WILL: A WONDERFUL WORLD is an atypical visual novel, as its main concept is to impersonate these two ''gods'' that affect the events in the life of humans. First of all, the writing has much more peaks than troughs, and most of the time it really catches the player, despite the repetitiveness of the gameplay (it consists of modifying events as if you were rearranging words and sentences of a letter).

Nonetheless, I think the plot has incredible twists, even though some of them seem to be too terrible to happen at the rate the game keeps throughout the story.
There are just two main flaws in the overall experience: first, the replayability is harmed by the fact that it is almost necessary to have decent scores in almost every section, and that the finale of the overarching story of the two main characters kind of defies the suspension of disbelief, as it is clearly a bit rushed and does not give the player enough time to understand what happens.

In the end, I suggest this game even if you are not a visual novel aficionado, as it is quite short and the plot is still extremely enjoyable.

This is a very interesting and unique game driven by an innovative concept and gameplay. This format allows for a variety of puzzles and endings, and encourages discovery through its many branching paths. All characters are unique in their own way, and allow for different perspectives throughout the story. The main story was paced as well as the rest of the game, and gave it all in gradual amounts. Overall, this game is a great game to relax with.

So far so good! Awesome idea with a good implementation. But can you plz remove the 5 sec wait when you unlock a new result? That would make it perfect!

I didn't think I would like this game as much as I do, but I love it! The game plays as a visual novel for most parts, but the main part of the gameplay comes from arranging letters sent to try and later the fate of the people you're trying to save. Until this game I'd never heard of such a thing, but I'm glad I gave it a shot. Paths can branch according to your choices and even alter other stories. I'd definitely recommend to this game.

I can strongly affirm that this game is a positive experience for me. While some of its themes might off a few's interests, it provides an aroma of Life itself.
– How we seem to do things wrong or how we do them right yet in a disorderly manner that inevitably still sets us up for failure. Or that adrenaline-pumped, rapid beating of our hearts in joy when we finally reach success and the feeling of lulling peace that follows afterwards.

Of course it's not that simple such as going right and left, left and left, right and right, or left and right.

Take for instance, Park Sang-gun, a child with a mental condition that was entrusted at a psychiatric ward, yet was abused by the chief doctor continuously. This ultimately led to him being a killer who has made it his duty to deliver vengeance upon the ones who take others' innocence. If someone becomes subjectively evil in the terms of law, could we really point at him and say that he is downright one of the most evil persons ever and it is his choice to be that way? I don't think it's that straightforward. Sure, we have the law but what about the criminals that get away with it? This is what drives the survivors to take it in their hands and commit "illegal" acts against those that have wronged them.

The game also mentions some rather curious points about fate. Not all endings are happy. It's brought a few tears to my eyes but nonetheless, beautifully written. Sad moments: not over the top. Good endings: definitely heartwarming. Soundtrack: beautiful. Characters: wonderfully sculpted and stories are immersive 10/10!

WILL: A Wonderful World / WILL:美好世界's creator Wang Miaoyi definitely deserves praise for a commendable job with this project. I hope to see more of her stories in the future.

She also gets + respect from me by declining the publisher Tencent. :v

Slight negatives of the game I would have to say are some pretty confusing puzzles and minor switch of sequences which lead to wholly different situations, especially for the impatient person. However, guides are available in Steam (go check it out if you are lost). When in doubt, clear every possible outcomes each branch.

Little gems shining on the side of the road waiting and praying for somebody to pick them up. We come across them and avert our eyes. Meanwhile someone is still waiting for a change in their destiny. I've waited quite a bit myself, for such creative indie title. I've waited on the side of that road watching stories that alone are just casual but together, they create new beauty. Imagination runs wild with many answers...

Sometimes an action story,
Sometimes a love story,
Sometimes a silly story,
And many others...

If there is a power and heart, it is within WILL: Wonderful World. Power that shines through simple words included in god letters. Letters filled with emotions, twists and great music. I just smile at the events happening, feeling it. It is actually quite different, that I am so engaged and compassionate. Just to help some characters that I barely know, yet I feel glad for them when they come to terms with their life, and move on. I can watch them move on, and see their future.

Little that we know about second reflection,
Closed in the room and reading letters,
Reflection of the little girl playing god,
Girl and dog in a world full of mysteries.

This game is really awesome. Story is really good, there's love story but mostly dark and disturbing. Setting in China, South Korea and a bit Mexico. I love the art design and music. English isn't my first language, but I feel the translation is good. The game play itself not really hard, just arranging the words and you will see the effect. When you play this game, looks like you only need 1 save slot. But if you want to see all endings, you need another save slot when the timer show up.

Overall, if you want visual novel with arranging the words, then you will love this game.

Probably one of the most emotionally heavy games I've read

You, as a god and your pet dog, get letters from people in mildly inconvenient (Horribly fucked-up) situations, and swap some sections around until everyone is happy while you bawl your eyes out.

The game doesn't really pull any punches in regards to its content, and it plays out like several depressing tearjerkers all at once, with some occasional levity. Should be warned that one arc in specific contains instances of child rape.

Sometimes it can feel like the game is going overboard or pushing too far into shock value, but overall so long as you can push through it it doesn't make the game inferior or become the sole focus of the story.

It's about 8-10 hours long, high recommendations to anyone who like story-driven games and can get through horrible, horrible things happening to people. Definitely something I'd have rather read than not. 8.5 or 9/10

My biggest feeling after playing this game is that its content warnings and ratings need updating. There is quite a bit of unavoidable graphic content (sexual assault, pedophilia, gang violence, etc.) that surprised me given that it was tagged with words like cute and casual. It's not that the themes and emotions are dark, its that there are detailed descriptions and images of characters going through these situations, and as there is no way skim, skip, or speed up the line by line playthrough of the story, it's actually pretty disturbing, especially considering there is no real indication of how far the story would go in showing these things. The cute little title card warning about **** scenes is insufficient and neither gives any indication of the nature of the disturbing content that will be shown nor strikes a tone that would indicate the extent to which such "**** scenes" would go.

The story is really the main focus of this game, both the stories of the people whose lives you are changing through the letters and the story of the gods you are playing as. Honestly the selection of lives that you follow is quite strange to me as they vary WILDLY in how serious/dark the events in their lives are. This causes some really jarring tonal shifts when you're playing, where you can go from something gory with life or death stakes to someone getting embarrassed in front of other people at school. It's not even necessarily the weight/maturity of the material always either, going from adrenaline packed situations to ones where you're dealing with more inner emotional turmoil definitely made me feel like I was being shunted around emotionally, and not in a good way. All of this is exacerbated by the fact that you do have to go back and forth between very different stories to get the game to progress, and while the idea that such little things and different people could be connected by some form of fate is compelling, the sudden shifts in tone did not enhance the experience at all. I did not mind the individual story writing (for the most part), even if I found it a bit pessimistic and overly reliant on disaster after disaster befalling these characters and even if there was way more gore than I thought was warranted. I'm willing to give it a pass with the idea that maybe since you avert the earlier ones, in terms of the person living their life it doesn't seem like there have been that many awful incidents in their life. The storylines were gripping and in almost all of the cases I was rooting really hard for the characters to pull through.

Negative feelings I had about plot choices mostly have to do with the teacher-student dating plot. I was really hoping it would go the father figure route and then it didn't and what with Sang-hyun's route(s) also being present I felt really icky. A 35 year old man and his 17 year old student???? no no no .

