Looks better than the predecessor - still bad. Sounds bad. Virtually impossible to play using the keyboard. You're doing 100 km/h and it looks like 40 km/h. Physics is weird. Not a good choice.

Ignore the negative reviews. For such a cheap price you wont find more content and fun than this game.

One of the best Rally sims around. Has a racing mode that places checkpoints on an open map & you do NOT have to stay on the road to get there (fun in multi-player). Only racing sim that I've seen where the driver takes damage which causes his reactions to slow down or even blackout for a few seconds.

Xpansion to Xpand. It is more of the same great gameplay with some seriously insane cars to boot.

Tracks are more focused on the arena dirt and Island style racing, and none of the snow races (my favorite).

It is an excellent expansion to one of my favorite rally games, and is certainly worth a play if you like Xpand.

I bought it on sale, its pretty rough at first but its better then expected. it has better then average car/handling physics , its not arcade like most of the bigger race titles today. there arent as much environments as I'd like, however it still a great buy for the low price of 3.74e I spent.

For me this is still far the best rally game. I played Dirts, WRCs, but none of them gave me so much adrenaline, feel, and challenge like Xpand Rally did. The only negative could be the missing of the real car brands and WRC stages. I strongly recommend this polish gamefor any sim or racing fan. Although the graphic is quite outdated but who cares if the driving is soo damn enjoyable!

Some people may not like this game, and that's a shame. Yes, it is old, and hard - recommended 1st person driving (which makes it more realistic and much more harder than 3rd person driving that's available among other viewing options) and only ... Rallys (which means you compete, eventually, against the clock), no midgame saving - no room for mistakes. Car models are false, but resemble real life models.
But, you can still choose from different cars, you can change the wheels and etc. and adapt the cars to each rally. The difficulty in Arcade mode is pretty easy (well, only at first), while in Simulation the races are very hard since even 1 accident (with a tree or something else on the road) means you lost precious time. All of this makes finishing 1st feelling very rewarding.

Help/Spoiler: Advancing is very hard without significantly improving your car. If you find it hard to go on - go back, and race again where you already won - you race against the same drivers with same cars as before, while your car should be improved, and therefor it's much easier to win and get easy money.

Was expecting half decent rally simulator as written by other reviewers but found this game frustrating and flat out crap..

-Poor handling
-Most buttons are unresponsive or take way to long to respond to steering, throttle or brake input on keyboard and controllers
-Car physics are messed up where a RWD car handles like a FWD and 4WD feels like FWD than 4WD
-Cars bog down when driving downhill on dirt and other cases of cars being unresponsive or not responding to the conditions correctly.

All though it was made in 2006 i will give it credit for trying but frankly not inpressed at all. even games Like Dirt 3 feel alot more solid and responsive as a Rally game should. 0/10 - Would like a refund

Xpand Rally Xtreme is a sorta sequel to Xtreme Rally, which is surprisingly realistic, yet saddled with a strange "campaign" engine with "car upgrades" cribbed from far more "arcade" titles that distracts from its realistic car handling and decent terrain engine, ending up with a "neither fish nor fowl" that's neither hardcore nor arcade, and really satisfies neither camp.

Driving sims generally comes in three flavors: pure arcade (turn and burn rubber) such as NFS Most Wanted, hardcore sim (rFactor), or semi-hardcore (WRC games, GRID series). Xpand Rally Xtreme (and its predecessor Xtreme Rally) tries to bridge the arcade and semi-hardcore with choice between arcade and simulation modes, but the "campaign" makes little sense as you have to win money and apply money to repairs and upgrades. Upgrading a rally car, hmmm...

Lack of full controller support (i.e. choose menus with controller) makes actually playing less than pleasurable as one must reach for mouse. it also will not auto-detect my standard Xbox360 controller and I had to map inputs manually.

There are no real cars. The car physical models are based on the real cars, and you can recognize the cars. However, the names are changed as not to offend the original owners (i.e. Ford = Cord) and minor body work changed as well. Additional car types are introduced in this game instead of just rally cars, grouped into roughly 4 classes.

The rally courses and events are quite decent and long enough (though none of them are super-long). And the cars do handle realistically as they slide and straighten or react to handbrake turns. Driving model is quite good. On the other hand, the setups that you'd expect for rally games, like front vs. rear rollbar, , suspension settings, etc. are hidden via a LOT of icons and such, when they are there at all. And this is in simulation mode.

