My favorite part of this game is where the developers stop developing the game and steal our money. We worked for that money, you didn't. Everyone who took a chance to support you should get a refund.

i got this game thinking every early access has a chance to thrive and deliver and now i leave it in my library as a constant reminder to do your research before investing in failed passion projects that dish out unfinished games thinking the playerbase is somehow responsible with helping develop and test the game. shame to see something so simply fun fail at turning into something special like terraria hell even starbound! will the guilt of feeding such capitalistic con artists ever dwindle or will i stare at this endless early access abomination for eternity? nvm i got games to play

I was watching a Yogscast video, and it popped up in their steam overlay that someone was playing this game. Intrigues, I left the video and popped over to Steam myself, and purched TUG.

What a disasterous mistake. But at least TUG helped reinforce the idea that you should never buy Early Access Games.

The Unfinished Game, one more nail in the coffin of Early Access. Thank you Nerd Kingdom for doing your part to end the Golden Age of Steam.

The Unfinished Game.

Or, at least one of many showing up on steam these days.

Having said that, this game is pretty cute. It requires a pretty hefty machine to run well, but i imagine optimization is something they will do ...soon™. Actually, on high settings its quite pretty.

other than that... the learning curve is pretty steep and there seems to be no tutorial. so get a guide. and hope its current. it probably is, updates are few and far between.

i wouldnt reccomend it, but i wouldnt say stay away either. if the game appeals to you, give it a try... just remember, refunds are only available if ownership is less than 14 days or playtime is less than 2hrs.

For some reason my review is gone ...
Sad to say the game was long abandoned, the website is offline, but nerdkingdome stopped selling on steam about 6 months after they wanted to import the game to antoher game engine.

"Early versions of 2.0 will go to existing TUG users, who will later be able to invite their friends who do not currently have access."

Hey guys, I can't find my TUG 2.0 download at any of my contact emails. Maybe you just forgot about me in... let's see here, AHHHH, Quarter 4 of 2016.

"Early Access Game"

Wait. How is a 1.0 release still an Early Access game?

"Visit the Website"

Hmmmm, NerdKingdom domain has expired?

@Steam, this is why you're being dragged through the mud with the media in the EPIC vs. STEAM bullshit. You have a perfect opportunity to make an example of these developers and the hundreds of others who have placed their overpriced Beta releases, Vaporware, and Phantomware on your site. Yet you do not. You continue to be just as anti-consumer as you're being accused of being.

THIS GAME WILL NEVER RELEASE AND YET YOU ARE ALLOWING THESE DEVS TO USE YOUR SITE TO DEFRAUD THEIR CUSTOMERS.

Is that clear enough for you? I get that the game is no longer "for sale" on your site, but any keys the Dev had before they went dark were sold to secondary key sites, like 2A amongst others. Those keys will be sold to unwitting consumers for as long as the store of keys remains. If the dev sees a resurgence in user numbers suddenly, often corresponding to either a media push or even something as simple as a new meme featuring their game's content, then they will most likely sell off even more of their held keys. Simply making them pull their sale tab down does nothing. It is a non-response to this issue.

Burn this page and Towns and every other EA/Greenlight game that has had 5+ years to deliever even a halfway working result and refused to do so. Burn them to the ground. Eradicate their presence and stop supporting their name in any way by continuing to host their bullshit. Take a nuke to them and everything they created and then explain to your users that it's the only way to stop giving them support and legitimacy. They had their chance to make good on their promises. It is Q1 2019. They had 2 1/2 years since Q4 2016. They haven't even made an effort to reply to their users.

Burn it all down.

Edit1: Steam chose to edit out 2A the first time I wrote this. They didn't even use 3 hearts over the three letters, no, they covered that space with 5 including even the spaces, making three words run together. They are determined to sanitize any mention of their criminal compatriots who resell bogus keys, including keys to these games which have had their store pages pulled.

So I have every one of my games organized in to categories. Action, RPG, City builder, etc. this one early on ended up in the folder I call S H I T for shit games I bought and could not return. When I played I could not even get passed 20 minutes before the game started lagging and nothing would help even though I met the requirements for this game. Needless to say I can't recommend it plus from what I hear the project is now dead.

Refunds should be given for this giant piece of shit. Every "early access" game either ends up being abandoned, or changes so far from the original that you no longer recognize it as the same game. Steam has enabled clowns like Nerd Kingdom to take people's money and run with this "early access" shit. I'm done with unfinished games. Fuck off TUG, fuck off NK, fuck off IGG, and you know what... fuck you too Steam.

FylgjaFox
FylgjaFox

The Company that developed this game is now defunct. The game feels like a very early alpha. I strongly recommend against spending anything on this game, unless you're really happy with the game as it currently is (Which falls far short of their kickstarter promises)

KingTaltia
KingTaltia

In the words of Shigeru Miyamoto, "A late game can be good someday, a bad game is bad forever." and sadly this is not the former.

"The Untitled Game" was kickstarted on Kickstarter, and had a lot of potential. Even the maker of the Minecraft Mod "Thaumcraft" would make a little tribute to add to the kickstarter. The Kickstarter was a success, and would come to Steam afterward.

Perhaps saddest of all of this, most people saw the first version of this Early Access version and thought "Doing pretty good for an Early Access" if I remember right. However what would come after was not as fortunate.

A few updates hither and tither, but eventually development stuttered, while there was some attribution to "Development Woes" the long and short of it is; "The developers to silent. and not the No Man's Sky "Silent to make a revolutionary update to pay back our good will.