Overall, I would say play it if you're really into story based games and the content and sudden shifts in tone don't bother you. Otherwise, I would not recommend it.

Picture the scene: You are a god. People pray to you to solve issues in their lives. Their prayers come in the form of letters. You wield your godly powers through a pen, able to slice up their letters and re-arrange the text with someone else’s letter. Thus, you change the entirety of their fate and the outcome of the events detailed within the letters.

That’s the basic concept held within WILL, and it is a grand, novel concept. This is a visual novel in the vein of Ace Attorney, in that there’s plenty of logical deductions and puzzles to do. For you can arrange the outcome of a letter into various ‘endings’ that are ranked from S to E on the alphabetical scale, and even ‘x’ which donates a very bad ending.

Initially, the game eases you in with simple, trivial letters. Which is true to life, a lot of people pray to the divines for trivial stuff I suppose. The cast are varied, and come from multiple nations. The initial one’s hail from China, which should be no surprise as a Chinese development team wrote this one. If I'm not mistaken, the whole divinity part re: the letters and gods are apparently based in Chinese mythology. Regardless, there are characters hailing from Korea, Hong Kong, Mexico and even Great Britain. Everyone refers to you as their chosen deity, so you’re worshipped by Catholics, Buddhists and so on.

Later letters become more complicated, and new features are implemented as you go along. Eventually you could be changing two letters, one from the past and one from the future, and they can have a knock-on effect to other events in the future.

Naturally, a game about letters really does need to have superb writing, and I can happily say that WILL features some very good writing. You can see as much from the introduction sequence which is educational and hilarious in equal measure, though this is probably the first game that restarted the game as a penalty for not paying attention to the tutorial!

WILL breaks and leans on the fourth wall at times, it even has spots of comedy; one of your worshippers is a cat for crying out loud, and this comedy is vital for the following reason which I’ll explain here:

Think of who genuinely needs to pray to God? It is generally people who are down on their luck, or suffering. Ergo, expect to be seeing criminal issues including but not limited to, robbery, rape, kidnapping, sex and human trafficking, domestic abuse and even incidents of child sexual abuse.

And of course, you deal with those incidents, and the game is very much framed within the logic of the mythology and deity it establishes in its opening moments, you can’t just write these things away, some of these incidents are simply going to happen and you can only really lessen the impact or jiggle around it. So, this game isn’t really for the faint of heart – Indeed, I saw a few steam reviewers leaving negative reviews because they were so offended and shocked that such scenes were written into the game, which misses the point.

But I’m glad that WILL tackles them, because let’s face it if these things didn’t crop up, we’d be asking why? Why would a God be dealing with trivial issues every day and not some of the major stuff?

Anyway, I found the writing very compelling (though sometimes they did over-reach and get a little absurd), the gameplay puzzles interesting and the musical themes enjoyable and the plot-twist ending was rather smart.

WILL is a wonderful world and I highly recommend it to all visual novel fans, but also to any gamer and/or reader who wants to experience something unique.

This is an amazing and beautiful game.

The story is about a goddess , who is actually not a goddess, but something else as you will find out in the true ending . She has a faithful friend, a dog called Willy, who helps her to change the fate of humans. This goddess helps people by receiving their letter and changing the order of the sentences, so that the actual events change. There are a few people, who ask for her help and their letters have so to say ”the worst ending” before you change their contents. Some routes actually even depend on a worst case ending in a letter so that in the end you can achieve the best ending for the characters. Anyway, there are many paths to choose from, relationship-wise and action-wise, so you will be busy for a long time.

Actually, the protagonists in the letters can be divided in a few groups: There is Li Wen, Wen Zhaoren and Jimmy. Li Wen and Jimmy are students at the same high school, where Wen Zhaoren is their new art teacher. Then there is the killer Pi and the cat Spottie. There are brother and sister Carlos and Alicia. Additionally, there are also police officer Chang Gyeong-Min and Kang Baek-Ya. They all want very different things and sometimes it goes even as far as your decisions lead to them staying alive or dying (or that you need to go against their wishes in order to give them a happy future). I don’t want to go into more details here because you can read their stories in their letters.

However, what I can add is that this game actually combines a few genres together: While Li, Wen and Jimmy are the plotline of a so to say more or less typical romance K-Drama (and the choices don’t really make a lot of sense sometimes), Chang and Kang have a typical detective plotline with surprisingly a possible romance plotline as well and Alicia and Carlos and Pi and Spottie have more of an action story.

Anyway, the art is as amazing as the story telling and the game mechanic is. I really liked, how the background of the letters is animated and shows the shadow of the person, who wrote it. The shadow moves according to each person distinct personality. There are also CGs in the game: They appear, when you read the letters or, if you change the letters and there are new events. I think they suit the game very much, although I feel like some of them weren’t quite needed (mostly because it’s the same picture but with a different animation).

About the story telling: It’s very good because of the language, but also the plot. Although in some cases I found events to be a little unrealistic or kind of stupid for example in the last parts of Wen and Li’s plotline , most of the time I was very engrossed in the story and couldn’t stop playing the game. The characters storylines even depend on each other e.g. if you change the story of one character it completely might change the story of another character. Like e.g. you saving Jimmy leads to Pi being put in jail , which I found very cool. However, as I mentioned before, there were also some events that didn’t make sense to me e.g. when you need to stab Wen with a pen in order for Li and him to live and sometimes I thought there was a little too much unnecessary drama majorly in Wen’s and Li’s story because of the rapist and the whole teacher-student romance. And maybe the age gap, but that was rather one of the less dramatic things of their story . For me the endings were a little abrupt too, but I guess it was a good time to end things because I feel, if you go on with the story too much, it becomes boring at some point.

Moving on to the music, which I thought was really well chosen and suits the game very much. At the beginning, they tell you to wear headphones and I second this opinion. Because of the music you are pretty much engulfed into the game and I even forgot my surroundings, when I was playing it.

All in all, the entire concept of this game feels like a rather new and very good approach to visual novels. By creating a pool of characters with different stories (/genres) and mind-sets, combining them into different groups of people, who almost never interact with each other, and creating a goddess, which chooses their fate as the protagonist, we get to see visual novels from a new perspective. We get to play as the actual reader: In visual novels the reader decides the fate of the hero or heroine by making the choice, how they should act in some crucial situations. The reader forms their personality by those choices. Here we do something similar as the goddess by changing the letters, as we wish. But besides changing the fate of those people, we also get to read another story, now from the perspective of the goddess. It’s refreshing and a rather interesting way of storytelling.

Additionally I really like the idea that on one hand only small changes like changing the sentences in a letter without even changing the words in them can completely change the fate of a person and on the other hand that we should really be careful about (1) the development of technologies and (2) if we have an opportunity to choose things for other people to remember that we can actually make things worse (even if we give them a good ending). In the end maybe a person themself doesn’t really know, what they want and, if they get happy at some point doesn’t mean they can’t be miserable in the next moment: It’s rather funny in a very ironical manner that after you start helping those people with some trivial things their problems start actually getting worse and worse and I started to wonder at some point, whether it wouldn’t be for the best, if you didn’t do a thing. But then maybe they wouldn’t have been happy as well, I suppose.

Soo…

This game is about “A wonderful world” and a rather wonderful game. I’d recommend it for everyone, for me it’s a must-buy and must-read.