Furthermore, you start with a budget. Yes, a budget, 35000, to buy one of the 4 starting cars (approx 33000 or 34000). And you get to upgrade parts like suspension, tires, engine, and so on. For a moment I thought I was playing Flatout, as they involve the same sort of parts: regular shocks, sports shocks, pro shocks, racing shocks, for example.

You may win thousands per race, but you will have to pay to repair the damages, and if you don't finish near the top (1st or 2nd) your winnings may barely pay for the damages, leaving you going nowhere. Furthermore, the idea of upgrading your car in rally, where everybody should be nearly equal, is a bit "hmmmm....".

I wish I can enjoy it a bit more, as I do enjoy rally games, but this game is a bit on the "weird" side.

The best rally game for physics I've ever played. The Graphics aren't 100% but still decent. I've played a lot of rally games and this has the best physics all out them all. I strongly reccomend the game instead of WRC and other rally based games! Also £3.99 is extremely cheap so don't worry about handing out your wages or pocket money getting it!

this game has great potentail, there is plenty of texure detail ( grass,rocks,trees ect... look great ) and the cars look respectable enough to not have a problem with. The handing model is a bit different but fine to play once you get used to it. There is plenty of game content as well. The massive let down of this game is that the lighting quality is hopeless, the game graphics suffer a lot because of this and just if they had put a bit more time in to it the the game would be so much better. Although saying this for £4 its great fun to mess around with and you can play with your mates or random people online if you wish. mind you if they updated the graphics it would be worth so much more. The final plus point is that it will support really, really low systems on low quality for those not lucky enough to have a good PC.

this game is well worth the 5 bucks, its a very great rally game, and a great alternative to the dirt series, if you cant run dirt rally, cant afford dirt rally, or looking for a compitent alternative, this a just the game! im loving it, and the courses i have done so far exceed 2 and a half minutes, and thats driving balls to the wall! GRRR, well that was fun, when the car was working like I wanted it to. My car keeps losing traction, so it's just revving really high for no reason, let go of gas, goes right back up there like I put it into N. It kept doing that and I went into third person, it was like I was putting handbrake on but I wasn't, endless streams of tire marks... and THE FLIPPING NOISE IT MAKES, The engine sounds SO ANNOYING when it keeps hitting the limiter, it's the most annoying sound ever, even turned down the volume and it was still annoying. What a CRAP game. It was fun, I was loving it but MAN did that kill it completely. Just that endless hitting the limitier bs. Switched to all the gears, always HITTING the limiter like my car isn't on the ground and I'm actually flying.

First of all, IGNORE ALL OF THE NEGATIVE REVIEWS, there was an incident where Valve and Bethesda screwed up on a paid mod system, it's removed now, and all the people who wrote the negative reviews did not bother to remove them so a lot of people got confused into thinking that mods are paid in this game, in other words, DO NOT LET THE PEOPLE WHO DID NOT REMOVE THE REVIEWS CHANGE YOUR MIND ON BUYING THIS AMAZING GAME, moving on.

Skyrim is labeled as an RPG, you would probably think this game is some kind of strategic game, it's not. This game does not feel like an RPG at all, it feels like an open-world melee-first person shooter. As you can tell by all the how much time the reviewers put time into this game, it has an enormous amount to offer. The story is very well developed. The main story itself is 30 hours. All the quests, including DLC, is maybe is 400 hours, it is practically impossible to complete the entire game. I bought this game about two and a half years ago and I'm stilling playing it. The side quests, are also very well developed, each quest is unique and has it's own aspects.

The combat system in Skyrim is also very well made, you can use your own combination of what weapons, magic, powers, and armor to use. You can use stealth, light armor, and magic to your advantage, or can use enchanted battle-axes, and heavy armor. Each combination of weapons, magic and armor will change what skills you have to upgrade, what you have to buy, and how this combination will work and be used in battle.

