So i bought the game a few months back, and returned it a few hours later. The idea is really cool, but the product of the idea is quite bad tbh. There were a lot of bugs and glithces, and the game just did not want to cooperate.
But as i said, the whole idea is really cool. And if the devs manage to make something playable and enjoyable out of this, i might buy it again.

This will be getting a thumbs down until these problems are fixed...
First the alarm systems go off even if you disabled them
second people see you and call the cops no matter what youre actually doing
third the cops find you no matter where you are on the map and arrest you without any chance of escape
honestly this game has a nice map layout and somewhat okay graphics but the actual gameplay is horrible
the loading takes forever and the game is boring and unenjoyable.

I like the idea of this game, but the game needs a lot of work. I will buy it again once the game gets more updates.

The Devs up and disappeared so the game has gotten no updates, just an abandoned project, not worth getting.

hi i saw there was a glitch in multiplayer mode every time a player gets out of the passanger seat they start tilting to the left so thats somthing to work on

ill admit the bugs and lack of care from the devs fucking blows. this game is still on the fucking steam store when the game is now unplayable. i used to play this whenever i got bored and yeah it was fun. but since the devs gave up on it it should really be taken down. :/

I like this game but in its current state its very buggy and doesnt have much to do, but that is to be expected from an early access game by a small company and im sure over time the game will improve.

Current Pros:
- Concept is really cool.
- Devs are active and always interacting with the community which is always a huge plus.
- There is a demo for the game for people who are unsure about buying the game (albit, the demo is horrifically out of date and has about 1 minute of content right now but they will update it to be better later down the road).

Current Cons:
- There are quiet a lot of bugs but the devs are working to fix them soon.
- Not much content currently.
- AI needs work.
- Menu system needs some work
- There currently is not an easy way to figure out the controls in-game besides the basic controls

Overall:
The concept of the game is really good but in its current state it is not very good, however later down the line I can see this game being really good if the devs make sure to always be on top of it and are always interacting with the community. This is a game to look forward to later on in its development. I would definatally recommend this as something to get later down the road when its more polished.

High Hopes for this game a few years down the road, but for right now. It's very bugy like damn I don't see why they even released it. The bugs and glitching out in MP make this game un playable.

A bug-ridden, poorly-optimized, barely-functioning mess.

The UI is extremely clunky and clicking buttons often don't register. Horrible performance.
But a great concept and I will be eagerly waiting for the bug fixes and updates.

This isn't worth your money or time. This game is completely dead, not even sure why it's still up, this is literally a tech demo.

Go play Thief Simulator instead. It's literally so similar to this it is uncanny, however is actually a finished product.

I really like the game a lot.
But the thing that you cannot save your game progress, just doesn't make the game much better.
I would play this game all day if you could save your progress, because then you could be rich and earn money.

But overall i think it is a really funny game with a lot of features, but sadly with a lot of bugs.

Literally the buggiest game I have ever played. Played through 30 minutes of agonizing VR glitches. No amount of refunds will cover the cost of repairing the brain damage delt by playing this game.

It's a great concept but way too glitchy to play, i waited a few months with high hopes they'd fix it in patches but it's still unplayable & now it's way too late for a steam refund, awesome. I do not recommend.

This game... A serious disgrace to the unreal engine. From afar it looks like a good game but as soon as you either buy it or check some reviews, it doesn't hold so strong. Believe the bad reviews, the game is a buggy mess of a concept and executed horribly. I bought me and my brother this and it kicked me out for various errors about 3 times, also on 1 of the 2 maps ONLY, there is horrible unplayable desync. I would recommend waiting until the devs either get thier crap together, or actually fix the game.

I haven't played much of this game but I feel it has enough potential to say that I fully support the game and its developement. As a game developer myself I know the struggles between thinking of a good game and making it a reality so I may be a bit different minded than the average gamer however I feel this game is enough fun even if it has a few bugs and issues.

What this game is :

Fun
Hilarious to play with friends
Fairly easy to get in to
Different from the generic shooter or free to play mmo
Unique, I haven't seen any game do this before and I probably won't see many more in my lifetime

What this game isn't :

Bug free (they are working on the game of course)
AAA (the graphics are nice but weirdly demanding)
The best game ever (yet xD)

Here are some reasons I would suggest buying this game for yourself and in some cases friends as well :

You want a game to mess around in where you can drive like a maniac and rob houses - Tick
You and a friend/friends are bored of shooting people in other games and want something different - Tick
You want to play something with a more authentic lock picking system than 90% of games - Tick (I lock pick from time to time with a decent kit and some amazingly nice locks)

Anyway, I hope I have given a decent review of this title and I hope to see the game completed.
(Bonus points to the developers if they add a lockpick gun, cos straight up if anyone was gonna rob houses for a living they would spend the extra 5 quid to get a faster entrance xD)

i like the game but it can use a lot of work i know i am just one person but i think you have a great concept.