I'm not really sure I can recommend this game with full confidence, but since Steam doesn't have neutral review option, let mine be a positive one. Don't get me wrong — I really enjoyed this game through and through, but it's definitely not everyone's cup of tea. The whole idea of being a goddess, who can change people's lives through their letters, simply swapping sentences, is undoubtedly brilliant. You can see how even the smallest alterations could change characters' fates. At first you feel content and happy — hey, I'm making pixels' lives better! — but the more you progress through the story, the darker it gets. The game kind of warn you at the start about it, but I think it should give a clearer warning, because the story contains many, many triggers, such as: stalking, domestical abuse, ra pe, pedophilia, gang violence, dismemberment, depression, cancer, suicide, torture and so on. It's not a game about sheltering people from all evil, it's a game where you often swap the greater evil with lesser one. Of course, you can give the characters their happy endings, but even those are tainted with pain, losses and truly horrible (and unavoidable) things that happened to them in the past. It was hell of a ride, and I certainly don't regret buying this game, but I advise you to proceed with caution — it might shock you, and not in the kind way.

I have mixed feelings about this one, but overall I recommend it. The format is interesting, and the overarching plot is cool. But I didn't like a couple of the subplots like the teacher student romance.. and the. uh. child abuse route. could have been way less. graphic. Yikes.

Someone in one of the other reviews here said the saxophone music made them unable to take some routes seriously? yeah. same. Also this does kinda have a 'how can we make everything worse' theme running through it.. but at least the kitty gets a nice home.. and the toilet superpowers are lol.

So, uh, a hesitant recommend, if this is on sale and seems interesting to you? But if you're on the fence, probably don't.

Incredibly well made game: story-wise, dialogue-wise, visually, and auditory. Features very dark content, and a mysterious over-arching story. I haven't been so impressed by a visual novel since Mystic Messenger and Valhalla. This was the perfect game to play while moody and sad, and the simple game play requires quite a bit of attention so it's a great distraction from life in general. I am thankful to the developers. After finishing, I went and bought the limited edition on Switch, mostly for the plushie of Will!

Definitely a great game with immersive storytelling and it is a pretty great game that fits the label "Choices Matter" exactly.
However, I do suggest add the Trigger Warning to this game. This game contains highly CW/TW contents including raping and psychological disorders and hopefully developers can add TW in description sometime in the future.

Step Kick Kick Leap Kick Touch
Step Kick Kick…

Middle of the road recommendation. Story is all over the place, hard to follow what's going on at some points. The ending also left a sour taste in my mouth, even if it was cute.

I was able to brute force 99% of the logic puzzles, even on the hardest difficulty (no hints) because the game never really did much to make it difficult. I did enjoy the ones that had me think, like the morse code one, or the one that was a 3-way, but for the most part you'll be just fine doing trial and error. It never gets too complex.

But, when the game does work, it does work. I liked Carlos and his sister, especially their bittersweet endings. Or being able to find the cat a good home. His actual owner notwithstanding... And like I said earlier, some of the complex puzzles were fun.

Get it on sale if you like Chunsoft VNs and don't mind a game trying to imitate one.

Also, free Hong Kong.

This game is about changing destinies of the characters in the game, which is something I never knew I would love. I have some questions about the ending, mainly about what exactly happened within the time gap, but I think that the plot makes sense to a certain extent.

The CGI is lovely, and I like the simple background shadow of the characters when we hear about their stories.

If it's about the music, then I love them all. Unfortunately I do not have enough experience to talk deeply about this matter. The only thing I can say is that I love Carlos' first background music though.

So, let's just pretend that you are looking for a visual novel. You like a lot of genres but you don't know which one to pick.
Well, no worries. Because Will: A Wonderful World is here to the rescue. It literally has school romance, crime novel, chinese mafia and mafia wars, illegal immigrants, slavery, hitmen, rapists and pedophiles, child abuse, nerds, terminal illness, science fiction, adult magazines, mental disorder, SAW, LGBT, prison break and, most important, cats.
Seriously, this game has it all, but it also manages to efficiently put them all together somehow, making you as a god, whose purpose is to help those in need.
I highly recommend this game if you are searching for a lengthy visual novel with an overall complex plot.

Also, the soundtrack alone is worth the purchase

radd

This game should have had some content warnings; it portrays a lot of heavy themes such as torture, prostitution, mental illness, pedophilia/child abuse/CSA, mutilation and gore, suicide, and probably others I'm neglecting to mention.

The gameplay in WILL is fantastic. I love the mechanism of switching the story pieces around and seeing what happened. Some of the puzzles are pretty clever, involving uses of the story-switching mechanic to solve problems instead of change actions. I'd love to see more visual novel games use a mechanic like this.

I enjoyed the story and characters, for the most part. Each one has a unique voice, and I found the way the stories crisscrossed to be intriguing. The mishmash of genres from teen romance to cop drama to SAW-esque thriller was pretty fun, but it caused some strong tonal whiplash at points when you had two very conflicting types of letters crossing over for a puzzle to solve. Sometimes it was nice to have a lighthearted scene for relief, but very often it just felt strange and dissonant. The writing quality is pretty trope-filled and melodramatic, often lingering on gory imagery and wallowing in the miserable scenes the characters are submitted to. Even still, the cast is easy to get invested in and root for.

However, there is one specific character who makes it very hard for me to actually recommend this game. Spoilers ahead, content warning for child abuse/CSA: The character of Pi, and especially the abuse in his childhood letters, is depicted, bothered me heavily. The r*pe scene with the doctor while he was a child was a lot more graphically depicted than a scene like that should be handled, especially in a game like this. The fact that they chose THIS SCENE, specifically, to make a CG illustration of for your collection, is indefensible. Why would you draw a fairly graphic picture of the child s*xual assault!? Worse, the 'correct' answer that the game wants is to let the thing happen! There are options to prevent the r*pe, but you cannot continue to progress the storyline with those options. Being given an 'S' rank for allowing a child to be violated is pretty intensely gross-feeling! This character severely tainted my enjoyment of the rest of the game. There are also some issues to be raised about another pairing, a teacher/student relationship. Many of their scenes are heartwarming, but I wish it hadn't been written as a romance.

I'd love to be able to say everyone should play this game. The soundtrack is great, the game mechanic is clever and delightful to experiment with, the pacing is tight and never drags, and the story is, for the most part, competently written for what it is. But because of its handling of one character in such an insensitive and honestly disgusting way, I don't feel great about giving WILL a positive recommendation.

This game obviously takes inspiration from 428: Shibuya Scramble. Although I don't think the plot can be as good as 428, it's still a well written one. While not lengthy there's got a lot of intense moments, that can keep you wanting the next chapter. Some may think the story is too dark, (it has lots of criminal/depression stuff) I myself feels OK with those contents, although I'd agree that they don't have to put so many in.

The puzzle design kinda requires you to try all the combinations and get all results, and that makes me a little bit frustrated, since most of the DIFFERENT results are not that DIFFERENT. Of course you don't have to, but 1) there are many achievements related to the bad results, 2) later you'll find that the best answer may not always be the demanded one, and 3) a few chapters on you'll realize this is THE BEST way to play efficiently.

Overall recommended, this is a rare gem. If you like multiple protagonists and a intertwined story, definitely worth a try.

This game is an experience of a lifetime! If you have had any sort of doubts about playing this game, please go ahead and get it. It is a masterpiece, comparable to the many great works of art in media today.
The story telling is wonderful. it catches you on many fine points, and if you feel like you are struggling to stop reading, don't. Let it take you in and feed you a nice warm breakfast.
Yes, this breakfast does contain scenes of disturbing imagery such as torture, extreme violence, sexual content/ prostitution, and worst of all child endangerment( I. E. the "r. a. p. e." thing), it uses these elements to better fit the narrative of the world it has created. But if you find yourself uncomfortable with topics or taboos of this nature, you might want to research a bit before diving in.
The characters feel like real people leaving letters from long ago, rather than lines of code written for a game. As I have already gone through the whole thing on the Switch, I was once again drawn back into the world of silly gods pretending to be mailmen. But this game is definitely an EXPERIENCE that should at least be seen, if not played outright.