Races is an another thing in Skyrim. You have full customization over your character, the appearance of your character does not matter as much as what race you pick. The province of Skyrim is like Morrowind, racist. If you pick anything other than a Nord, you will sometimes be looked down upon by some NPCs, the race you pick affects how people talk to you and respond to you. Each race has their own resistances to things, powers, and armor/weapon bonus points. Each race's abilities are listed here: http://elderscrolls.wikia.com/wiki/Races_(Skyrim)

The modding community is awesome in Skyrim, there are a bunch of varieties of mods, I don't use them because Skyrim is fun enough without them, there are mods that are silly, like Thomas the Tank Engine dragons, and Dragonborn Chicken Followers, there are mods that improve and add towns in the game, there are mods that add more weapons, armor, magic, and skills, and there are mods that are reskins. Developers and modders can start making mods for the game and uploading them to the Skyrim Steam Workshop and Nexus by downloading the Skyrim Creation Kit in the tools menu. Like I mentioned in the beginning, recently, Valve and Bethesda made a paid mod system in where they received 75% of the profit and the developers only got 25%, there was a lot of hate toward this and it got removed, but the 10,000 people that wrote negative reviews about this did not bother to delete it once the paid mods got removed, so there is a bunch of negative reviews for the game, like I said, ignore them.

In conclusion, Skyrim is one of the best games I've ever played, I hope you enjoy it as much as I did. (By the way, before you play Skyrim, download the HD Texture Pack, it enhances your graphics greatly and makes the game look awesome (more than it already does):

Could be an ok rally game, but it seems like it randomly totals your car out on invisible obstacles in the road. One time that stands out to me was going over a bridge on tarmac the car immediately became totalled out, came to a stop, and I was informed that my driver was injured. In this game that requires a "career rollback," much like a system restore on a computer, losing all your progress since your last race series was completed.
Also the game crashes when you try and exit, leaving me to do the good old CTRL+ALT+DEL trick to close it and get back to my desktop. I wouldn't recommend anybody to buy this game.

I really like XRX and it's brother XPand Rally.
So many details that surprise me, as I discover this underrated gem.
Some handy "cheats" permits us to have access to beautiful places and awesome cars, in an instant. Just look them up on the net. Please type () at the end.
Long periods of playing time is not always available for me, to obtain all tracks and cars.
Windshiled wipers that wipe realistically, light patterns detailed by quartz halogen bulbs, cars able to run (barely) on 3 wheels, with a spindle scraping, and creating sparkles, ect.
I have a run of the mill PC set up, and this thing runs like a Deer, I mean like a dream.
I even bought the DVD's of both games, just to own the boxes, artwork, and backup discs just in case...
BTW my Logitech F310 is perfect, just choose the appropriate steering components at the garage, the controller sensivity, come's after that first step.
Lucky for you outhere, who owns a proper steering wheel and pedals.
So long fellow virtual rally pilots.

Despite the game's flaws, it's still a pretty fun and challenging experience if you get used to it's physics and the gameplay.

Pros:
-Tons of cars and tracks to choose;
-Tuning (Cuz' why not?);
-Weather/Daytime changes for each trach;
-Good soundtrack;
-Decent optimization and graphics;
-You can actually sell a vehicle that you no longer need for the rally championship, giving you a possible advantage of getting better parts for the said vehicle you're maining or buying a new one. Also, the better the parts you install to a vehicle, the more valuable it gets. Also, you can actually grind credits to get the best parts/vehicles in the game quickly.

Cons:
-The (unnecessary) Injury system (For example: If you screw up very hard in a race and die miserably in a fiery crash, you'll have to start ALL OVER AGAIN! Fortunately, there's the Rollback Career feature to remediate this problem. So, get good for real);
-The physics are good but they're not fully fledged;
-After a race, you're forced to repair your vehicle and you'll still have to pay about 2000 credits even if the damage is very minor;
-Difficulty spike depending how well tuned your vehicle is;

While it may not be one of the best rally simcade racers out there, but overall, it's a very decent and underrated gem.

Oh boy here I go reviewing games nobody cares about anymore!

Just want to say I bought this game for $.99 as a lark because I like rally games and was surprised that it actually drives really well.

I'd say if you're a po boy, nobody loves you and you really want to play a rally game and you can't pirate Richard Burns Rally you could do a lost worse than this game.

But this game was made in 2006 so it's kinda ugly. However you can go beyond the built in resolutions by editing the config file \Techland\Xpand Rally\Data\videosettings.src

I successfully ran it in 2560*1080 and it looks OK.