Hilariously glitchy, but after the "recent" patches, i have more faith this this game now!

This game is fun and enjoyable... for about 1 hour. I do like the game but I just got bored after about an hour of playing it. Yes, it is quite buggy however not as buggy as some people are saying it is. If I were you i would save your £10 and buy something else. I did find a game that is basically the same called "Theif Simulator" which is coming out on steam in summer 2018 and let me just say... Klepto has no chance in competing against this.

This game isnt the best. To be fair, this is a good concept and idea, but first off i cant even get it to work. When I start up the game in pc mode, there are green lines all over the screen and cannot see anything, and when you do VR the controls make you feel sick. I never feel sick and love VR, but the controls, OH GOD i was physically sick. At one point I was elevated off the ground and then shot up into the air. That was the point I stopped. I am not hating this game. All I want to do is let the developer know the flaws of the game.

Klepto is one of them games I strived to keep playing when it first came out. To put it lightly, when the game came out, I finally thought a decent thievery game was created. Do not let the low hours fool you, I have played this well over the limit offline while waiting for class at college and showing off to my friends.

The problem however, lies in the updates and timing. The developers are doing tons of other projects which have limited this games potential as of late to four-six months of update seperation and it has been only bug fixes. They had a good chance to keep hitting at it once Vanoss channel played the game, releasing two videos and gave it a lot of publicity which at the time, I am sure was appreciated as updates came out for bug fixes though little else.

Point is, the game is dead. I want this game to be alive, I want to keep playing it. I want to have item value to where I can stop robbing food at value of 40 coins. I want to save progress of what I have stolen, not restart the counter each time. I want to have a safe house to where one can display their ill-gotten goods. I want other tools to use that can help with robbing other houses which include better safe cracking, electronic detectors and laptop hacking.

If the game was active, I be going on about it positively but in reality, it is not. Do not buy it...want proof, go into the forums as the question is the game dead is an active thing with a forum moderator having to deal with the crowd with the developers not even caring to talk to them personally anymore. Game is dead, long live the idea of a good thing that is no more.

I really want this game to be good but it's simply not yet. LOL This was released over a year ago and doesn't seem to have progressed much. Hey devs, you need to work harder at fixing all the bugs in this game. The graphics aren't even epic in this game and yet it lags in so many places. If you turn a lamp on in a house it's instant fps drop. I have a 1080ti, this shouldn't be an issue. Also when i run in first person my characters face keeps popping off and becomes visible directly in front of me. That's just a small piece of everything that is wrong with this game. I get stuck in closets and other parts of the homes when i try to hide, some of the neighborhoods aren't fully explorable etc etc.

Even with all the bugs and lack of development I still recommend it because i love the idea of this game. Although I don't think it's worth $12.99. With the lack of development I think it should almost be free to play or like under $5. The developers need to show they're actually serious about making the game and not just trying to get a quick $13 from you.

You start out by picking a neighborhood where you can either just go break into the homes or do an actual mission objective to earn coins. I have yet to find that much to actually steal that's worth anything but what you do find you can go sell at a pawn shop. The only vehicle you get is a white van that you can drive around. There are cars you can steal but I've yet to get the keys to the ones i have found. There are also limited home models and a lot of the same items in each house. You're pretty much stealing from hard working folks in random neighborhoods. lol Which as fun as it is to just run around going into every home or building seen, it would also be nice to have missions like stealing from someone who actually deserves it, like a repo jobs or something. Basically combine the game Thief with GTA and make all buildings explorable in an open world environment. haha

I do think this is a good idea for an open world style game but it needs to be done right. Either by fixing all the issues or having someone else make the game with a better game engine and more staff that can work on making it better. As it is, there's not a lot to do that makes the game playable for very long.

VR was completely broken, mouse and keyboard controls weren't much better. Only thing that worked the best was my xbox one controller, but even that felt very clunky and bad but was able to somewhat play this broken game. Wasn't worth $12.99, I've played many free games that were SO much better than this game. This is the first game I've actually had to refund, I just could not play it, which sucks since I really enjoy stealth games and it seemed exactly like the type of game I've been wanting to play lately. I've also played less broken early access games than this, I wan't even going in with the highest expectations. Klepto is just completely unplayable so I'll take note of this game dev/publisher so I don't buy anything else they have to offer.