Basically, it's fine at first and has a fun premise, but the game slowly builds into an over-the-top, sometimes disgusting soap drama. Kind of expensive, too. Watch a play-through instead or something.

In this game you play as a goddess who rearranges the events in peoples' stories to get them out of sticky situations. The stories are presented to you in letter form.

If you're looking for melancholy/dramatic realistic fiction, you might be let down by some parts of the game. Near all of the characters' arcs become exceedingly bizarre, creepy, and unreal action that made it hard for me to become invested in them. However, the characters that are less about action and lean more towards realism do it well, until those go stale too.

The writing is very tight, and there doesn't seem to be any errors in translation or culture barriers. However, there are sometimes jumps in time in a letter that aren't directly told to you, and every once in a while there are illogical or random sentences that come out of nowhere in order to make the ending work. There are also several twists that the game reveals to you with different perspectives that keep you on your toes.

My personal favorite tales are the *siblings (before their stories get way too extreme). I liked how it was gritty yet relatively grounded in reality.

A lot of the same tropes appear in the game, like serial killers and jail. A ton of bad endings for events end up with you dying in some unforeseen way, and since you'll inevitably be seeing a lot of those, it can feel tired after a while.

Very importantly, there are some very concerning ideas about romance/sexuality. Don't let anyone play this if they are impressionable. A warning: there are many possible bad endings that end up with you getting raped, and there is a unavoidable child rape scene, what makes it even more gross is that the act is drawn...

This game gets way too out of hand in late game, so I probably won't finish.

The characters and scenarios in this game are really well cracfted, it was an emotional rollercoaster, with a really interesting message. I totally recommend this game if you like experiencing bitter-sweet stories.

The gameplay was very fun and exceeded my expectations. The story on the other hand, let’s just say don’t play this if you don’t plan on being sad afterwards, and not the good kind of sad either. Most of these characters have a very melodramatic story arc that makes me question how much of this is realistic and how much of it is the writer watching way too many crime dramas. Like really, none of these characters can stand 10 minutes in the middle of the street without getting kidnapped. I could write an entire essay on each individual character arc and why it doesn’t work but I like to keep my review short.

Even though this game started out very strong and interesting to me, I can't say I would recommend it. It left me quite disappointed.

First of all, the biggest flaw I find with it is the fact that it DOESN'T have any trigger warnings. I'm not even talking about the great level of gore (which there is A LOT of) but of the DISTURBING amount of SEXUAL ABUSE (and no, only including "sexual content" isn't enough, there needs to be a trigger warning)!!! What's even worse is the fact that one of the CGs explicitly shows a child being ra***. Really? THAT is what they decided the CG to be?! The worst part is that this specific scene happens out of nowhere and it can't be avoided by the "choices" if you want to continue the story!!

Speaking of choices, although this game advertises itself as having many choices to be made that MATTER, the climax of the story very much suggests that everything you kept doing for the entire game was pointless since all the characters whose fate you change are already dead anyway, so your choices certainly DON'T matter (at least not in the long run). In fact, before you even get to the climax, there even are times when "the best outcome possible" isn't actually the best but it is MANDATORY to keep the story going (the child r*** scene being one of those). Even taking the story's climax out of the way, many of the endings for the characters felt pointless... there was such an excessive amount of melodrama, violence and tragedy that, more often than not, the characters were destined to suffer no matter what. I understand that expecting a happy ending for every character wouldn't be realistic, but many of the scenarios were already implausible enough with how unlucky the characters were. The characters just couldn't catch a break and sometimes the awful thing that happened to them was excessive and for the sake of getting a reaction out of the player. Even with all that, I still cared for them much more than the god girl and the dog. Despite being the "true main characters" of the story, their background and "twist" came so late into the game that I couldn't care less about them since I wasn't as emotionally invested in them as I was with the characters' whose fates I had to change.

Last, but not least, while the puzzles are an interesting concept and started out very fun and unique, they slowly began to lose their strength and became confusing. I had to recur to a guide since a lot of the possible outcomes for the puzzles weren't very straightforward and, in fact, involved more wild guessing than thinking!! A character could either escape death unscathed or lose an arm just because they moved to the right before shaking. A character could freaking die just because it rained. What?

The art and the music were very charming and the first part of the game truly is captivating and draws you in. However, the charming spell this game offered initially broke for me as I started to see all the issues I mentioned before.

WILL is quite creative in it's mechanic for a visual novel, and an excelent choice if you are searching for one and just don't know what kind to pick. That said it might not be a game for everybody, as it is explicit on sensible content and doesn't shy away from bittersweet or plain tragic endings. But if you have a knack for the melodramatic and piecing together every detail of what you read, I think you will like experiencing this game.

So, I bought this game 3 days ago...and today I can say that I've 100% finished it. This being the first game I've ever completed 100% should already tell you how much I enjoyed it.

There were some hiccups here and there (Like the fact I couldn't skip text I've already read. But honestly this was mostly my fault for being dumb), but honestly this game was so enjoyable I can overlook anything. The music was amazing and added to the emotion of the game very well. The 'main' characters were all for the most part likable (minus certain situations in which I wanted to grab them and shake some sense into them), and made the whole game that much more enjoyable. I wouldn't have tried to give them all a good ending otherwise.

I didn't realize I was signing up for so many emotions when I bought it, or that I'd get so attached to the game. Honestly, I didn't wanna exit the game once I completed it, because I knew I'd probably never open it again afterwards (Unless I feel like replaying it some time in the future without any hints...though I'm not sure if I will. I want the memory of me playing it to be from my first experience with it). I didn't want to part with everyone, but I had done everything I could...so I'm content.

Also the diversity in this game made me so, so happy. From nationalities to preferences to sexuality, it all felt natural and diverse which, honestly, I wasn't expecting and found to only add to how much I connected to and enjoyed the game.

I recommend this game to anyone who 1) likes mysteries and uncovering them, 2) likes visual novels and 3) to anyone who likes an emotional story. I can't be happier that I chose to browse Steam 3 days ago before going to bed, otherwise I would've never found this gem.

did not play this game for long so dont judge me if write something wrong.

The gameplay is simple yet you still have to think for a bit before choosing the order of the words. I cant say its bad, because its not, is just really restrictive at the start to the point of not wanting to play the game.
SPOILER FOR THE BEGINNING
Lets look at the situation at the start of the game: Our "Female protag" is wery scared because of suspicious messages and presents near her door, so while hearing he footsteps near her she pushet someone down the stairs. This someone does not move, so you think he is dead. Meanwhile some guy is trying to commit suicide. Here we have only one text bubble to move that helps our female protag and the suicide guy. "So whats the problem?" you might ask. The thing is: I dont want to help the guy, but if i dont do so, the girl will kill the other guy... And such things were following me for an hour. "I dont want to help this guy, but if i dont do so, then the character i love will suffer". combining this with the "S" rank grading you become annoyed, because the game says that my decision is not right, it tries to convince me that i have to help everyone whether i want it or not because "its right".
For these exact reasons i dont really want to play this game.
Despite all that its not a bad game, its just not for me. If you want to help everyone, hear good emotional dialogues- this is a game just for you.

i had a lot of fun playing it, the plot and ending are amazing and i adore the characters. the art is beautiful too, i would stare at the art while i was in the middle of playing and just admire it. and seeing a few gay characters was unexpected but Very appreciated, i love seeing gay rep in games! my only problem with the game would be the student teacher relationship, but other than that its perfect. one of my favorite games :)

I'm leaving this review solely to warn people that this game involves topics such as child abuse, human trafficking, depictions of suicide and even sexual abuse. There is no warning either in the store page or the game that these topics would be touched. Despite interesting puzzle mechanics, I can't bring myself to support a game that brings up potentially triggering topics such as those above without giving a warning.

