Not that fun but if you're just playing 15 to 30 minutes at a time, it's sort of relaxing? You're kinda looking at the exact same trees and leaves and bushes all the time which isn't very creative. Things are almost hidden too well. The color palette doesn't help either...everything's brown.
I bought this game from sale and I have to say that I can't recommend this game. Art style is nice and I kinda got invested in the story but I felt that there was no conclusion to anything. I wish there was more levels and story. I have played these kind of games before and enjoyed them and this game had potential.
I think everything just felt very underwhelming and I expected little more from the game.
Broken, Unfinished, and Boring
I really wanted to like this game but for $15 it's an absolute mess. Even the sale price of $6 is too much, especially considering the game is broken and I'm currently soft locked halfway through it because the game is completely broken and glitched. When I first tried launching the game it simply crashed every time, luckily in the discussion boards the developer had made a post about how to fix this, so I did it and I was able to get the game to finally launch. I'm not sure why the developer didn't just fix this in an update but whatever. Going through the game, it was fine. Nothing special besides a nice art style and some decent music. A very average hidden item game. But then, I reached the dreaded level 8. You see, there's a monkey you're supposed to click on in order to advance and I found it and started clicking it. Nothing happened. I thought hmm I must be missing something. sure enough, in a guide you're supposed to have a banana as an item to find and use this banana to click on the monkey. Well guess what wasn't on my screen as an item to find, you guessed it. A banana. Sure enough, someone else had this problem a year ago. The developer told them how to fix it and it worked for them. Good for them. I tried the same steps and nothing. I've tried everything I can but that damn banana item is not popping up and frankly, I don't care enough to keep trying, Even if this game wasn't an unfinished mess, it wouldn't be worth your time. Skip this, save your money and get a game that is actually playable. For more reviews, follow my curator page.
Bit pricey for what it offers, but it's nice and doesn't overstay its welcome. Would suggest to get it in sale if you like hidden object games of this type. Somewhat annoyed what little story it has ends in cliffhanger, revealing this is supposed to be season 1 of more to come, but doesn't seem like it's being continued anytime soon.
I've played a range of hidden object games via Steam, and this has to be one of my least favourite. The art style and story elements are both enjoyable, but it's lacking in content. It took me a total of 77 minutes to 100% the game, and I have no desire to go back in a few months and replay it.
Most of the items were extremely easy to spot. I would struggle with maybe 1-2 per level, and these were usually just placed behind a tree with a very small number of pixels on show. It lacked the clever level designs to blend the objects into their surroundings, and mechanics such as shaking trees or moving rocks were never utilised. I did enjoy the fact the cursor changed colour to show what was clickable, and there were a handful of objects which required you to solve small puzzles. But there just wasn't enough to warrant the high price for the game.
I also found the hint system a little frustrating. It has a 3 minute timer to prevent you abusing it, but the timer only starts once you ask for a hint. This resulted in me either waiting around for 3 minutes (as I had already thoroughly checked the map) or just activating the hint immediately and giving myself a 3 minute time limit to find the object.
If you are looking for other hidden object games, try Hidden Folk, Hidden Through Time, SEARCH ALL, FIND ALL, 100 Hidden Snails/Hares/Birds/Cats etc. All of these offer much better value for money, either because they are significantly cheaper, or have far more content (or both!).
I have tried to play this game many times , it starts and i go to the first card and click on it to play , the screen goes black just the arrow is seen for a min or two , then it goes off like I ended or finished the game witch I did not do so grrrrr
Seeing so much positive feedback, I feel like I need to leave my "not recommend" opinion.
Don't get me wrong, the game is ok - it is cute, has really lovely graphics but that's just it. I played Hidden Folks before and Wind Peaks just falls short in comparison. The objects are mostly quite easy to spot and the difficulty level doesn't raise with next chapters. Only the maps get bigger. Also for this price, the game is extremely lacking in content. It says it's season 1, but the release date was 2 years ago and there still hasn't been any addition.
I'd love to see more levels making use of increasingly more complicated mini puzzles (the existing ones are super easy), more cleverly use of the build in objects that move on the map and a more captivating story line.
