Fun little puzzle game about doing the impossible
I definitely recommend picking up this game, especially if it's on sale. I got it for NZ$0.74 and it is very much worth it. Also the levels actually get hard, which is sadly not super common in puzzle games (especially in the cheaper ones.)
Will definitely be playing more and likely beating all the levels because this is one of the funnest puzzle games I've ever played.
This is a cute idea for a puzzle game but its execution is all over the place. The biggest problem lies with the game's physics model. It just doesn't work all that well. Liquids are more like compact collections of little balls that roll around and because of this they don't "flow" the way a normal liquid would. Placing bombs under the liquids sometimes causes them to compress in size and then expand rapidly as the bomb goes off launching the liquids all over the place. They don't always follow the 90 degree angles in the corridors that well so sometimes this means you need more than one bomb to get all the liquid out but not every level gives you enough bombs. You can lose a stage purely because the game's physics just didn't work right.
Boxes selectively have physics, too. You can stack them and if you do it unevenly they'll fall over, yet you can stick them vertically in a 1x1 tunnel and they won't slide down the wall? You can also jam them partially into the wall so they stick out a bit and rather than fall the game will hold the boxes there. Sometimes this is needed in order to solve a level. With how unpredictable the game's physics model is I can't recommend this game in good faith. It's a nice idea but it's marred by poor execution.
I somehow found a surprisingly decent game when I went through cheap games on steam. this game is pretty good so buy it if you see it on sale for 50 cents. it gets some difficulty later on which is quite nice and my biggest criticisms are that 1. the music is pretty bad it's just the same song over and over again for 2 hours 2. there are quite a few bugs that I found out while playing the game casually and finally 3. It could use more things that you can place rather than just the crates and bombs.
Hey! Hey! Hey! Yeah, you. Can't you see how dirty I am? If you want to give me a nice bathe, just click the like button!

A nice little game that will tax your brain, but not too much! Cute pixel graphics give it a nice simplistic but pretty appearance. It doesn't outstay its welcome, and is nice and cheap too. Just two (very minor) criticisms.
Firstly, in the in-game menu which pops up from the bottom, you kinda expect the house icon to take you to the home page for the game (like most browser icons) but it actually takes you to the level select page which you can't exit from unless you select a level. To exit the game you actually need to click on the red X icon (which I thought was just close down the menu that had just popped up.
Secondly and more importantly... no "congrats you've finished the game" screen or sequence! Instead the last level just reloads again. Really disappointing that such a basic thing was missing.
That said though... I bought the trilogy of "how to bathe your cat" games together and this was my first one. I'm looking forward to the next! :)
thought this is some kind of relax puzzle game, i didnt know i would have to battle with awful mechanics that lot of the times dont make any sense and the tools behavior is lot of the times erratic, level 18 is the perfect example what is so crap about this game
if you enjoyed ‘where’s my water’ as a kid, you’ll understand this game. Get water to the cat, get it clean! However, there are some rather annoying timing-based puzzles, which require precision, or else you’d have to start all over again. It’s pretty simple, but other than those annoyances, it’s well put together.
A unique and charming puzzle game.
The main gameplay of this is rather good.
Except for using boxes to transport liquid.
That particular mechanic was unpolished.
It can actually move liquid out of bounds.
Which did sometimes force me to restart.
But other than that, the game is amazing.
I only had that physics issue in five levels.
Everything else works smoothly. So yeah.
I like the visual style, retro vibes are neat.
Even the audio design felt truly nostalgic.
The price of this game is very, very small.
It features 40 levels in total, that is great.
You can beat this game in like two hours.
Which is really decent for such low price.
And yeah, overall: It's a very cute puzzle.
If you love puzzle games, you will love it.
Very cute, very cheap and also amazing.
Just a fair warning - about halfway through the game some dexterity skills will be required to continue (to block moving liquid with a crate) in addition to logic. Video solutions can be found in the game's "Guides" section here on Steam. Took about two and a half hours to play through 40 levels.