This visual novel has a rather unusual structure - it's a story within a story. The main character is a girl called Myth, who has the power to change people's fates by re-arranging sentences in the letters she receives from them.

For example, the first thing she does is move a sentence in such a way that the light bulb goes out in the alley, rather than the tennis court. As a result, the story's protagonist takes a different route home and makes a fateful encounter... There are about 10 main characters in the game, each with their own story arc. These occasionally cross, and you usually need to move text fragments between two letters.

Different combinations result in different outcomes, and many of the achievements are tied to unlocking every single ending. In the first half of the game, the goal is to find the best ending for both characters involved (the S ending). However, in the second half it is occasionally necessary to pick a "less than optimal" ending in one of the previous letters to unlock the best possible "ultimate outcome" for that particular protagonist. In addition, some of the later letters require puzzle solving.

Once you resolve all of the letters, the mystery of Myth herself comes to the fore: Who is she, where is she living, where does she come from, and why has she lost her memory? The answers to these questions will surprise you...

One last thing. This game is in the same league as "This War of Mine", "Life is Strange" or "Papers Please". In other words, it tries to make the player think about serious issues, even at the cost of making them uncomfortable. If you read some of the negative reviews, you'll notice that many are in the vein of "We didn't expect mentions of suicide, murder, torture, child molestation and human trafficking! Why isn't there a trigger warning?!"

However, I don't think trigger warnings are necessary in this case. The text descriptions of the horrors are relatively brief, while the devs seem to have taken special care to ensure that none of the occasional full-screen images and sound effects contain anything potentially triggering. So unless you have an over-active imagination, you should be fine. More importantly, the "moral compass" of the writing is never in any doubt - none of the reprehensible activities are in any way condoned, or presented as "morally ambiguous".

This is one of the best games I've ever played, hands down. Pleasant visuals and sound, stellar writing, and even an occasional bit of surrealist humour (such as one of the protagonists getting a weird superpower in the end) to "dilute" all the seriousness a little. Do yourselves a favour and buy it - it's an unforgettable experience. I wish there was a part 2...

mm yeahhh!!! game has interetnting concepts but falls flat on storytelling

hello as a play for only 2 hours there is still much to see for me. please excuse my stemch,,,...

this game theme for to me is CHOICES and COINCIDENCES!!

how one action affects the next. sometimes things can lead to wonderful encounters or painful deaths or traumatic experiences.

i think ppl who deal with a lot of "what ifs" will enjoy this game. and maybe can forwards a bit.

the game is unique cos instead of like traditional VNs where selecting options lets you go forward, in this one, you rearrange and swap text and that changes the past, present and future of the characters,

where it falls flat is STORYTELLING- everything is super sad just to get reactions of people and some makes no sense at all. i wish they would mix the sad with some good. no spoiler but u will see what im talkings about.

id like to see this kind of concept done with a better storytelling,

overalls, i rate this game as a 8/10!

While I enjoyed the game mechanics, this game seriously needs to come with several warnings that it does not. There's nothing on the game page or in most of the comments that mentions this, so I feel like I should warn you all about it. Trigger warnings for suicide / suicidal ideation, depression, human trafficking, stalking, domestic abuse and violence, child sexual abuse, and others. These are just off the top of my head.
It's absolutely an interesting game, I will give it that, but some of the scenes are illustrated and I had to stop playing after a graphic depiction of child rape. I haven't been able to pick it up since. If you think you can stomach it, and you're ready to face that sort of thing, then by all means, but I cannot in good conscience recommend this game when it has no warnings as to the kind of content it deals with, beyond the standard ratings.

For the fair price of this game, I was expecting to have a 5 characters story but apparently there are more characters that can be unlocked during the story progression which is an excellent surprise for me! I like the puzzle element included in this game-- they become quite challenging later on, and I always have the urge to get all the ending variations per letter. The small details they put on every ending depending on which 'fate' we want is really interesting.

Ever had any questions about something? No worries, this game characters are mind-reader, they provide answer the moment you say that lol.

As we have the power to swap fate between a cat and a human, a cool action scene can be switched easily into a comedic gag (remember the gun and salted fish lmao) according to what we "god" wishes. While 75% of the story is funny, never forget that our role as god is "tampering/saving" with people's live. A script can turn dark easily while being portrayed... casually. Do take note while I say 75% of it is funny, that includes the death. The way they die over stupid mistake/action... like tennis ball.

But on a serious note, I do agree that this game needs more trigger warning, especially when you play with a very sensitive area like suicidal attempt, gore, assassination, murder, child rape, human trafficking, mental illness, and a creepy serial killer as your stalker. Since I judge a book by its cover, the cover illustration doesn't give enough signals of how dark the story can be. PLAYING MIND GAMES WITH A SERIAL KILLER DOESN'T GIVE YOU ANY PEACE OF MIND  ESPECIALLY WHEN YOU GET A THREAT MESSAGE THAT SAYS I WILL FIND YOU WHICH ALSO INCLUDES A SHRIEKING VOICE IN THE MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT

PROS:
- Very witty and clever script writing... to the point of breaking the 4th wall sometimes xD. Makes me wonder how the original Chinese version script would sound/look like.
- Great artwork. Also love the simplistic yet beautiful design of the UI/UX. Interface looks really clean and neat. Special plus when you have different changes in graphic and music at main menu when you unlocked good ending.
- Great BGMs. Special kudos for trying to include character's voice based on the their nationality. Do note that it is only voiced for certain catchphrase whenever 'a character is in spotlight'. It is by no means a full-voiced visual novel.

CONS:
- Sometimes it's hard to remember the minor NPC names, especially the Korean characters and gang names lol.

Things that can be better:
- More trick and hidden quest, or at least one epilogue to really conclude the story. This can be a good reward after clearing the game even more than just hunting for album/achievement completion.
- The intertwining fates between characters are interesting, but I wish they can become more connected than the current implementation. Having different timelines can add a more interesting element to how two or more characters would meet up somewhere, someday. As for now, it feels like Chang and Kang are the only one detached from the rest of the cast. Well Pi did kill Jeagal, but how did he get to Korea anyway??
- I do feel like a few of minor playable characters Rocky, Hotaru could be changed to someone with bigger influence to the story? There are lots of minor NPC that might be better to put extra story in.

Overall, I really like this game. It's unique and I ended up spending more time having fun with this game. Really wish to have WILL 2 or any future games by this developer. I can see this game as a product really well-done!

Why bad in the help text talking about bad ending is in quotation marks puzzles me; how many times will people mix up morally bad and bad as in unpleasant? In any case both kinds of bad do exist so there's no need for the scare quotes. I found the game to jump between minor school things and serious crime things too much and the detectives' exploits to be like something out of Starsky and Hutch. It can be difficult at times too to know what options to go with and the game does tell you how this and that works but you're certainly not in for an easy time even if you do understand the mechanics.
Given what words keep appearing in quotation marks it feels like it's pushing an atheist message such as the girl saying there isn't any absolute right or wrong (really? So murder and kindness are the same?).
Heh, I got the last achievement with only 10 seconds to spare. No need to spend hours replaying the game. Phew.

