This is a great game for people wanting to get into more pixel type games plus the story and visuals are sooo good. I would really recommend playing even if it is one play through to experience it. overall good stuff and one of my favorite

Armageddon

Good game. The characters are charming, the puzzles good and engaging, and the horror wasn't too much.

This game performed horrifically for me through my entire run and it seems like the devs have refused to fix it on the forums. That said, incredibly fun game despite performance. If a quirky, funny mystery game against a horror backdrop sounds like something for you, definitely pick this up.

Great art, music, characters, and most importantly, rewarding exploration and fun (though not difficult) puzzles. Definitely got me to keep an eye on whatever Baroque Decay has coming up.

The story line is well told and fun to interact! My game does freeze here and here for some reason but working it though right now!

I first bought this on switch and fell in love instantly. This game had me playing it for 10 days straight. The story is a tad bit up in the air but the gameplay is so unique and fun, the soundtrack is relaxing and tense for a horror game. I think what makes this game so charming is the pixel art, its quite the treat for the eyes. I highly suggest this game to anyone who has fallen madly in love with any of the RPGMAKER horror classics!
My only con is just that I wish some DLC songs were in the soundtrack as for one of the endings there is a song that has not been included into the main OST.

You just gotta survive this horrible capitalist landscape by killing the witch.

In all seriousness, this is a great game that I have literally no idea how to explain. It feels a bit like a point and click adventure where you explore a fully insane corporation.

Really fun gameplay, loved the atmosphere of each area of the building. Truly unsettling parts of this game which made this a really good horror game to me. The backstory was really interesting, I think the puzzles are quite challenging sometimes which is great and the cut scenes look really cool

A lot going on here but not a whole lot is really fleshed out.

Maybe catch it on sale but otherwise not worth it.

The saving ability is super frustrating as you have to find the materials needed to save (copy machine supplies basically) and your game won't save otherwise. But honestly it adds some psychological to the horror of the game, which is honestly pretty fun. Only play of you have some time to sit down and collect ink and paper, but yeah the game is great.

Yuppie Psycho

Just like the only other Baroque Decay game, The Count Lucanor, Yuppie Psycho is simply an extraordinary display of what's possible. A game where everything fits together. The graphics, the art style, the audio and sound effects, the atmosphere, the depth, the story and the horror elements. Everything merged into an almost perfect experience. I just like Yuppie Psycho a little more than The Count Lucanor. But just because of the setting. So these are purely personal reasons.

Maybe not everyones cup of tea, but I love the idea of limited safe opportunities and consumables. It's not like you're going to run out or anything, unless you're completely brain dead and feel the need to save every few seconds like some modern gamers do. It's a game where you have to think for yourself, where you have to figure things out and plan a little in advance. Not much, but a welcome sight when you think of most modern games, where everything is dealt to you on a silver tablet and you have to use as little brain power as possible. Baroque Decay games pay homage to the purest idea of video games. A game that you actually play and feel like you've accomplished something while playing. And not like watching a video, where you can interact from time to time.

Summary:

If you like horror, mystery, adventure, fantastic stories and lore, exploration, great characters, twist and turns, multiple endings and wonderful world building, don't think twice and just give them your money. And while you're at it, also buy The Count Lucanor. It's a bit shorter, but still worth every penny. Yuppie Psycho offers around 10-15 hours and the former around 5-10 hours of quality gameplay. Have fun!

Honestly one of the best games I have ever played, no part of it is bad I struggle to think of a fault this game has. Very few games that I complete leave me with a strong and absolute feeling of love and joy for what I had just played but this game is one of them. I bought this when it was on sale and I regret it, the experience this game provides is worth even more than its full asking price. I fell in love with the game in a way that I rarely do and I know others will too.

[Review] Yuppie Psycho
Hello, dear friend!
Today, I would like to talk about a very interesting, and in some ways unusual project. Let's see what this game can offer you.
Yuppie Psycho: Executive Edition review on your screens friends, let's go!

Not in a fairy tale
I won't say much about the plot.
The action of the game begins with the fact that Brian Pasternak (Our main character) receives an invitation to work in the largest company, Sintracorp. Upon arriving at the aforementioned company, Brian learns that he was not hired as an office clerk, but as a real Witch Hunter. From that moment on, Brian will have to figure out all the supernatural nonsense that is happening in the company, meet new characters, kill the witch. And the primary task: to survive until the end of his first working day.
The plot in the game is really great, it will constantly keep you in suspense, force the player to build their guesses and much more. The story keeps the game going.
I believe that this is the primary purpose of the story in games, it should encourage the player to play the game, and not just be in the game for show.

