I enjoyed this game in the beginning, but with every passing hour I felt more and more underwhelmed.
After completing ho tu lo shu, I hoped for a game that would combine all the best mechanics from previous heluo games, but instead I got the first Tale of Wuxia with better graphics.

My main problem with this game is extreme time-management - I hate it, because I'm missing out on a huge chunk of content. Or at least I feel like I do, because I can spend my time on training attributes or techniques to make MC stronger or choose to spend time with companions or to do quests, but then I get frustrated during battles, because enemies hit like a truck.
Battles are also kind of frustrating, because almost in every fight there has to be some twist. Like additional enemy shows up and ruins your strategy or you get some debuffs and then some buffs and then one of your characters disappears etc. I get that it was supposed to make fights more dramatic, but in my case it ended up with me being frustrated.

I'm not sure if I'll ever finish my first playthrough. The story seems quite interesting and persona-like aethetics surely are nice, but many elements and mechanics feel dull as if developers lost their heart for making games, so they went through the path of least resistance.
I made a comparison with Tale of Wuxia, but it occured to me that I missed one key element - free roam/exploration.
Tale of wuxia, even though it was mostly a simulation game, had gameplay mechanics that let you explore quite a lot. I got the feeling, that the cities you explored were even bigger that the same cities in pre-sequel.
Path of Wuxia is nothing like that. Exploring is very limited, locations are claustrophobic in comparison and there is nothing to do there.