At this state this game is a waste of money (and I did buy it on a discount). Just go get Hidden Folks instead and thank me later ;)
I REALLY ENJOYED THIS GAME!
♥ good difficulty, beautiful drawings, lovely details
♥ short story (2-3 hrs) but worth the price
♥ doesn't have any hints or in-game guides for finding items
♥ game cant be saved when it's in progress
♥ location of per items will change after restarting the level (i love this part)
♥ i wish it had more scene in night because experiencing with that cute tiny flashlight was so cool
I recommend a very different hidden object game that tells a really cool story! The crazy cow is funny
Super cute, cartoon-y, stress-free game. I had a lot of those "Hidden Object" books as a kid, so I play maybe too many of these kinds of games, and this is one of the better ones! The graphics are fun, there's a little story with cutscenes as you go, and I like getting 100% achievements in games, which this one makes easy 'cause all you have to do is beat it. Completion takes less than 2 hours, which is pretty decent for a $5ish price tag - especially to support the creators of something so fun and chill.
This would also be good to play with kids if you have them, they can help you find things!
Very well drawn, cute, hidden object and with a loose story involving the campers. Fun:)
-Amazing atmosphere (I vibed with it)
-Not too easy (actually quite hard at times)
-The game brought me a ton of childhood memories
-Like it more than the similar game "Hidden folks"
Please more! Can't wait for season 2!
What I would add in the next season: 1) More of consequential interactions with the environment. 2) More objects that you have to find and then use them to interact with something else. 3) Some sort of hint system for when you get stuck. Would be cool if it nudged you in the right direction, but not gave everything away!
Overall amazing game 10/10
I hardly ever write reviews. Doing so right now because this game clearly needs it! Good luck to the developers, hope they'll be able to continue the series and make it amazing!
Great Job! Silky smooth presentation for a classic hidden object game which starts fairly easily enough but evolves into quite a tricky affair. Very peaceful aural landscape, needed during these Pandemic times, and at 1-3 hours, this is a very much needed game. In the next edition perhaps more variety in types of hiding the objects but otherwise a very strong effort.
This is a hidden object game, but it isn't a good one. Many of the objects are just hidden in places that don't make sense whatsoever, or are misleading entirely. A time waster, but not even a satisfying one. Like for example, the crocodile was found in a water tower which I had no idea was even clickable. Then another one, a black duck had lines around the bottom, symbolizing it could be found floating in the water... was NOT in the water at all but instead found on the roof. The little icon was incredibly misleading
Loved this game and it was very relaxing, but I wish it had been longer. The only disappointing thing was that if I didn't manage to find everything in the section I was searching and then had to stop, I had to start all over again when I re-started the game. Please could we have another one very soon.
Like Hidden Through Time, Wind Peaks is a Hidden Folks
rip-offer... Hidden-Folks-em-up. Also like Hidden Through Time, Wind Peaks isn't very good. This one manages to be even worse though. No clues on the targets and no ongoing mid-level save. Screen-dragging with the right mouse button? Why? Ugh... Boring sound design. Uninteresting hides: making barely part of a thing stick out from another thing isn't clever; it's poor.If you think this game looks interesting and haven't played Hidden Folks, don't get this. Get Hidden Folks instead.
Cute and short Where's Waldo type of game. I see huge potential for this series. I love the whimsical art style. I hope in future iterations more things are interactive and make noise, like Hidden Folks. I would love it if for season 2 they expand on the interactions on the map. I look forward to the next entry.
Lovingly drawn, coloured, mostly relaxing hidden object adventure that took me 1.4 hours (I try to be thorough) to complete.
The animated story parts between the completed scenes I found a bit hard to follow. To me those were more like disjointed episodes than a continuous story. Probably was just not paying enough attention. Anyway those animated "cut scenes" were fun to watch as a reward for completing a map.
Coming from other hidden object games, the biggest issue I had with the game was that there was no discernible "logic" to where the objects you are supposed to find might be located. I would suggest placing items where they might actually "hide". The coloured nature of the maps certainly helps find the items, but then some objects were "recoloured" negating the possible advantage of colour-tracking them.