Adventures of the Young Witch Hunter
Location from the DLC, if during the passage you do not see this place, it's okay.
I can tell a lot more about the gameplay. The game is partly a quest with finding objects, solving simple puzzles and so on, but it is also Survival Horror. But let's go in order.
Dialogues with characters play an important role in the game. Like it or not, you will talk to the characters quite often, while the dialogues themselves are pop-up windows with text. Sometimes we will even be given the right to choose.
The dialogues are very interesting and reveal the characters. True, there is a flaw associated with the localization of the game in Russian, but this is not critical.
Now let's talk directly about the gameplay. As I said earlier, the game is partly a Quest.
We will periodically have to think about what to do with this or that object, solve puzzles, interact with characters - which will often let us know what to do with this or that object, and, among other things, will tell quite a few interesting facts about the history of the company.
It is worth saying that the puzzles are very simple, but they do not become less interesting from this.
In addition to being a quest, the game is also not a bad Survival Horror. We have a battery flashlight, which tends to run out, we can only save with the help of a photocopier for a special resource that we will find in the process of passing. There are only 2 auto saves for the whole game. In the future, in order to save, be kind enough to fork out for a special piece of paper, and sometimes even for a cartridge, if suddenly the copier standing next to it turned out to be empty.
As you may have guessed, Brian's fighter is useless, so the only way to survive an encounter with an enemy is to hide from him. This mechanic is fully revealed in the DLC, but we'll talk about it a little later.
I also want to talk about boss fights.
Each battle with them is unique and requires an individual approach, but alas, there are only 3 of them in the game, one of which is not a mandatory and hidden boss at all.
The gameplay turned out to be very interesting and does not let the player get bored, he periodically dilutes hide and seek, running errands back and forth, solving puzzles, etc. The location, it would seem, is not large, the action of the game will take place exclusively within the framework of one 10-story building, but this playing field turned out to be quite interesting and even diverse.
I liked the gameplay, despite the fact that I do not like this genre of games. And this, in turn, says a lot.

Hidden Content
To my surprise, not a small fraction of the content in the game is hidden. Starting from video cassettes that contain mini horror films (and they also act as a kind of collectible items that are hidden on the floors). Many notes that will tell us a little about Lor, as well as new dialogues with characters that did not exist before. The developers were not too lazy to add even a hidden boss. By the way, DLC can also be attributed to hidden content, and that’s all, because in order to activate the add-on, you need to perform certain manipulations, and a person who simply follows the plot rails will not even get to the location where this action needs to be performed. Therefore, a person who loves: to climb everywhere, to touch everything, learns much more, compared to a player who simply follows the rails of the plot.
Important!!!
What I didn't say is that if you just follow the storyline, the player will be left with no content, or will be left with a ton of questions (To be fair, some of the answers are still hidden). Just by going through the game, most things will be clear to you, because they are directly told to you, but there is also a large share of hidden content that is very interesting to delve into.

Addition
It's time to talk about the free add-on. As I said above, not everyone can activate this DLC, activate it:
1. Curious
2. The player watching the guide.
The add-on itself does not bring anything in terms of gameplay. It is simply intended to expand the plot by showing some moments from the other side. It added a boss (This is the one that is hidden), and added 2 new endings. The endings themselves are mutually exclusive, if you have not activated the add-on, then the endings will only be from the list that is in the main game, and if you did activate it, then you can forget about the endings of their original game, only those that are in the add-on.
Apart from the ending, the addition does not change anything, if you do not take into account the fact that one section from the DLC strains and scares 2 times more than the entire original game.

Musical Accompaniment
How to put it this way... the music in the game is simple, but it affects your immersion, it just fits perfectly into the gameplay. For all its simplicity, the musical accompaniment is recognizable, if even six months later they turn on ost from this game, I will recognize it.

Visual Style
And again my favorite Pixel Art.
If I may say so, the visual style of the game is not detailed pixel art, the cutscenes themselves are drawn in Anime style, but also decorated in pixel style. The windows with the images of the characters themselves are detailed, but in the game itself there are large coarse pixels, but this is by no means a bad thing. The developer managed to perfectly convey the spirit and atmosphere of the game, and this is the main thing.

Outcome
Yuppie Psycho - A great example of how to create a great game, it's not the budget and PR that matters, but the fact that the developer is sincerely interested in creating a good product.
Is the game worth the attention?
— Yes, if suddenly the price tag of 300 rubles bothers you, in such cases, having seen the game on discounts, it’s still worth thinking about buying.
Let's talk about the pros and cons.
PROS**
1. Good plot,
2. Nice soundtrack,
3. Not annoying and interesting gameplay,
4. Free DLC,
MINUSES**
1. Crooked Russian localization
2. Hidden DLC.
9,5/10

This game was an incredibly fun experience and I enjoyed it immensely. Though if you want the full experience you find it difficult without a walkthrough. While I don't mind that, you might so consider that before playing. Other than that I highly recommend this game.

This is a strange game. The structure and story are really interesting. I have a lot of respect for this game, but I do not enjoy playing it that much.

Tallowhand
Tallowhand

A strange satire that starts strong, has an amazing middle, and then just kinda...ends. Some fun humor runs through the horror & corporate satire like veins, part "Rosemary's Baby" & part "Brazil," and it capably mixes RPG & adventure game elements. I was all set to count this as one of my favorite games, a truly excellent horror satire, but that ending really fell flat. Worth the sale price of $6.66, but I don't know that it's worth full price given the lackluster ending.