Years go by, and nothing has happened. A stagnant game, devoid of much content, devoid of much fanbase, and in turn, devoid of a community to rejuvinate it with mods or anything.

The game cannot be purchased at current. Weird that it's still showing on Steam, but consider it a blessing.

If anything. May someone, some day, take what was good about this game's concept, from it's kickstarter page, from the community's hope. And make the game that this should have been.

I started to build some interest in this game when the Yogscast started playing it on youtube. I bought it and kind of put it on the shelf. I just noticed it in my library and was curious about how far development has gotten since I last saw it and it is unbelievable. This game is completely dead. Anything related to the developers has been taken offline. Sad.

Clunk Westweed
Clunk Westweed

Definitely DON'T bother. Had a little promise, but they really just took the money and ran with it, game has been dead for years now, and it's not in a completely playable state and nowhere near a full game.

*WARNING* Do not buy this game! This is not a "bad review", this is a warning that this game is unfinished, will never be finished or updated ever again and is a waste of money. *WARNING* Do not buy this game!

I urge Steam/Valve to flag this game. This is no joke, search for TUG the unfinished game and you will find a reddit post from July with a ton of details, links and facts about what exactly is going on. This is not slander. This is not attacking a potentially faulty company. This is a warning that this game is officially over.

I have been patient enough with this game and the company. Time to speak out and leave a review. The developers first backed out of steam and then stopped updating their game altogether and website. They even had an announcement of the end of their development. There is speculation of the company having changed their entire team and moved onto different projects sweeping this one under the rug.

It started off right. An open world adventure and building game based around a alien landscape with primitive technology. A lot of the features were fun to tinker with such as the crafting system which required you place the items on the ground or on a table in order to craft them into tools. The ambiance of the game was different and was looking forward to what the future of building would hold but do not get your hopes up.

I would be curious to see if a valid lawsuit could be filed against their blatant sales of a endlessly unfinished game. Maybe this was their intention from the stay as a "big con" and the title was the give-away all along. The Unfinished Game is what it was called and is what it will remain.

I have never given up hope for Cube World after all this time but I have no hopes for TUG.

Nothing to see here people, just a dead game, move along please....

Not even a news update on whats happening with the developers.

This game is dead. It hasn't been updated in at least a year and will never leave early access. It should be removed from Steam.

Terrible controls and crafting system. Not worth even installing. There are far better games out there with a similar premise.

Perhaps it was too ambitious. Perhaps it was just bad luck. But either way, NerdKingdom is gone. Au revoir.

EDIT: If you want to know the full story of what happened to NerdKingdom, check the TUG Reddit. There's more to the story than meets the eye. It was no simple scam.

Another scam. Bought it due to the scammy Yogscast back in the day. Plonk this in the bin with Cubeworld.

EcosVeros
EcosVeros

This game has been abandoned by the publishers. No updates, no changelogs, no words from the devs in years. What you have when you buy the game is what you get and this is it. Poorly optimized and sorely lacking in content, you will either find the learning curve and finish the game in about 3 hours or its starting complexity will have this game as a wasted investment for you.

Eran
Eran

A game with absolutely limitless potential abandoned by the devs. Absolutely do not buy- the dev's of this ghosted a passionate community in favor of working on a mobile game instead. There is no excuse for supporting them at this point.

ZippyMcZippo
ZippyMcZippo

This is a fine example of why "early access" is never a viable game model, and it should never be financially supported. A lot of interesting potential that never went anywhere, by devs that are seemingly con-artists.

GaliKsey

Bought this game hoping to see it flourish the way it was promised to. Came back several years later to find no new developments, upon further research I've found that they abandoned the game some time ago. This disheartens me as I am a fan of early access and like to support game producers through their build. I really want to love this game, but its all the bugs mentioned thin the video and none of the potential. I would not recommend buying this game, furthermore I'd happily give up my copy for a refund. "7,231 backers pledged $293,184 to help bring this project to life" from their kickstarter. This is shameful, criminal and unethical. The silver lining is that with the project being abandoned, they'll likely have to pay all that back.

Lornsteyn
Lornsteyn

Bought it 2015 and saw there downfall and vague plans for a comeback.
Its a shame this game never got finished because the Idea for the game was really great.
But Im still kinda thankfull, I learned only to back games with actual content and not dreams and promises.
I hope there will be good ways to make such devs accountable and pull back the money in the future, nobody should get away with fraud.

Just finally getting to wright a review,
Very sad that people made a good game and left everyone high and dry.

been hoping that they would keep working on the game, it has alot of potential, but just being stuffed into the trash, looks like there not ever going to work on it....

I feel like it was a cash grab like afew other people have done to people on steam.

Gripesta

I'm only saying you shouldn't buy this game, cause you probably can't, and even if you could, bear in mind that this game is gonna be how it is possibly forever, it's been shelved.

I bought this game after seeing the Yogscast playing it, and was instantly hooked back in 2014, the crafting style was unique and so was the art style, it was one of many to come games that you thought would be the next Minecraft, but failed to live up to expectations. I'm not bitter or blame the developers, I just wished that the vision that they had, came into fruition, I really enjoyed the time I spent with this game, fantasising the future of the game, and what I wanted to build next, but that just faded away over time, it's sad, but I guess that's just how it was meant to be, a seed that never blossomed. I do come back to TUG from time to time, but just knowing that nothing new will be added to it, just sullies the experience.