Do you see the hours I have? Yes, I may or may not have replayed the game multiple times (and maybe not really because I thought I had to restart it)But for the story of each character, you really need to pull through everything (maybe also follow a guide) but seriously. The music? Amazing. The characters? Amazing. The art? Amazing. Lovely game with beautiful art, great music, and a healthy dose of traumatic experiences that you assist characters in moving on from (or through). This is a different take on VN genre. Instead of playing through the same story over and over to unlock different paths, you can go back and change the course of events, affecting the things that happen afterwards.
I will leave discovering the actual story up to you.
There's a warning about things being 'f-ed up' which I didn't really understand when I first started playing the game. Everything seemed fine and the story was PG-13-rated at best. But then, you start to discover darker sides of the characters and at some points you think to yourself: "what the f- is going on? I didn't sign for this". But this made me like the game even more.

Definitely recommended if you liked DDLC.
Also, music is top-notch, very enjoyable, and it's something that I did not expect.

Shinjuku
Shinjuku

I'm giving the game a thumbs up because I know it was made by one person and the dev put a lot of effort into making this game, so I'm thankful for that.

I expected a lot from this game and maybe that was my fault. I think it might be due to the translation from chinese to english but I found the writing to be super light and casual which kept me away from engaging with the stories. Previous to this game I played Fata Morgana which has an amazing writing and get easily hooked with the stories. So maybe in chinese this wouldn't felt so flat, I found myself rushing the game when I was near the end rather than savoring it. So for the next game I'd focus on how it translates into english.

The other thing was the lack of drawings, only the key moments have one, otherwise there's a plain color with a silhouette of the character. That's unfortunate because the art is beautiful, I really enjoyed watching Pi, Spottie, the cops, etc. so I wanted more of it.

The music is good but you wouldn't want to listen to it again and again but it was good.

The macro story could've been hinted more often, I felt like it was rushed towards the end. It needed more climax, hints to the reader so it can elaborate theories about what's going on.

I really hope this feedback could help the dev because I know there's a new game on the works and I'd support you as I did with this one. ♥

tl;dr: Poorly written manhwa with an interesting concept don't spend your money on this.

Interesting concept but with shitty writing. The plot is only just a bit deeper than your average porn manhwa and it only depends on something bad happening to somebody. I think the developer thinks the story is "Tragic" (Warnings at the start say "You should take a tissue with you" but it's just a complete utter shit show. I don't know man seeing someone's 4920384092nd death isn't sad or shocking it's just lazy writing. If only the game stuck with the lesser problems just like in the tutorial chapters it would be that small heartwarming visual novel with an interesting concept.

Satan-sama
Satan-sama

First off, I have to say and put up a gigant warning, because this game deals with a lot of heavy themes including, but not limited to kidnapping, murder, sexual abuse, family abuse, torture etc. It's kind of a Madoka Magica of visual novels, looking like cutesy, easy to approach and simple fun, but it isn't and the dark themes come out rather quickly. So it's not for somebody who either god forbid experienced any of the things, or just is not ok with them.

Now. When we have the warning finally done I can write about the game. It took me exact 15 hours to finish all achievements. I do read pretty fast though, so I assume it would take approx 20 h on avarage to finish the entirety of Will. Game has a really nice story, or rather, a lot of different plots that intersect with eachother, including one main plot of, well, main character. But suprisingly this one is kept rather back, unfolding rather late in story. It is one of not that many visual novels I played, and I can say it's good. And to add to that, it has a really good soundtrack that really fits stories it represents. It's definitely worth that 13 or 10(I think in a sale) bucks for such experience. I can't write much without spoiling the plot, and with spoilers it would be absolutely pointless. Overall, simply put, the game is rather cheap, it's a truly interesting experience and definitely worth playing through. If you like good stories with rather heavy topics definitely pick up Will. Or if you can tolerate such topics I can guarantee you won't be dissapointed in this game.

TLDR: Pick up the game if you can handle heavier topics, becaue game has a decent amount of those, and you surely won't be dissapointed. Good story, rather long for w visual novel, really good soundtrack... Just get it if you can handle topics I mentioned above.

One of the best puzzle games ever made as far as I'm concerned. The story is engaging and heart wrenching at times, and puzzles are challenging yet fair, with every failure giving you another interesting piece of narrative that you wouldn't experience in any other game. This game really knows how to hit you in the feels. There are times where you feel giddy and happy, others where you feel sick to your stomach, sad, etc. You will get attached to at least one or two of the characters because you get to see them all at their lowest and highest points. A deeply rich narrative psychological thriller in which I've cried many times within the short amount of time I've spent playing it. The game does a good job of emotionally connecting you to its cast and leaves you questioning whether your good choices actually hurt or help in the long run. Its merciful in its game play where it allows you to go back and retry as many times as you'd like to unlock all possible outcomes, which is nice because sometimes the logic is confusing.
Overall, the UI and writing of the game are both beautiful and make an engaging experience.

SuccHunter

The writing of this game has no chill. I expected some light hearted wacky hi-jinxes, but got non-stop life-or-death crime drama, psychological thriller, horror, soap opera, and many other genres in what is effectively a genre soup of a game. This is only possible due to the unique premise of the game itself, which lets you peer into the lives of around 10 different characters and change the outcomes of their key life events. The writing is quite good, to be able to spin so many plot threads and weave them all together in such strange and unique ways. Each character really did feel like unique people with their own lives, thoughts and feelings. Let's just say that if you were to give me a random letter from any single one of them without telling me who, I would be able to tell you which character that letter is from just from the way they speak or act. That's how distinct they are. Overall, this makes for a very immersive and emotionally absorbing experience. Halfway through the game, I had become really invested in almost every single one of these characters, simply due to the fact that I got to follow them through some of the most emotional and stressful days of their lives, learned about their backstories, and saw the world through their eyes. I got to know them better than they knew themselves. Each time you check in on them it feels like you're checking in on an old friend, who you haven't seen in a while and want to know what's up with them.

However, this game is not without flaws. The biggest one is that it sometimes makes misery seem almost cartoonishly funny. Every single letter you read leads to some horrible ending at first, before you can change it to be better. A side effect of this is that even some of the most fcked up shit that the game throws at you becomes almost droll after the 30th letter or so that you've read. It's like a the characters are constantly in a competition to see who can outsuffer who, or who can die more horrifying deaths than who. Another flaw is that the game sometimes stretches your suspension of disbelief a little too thing. Some events are so absurd that they just shatter it completely, and the story turns from an interesting drama into a comedy skit. Fortunately, these moments are few and far in between, but when they happen, they really make you do a double take.

Fair warning though, this game is pretty edgy and definitely not for the light-hearted. It really pulls no punches when depicting sensitive topics such as torture, death, rape, gore, etc... Many of these characters' stories take place in the seedy underbellies of various countries of the world, so these topics are a given, but I didn't think the game would go for this much gritty realism. It adds a lot of flavor to the experience.

rubynxt

I had high expectations for this game since it had so many rave reviews. It has a great concept and mechanics where you change the future by swapping sentences around. Unfortunately, I was let down by the stories. The game aims for the low-hanging fruit of strong negative emotions and shock factor.