Nice one with trick puzzles. Plus for the pixel art!
Cool game, like in the real world, it's hard to bathe a cat.
If my cat stayed quiet like this when I try to bathe him, I'd be happy.
Good puzzle. IT'S
beautiful pixel art!
It's an excellent style of game to pass the time, simple, cheap and very enjoyable.
This game is really cool. Nice puzzles and with a cute cat.
Very nice pixel art, simple mechanics easy to learn, well elaborated level progression, clearly hand-crafted puzzles. Great relaxing music for this style of game.
Cute, fun and well designed game!
Very fun game, I played with my daughter and she loved it!!!!!
one of the prettiest pixel art indie games i've seen on steam, the game idea and mechanics just made it all the more amazing!
39 + 1 bonus levels. Absolutely worth the price.
Some puzzles are somewhat strict (or maybe just me being dumb).
There are some minor glitches like box duplication, liquid phasing through walls and box softlocked inside wall. Otherwise the game works just fine. (Could add a quit game button though)
Cute, straightforward, casual puzzle game. I find the stinky cat ridiculously charming. The higher levels do get more challenging, if you're worried about it being too simple. Great way to kill a few minutes here and there; just my type of game.
It was okay. Looking forward to the sequel, "How To Bathe Your Catgirl"
I really liked it, the game is really fun, a great soundtrack, beautiful art and very interesting mechanics.
Bought this game as a meme because it was cheap, but to be honest its totally worth the purchase.
I normally hate puzzle games yet this was both challenging , and fun at the same time. With it not being a "popular" game it didnt have all the solutions already done and posted on youtube or in guides so when i got stuck i had to really think of how to beat or cheese my way to victory.
Loved playing this game, great job devs!
This game changed my life and taught me valuable lessons. Now i can perfectly use bombs and boxes to clean me, my cat and my significant other, who was sceptical at first about the bombs but is now completely on board.
Get in the Bath Stinky!: The Game
A lovely little puzzle game with more usage of physics than I expected, definitely a great way to spend a couple hours. Yea the music loop might get to you but for £0.79 I'm okay with it. Hope the dev continues their work.
Fun little puzzle game, somewhat reminiscent of Lemmings. I wish they had more levels, though.
This game, It's honestly a truly beautiful masterpiece.
With such exquisite gameplay, I can finally figure out from the mass research, done from the four corners of the world. That anti-gravity is a good source for cleaning liquids, which makes me think. What if such scientific experiments were done on Humans? Of course we should try it on Monkeys and Apes, because who cares about them.
Right, so basically this gameplay consists of an amazing tale, no in fact these are an excruciatingly, painstakingly, love-making-ly, tales of washing a cat.
I have now come from a new aspect, This isn't such a scenario that makes it a theory, no in fact with this evidence from the gameplay of this scientific experience.
I have devised that my cat.
Is Stinky.
The game ends perfectly right before it overstays its welcome. Each mechanic felt realized to its full potential. Physics-based puzzler that just does what it wants to do and does it well
Sometimes buggy and uneven with levels difficulty, but overall it's a nice and chill game for about two hours of gameplay.
This game is unbelievably cute and the colors are pretty. The puzzles were challenging, often more in execution rather than difficulty to figure out. I enjoyed every single second of playtime and only wish it were longer. Sometimes bombs glitch pieces of whatever you're exploding into the walls. You can glitch for extra bombs and boxes. Other than that I didn't notice any bugs, and the things I listed weren't really a problem, just funny.
A cute, but short game of 40 levels. It's a simple enough physics puzzler - drop the blue particles on the cat, followed by pink particles, and avoid red particles. If you take your time, it might take 2-3 hours to complete, at absolute most. But for the price, it's quite decent, and can help kill a bit of time.
There is also absolutely no story, mind you. Not even a "Congrabuladions, your winner!" screen. Level 40 just loops back into itself when completed.
Feels unfinished. It's missing a lot of minor quality of life things that make a game more accessible.
very cute pixel game! if you like complex puzzles this is for u!