Suggestions:
• Add a system for item location hints (cryptic ones if you must) to give the player a better, less tedious chance to find that last illusive item in a huge forest. More than once I just lucked out finding an item.
• It would be nice to be able turn off the item bar to take clean HUD-free screenshots.
If you like to play hidden object games like Hidden Folks, Hidden Through Time, Hidden Paws | Mystery, or Summer Paws, I would recommend getting this one as well.
Super Cute seek and find game that incorporates environmental puzzles and moving of objects as well as adorable characters and a story-line. Great for kids, my 5 year old daughter and I beat the game in a few hours spread over a couple afternoons. We enjoyed it very much, wished it was longer!
esse jogo não vale 20 reais nem de longe, muito pequeno p/ esse preço, nem sei se da pra falar que o jogo tem história, mas são umas cutscenes insignificantes, hidden folks faz um trabalho bem melhor por um preço quase igual
I can't recommend this game as for me it stopped working after I'd played for a while and it wont work any longer. Tried everything, even uninstalled it a few times but for some strange reason it will no longer play. The developer has been very helpful and tried to get it working again so if you have any problems he will do his best to help which these days is a big plus.
Update.
I just took delivery of a new gaming rig and this one played the game without a problem even though its only a year or so newer. So it looks like my other machine has issues with some games but lord knows what they are as other games work fine on it.
Played the game and loved it so I now recommend it.
Game could have been longer even though graphics are really nice and polished.
B-
Are.... are those legs behind that bush? What?
A game about searching hidden objects.
The game is about two hours long and offers relaxing background sound and cute graphics.
All scenes combine to a little journey.
Definitely suitable for playing with kids.
Not as good as Hidden Folks but an OK substitute if you're done with the game and wants to look for more giant maps with items hidden in there.
So why the "not recommended". Unfortunately, it suffers from the "hug in the corner of building" syndrom, and before long you'll just check around every building to find 80% of the items hidden there, the rest playing on "same color item" rule, both being an easy choice. Frankly I would have expected the mechanics of "shaking the tree", "moving the bush and "pushing the rocks" to have an impact in the game, but they are NEVER used elsewhere than on the tutorial that introduce those. Not even on the same level.
This is a nice little HOG that I enjoyed playing.
Comparing it to other games of its ilk, I liked it a lot better because it was nicely drawn with clever animations, quite colorful and a cute story behind it. I'm hoping they come out with some more chapters.
If you get stuck on an item you can click on it and after 3 minutes it will lead you to the general area of the item.
In its present state, it is very short (2.5 hours for me) so I would definitely wait for a sale. It's a bit on the easy side so not a huge challenge but more of a pleasant divergence from more brain taxing games. Also a good game to play with a child for sure.
Overall, it was was an enjoyable, if short, experience. It's by no means perfect but there's a lot to like about this game. I'd recommend getting this game on sale.
Things about the game that weren't my favorite:
Out of all the things you could interact with, very few of those things actually resulted in anything happening so it felt a little pointless. I love environmental story telling but the way they did it left parts of the story feeling a bit vague. Lastly, and I'm aware this is a little petty, but for the bottle achievement you only have to find 25 out of like 40-something bottles in the game which does make the achievement easier to get but definitely makes it feel like less of an achievement.
Recommending because it's fun, but I beat the game with all achievements at exactly 2 hours.... If I had been 5 minutes quicker I would have refunded just due to the extremely short length of the game. That being said, the art is nice and I enjoyed the gameplay, and I absolutely wasn't rushing. If the game were 3-4 times as long, it would've been really great. I guess it's cheaper than going to watch a movie, but just be aware how short it is. If the devs made a similar game that lasted much longer, I'd definitely be willing to pay more.
Very well made hidden object game, worth the price for the polish. That said I do feel like this world and style is wasted on such a simple genre. I'd love to see this world but from another angle.
Well drawn game, nice graphics. I'm glad devs put the game duration in the store page, most short games don't say anything;
The game is so cute ... I love the camping theme. The game also have a nice soundtrack, but I had to lower both ambient and effects sounds to listen to it.