I could accept that the stories were mostly depressing even after you alter them, since that aligns with the in-game philosophy that you can't truly give everyone a happy ending even as a god. But I couldn't accept the very graphic child sexual abuse scene.

There really was no good reason for the graphic description and CG (?! ffs why) of a child getting raped/sexually abused, and even worse is that the player can't do anything about it. This was the final straw that pushed this game into Not Recommended. I'm extremely disappointed because it had such interesting mechanics and some of the stories were actually fine (e.g. the police stories). But I cannot with any degree of good conscience recommend this game.

While a bunch of messed up things happen to various characters throughout the game, at this point I finally realised this was probably the "**** scene" that the devs were cheerfully warning us about in the loading screen each time you boot up the game (be sure to shout loud enough for your neighbours to hear!). If you were going to include it, why not just spell it out? It's strange that the devs chose to censor the warning instead of the actual scene. I suppose it's a mature game so Bad Things happen, but it's obvious from multiple signs that the devs were a little too delighted in creating this particular character and their backstory.

If you still want to try out the game for the mechanics, the offending scene appears mid-game, about 10 hours in.

This is such an emotional, challenging, beautiful story. It makes you think about the ways that lives connect with one another and how consequences reverberate through time and space. If you're looking for a way to remind yourself or someone else that your choices matter to both you and others this is the game.

I bought this game on a whim and I didn't expect it to be this good. I finished it in just a few days because I had trouble putting it down!

Peachie

Picking the "right" choices seemed pretty arbitrary and got worse and worse as the game went on. Considering that is the main mechanic of the game, I didn't continue playing. It ended up feeling like just trial and error or guessing instead of a real puzzle.

"If everything is destined, what is the point of free choice?"
I really like this game. Act as the "God", change other people's destiny. That's really funny. Every character is connected with each other in this game, and they share multiple endings in this game chosen by the player, too.The music is perfect and suitable, too.
For me, this game is perfect. I think the only shortcoming of this game is too short, some of the characters, like Carlos and Alicia, the sister and the brother, their ending is fantastic, but it is obviously the story shouldn't end here. About the connections between Pi and Korea Police left unknown. Some people may think some story is draw a forced analogy for the player, but the defects do not obscure the virtues.
I would strongly recommend you to play this game, if you are a ADV or Visual Novel Lover. There is no doubt this game absolute worth you play. It will not fail you expectations.

Light Yagami- Step Aside! *throws away death note*

(I mean I was a better God than him with the pen and notebook in this game. ;)
Prelude: You have no memories but there is a talking dog. You are trapped in a single house, cannot get out. Out of the window you see that it is always snowing, always. It never stops. The dog tells, hey man you are a god now. So do this sh*t and that. Energized by the Osmanthus cake and tea, you do your job with no money rewards but personal happiness.

Step into the abode of this very unique, and creative visual novel and play God and change people's fate, but don't forget, no one knows who you are and you also don't know. What a wonderful world indeed! Fair warning though if you are sensitive to issues concerning pedophilia, child sexual abuse, domestic violence, suicidal tendencies, harassment and stalking, you might have to turn this game down.

Well, let's get into the pros and cons:

Pros: Story 100, Characters 100, Music 200, Creativity 1000, Smart Devs 100
Cons: Illogical extremely hard puzzles at the end, No skip button, Reading without pictures

Story

Story is mysterious, fascinating and is a lot. It did reminded me of Paranoia Deliver Me, a little bit. But it was different in many ways. I think talking about a story is an understatement here, it's honestly more like "stories" of at least 10 different characters and how they combine with other characters and you analyze, read and create various possibilites which will change their fate. Yes. It is a lot, mind you. The choices you make will undoubtedly will make you carry a huge guilt or not. For me it did, especially with the small boy, when you progress through that arc, you will have an immense sense of responsibility. The story also starts very happy, cheerful or pretty neutral but as you go on, in a second it does a 360 and becomes way more psychological, complicated, traumatic and overwhelming. Overall, there are two main endings for the mysterious protagonists which is not that hard to achieve. Each interconnected scenario has several different endings which you need to find and progress the story. My favorite arcs would be Li Wen's and the teacher's one. The story has elements of forbidden relationships, childhood trauma, cat troubles, mafia, revenge, police and crime. The story at the very end, is left in my personal opinion as a tragedy for all the characters except the feline. Also the character stories just stops abruptly with rushed endings which is very disappointing. I also felt that the novel character stories are way more powerful than the main characters, they overshadow them.

Gameplay
Please note that right off the bat I used the "lunatic mode" to judge the puzzles.
Gameplay ofc is the unique aspect of this VN, you can choose a scenario on your own without the scenario being handed over to you automatically, you can also switch it as you will. When you choose a respective node of a character, you play the scenario in a fashion that sentences are given in boxes and you can change the order of them and then depending on he order, you create a new probability and then get an ending. This was quite enjoyable at first but then the Devs throw you chunks of very difficult puzzles which includes: Morse Code, Directions and god forbid one puzzle where it did not make any logical sense at all. I never ever uses guides to solve puzzles, but I did on this one. Puzzles are easy at first but at the very latter, it's way too illogical for me to understand. Maybe in easy mode it's okayish, but I kinda doubt about this. Also to recieve more prayer letters you must change the other endings of the characters on your own which is like, choosing one node from infinite number of possibilities. That is insane. The game had a difficulty already set for you right on the start, so don't underestimate it even if you play easy mode. Also there is a timed puzzle at the very latter as well.

Characters
There is no racism in this VN, characters are from various nations, different personalities and a cat is also there. Characters are very amazing in this VN, there are 10 different characters with very unique stories and personalities. There is the nerd, cute mexican, the psycho, the suicidal one, cheerful girl, the vengeful one, the one with the other side and the determined police rookie. YES OF COURSE and the CAT. Can't forget that one. Apparently yes, gods bother with cats too. All lives are lives. There are dozens of side characters too which adds up to the 10. My favorite characters are Li Wen and Pi. Pi though, I think out of sympathy and concern. Li Wen, she is a great strong girl. I also love Carlos he is amazing. Pi's story is the saddest and most traumatic to the player, other stories are kinda common scenarios . The MPD case ofc is pretty unique, my favorite disorder and not largely represented in games or movies. Character progression and growth is pretty good but of course everything comes into a halt and all get neutral or sad endings. The whole thing is a tragedy. For the cat only I think the good ending was given. Of course excluding the novel characters there is you and your talking doggo. At the very end , your true story is revealed. Tbh, there is no background much for the characters so they didn't interest me much. What is the most expected thing I wanted from this game was that at one point all the characters being thrown into a scene or something, that's what I expected but nope. But hey life does not go the way you want.

Music and Art
Music is very very good, it has latin pieces, mexican vibes and other amazing ones. There is no racism in this VN not one bit. The art is minimal, good for the Devs. But the CG pieces are good. The story is not fully voiced but when you recieve a letter and click it, the characters give an exclamation. But then the characters are from very different backgrounds and countries so you can make a logical excuse for that. That is smart of the devs. I know that there is a picture for me in this VN, where it violates the phrase :A picture means a thousand words, but for me it became a meaning of thousand stories in one single picture. So amazing and beautiful.

Achievements
Achievements are straightforward idea in this VN. You just have to find all endings for all nodes. But the challenge comes when you have to collect some CG and some dictionary phrases after the ability is unlocked that you can connect endings and unlock new scenarios. My best advice is pay attention to everything, write them down. I personally did.