If I want to start the game, the message appears: ''Your Serial Number is incorrect. Please reinstall XPand Rally Extreme.'' What? I never had a key in my hands. I bought the game on Steam! And btw, a reinstall does't work.
There is no support from Techland either. Techland did not answer my message. If a company sells on steam then the product must be fine!
This is not a drama for me now. But next time I prefer to buy a sausage for the euro..

Quite realistic, the game is over a decade old but holds its entertaining value. I like the injury mechanics as well if you hit something to hard you die sort of like what happens in real life, this makes you really pay attention to driving. The easiest way to compare it is, the dark souls of rally racing. Amazing

Raven

I've never understood when developers use insanely stupid spelling in game titles. After the success of the X-games, we had a period where lots of games decided to drop the E's in titles with "extreme" in the name and here is another example. We have here a game that wants us to feel that it was so Xtreme that the X was all that was needed. That, or the devs were morons that couldn't spell. After having played this game, I'm positive that was actually the reason for the title.

So in Xpand Rally Xtreme, we have a rally racing game that offers a choice between ARCADE (sucks) and SIMULATION (also sucks) for the card handling/damage and such. I'm going to try to make this review as clear as possible. This game SUCKS. The graphics are bad. The handling model is bad. The physics are bad. The controls are bad. The AI is bad. The game also doesn't have licensed vehicles, so you're stuck with knockoffs of real vehicles. The fun factor is non-existent. The only challenge involved is overcoming how poor the gameplay is.

The aforementioned things in the previous paragraph are typically the only things to consider with racing games. And with this game failing spectacularly in every regard, I can say that this is probably the worst racing game I've played since the Atari 2600 days. The game has absolutely zero redeeming qualities. It's so horribly bad, I'll be taking the drastic step of removing it from my account even without being able to get a refund. I really can't stress how horrible it is. I've recently played through some Super Nintendo and PlayStation One era racing games and they all are MUCH more fun (and in the PS1 case, HANDLE much better with MUCH better controls/physics/handling) in EVERY regard.

The game was released in 2006. To put that in perspective, that was two years AFTER Richard Burns Rally, long considered to be the gold standard for rally games. It was a year after the amazingly fun arcade style racer, Project Gotham Racing 3. And it was also preceded by 5 iterations of the Colin McRae Rally series of games, with the first game in the Dirt series being only about a year from release. So even compared with the games prior and during the time of release, this game would have been a steaming pile of garbage comparatively. Time has only made things worse for this absolute piece of trash.

Do yourself a favor and avoid this game like the plague. If you're dying to play a racing game, literally choose any other racing game on Steam, it's likely to be better. Sure, it could be as bad. But I assure you, the odds of it being worse are NEARLY zero.

I wrote this review from 2019/07/21-10:01 to 07/29-16:45 as I played the game, and cleaned up after.

Intro

I'm a Rally fan, but ‘cuz I can't imagine myself watching official highlights or going to events just to see a single section of a course, I can't be bothered to watch, so I just play. I think Enduro is better for watching, but I don't know, prove me wrong on Rally being boring to watch.

I played Colin McRae Rally 2005 last year and finished DiRT 3 this year. 2005 is one of my favorite racing games, and DiRT 3 was great. So, when I saw this game on Steam, I thought it looked similar to the former, and I decided to buy it.

First impressions, wow, the game has fairly deep car setup and part upgrade options.

Of course, I set the difficulty to simulation because it’s more fun to wrestle with the handling than it is to slide non effortlessly. 2005 and this are arcade sims, and I've got no problem with that, in fact, I like it.

Visuals

Initially, the visuals blurry as hell. To fix that, I disabled the bloom and motion blur. I don't think this game looks as good as 2005 does, that game looks fantastic - especially the German and Japanese stages - but still, this looks great.

And by that, of course, I'm not talking about realism - that's not interesting in of itself - I'm saying the aesthetics are great, and realism has nothing to do with it looking good.

Handling and Gameplay

I had some trouble getting the handling down at first. I was sliding a lot during the first 10 minutes in the first stage, losing grip and spinning out at high speeds. It's normal, it takes a little while to get used to a racing game's handling. I also figured it was because my car wasn't upgraded and had bad spoilers and thus downforce; I was right.

The wheels you choose make a ton of difference in the handling; if you choose the wrong ones, you'll be 3 or 5 whole seconds behind your opponent at your fastest.