I like it, it's a lite game experience.
Ok I'm now waiting for season two ... and it better be in space!
It's a good game, loved the visuals, but the story is very simplistic guess it was made for kids
I do recommend because it's fun :)
Great hidden objects game. Played on Linux through proton.
Great art, but that's all there's good about this game. It's very short, story is mediocre, and finding some objects was exhausting. We had to use a hint for, like, every third goal, because it was just five pixels sticking from behind a bush or something. Objects are hidden without any real logic, and sometimes differ in color from the reference.
If you enjoyed I-Spy as a kid in the past, then this game will take you back to search for all sorts of items just like in your childhood. It's short, sweet, and it made me feel like a kid again in a library trying to find every single item off a list. Whenever you need a day to just chill and find objects on a camp ground, then this is the game for you.
OKAY, I AM AN ADULT BUT I LOVE PLAYING CUTE GAMES .. HEHE
- THE GAME GRAPHICS IS GOOD AND AS SOMEONE THAT HAVE "MOTION SICKNESS", I DON'T HAVE ANY PROBLEMS PLAYING THIS GAME FOR MORE THAN 1 HOUR
- I BOUGHT THIS GAME WHEN IT HAVE PROMOTION SO THE PRICE IS ACCEPTABLE FOR ME IN "MYR"
- 0.7 HOURS IS NOT MUCH BUT I CAN TELL WHEN THE GAMES IS GOOD AND WORTH TO PLAY
- IF U ARE HESITATING ABOUT BUYING THIS GAME, PLEASE DO CONSIDER ABOUT IT FIRST BECAUSE THE GAME PLAY IS SHORT AND ALL U HAVE TO DO IS TO FIND A HIDDEN OBJECTS. I RECOMMEND TO PLAY THIS USING A MOUSE EVEN WHEN THIS GAME SUPPORT CONTROLLER.
Really cute and short hidden items game.
Loved the story to drive the game and look forward to Season 2 :)
Length: 1-2 hours
Art style is 10/10
Art is very good. Sound is nice too.
Children will find some stuff maybe too difficult.
I liked the atmosphere and the storyline interactions.
Totems achievement seems to be broken. I replayed
the 3 levels and built the totems but unlukely still no achievement.
Bye.
I requested a refund for this game. I feel like I'm being brutal on this review but I'm shocked at the good reviews.
Looks like I played .6 hours and most of that time was waiting 3 minutes per hint to load.
If I'm needing a hint, I already looked everywhere so why do I need to wait 3 minutes?
If you like hidden object games, it's alright for a game on sale. I wouldn't pay full price for this.
This game did not hold my interest. Onto the next!
Ahh what a charming little game!
Absolutely loved playing this!
I cannot wait to see what Actoon Studio creates next!
Love the art style. Hope this come to Mac OS soon:(
I couldn't even finish the tutorial. I found all three objects, but nothing happened. I ended the game and wanted to try again today, but the game doesn't even load anymore. After the developer's furry icon I only get a black screen with music.
I'm refunding that broken piece of crap.
This was a fun and fairly quick game! It has nice music and art style, and the game play is not too difficult. This is definitely an i-spy/hidden objects game, so if you don't enjoy spending your time combing through areas looking for specific items, this might not be your cup of tea.
I don't care if there isn't anything behind that bush, I simply have to rustle every bush I see.
This is a cute little hidden object game much like Hidden Folks. Great art and easy achievements I enjoyed the hunt =) Recommend.
A bright, colorful version of Hidden Folks that caught my attention looking through the Steam Store with its cartoony vibes. There's little puzzles throughout each level annnnnnnnnnnd achievements to be searched for! It's a simple game and is a definite steal when on sale.
An super relaxing, cute and unique game! The artstyle is very pretty and there are many little gameplay elements and surprises that set it apart from other search type games.
I've also usually neither found it too easy nor too difficult to find the items. And if you ever do get stuck, there is the option to click the item you're searching for in the bar below and after three minutes you will be pointed towards its about location.