Thought I'd show support for the development as I think the game has great potential, so I purchased and installed.. unfortunately the screen starts to flicker green at the computer at the start of game and is unplayable for me. Can anyone help?

my grandson saved up his pocket money to buy this game.i thought it was like all previous games where you pay for the game and wait for it to down load ,when down loaded ,off you go and play.How wrong was i.I then discovered you have to pay a minimum of 14 pounds for one year to install a app to play KLEPTO. TOo say iam annoyed is an understatement, why was the whole cost not included in the first place or pointed out that there is an additional cost if you do not have this app.As far as iam concerned some on has played a blinder here. how do i get my grandsons 10 pounds back

I really want to like this game, I really do. But I can't. The optimization is horrible, and the gameplay is very buggy. But I see potential in this game. I feel like this game could be very good. The devs of this game don't make much progress on this game though, and I feel like it will be a long time until release, or a new game like this will come out from another game studio. I hope that the devs come back to this game and optimize it and make it better, because with a little bit of work, this game could be very good. When all the changes are made, I will change this review from negative to positive.

This game is fraud. This was a bunch of assets thrown together over someone's lunch break and given an early access title to snag some cash. The website doesn't work, the dev has fled and the game is dead on arrival. Last update was many years ago.

[ABANDONWARE] I wouldn't suggest buying this game since the game hasn't been updated in a while and there isn't really anything to do in-game.

This game is mixed feelings for me.

First off, your pc needs to be pretty decent to run this game.

I don't understand why this is, considering how the graphics still look bad even on max settings.

This game has many, many, MANY bugs within it. These arrange from random crashes, character glitches, getting stuck, being unable to put an item down, or from audio malfunctions.

The AI seems just bland and boring. The civilians look like they're robots as do the cops.

I have played this game on two pcs. One which was somewhat decent, to a pretty beefy laptop.

This game, even on the lowest settings, struggled to work for me on the first computer. I ended up uninstalling this game because I couldn't get my money back.

On the beefy pc though, it runs well.

There is no story in this game. It's basically bag and sell for everything.

There isn't even really a selling system. There's no skills or anything that you can use, nor are there any abilities or tools.

The houses in the game are broken 50% of the time. Whether it be a glitching alarm system or windows you get stuck in, this game makes it a pain to play it.

The controls are absolutely terrible. Half of the time I can't even exit to the menu because I don't know how to navigate the damn tablet the character has.

This game could have been something, but it never was.

I wouldn't spend more than 10$ on this game. If you have something better in mind to get, do that instead. Save this game as a last resort if you must get it.

It feels empty and boring to play this game even for just 5 minutes.

-That is if you get it to work.

This could have been great, a first-person thief game in VR!!
I bought in very early, participated in the boards and was once called the "Community MVP" by the Dev.
Now, 2 years later I'm advising everyone reading to avoid this like the plague. Updates are nonexistent, it's essentially the same broken mess it was at launch.

Play this and you WILL get stuck in doorways, you WILL rage at the psychic NPCs, you WILL exit the game and never touch it again and you WILL regret spending money on it. Wouldn't be worth it at a 99% discount.

Please dont waste your money on this game. Its the glitchest game you will every waste money on. It gets worse when you enter multiplayer, This includes Leaning, Items disapearing, Npcs only showing for certain people, van exploding, limp stretching, and corspe launches. The idea of the game is good but the game is just bad.

Buggy as fuck, when you Disabled the power to a house, the alarm would STILL go off, the AI is completley Overpowered, as if you get away from the house, as soon as the alarm goes off, you GO TO THE OTHER HALF OF THE MAP The police will still get you. I REALLY wanted to like this game. so sorry Meerkat

Don't bother. Developers abandoned the game and left it here to milk money from unaware costumers.

I gave them the benefit of thinking there was like only 1 or 2 people working on the game. Re-checked it today and saw the last update was on 9/02/2017. This game is abandoned and what is here is a barley functioning "game".

Do Not Buy This Game! This game has been abandoned by the developers and yet they continue to sell it as "Under Development", that is just wrong. Several people, including myself have reported this game to Steam to be removed, since it is not an early access game still in development, it is just a concept that barely functions. It's fraud at this point.

I have seen children without arms create better games than this.

I just upgraded my desktop recently, so I tried to re-launch the game, since I had bought it when it was still an early access game. Still can't run it. Lags, glitches, freezes, you name the error and I have had that problem for sure. I cannot express how much this game honestly sucks. Its last update was in 2017, so if you're looking to buy it in 2019, don't bother; the developers have given up on it

A classic example of an unpolished broken Early Access Unity game that got a bit of popularity from a few youtubers 6 years ago and abandoned by the devs shortly after. Ignore it.
