fun physics-based puzzle game, if not a bit short (I finished it in less than 5 hours). Reminds me of Crayon Physics (a truly great drawing puzzle game) but TransPlan is shorter and not quite as fun (puzzles are often too easy). The puzzles do get tougher by the very end, but solving previous puzzles gives you credits you can use to get hints in the toughest spots of the last few puzzles. If the developer were to put out a cheap DLC pack for this, I might buy it for a dollar.

The graphics, art style is appealing. But puzzle is somewhat disappointing. There is less of "plan" or solving, rather trial and error with hint reveals. Also, a sequence of operation sometimes works, the other times doesn't, making it harder to predict.