Overall
Possibly the dark souls 1 of all VN's. It has amazing music, story but the gameplay gets pretty insane and illogical at the very end. Hope there is a continuation for this. Love you Pi. I hope you lead a happy life with Spottie.

My playtime doesn't show it, but I have finished this game. I 100%'ed it on Switch, then bought it again here so I could have the OST on my computer. This game is amazing. It isn't perfect, but now Visual Novel is. Sometimes the required choice to get a good end doesn't make perfect sense, but with as many events as there are, you don't really notice.

My only issue is that the song "Whispered Feeling" isn't in the OST, and I don't know where else to find it.

Breathtaking story. Illuminates the connection of people's fates, and unintended consequences of actions.

A very entertaining visual novel to play through. The premise is simple: You read letters and go through multiple stories following the perspective of different characters, something goes badly for them, and you try your best to assist them with their problems.

The stories all deliver a multitude of satisfying experiences: There are funny, emotional, gripping, action packed and even scary scenes throughout. The game is very well written in those aspects

The biggest issue i had with the game, is that i found the overall conclusions for almost every character extremely unsatisfying, to the point that once the game was beaten, it simply felt like something was missing to give everyone some closure. For example, some character's stories start with them stating what their goal is, but as you go through the game, their story takes a different turn(although their goal doesn't change), and by the end...we never see those characters reach that goal. It feels like it became a waste of time, in a way.

Besides that, i felt like most characters's stories by the mid to endgame are completely ignored to favor 2-3 narratives who keep pilling letters upon letters, leaving you to sometimes wonder: ''What are these 5 other characters even doing, now that they're not writing anymore?''

Besides these negatives, i felt the journey was entertaining enough to leave this as a positive review. I simply wish the closure was better.

Played this on the Switch originally and it quickly became one of my favourites, if you don't mind some dark themes please at least give this a shot, one of the most innovative gameplay wise and engrossing VN's i've had the pleasure of playing in the last few years.

Spoiler-Free, but this game ain't for the faint of heart. The title and the pleasing visuals are misleading for the type of shite that happens in the game.

Pros
It has a genuinely interesting mechanic when it come to gameplay. Cutting and rearranging the 'fate' of people in order to get the right outcome can really get your head scratching. The visuals aren't very present, (It's a visual novel what do you expect) but the visuals that are there are well made. Well... except for one... The story can be pretty good as well, tackling the drama of seemingly disconnected stories at the same can be overwhelming at times but it can get interesting with how each character reacts to the situations they're in and the situations you create. On top of that, the characters are many and diverse, seeing them all and anticipating what comes next can bring you to the edge of your seat even if you're just reading it. But there's a pretty big problem with said story...

Cons
Oh my god the story. As I said before this game isn't for the faint of heart. It tackles very heavy themes and can get overwhelming especially if you're going in blind. Pacing can be a problem too. The emotional whiplash you'd feel after watching the most disgusting thing illustrated on-screen in the game to reading about someone's high school love story is neck shattering. The topics that each character's story centers on can sometimes be cute or funny, other times it's downright sadistic, and it feels like the writers made these purely for shock value at times. Call me a wuss, but I think that the writer handled the themes in the story a bit poorly.

Overall, I think this game showed a lot of potential, from the game design, to the visual design, even to the characters themselves. But the story, while it is pretty good, handles it's dark and sensitive subject matters too poorly for my tastes. Nevertheless the parts that don't gross me out is pretty compelling. I recommend this game if you like reading many different stories, and are not sensitive to dark stuff like I am.

oh my god. how did this game get such good reviews? this game should give us trigger warnings. the game showed a DRAWING of a young boy getting raped, VERY EXPLICITLY DRAWN, accompanied by the child's horrible scream, his despairing thoughts, and the total inability by the player to prevent that from happening. i thoroughly want to vomit. and the game is boring cuz you can't really change any of the stories, all you can do is try to get an "S" ending (i.e. the "correct" ending) for all of them and so it gets repetitive real fast. and the fact that the developers jokingly said "when shocked while playing the game, please scream loudly and disturb your neighbors" while warning us about **** scenes which i now know is rape scenes, it makes me sick. you have to tell us that there will be rape scenes. and tell us that there will be ILLUSTRATIONS of rape in the game. currently, i feel horrible and wish i never came across this game.

Renpai

QUICK WARNING: This game has just about as many triggering topics as you can imagine all shoved into one game. If you have any kind of triggers or can't stand unhappy situations or story's without happy endings. This is NOT the game for you.
However, if you are alright with seeing the worst of humanity. This a fantastic story.

This just might be my most favorite game, ever. (Mild Spoilers for topics below but no details) It delves into the sort of scenarios that could push someone to write a letter to "god". These range from simple issues of everyday life, such as crushes or grades, to truly traumatizing topics, such as human trafficking and rape. Most games and any kind of media for that matter shy away from the worst parts of humanity. Because it's uncomfortable to think about, most people don't want to think about it. However, I find stories with more gray area charters much more interesting than a hero story because reality is, the hero very rarely actually wins. It also manages to deal with these topics without becoming a horror game which is really refreshing. Are the situations horrifying? Yes, absolutely. Is the story told in a compelling and engaging fashion with tons of character development? 100%. The ending of the primary story was a little lackluster, but the characters you follow more than make up for that. Game play can also be a bit repetitive and some solutions are downright confusing. Overall though, absolutely worth buying at full price.

TLDR: Fantastic story with great character development. Has several very triggering topics. Game play can get a bit repetitive. Worth buying at full price.

Genuinely one of my favorite VN's ever. If you enjoyed Ghost Trick, it follows a similar gameplay idea except presented through text instead.

Really excellent story and artwork, very much worth looking into.

I really do still want to say I like Will. I enjoyed the mechanics of this game. It's an interesting way of committing to a visual novel, and a novel way of getting past having an MC who holds an enormous amount of power over other people's lives despite being just some guy.

However, the stories are pretty bad. I'm a fan of horror and tragedy, but it really reads as someone way too in love with their own darkness. The most gratuitous case is the kid's story, which doesn't just force you the player to let an 11 year old boy be raped, but then shows a illustration of him sobbing while being penetrated . Not to mention there's Alicia's storyline, which goes from a cliched sex trafficking storyline to the plot of Martyrs without any of the intelligence. There are some gems though, the cat's story was playful and original while maintaining the theme of "you can't change fate".

Master1212
Master1212

I expected WILL to be a pretty fun experience with a unique gameplay twist that would entertain me for a short while.

I got much more than what I bargained for.
WILL is a game that knows exactly what it is trying to do, and will stop at nothing to get there.
It is a game with no binaries - no good or bad, no right or wrong - I couldn't even tell you who the "main character" is. WILL just doesn't operate within these absolutes.
It is a game that, as a result of this approach to story-telling, manages to present a unique perspective on the human condition. And, as such, it is a game that still pops into my head from time to time - a truly unforgettable experience.

I adore WILL, and although I cannot say for sure you would too, if there is a chance you'll get as much enjoyment out of it as I did, I'd wager it might be worth a try.

I'm sorry, but having your trigger warning at the beginning of the game for a r*pe scene be worded as "This game includeds occasional **** plots. When shocked or surprised please scream loudly to disturb your neighbors" is not only in poor taste for the severity of the subject matter, but also a piss poor warning. You do realize that gore is also a four letter word, and something you actually warned people about in your marketing? I'm so glad I had an audio issue with your game so I could find out about that scene before I stumbled upon it. If I could still refund this game, I would in a heartbeat.