The only little downside is that it's fairly short. But apparently what's out right now is only Season 1, so hopefully there will be more to come!
Would definetly recommend!
The game was very short. The scenes are pretty monotonous, there are mini-games on the levels, but they are too simple. The general story is not interesting. I love looking for hidden objects, but not in this game. Sorry :(
It could be better but it's a "ok" game overall. The art is cute and the gameplay is fun.
If you are like me, that love games like "Agent A" or "Hidden Folks" probably we're going to have the same opinion on this one...
Long story short: It's ok, but could be better. Worth the play but not the money.
Short, sweet, and simple hidden object game. I really like the art style, and I enjoyed my time with it. If you liked Where's Wally, you'll probably like this.
It was alright. Personally, I don't like it when hidden objects are actually hidden but the art work was good enough to make me want to play the game till the end. To be frank though, I don't like games that purposefully strain your eyes.
A fun hidden item game.
It looks good and has a functional hint system.
I think it's a bit short for it's price.
Recommended when on sale.
If you've beat Wind Peaks and are looking for another game in this style, with tons more content (hundreds of user made game maps, some good, some not), check out Hidden Through Time (on sale now).
I don't understand all the great reviews?? I love indie hidden object games and have played a lot of them. I feel bad but I have to say this one sucks. Every map is covered with the exact same bushes, trees, rocks, and grass everywhere. Instead of being cleverly placed, items are "hidden" by just having most of the thing covered up by other stuff in the scene... so it's usually just a very frustrating pixel hunt, even more so as you progress and the maps get bigger but not really much different in terms of the forest scenery.
There's random trash like banana peels, hammers, and shirts strewn everywhere in the forest which is weirdly upsetting. There's a chicken with 3 legs and a fish with 3 eyes (maybe because of all the litter??) The 3-minute countdown hint timer only starts when you click the hint button. The overwhelming majority of the time, clicking on things that you can interact with doesn't reveal anything (opening windows, rustling bushes, etc). The bare-bones story is awful and the ending is infuriating.
Also when you click on the camping kids they softly giggle in this extremely creepy way
I do not recommend
Short hidden object game. Beautiful art. Recommended when on sale.
The art is lovely. Its cartoonish style is greatly done, and the colour palette is pleasant to the eyes. But most of the time, you'll look at the same copy-paste trees, bushes, rocks and houses. Well, to be honest, all levels feel like a copy-paste of one another with a few big unique environmental objects.
The music is okayish. Not great, not terrible. I didn't even notice it for the majority of the time. It's so easy to not pay any attention to it like there's no soundtrack at all. The environment sound effects were nice, though.
The story is told through comic page–like scenes and a brief intro/outro in each HO scene. It's quite nice and charming. It was like a cool adventure tale until the last scene. It was just awful, like your typical cheap HOG with the most stupid-a*se mystery. And it ends with a cliffhanger. There are no words to describe how much I hate this sh*t.
I'm kinda a fan of hidden object type of games. But not when it's like "I've looked all over the whole f*cking map three times and still didn't spot that one item." So I used hints from time to time. The hint charges for three bloody minutes. That's f*cking long time. Yes, it charges, not recharges. You have to wait three d*mn minutes before you can use a hint. If I'm asking for help, that means I already looked everywhere. So why the f*ck should I wait? Some objects are hidden behind something interactive, like bushes or a stack of stones. But some non-interactive bushes and rocks look almost identical to interactive ones. Not very convenient. But really only a few items are hidden behind interactive things. Often objects are barely visible from behind a stationary environment. Which is not fun at all. There're also a veeeeery few puzzles that are presented on some levels. They're as easy as pie. This is a nice idea and it's a shame it wasn't developed into something greater than an effortless way to slow you down a little.
Why am I recommending this game? I still somewhat fancy this, even so it can be irritating. Well, let's be honest, I really like this art style. And I'm not mad enough with this game to give it a thumb down. It was an okayish killer of two hours of my life. I would give it a "so so" rating if I could. If you still want to buy this, wait for a huge sale (75% or so). This game is overpriced as f*ck.