The game's got a cool set of replay cameras. My favorites are chopper and orbit. It's annoying that you can't control the camera yourself, but I'm yet to see that in any racing game's replay. Haven't played any racers with screenshot features, either – those usually give you free camera control.

You’ll find yourself flipping now and again even with the highest quality spoiler parts. It’s unrealistic in an unhelpful manner; you shouldn’t expect a rally car to flip while trying to slide on a hairpin.

Campaign, Progress and Difficulty

Current Campaign Completion: ─ 23.4%, 22.5h

I'm sad to say, the game is Very grindy.

You can die. Yeap, you can die in this game if you crash too hard. Your driver dies and you restart after you finished your last championship. I really like that feature because it adds stakes, but if the pacing of the game isn't right, or if it's too grindy, it ruins it by making you play and replay too much. Which it is. I also like how small rocks mess your car up.

I suggest zipping your save in a .rar before replaying a course you died >1 on, so you don't have to regrind the money you made to buy part upgrades.

Here's how it's been going for me. I can't beat a stage because my car sucks too hard. For example, in the two Super Special stages that let you win your second car, if you go there without grinding, you'll flip or fishtail because of a lack of downforce and grip.

I have no experience with the other two starter cars, but the issue must still exist. (Future me: It exists even in a WRL car...)

So, you must replay stages to get money for part upgrades. If you fuck up, you'll have to pay for the repairs. If you didn't cheap out on the wheels (you shouldn't, they make the handling easier), you'll be paying 2k every two runs. You’re not allowed to race If any one of your parts is damaged by >10%.

I'm on stage AC7. I've ground like 3.5 hours to get my car to a point where it can be 2-3 seconds behind the opponent, it's like, 90% upgraded, but there's something wrong still. I'm not sure if it's my driving, or if the stage has too much mud or both. This stage is so fucking hard.

For now, I'll recommend the game. It's enjoyable, but the grind... it's pushing my enjoyment.

If you didn't play 2005, play that instead; you'll have a guaranteed fun time. Well, the gravel stages are too slippery, but everything else is fun.

If you liked 2005, get this, play it for 80 minutes just to try it out. If you don't like it, refund it. Refunds are the new demo.

Got past AC7 after Fully upgrading the car and throttling less. Wheels are very expensive. Driving in the tarmac is not fun because they're mostly straightaways and the turns make you fishtail because you're going too fast. Braking is very inefficient thus unusable (I found that making the brake bias 100% on the rear helps).

Unlocked the third car. The game actually gets fun here, WRL stages 3 and 4, which are the most fun stages yet, require no grind.

The Moonlight Challenges are cool but really dark. Kinda impossible to do, I skipped them for now.

─ 65% - From stages 21 to 23+ the tracks get really difficult.

I noticed that in this game, I find gravel/dirt/mud tracks to be more fun than tarmac, whereas it was the opposite in CMR5.

The campaign is not well designed. I just did all of the WRL stages and the rest of the events in front of it are just special events, so I'm doing those, plus sp. events I didn't do initially because I didn't have the funds to buy a car.

Funny. When I scroll to the locked stages in the career stage list, the game tells me I must finish WRL stages 27/28 in >2nd place to unlock them. I did, yet they’re locked.

Anyway, I'm doing some Xtreme Offroad tracks. It's like... Forza. You're in an open map and you race towards points without a set race track. This is interesting because 3 other cars are racing alongside you. It's... not for me. If this were Dakar, I'd be more interested, but no.

─ 80.4% - Just did the Moonlight Stages. I think they're some of my favorite in this game. They test your stage knowledge, and it's intense - you have to keep your eye on the throttle.

─ Career Complete. Finished it. The game requires you to play the last two Super Special stages even though they’re not stages 27/28. I had to cheese the AI in them; wait for it to break, so I could do a solo race and win.

I noticed I kept my same, third car ever since I got it. No reason to play with the other cars.

I tried playing the races after you finish the campaign, the ones you race with a car called Retti. Not fun. It’s track racing. Except it SUCKS because the brakes suck. If I didn’t stop playing here, I’m sure I’d need to grind to upgrade this car, given the number of extra stages.

The game comes with the same level creating tool the developers used. A shame the game just is not good...