Really enjoyed this. Game managed to maintain a creepy atmosphere even with the retro graphics, which I didn't expect. Great sound track, fun puzzles, liked the unique setting. Only complaint is the ending levels drug on a bit. By that point in the game I was ready to be done. Even still, well worth the low price.

Would be interested in trying another one of their titles.

Game is not really enjoyable to play, but the story, atmosphere and well drawn cutscenes is worth the price!

Flamesystems

This game is incredible.
Yes, it's basically a "walk and interact" story focused game, but it's got actual branching paths, a shitload of secrets, very good writing, worldbuilding, and very good art. you will get invested in the story, weather you want to or not.
It's a horror game, but not really in a jumpscares and sprinting type of way, more of a "solve puzzles on a timer but the timer is a printer with hands that kills everything it touches" type of way. More atmospheric/existential horror I suppose. That is, except for one section in an old suburban house. That one's just terrifying, even if I never died to it.

Actually, the most impressive part of this game is how resources work. All of your healing/saving/action items are limited, and you are constantly under pressure for fear of running out. And yet, you basically won't. you'll always be uncomfortably close though. It's the best item placement I've ever seen in a game.
(except for glow sticks they're a little broken in some rooms, and you can always pick them back up)

I will say that some of the secrets are fascinatingly cryptic, so if you're planning on digging through every piece this game has to offer, I'd reccomend taking a look at some of the steam guides if you get stuck. It's not a very difficult game if (and that's a huge if) you know precisely what you are doing.

Surprisingly deep and worth replaying. It's like if a VN and a horror game sewn together with a thread of dark humor and corporate satire.

Smelgor

i became incredibly addicted to this game for the week or so that I played it, and quickly got invested in all the funny lil goobers populating the atmospheric and fascinating sintracorp building. the environments are incredible and filled with all kinds of creative monstrosities. even regular conversations with your workmates can get quite unsettling. that being said, this game also has a sense of humour and some awkward laughs fitted between the horror.
the gameplay mainly revolves around finding items and working out when to use those items, but can actually get pretty difficult when it comes to avoiding enemies such as the security camera boss.
highly recommend this game. please don't spoil yourself much and just get lost in its mystery.

A fairly abstract action-adventure game, Yuppie Psycho begins to slow down and wear out it's welcome by the middle of the game. The writing, while creative, does not always make much sense.

The game is VERY good. It is light-hearted with goofy dialogues but pixel art imagery is gory.

Gameplay is fun, and always feel fair. The puzzles are very interesting, challenging but not unreasonable. I needed to check the internet once for the clue. (*ding*ding*ding*)

Though there are a lot of missing pieces in the lore and the game's ending may feel a bit rushed. Or maybe it is just so good that I want more...

Works sucks! Find out the what possible paranormal reasons are behind why your cube farm is so fucked up and decide the fate of your fellow colleagues.

The company is in your hands Witch Hunter.

+ dope pixel art
+ interesting story
+ spooky, 90s anime and cyberpunk aesthetic
+ choices MATTER
+ multiple endings

- some back tracking
- sandbox to the point of figure everything out for yourself (could be a plus for some)
- save system is not the worst, but it is somewhat limiting and you cannot organize or prioritize saves

If you need someone's permission... Buy it. Especially if it's on sale!!

Really fun, engaging and incisive satire of corporate life. Also kinda spooky, would probably recommend the executive edition because the second half feels more like a last fifth

Nausea
Nausea

Great atmosphere and characters. I liked the story, it's strangely torn between mature horror and cute character moments.
Only downside is frustrating game-play. Anything involving action sequences or stealth tends to involve a lot of trial and error. Harsh punishment usually results in a lot of lost time, via game-overs or long scenes for bad endings. The enemies typically move fast, have wild path-finding and deal tons of damage.

The puzzles are also somewhat whack at times, and I used a guide several times when stuck.
I recommend it if you have patience. At least watch a let's play if you don't.

its decent however the second floor optional part i had to hand to my bf cuz i genuinely couldn’t complete it. as well as i had to use an online guide to figure out where to go next based on the storyline, plus i kept having to go back and redo entire parts of the game because i saved too much cuz i die so much and well yeah…

This game is a ton of fun! It reminds me of the old resident evil games, mixed with rpg maker style horror and the comedy is absurdly funny and out of pocket. The characters are fun and charming and the mystery has that x-files meets twin peaks like eeriness that only a 90's aesthetic can pull off. The vaporwave aesthetic of syntranet adds to the overall appeal. I highly recommend it!

A strange mix of humor, comedy and mystery that works surprisingly well. The art, sound and characters are all great. The only thing this game doesn't really do for me, is being scary. But I don't think that is a bad thing. The world is intriguing and unsetteling enough to create the atmosphere it wants.

Highly recommend the game if you are looking for luzzle game to grab for a weekend or two and doesn't waste time getting good.