Meh, it's OK. I beat it in under 2.5 hours (AFK time was about 30 minutes).
This is not strictly a puzzle game. Later levels require quick reflexes and dexterity. That said, puzzle design is pretty dang good.
I just wish the devs ironed out some of the annoying control mechanics. While controlling boxes to move liquids, the liquids phase through boxes irregularly. If it's not random, the movement requirements are so arcane, it's the same end result. With more functional box movement, I'd probably have shaved off another 30 mins to this game (and would have been happier to have spent time playing it).
Now, I kinda feel like I wasted my time... but for 79 cents, you could do worse. And I'm tempted to test out this game's "Drawing" sequel. So I can't in good faith leave a "No" rec.
This game gets boring pretty quickly because it is repetitive and it is a pretty small game (only 40 levels). Though this game is cheap so I don't expect a lot. This game has cool physics though.
This a great little puzzle game for relaxing over a couple of hours. There are 40 levels, some require a bit of thought, others trial and error. Some levels required some pretty quick movements to succeed, so bear that in mind.
For the asking price this is a definite recommendation for puzzle game fans.
My cat now loves bathing. Lava not so much.
Fun puzzler, not too hard - just enough to make me go hmm over my morning coffee. Well done on a technical level and I love the aesthetic.
This is a really cute, fun puzzle game that starts off very easy and then ramps up the difficulty at a nice pace.
The main downside is that there are only 40 levels. Fractal Projects - please, please make some more.
If you're a fan of puzzle games, or cats, get this game on your radar.
Nice little game for inbetween.
Bathe that stinky cat. 11 levels played so far but, mechanics are solid, premise is adorable!
Good fun. Basic physics game where you attempt to bathe your cat by soaking it with enough water, and then, if available, perfume it. Decent liquid and gas simulation.
rough around the edges but the puzzles are addictive and fun.
Best game i ever played im def going to play more (pls add more levs i beat all)
If you've ever wondered "How would I bathe my cat if I was stuck underground with only bombs and crates for company?" or "Is it ever OK to bathe my cat with lava?" then this great little puzzle game is for you.
The bombs and crates allow you to channel water around the playing area in an attempt to bathe your cat. If successful, you move on to a more challenging level.
The only downside is that the 40 levels that are currently available can be completed in less than 2 hours. Having said that, How To Bathe Your Cat is great fun and for the price it is still really good value.
Please, please release some more levels.
Cute and fun. Fairly challenging.
It's a good coffee break type game. Graphics aren't much, but the puzzles are just challenging enough that you can play this for a few minutes here and there without getting overly frustrated. The whole interface is pictographic, so you'll have to play around with clicking on the icons at the bottom right to figure out what everything does. Levels 18 and 23 are probably the hardest of the 40 levels; once you figure out the trick to 18, the rest of the game is pretty doable even if you don't have the fastest reflexes and can't quite get the timing element down as seen in YouTube walkthrough videos for the harder levels.
I would have liked it better if the game didn't just take you back to level 40 once you finish the last level, and if there had been a player profile creation screen in case multiple people want to play the game. I also noticed the mechanics are a little strange at times where sometimes the crates won't stay in place and so you have to use a different one to get your crate in a desired location. It seems more a matter of luck sometimes with how well the bombs will move stuff, and sometimes the crates are better at pushing stuff around than others. But can't really complain at the price this game's selling for. Much recommended, and if you want harder puzzles, the sequels seem more complicated.
The idea of the game is ok, but I would have liked to see more game mechanics here. The game only gives you bombs and crates to play around with, which loses its fun very quickly. The focus on the game is on solving puzzles, which are mostly well designed, but often feel way too slow in terms of progress.
Completionist's note: 100% completion is achieved after beating the last level.
its a simple and cute puzzle game, decently easy but not just a "click = win" type game

Fluid dynamics combined with cat cleanliness is a good match up, the puzzles do suffer from how powerful the infinite use mouse button is.