Summary

Extrenuously grindy. The game has 4 (5, counting the non-offroad ones) maps whose track layout changes according to the stage – that would’ve been fine if only the game weren’t grindy. Car upgrades suffer from the same issue. The physics are not good, you flip and crash at points where you shouldn’t.

I rarely had fun with the game. I only saw it through to the end because it was similar to CMR5, I had to see what this had to offer. It was a chore to play. Don’t play it.

Tip: Don’t write a review as you play. Take notes instead.

Note: The game has a bug which may break you career progress, making a car unusable in a race because the game freezes after every race. Be sure to always own multiple cars in a class or to always have money ready to buy a second car so you're able to continue your career even if the bug happens. Otherwise you will have to cheat your way forward or to begin a new career.

I can't imagine how a bug like this managed to get through to the final release!

Played the predecessor years ago and found it bad.
As i play this i found it really ok and want to finish it.
Upgrade slowly and you get one race after the other.
Fast and good to control. Graphics are ok.

A fun little rally game that can look good *and* run well on even the worst of PCs and has pretty decent physics, but a lack of music during races and the fact that aside from a single visible ghost racer you can drive right through and several other racers you see in name only at the end of a race - which essentially means you're racing by yourself against the clock - kind of put me off for the game for now, however, my opinion may be subject to change as I play more of the game in the future.

This title also comes with a track creator separate from the game executable as a free extra with the main download, though I haven't tinkered with it yet. This editor can be accessed by simply choosing to load it when Steam prompts you to choose an option when pressing "PLAY" on the game page.

I got this game for 79p during the Steam Summer Sale of 2020, which is a very good price for a game of this scale, and definitely worth buying for any fans of the rally racing genre.

If there were a neutral option in the Steam review system, I would give this game a neutral rating, but for now, as a gesture of good-will to the developers at Techland, I am giving this game a positive rating.

This is one of the best 99 cent games I have bought on steam. Gameplay is solid and fun. Cars and tracks look good.
I am not a huge fan of RALLY games but found myself enjoying this a lot of fun to play. I got this on sale it is usually 4.99 and even then that isn't a bad price for a GOOD game.

It's kinda fun but it's like Forza games where if you are in the lead at the end the AI just appears and passes you going a speed their car wouldn't normally go.

First of all, I am ignoring its graphics because it is a game from “06. So, I played the first 7 events and found it very fun and enjoyable. The dirt physics is fun and somewhat similar to dirt 3’s physics. The tarmac is a little weirder but still not bad. I also like the little touch of deer and people running across the track sometimes.

7 out of 10.

My favourite rally game was Colin McRae Rally 2. I'm a casual racing game player but I think this is one of the best rally game on steam for casual players.

I left a bad review on the first game, Xpand Rally (one of the worst rally games ever because of its physics) and can't really leave a positive one for the Xtreme either. The games are very similar, but with few differences. At first, I was like "wow! they improved the physics a lot, good job!". Sure, it's not perfect, but can't complain.
But two major flaws still remain:
1 - the damage on your car is still so exaggerated. Minor hits against a guardrail can cause massive damage, and the jump, oh the jumps! It feels like the developers never watched a single WRC video. You have to slow down way too much and take each jump extra slowly, otherwise your car will literally explode on landing. I can understand a suspension or transmission damage if you take a jump too fast, but in this game all your windows will explode, damaged engine, damaged battery, damaged clutch, damaged rear bumper (???). Oh, and of course the AI doesn't need to slow down at jumps, so prepare to lose plenty of time every time there's a jump.
2 - the "rally championship" is still not a championship. No classifications, no points, no rallies, just single stages that you have to complete and master to unlock the next ones. I guess it's a developer's choice, but it's totally against the nature of rallying, it's like a circuit racing game that has no races, only single lap qualifying sessions.
And here is why I stopped playing it and won't even bother finishing: you need to beat a car's time using a slower car from a lower category, otherwise you can't progress. Therefore, you need to modify your car a lot, which demands lots of money. And to get money, you need to farm, repeating and winning previous stages (farming in a rally game, so fun). The game has a mechanic that if you crash heavily (but the game can register even a light crash as heavy, because it's not well made), your driver gets injured and it's game over, you have to load the game from the last progress made. But farming on older events does NOT count as progress! Therefore:
needs lots of money otherwise can't progress -> farms and farms to get the money, while having lots of fun -> small crash against a guardrail -> game sees it as HUGE, MASSIVE CRASH -> driver injured, game over -> load game, all that farming lost -> needs lots of money otherwise can't progress, again -> lol bye, uninstalled

