My Inner Darkness Is A Hot Anime Girl!

A short game about making peace with your inner darkness and learning to deal with it. By antropomorphizing it as an anime girl, we see how the shadows in our minds would act if they were a person. And, well, you might learn that the darkest part of your mind is not so bad, it can be even really hot, but you need to deal with it. This game actually has great metaphors that can be good advice in real life, and embodies a lot of stoic philosophy. As a stoic myself, I loved this. This game is so wholesome.

An RPG game themed around memes, dreams, and beating the living shit out of your inner darkness with the power of CBT (no, not THAT kind of CBT, the therapy kind). It's not too long of a ride, but it doesn't overstay its welcome either. There's also fun references to other games by this same developer if you've played the other games by them

Combat wise it's a fairly standard turn-based RPG, still fun though and I like the names of the skills (and how if you're feeling lucky you have options to more powerful version of them that have a chance of missing)

As for the art, it's pretty good. Some of the characters are actual art and there are CGs as well, while the more dreamy and nightmarish ones are AI generated art which I found to be a fairly creative use of AI art

Overall if this game appeals to you and or you enjoy others by the same developer, I'd recommend getting it

I love this game but I played this like a couple years before and had to play the entire game again just to get to the credits bc there is no shortcut button to the credits

But I like the game so it wasn't frustrating at all lmao

Good game overall. References are amazing (especially if you're in the SIGYAAD Discord, you should join it, it's fun). Menus are nice to look at and navigate and the combat feels very rewarding. However there are a few negative things I'd like to point out. The text is riddled with typos (either something simple like "wierdo" or punctuation where there shouldn't be any), first person mode resets when I enter a new room, and I couldn't seem to find a way to fullscreen the game.

So I like it, other than the oddities mentioned I really recommend it. Especially when you're seeing references left and right to people you know.

As the 12th game by Sigyaad, and spiritual successor to his 3rd game, "My Inner Darkness Is A Hot Anime Girl" does not disappoint.
It continues his tradition of light hearted dialogue contrasted by darker themes, to astonishing effect, there's one scene in the second nightmare that brings a tear (of laughter) to my eye.
I really liked the AI generated sprites for enemies, thought it was a really cool idea and was executed well.
The length was also a pleasant surprise, at almost exactly one hour it dwarfs his other games.
As a fan of Sigyaad since his first game, i'm really proud to see how far he's come, and I look forward to what the future has in store.

overall, its a short game that tries to make you think about yourself if you pay attention to it. the gameplay is very straightforward and there is no side story to let you deviate. you will get about an hours worth of play time in to finish it if you look for everything you could possibly do and read everything.

but all of that is nothing compared to seeing the main character hit the gangnam style like its still 2012. we can all relate to that. dont deny it

Absolutely lovely, the game is amazingly well-written and funny at the same time. (LOL!)

A very fun (and depressing) short journey about overcoming anxieties and your horrible mind. art is well made, gameplay is pretty good as well, It also hints at a connected SIGYAAD Universe which is always awesome!

Overall its pretty dang charming and i enjoyed it alot. definitely worth the 5 dollars! (Also KARD SENS OH MY GOD SHES SO HOTTTTTT)

8.25 / 10. This is one of Sigyaad's longest stories so far and in my opinion one of his best. I want Kard to step on me. I liked the dream world design and how the characters in dream world looked as well. The twist at the end was unexpected and great with the boss design looking great as well. Sure there is some jank but it can be overlooked as some issues with the game engine and not the developer.

It's a short, but sweet game. The advice was nice and helpful and the gameplay was amazing. I LOVED the ending and all the references to past Sigyaad titles! I'm so happy to see another game featuring Kard, and it's even an RPG! A must have for Sigyaad Team fans!

Great game if you're currently struggling, or have struggled with intrusive thoughts and unfortunate memories. Kard is hot as fuck too. Would spend 4 times the money just for her.

again sigyaad makes a game that actually has an impact on me. i feel this is one of the better games in the catalogue (no topping cbt with yuuka patche dlc(i love my wife)) i would have loved to give an younger version of myself this game as it still strikes a cord for me.

The, storyline is very, interesting the characters, and artwork is amazing, as well as the dialogue I enjoyed every second playing the game, and I definitely recommend it 10/10 in my book loved it very much it was a fun game to play.

This game was good enough to get me to write a review. Longtime Sigyaad fans are rewarded by callbacks and continued light-hearted humour, but it would be folly to assume this is just some haha funny pose meme game. This game like the others, has us looking inwards, about our fears and worries at their worst, when they're overwhelming and crippling. At times the game was discomforting, because some of our thoughts can be too, and there are aspects of ourselves that we would rather not face. But much like life, there are joyful and fearful moments in this game, with a new theme and message not explicitly in some of the other games. I hope that you, dear reader, find this game enjoyable and replayable, because it really is, whether it's revisiting advice or simply characters we've grown fond of. This is the first of the Sigyaad games that made me legitimately cry. It was difficult, but relieving to finish, and the writing gave me a small glimmer of a hope and desire to genuinely love and be at peace with myself. I hope wherever you are in your journey, you are able to find and enjoy this joy also.

My Inner Darkness Is A Hot Anime Girl! is a pretty darn solid game with a story that tackles with some of the things humans have to deal with sometimes in our lives such as depression, anxiety, bullying or isolation much like some of Sigyaad's previous games. As a long time fan (if you can call me that) since Sakuya Izayoi Gives You Advice And Dabs, I'm pretty happy to see Sigyaad gives a stab again into an JRPG format with a returning character and see them improve over time, I'm excited to see their next project unveiled and hope they'll grow larger as the days pass.

As for the game itself: Pretty solid overall with a quick pace for what it is. It's a little clunky with the hitboxes sometimes in the overworld (such as in the classroom with it being a bit dense) and camera controls over the game feels a bit questionable but is most likely for accessibility and make things easier for some people. I do like the first person look and reminds me of Danganronpa a bit, though I never used it much and felt it was much easier to just do third person but I would like to see an RPG game use more of this as it's a bit of a rarity I feel like.

The fights are pretty alright with them not being strenuous and a breeze for anyone who never played an RPG, with it being more of a story telling device than a fight-fight with story, though I would like an option for the game to be harder and more strategic as I felt a bit bad not drinking all that grape juice non-alcoholic wine that I bought, I just wanted to feel like amore.

All in all, pretty great game that you should get, might just give you some life advice that you never knew you needed.