When it's on sale, it's an ok bargin to buy the bundle for under $2.00, but any other time, no....... 1st of all where is the v-sync options on these 2 games? although it plays more like a bland arcade game, it's controls of the steering are worse than ford racing 3 or off road(and that game runs and plays better!) Yes I know it's from 2006, yes I know that the developers don't care about it anymore(probably), but still if you have some change lying around, and you want to rally(kinda) but don't want to pay $20 for most games that would be Much better, then yes buy it. Otherwise go back to whatever you were enjoying or try something else, I don't know. The point is, it's an OK game, but very rough and a bit odd for a game from that timeline, so don't get it instantly as soon as you see it. Plus both games are not so different from the bundle, and tbh you could run this on almost anything, But be ready on the extreme version when you max out everything, you may notice some tear on the bottom, but it's almost not noticable, but still why they made it to have no v-sync option in the settings beats me. I mean it may have been weird to play this at 30fps minimum but were talking about a game from 2006 here, not 2010 or newer. there might be a way to make it lock at 60 or 120 but meh. I paid $1.80 for both together on a sale. (Trust me, I don't want to hate on the creators, but this.......This isn't worth $4.99+ anymore) only get this when they are on sale, and you either have some change to spare or you feel like trying something that is buried in the archives of steam.

im not a very intelligent person when it comes to racing games but this one is very slippery in the physics department, its not setup for controller support by default (glad i checked that before starting a race), comes in standard definition by default you have to change a screen saver file (scr) to text (txt) change the resolution to High definition and then back to a screen saver file i have never in my years of pc gaming seen a game with screen saver files as its main files used this is a first, but overall game is okay not the best but decent if you own it then play this if you dont then either get this on sale or play dirt rally

Such a fun game! Its something i was looking for on a pc! Its pretty much a dirt game that can run on my pc lol!
anyways the gameplay is fun the graphics are too good to be true on a 2006 GAME! The co-driver isnt obnoxious and it was a well spent money and its very worth it especially if you have a bad pc

Lunabba

More good looking than the first one, but also more grindy. The latter part is a problem because it slows down the progression to new classes/vehicles. For the price this is still a nice rally game that holds up surprisingly well even at 4k and the controller options are every bit as good as they were in the first game.

Firstly, it is from 2006 - and graphics are such, although pretty good all the same. Widescreen resolutions don't seem to be supported but it looks good even so, as the image is stretched a little to compensate. For a tiny price it's worth it, there's a career mode and it's all pretty realistic. Keyboard and controllers (which can be tweaked) are supported, but Keyboard controls make driving twitchy and a tad inaccurate. But its good as if you are a bad driver (like me) its quite satisfying seeing (and hearing) your car slowly disintegrate as you smash it and hit things.

A good piece of fun.

Genuinely hardcore, realistic, and probably one of the best racing games out there that's not $60. Still can't get over that I got this on sale for $0.49.

Pretty much the same as XPand Rally with the same little problems and fixes. This one seems a lot easier though, but could be that I'm already too good at this. I pretty much won gold at every race on the first try.

In the menu you can only set the resolution to maximum 1280x1024, but you can just change the Video Settings file and set it to whatever you want. The controls can just be mapped to your Xbox controller, no problems there. Other than that, the visuals are not great, but good enough for the time. Other than that you have the same sexy smooth controls as the first game, but that was already expected.

With almost 2 decades behind it, Xpand Rally still remains a fun rally game to race in every now and then.

I won't claim now that the 'then photo-realistic landscapes' are as impressive as they were in 2006, but the controls and handling of the powerful rally cars remain gamer-friendly.
The game brings us a campaign mode where you will build a career based on time trialling through individual races or championships, keeping the traditional rallying activities.

What was also unique about this game at the time was that, just like in Gran Turismo, you will have to earn money to upgrade your car(s), repair damage or pay entrance fees, but through these and similar ways you will operation and the condition of the car.

+ Very important to know, this sequel of 'Xpand Rally' comes with a lot of news such as a series of interesting new vehicles!
Besides the usual rally cars you will also be able to drive Buggies, GT cars, 4x4 cars and even monster trucks!
